Title: What will Bitcoin look like in the future?
Post by: Aunt Lydia on June 11, 2024, 12:22:03 PM
What is the future of Bitcoin?

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  ;D

Government can only regulate centralized exchanges and not bitcoin. This is because bitcoin is censorship resistance due to its decentralized nature, and nobody can control bitcoin core protocols. So if you have your bitcoin in your noncustodial wallet, just keep hodling because it is giving you financial freedom using it in a decentralized way.

It is only altcoins that can be regulated and controlled by the government if they want. With bitcoin, you are free and using it as a store of value/investment over a long time will give you more freedom from inflation.

for 15 years of bitcoin existence it has been a big help for many people , from those who trust and support this like me and my family and friends
so with all of those? personally? i really don't care what will bitcoin looks in the future because what I wanna enjoy is what I am having now and in the coming years.
if this will continue to progress for my second and third generation then that is something very best but what I have gained and gather from those years of being here? i believe it is something i must be thankful for bitcoin and its creator.

I think Bitcoin is moving more and more into the areas of financial assets, and it's getting regulated as such in different countries. That means that Bitcoin is perceived not as a currency, but as something you can own and then sell for profit. This sentiment is common on the forum, and it's of course, attractive to tax authorities because assets are taxed, while currencies are not (income received in currencies is taxed, but the currency itself isn't).
I hope that there will be some solutions to the issue of transaction fee spikes, and that non-custodial wallets will remain legal.

It will be an asset to back up the economy... just like gold.

Most countries will have bitcoin in their banks to back up their economy, and while more govs want it, then it will cost more. Just remember Satoshi words, he said how bitcoin value in the future would be a lot or zero, and we only have those two options. And from how things look now, the value can only go one way.

I speculate almost all Bitcoin will be controlled by government, this is because most holders choose to hold in centralized exchanges or trusting their money to land based company (ETFs). Any coins that hand in centralized exchanges and ETFs companies can cooperate with the government, the government can confiscate the coins just like Executive Order 6102 where the government force people to send their gold (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_6102).

Currently Bitcoin has been regulated, the government make the regulations tighter and tighter every year.

What is the future of Bitcoin?

The future lies on the past, present and the same expected future in bitcoin under a decentralized digital network, in serving as an alternative means for financial economy currency, which is more cheaper, easier and faster for everyone to use without going through any regulated body.

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?

To another new all time high after this post halving experience, get ready on the next move.

Will it make everyone free?

Bitcoin is decentralized, so by that alone people are free in using it with having to go through any regulated institution or government authorization.

Will it be regulated and become government controlled?

No

Bitcoin in the future will not make people free as imagined, it is only enhanced security and privacy on people's transactions and makes people freer to manage their assets without intervention. And whether it is regulated or controlled by the government, I think that bitcoin will be increasingly regulated by the government and it may limit the function of bitcoin only as a trading instrument, not free to be used for payments like people use fiat. But even if it is regulated, it does not reach the point where the government controls it like they can control fiat.

That's just my picture, maybe it will be different, but I believe that bitcoin is heading there.

The future of Bitcoin likely includes increased adoption as a legitimate payment method and digital gold-like store of value, alongside more governmental regulation to address legal concerns

I believe regulations will become even stricter both for businesses and individuals owning and trading bitcoin. As long as we have non-custodial wallets, we don't have to be their subjects, but those bastards will find ways to limit that side of the industry. Bogus charges against developers is one way to threaten them. I wonder how long until we start hearing about cases where developers are charged by random women for sexual abuse.

When it comes to centralized exchanges, their positions keep decreasing as time goes by. That's a positive thing because it means there are less coins that might get hacked and cause a big downtrend as a result. You are right that ETFs have seed huge inflows of money recently. In fact, the money coming in every day is much more than what miners can theoretically mine in the same period.

Yes I concur to this your speculation because many holder or investment has their investment trusted in centralized exchange, secondly many government will focus more on how to control and regulate Bitcoin or crypto to avoid any thing that will bring count down on their fiat, currently I will site example of some of the third world countries like Nigeria is kicking on how to regulate the Bitcoin or crypto currency exchange , it may apply to other nations but I don't think if all of it will have it head because Bitcoin is not built for centralized exchange only those that chooses it that store their currency their many will still like the self custodian wallet which will make most if their regulations not achievable easily.

From the projections and the way that bitcoin is moving, you do not need anyone to tell you that since the government have already picked up an interesting in it, there is no way that the future of bitcoin will exist without any form of regulations.

Acceptance will increase, adoption will also increase, same with regulations, and to what extent, we can only guess.

Here is a lecture for you:
https://thebitcoinmanual.com/articles/bitcoins-battle-with-ofac-compliance/ (https://thebitcoinmanual.com/articles/bitcoins-battle-with-ofac-compliance/)

Due to transparent nature of Bitcoin, big miners can be forced to use black list and remove certain coins from transacting.
And even if your black listed coins find their way into the block, they are easily traced and movement alone can mean jail for you.

As for the question, what it will look like - it will look the same as today but more expensive and more censored.

The future of bitcoin is that those who initially reject it will sooner or later or eventually adopt it too. There will be more countries like El Salvador that will legalize Bitcoin as legal tender in the future. Even though it may not be like fiat money, everyone will realize that this is like gold which is also sometimes used for transactions in the real world. Government interference can never be avoided. Because regulations regarding everything related to crypto have now begun to be created in all countries. It's just that they won't be able to have control like they control fiat. And bitcoin will remain a freedom for its holders.

The government is trying its best to control the bitcoins. They are forcing people to use the centralized exchanges so that they can keep track of how many Bitcoins a user is selling and how much he is withdrawing. Next, it will impose tax based on the winnings. So yes, in the future, if this goes on, then I highly doubt that the popularity of the coin will increase. People get into Bitcoins due to the decentralized nature of it. But now the government is trying hard to either make it illegal or impose a huge tax on it. Due to the decentralized exchanges and P2P platforms, Bitcoins are still heaven for many investors and traders.

For the time being bitcoin have been in existence, you can see how the government have tried to regulate it and have it under their control and still not able to succeed with their aim, this is more than 10 years now, do you still think it will be possible for them in the future if they try more? I don’t think so, because with all what is happening in bitcoin, its operation and on the path it thrives on, the decentralized nature of it will make it impossible for them.

It was invented to serve as alternative to the traditional banking system, so making people free in what aspect do you mean? What it can guarantee you is ownership and control of your money by yourself without the involvement of third party or rules being made on you on how to spend your money. This is what bitcoin is and the government can never be a friend to it for this reasons.

You just can't expect poor people to pay high fees for transacting with Bitcoin when their monthly salary is ~400 USD
And you can't expect them to understand LN as even computer savvy guys have problems using it.

In the end, easy of use, transaction fees and speed is what matters the most for regular people, not the decentralization and "number goes up".
This people want to spend, trade, not to hodl.

With the increase in government regulation and the inflow of institutional investors into the Bitcoin arena, I predict that the industry is moving towards centralization. These ETF operators are investing so much money on publicity which promotes centralization. I suspect that very soon only a few people will be aware that they can keep their Bitcoin in a decentralized wallet. People are now been brainwashed that these centralized platforms are the ideal medium of investing in Bitcoin. However, there will still be people who will not fall for the government or these institutions.

I believe regulations will become even stricter both for businesses and individuals owning and trading bitcoin. How are we sure that the government will not criminalize the use of non-custodian wallets in the future. The attack on anonymity services might be an indication that after the attack on mixers and conjoin services, non-custodian wallets might be their next target very soon. The government can come up with different avenues to ensure that they limit privacy. In my country, the government accused cryptos of contributing to the loss or value of our currency. They now use this avenue to clamp down on diverse crypto platforms. Meanwhile, we all know that the reason for the fall of our currency is corruption and bad economic policies.

People outside of crypto still think that banks are safe for storing money and that this third-parties with their "insurance" is the only good way to store large amounts of money.

It takes hyper-inflation for people to realize how this "insurance" works and to switch for something different.
Or some hostile takeover due to some accusations.

There are a lot of price fluctuations in crypto space, we can't deny that and we can't guarantee anything in this respect.
But I still take it over physical money that's hard to secure and over third-party custody.

Controlled by the government? I think not, no matter what, or no matter what time it takes. Bitcoin can never be controlled by anyone, not even the government, because it is decentralised and no one can decrypt or access the source code of bitcoin unless the creator itself, but I think that over the years, Satoshi Nakamoto hasn't done anything to interfere with bitcoin, and I think it will stay that way for the future.

But I think the possible and clear way of using bitcoin in the future is that it will be known more and used more in the world, and it will be like a normal currency that can be used on a daily basis. That's why if you are still not doing bitcoin investment, then you might want to consider investing before it's too late because you will be missing an opportunity of your life. Well,  in conclusion, it will be a blast for bitcoin in the future.

bitcoin is going to be (if it isn't already lol) the premier alternative to cash.  It will also be the key to freedom and self-custody that comes with that freedom.

No one really knows but one things for sure that it would really be reflecting out in overall recognition and adoption on which it
would really be that depending into those factors which would really be seen into its value. So it would vary whether going up or down but seeing on how it did
perform for the past decade then we have seen so much progress.

Will it make everyone free?

Free in terms of finances? It would really be depending on the investment that you had put up of course.

Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
Government cant touch this one, they've been long time sure that trying out to do such thing but still even up to now
there's no way that it could be stopped.

This is why investing or choosing up whether for investment purposes or would really be focusing into its
utility then it would really be that according into you.

This topic is already discussed and the crazy theories you are expecting are presented many times on different topics you can use the search system to check out those topics, At the same time what I think is yes, ETFs are kind of a way to spoil things in the Bitcoin network and community, to maintain the concept and transparency alive you need to buy your coins under your custody. Third parties are no longer needed.

As far I see Bitcoin after this cycle it will be called digital gold haha, officially I mean to say that now the majority will recognize Bitcoin as a store of value an investment opportunity only.

So many questions you have there, but let me try to answer all of them as summarily as possible. Fine, Bitcoin has made tremendous success between 2009 and 2024 as it moved from almost nothing to the ATH of about $73,850 this year. It is still promising on the bullish path but any right-thinking person should know that it can't be business as usual for the coin. The way Bitcoin was moving in huge multiples those years cannot happen again because the price is now heavy, otherwise, it will become inflationary and become a joke rather than what people wanted it to be. But still, it will continue to climb higher, only that the pace will be so reduced, unlike the huge targets that the unfounded people are calling for it. Also, in this current bull run, if the coin can hit the $100,000 psychological level, it will be a very good achievement even as it will face a whole lot of hurdles before such would happen.

As for Bitcoin helping everyone to gain financial freedom, I tell you emphatically that it will not happen. That time has passed and even if someone strikes Bitcoin at $70,000, who knows how many years it will take before the coin will reach twice the price at $140,000? That can't ascertain financial freedom anymore or hedge inflation.

But for the regulation, well, Bitcoin can't be regulated directly because it is out of the control of the government since it is a decentralised blockchain. But indirectly, we should expect more regulation, and whether we like it or not, Bitcoin can still be indirectly regulated and this will happen in the strictest form over time.

From every move taken by governments against bitcoin and with the current changes I can see in bitcoin, personally I see bitcoin to be more of a speculative assets than a currency which it is meant to be.

Even with an obvious look we can see that it's moving away from its initial intention to a more even assets that one can use to trade and make more money than a currency itself.

Even with this frustrating steps governments are taking in regulating the use of bitcoin, we might see some resistance to any extent but yet we can't still know what exactly will be the next move of governments, just as pmalek said below
I wonder how long until we start hearing about cases where developers are charged by random women for sexual abuse.

It will be regulated. As the SEC and many other government entities are involved in crypto and in the latest news, Gary Gensler said we will be working to regulate crypto so people would not be scammed by any platform in this era and I think it's a good thing as if they will regulate it. It means more and more people will be joining the crypto industry. But it also means we will see crypto controlled by the government but that will not be 100% as no one can actually control your funds except the banks.

If you own the key funds are yours, they can't own them or force you to give them your keys. Overall people will come toward the use of BTC directly as of now they are using BTC via ETFs which is not the direct use of it, but a time will come, where the regulation will start to hurt people and make some difficulties fro them that they will seek alternative options like using BTC directly without using BTC ETFs.

It's not going to go anywhere definitely, bitcoin would probably have more applications in the foreseeable future but in terms of practical predictions, I'd say that bitcoin's probably going to be just fine where it is right now because it's just an investment tool as of now and a currency for some people, there's nothing more that you can do about it. Pretty sure that bitcoin's going to be much bigger in terms of price and adoption though, of that one I'm sure of that, if we're talking about a decade from now, we'd probably never see this current price even as a floor price and we'd be panicking and giving into FUD when bitcoin goes down to a $100k.

Absolutely no one can boost speak of the future if bitcoin and that’s why, everything about the future of bitcoin is only predicted and just from the way everything looks in the cryptocurrency industry, I think there would be a time cryptocurrency might be at some degree be regulated by the government because lately, I have seen a lot of exchanges which makes the trading and exchange of cryptocurrencies much more easier been restricted in slot of Africa countries and this is a clearer sign that, government are already winning these battle of decentralization and with time, government might begin to directly or indirectly run the affairs of cryptocurrencies.

The future is upon us. I envision a digital form of gold placed on a shelf, treasured by countries and institutions. By holding onto this digital asset, they create scarcity, turning it into a major financial investment that can withstand market fluctuations in the future.

I'm not sure where you read the trend of holding in centralized exchange is keep decreasing when the value of their hot wallet keep increasing, it's opposite with what you said.

2. https://platform.arkhamintelligence.com/explorer/entity/bybit

Until the government would be very strict with Bitcoin taxes and asked to declare all of your coins and the address you own, if you didn't declare it you will get taxed higher or treat you as a criminal, it's when the government almost have a power to control Bitcoin "indirectly".

I will not outrightly call bitcoin a failure in El Salvador and using the information in the video you shared to conclude that bitcoin was a failure in El Salvador is a great error. The video simply detailed common inherent challenges militating against bitcoin which include high fees, delayed confirmation time due to network congestion sometimes, and the technical awareness required to use bitcoin. I still believe with time these challenges will be solved as it will not happen automatically.

First thing you need to remember is that the reason Satoshi created bitcoin in the first place was never to replace fiat but offer alternative in a bid to bringing freedom to the world. There is never any way the whole of human population will use bitcoin as it is a thing of choice. El Salvador did not make bitcoin their only currency but one of their currency to exist together with their fiat.

From the time period you have mentioned, I have not seen any government control over Bitcoin, which means that Bitcoin was not created to be controlled by any government in the world, so you don't need to doubt that. Moreover, if you already know what the price of Bitcoin was in 2009 and the price of Bitcoin this year, that should help you a little to open your mind and eyes to see that Bitcoin is the best asset that cannot be controlled by the government but is capable of growing to this size.

The technology behind the invention of Bitcoin among other digital currencies is revolutionary but what gives bitcoin an edge over others is its popularity, notability and credibility as the first known and widely launched digital currency that spread across world making it the most valuable in the market so far. Big ups to the inventor Satoshi for bringing the monumental invention of Bitcoin technology as an alternative to the centralized system practiced over the years and controlled by the government.

This alone have given the bitcoin the massive attention as a decentralized system of financial system, by extension making it an avenue for people to invest in the prosperous digital currency  and making it the biggest thus far.

You can't get better view on reality from simply asking people on street how they view it.

The challenges you have listed are a big problem and the solution has been there for years so why you still believe "with time" it will be solved ?

You can read my last two posts about it:

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?
For people who say that its price will skyrocket, we already know that. The question would be until when it rise? Until what price? Because personally, I think at some point we will reach a time where bitcoin will no longer increase in price but at the same time it wouldn't decrease because it can still be used as a currency, and I think at the end bitcoin will be used as a payment method more than as an investment.

There is only so much the government can do about bitcoin. They can control whether it's legal or illegal to use bitcoin but they can't do anything to prevent a transaction from being made.

Price will increase indefinitely because it's evaluated in FIAT which is printed without limit, the same way as Gold is increasing in value.

I'm sure we won't see 10x price increases in short period of time in the future (or even now) as marketcap will be too big for that.

As for being used as payment, if devs won't update the protocol for scalability then no, it won't.
Bitcoin will miss the biggest market of them all - being used as Money.

Seeing how things are today and for the past decade, the boat has already sailed away for that market.

El Salvador did not make bitcoin their only currency but one of their currency to exist together with their fiat.
Yeah, but most of the population in El Salvador do not use BTC, they don't even truly understand how it works, so many of them only downloaded the Chivo wallet to claim the $30 bonus attached to it, and afterwards they never used the wallet again or used BTC even in a different wallet. I may not call El Salvadors BTC plan a failure yet, but it is far from being a success and close to being a failure, so yeah.

Sure the government can't prevent a transaction from being made, but the government can add regulations to control the miners and ask them to censor certain transactions that they think related to high illicit funds. Now, your choice are either waiting for unknown miners to confirm your transactions or you become solo miner.

In my country, the government accused cryptos of contributing to the loss or value of our currency. They now use this avenue to clamp down on diverse crypto platforms. Meanwhile, we all know that the reason for the fall of our currency is corruption and bad economic policies.
Don't forget their endless printing of paper money that debases the currency. Most countries have printed enormous amounts ever since the COVID-19 pandemic and they will still be doing it in the future. There is no COVID now, but you need fiat for the war machinery that doesn't sleep.

I'm not sure where you read the trend of holding in centralized exchange is keep decreasing when the value of their hot wallet keep increasing, it's opposite with what you said.
It's a trend being reported often as time goes by. I have seen many news articles and tweets mentioning it. I don't keep track, of course.

Everything will remain the same from the beginning until now bitcoin is running and even until whenever as long as bitcoin exists then indeed the government will never be able to intervene directly by regulating bitcoin because in the end the conditions remain the same where the government will only be able to outsmart bitcoin with regulations without being able to regulate anything to make bitcoin subject.

The nature of bitcoin that cannot be regulated by anyone will remain like that even by the government so there is nothing to worry about for bitcoin because in the end either from the beginning, currently or in the future the conditions will still remain the same where nothing will change in terms of nature which will still refer to decentralization.
But by looking at the current conditions, I still feel that this could be a start where bitcoin in the future will begin to be recognized by the state which in the end they will certainly not make blunders, especially when bitcoin has begun to be recognized by many people,

Although the government are plotting how they can regulate Bitcoin, but I don't think they archive it, and since they cannot archive it, they will end up regulating Bitcoin users and the platforms that facilitate the use of Bitcoin for some people in other parts of the world. The centralized exchange is being regulated, and they compel customers to do KYC verification, which is a means by which they can identify any Bitcoin users and their transactions if they need to. So, the government can only regulate exchanges and tell Bitcoin users that they know their identities, but it cannot fully control the block chain.

In the future, the price of Bitcoin will continue to grow, and people will continue to buy and store Bitcoin because it's a store of value. More businesses will also start accepting Bitcoin as a payment method.

Bitcoin's future is bright. It's freedom flourishing. I'm convinced that a second layer solution will thrive within this decade. Lightning was practically not a favorable option for the most part. It will still have usage, but it's not what will drive the global adoption.

Global adoption will eventually emerge when these four aspects will be simultaneously provided by one piece of software:

  • Self-custody
  • Nearly zero transaction fees
  • Nearly instant payments
  • Privacy

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
It won't make everyone free, because not everyone wants to be free when it comes to financial sovereignty.

It is not possible for any country's government to control blockchain or cryptography. Because crypto is completely decentralized, it is not possible for anyone to control it. Transactions can be done here maintaining complete anonymity, due to which it is not possible for anyone to track a wallet and find out someone's personal identity. But when someone holds an account on a centralized exchange and does KYC, the exchange authority can track their customer's transactions if they want. So in this case, if each country launches its own crypto exchange, the government will be able to bring the crypto users of their country under some control. Otherwise it is not possible to track a crypto user personally.

Been controlled by the government is one thing that i don't think will really be possible with bitcoin because the blockchain technology which makes bitcoin decentralized isn't even controlled by anyone literally so its something that isn't going to be really controlled by by the government but there can be regulations to how it could be used in a country or maybe there could be some restrictions for the kind of places where it could be used as some countries currently does, they make sure crypto isn't allowed on every platform in the country.

Freedom for everyone isn't something Bitcoin can except you refer to financial freedom of which not everyone too can be able to gain such from Bitcoin because benefiting from bitcoin will only means one will have to invest or be using it for one thing or the other but then when you aren't using it or investing in it then there's no way you will be able to really get to the point where you can benefit from it or become free through bitcoin.

No matter how hard the government tries, controlling it is impossible. It is a matter of much trouble; if ever controlled, it must be more easily controlled. Any country's government cannot control blockchain and cryptocurrency because they are decentralized. However, it is controlled by its height so that no one can find its identity.
However, if each country's government verifies transactions through a specific exchange, it may be possible to control where and how transactions are being made.

Despite ongoing discussions, the path to widespread legalization of digital currency remains uncertain. It's a future that may require patience and anticipation as we wait to see how the landscape of digital currency evolves.

Are you from El Salvador? How do you know that people there aren't using bitcoin?

They accept bitcoin as legal tender doesn't mean they only focus on using it as a means of payment. We ourselves prefer to use bitcoin as an investment instead of using it as currency, why don't they have the right to do that? Additionally, you can also see that their government is also trying to accumulate bitcoin by buying 1 BTC per day, proving that they are also focusing on using bitcoin as an investment in addition to using it as a currency. They accept bitcoin as a means of legal tender and create a bitcoin city, what they want is to expand the tourism industry, attract investment capital...not just turn it into currency. Therefore, it cannot be said that they are failing and have not achieved anything.

The direction in the future and will continue to run on this week of the world no longer requires technology so the internet is lost forever.

So far, the Bitcoin system can make people free to enjoy and control their money without having to be bound by third parties.
Bitcoin is not regulated and controlled by them. Bitcoin is absolutely controlled by the owner who has Bitcoin.

Bitcoin does not belong to the government, so it is free because of decentralized. This is the most normal thing why Bitcoin cannot be adjusted.

Decentralized nothing can be controlled by the government.  The government can control the country's banks through the central bank and can see all the bank's transactions. But this is by no means possible in the case of Bitcoin. Bitcoin transactions can be completed completely anonymously.  Because of this, until now it is not possible to find out who created Bitcoin, how can a government regulate Bitcoin.

Day by day more and more people are showing interest in Bitcoin and Bitcoin is getting more and more popular. It has changed the fortune of thousands of people but not overnight. If we can use Bitcoin properly, if we can gain enough knowledge about the Bitcoin market and hire at the right time, surely we can change our fortunes with this Bitcoin investment. In case of Bitcoin investment, if we can invest patiently with a long-term plan and check the market, surely we will be able to achieve a considerable amount of success through this investment. Bitcoin investment as we are benefiting financially on the one hand. On the other hand, the country's economy is progressing a lot. So I think if we can use Bitcoin properly, our country's economy will be very active. I myself love to invest in Bitcoin and would recommend others to invest in Bitcoin. The most important thing in Bitcoin investment is patience. If we can invest patiently with a long-term plan and check the market, we will definitely be one of the successful investors in the future.

What is the future of Bitcoin?
Based on the current state of affairs in the cryptoindustry, bitcoin will most likely remain an investment instrument (like shares of the stock market), because there is already quite a lot of money from institutional investors invested in this asset. This process is irreversible, which means that the opportunity to invest in bitcoin will remain. It will probably be impossible for ordinary citizens to do this directly (buy / sell) and will have to use services like brokers or exchangers. That is, no anonymity of any kind (pseudo-anonymity can only be a dream). I don't think governments will allow the use of bitcoin P2P and it will be prosecuted under the (new) laws. Bitcoin will not be used as a means of payment or digital electronic money. This will be the other side of mass adoption.

Bitcoin will continue to exist and humanity will not give up on it, but the use of this financial asset will be completely different from what most users here expect.

Not pessimistic, not spreading Fud, and as a realist, I completely agree with what you say. As I have said many times before, the price we must pay if we want bitcoin to become legal and popular globally will be privacy. Governments will never allow us to use bitcoin without their control, and bitcoin will never become a currency and replace fiat. Many people have looked down on the government and thought that they would have no way to manage and control us, but look what has been happening.

But I hope there is still a way for us to keep some privacy for ourselves. In addition to using bitcoin as an investment, I still like to use bitcoin as my own bank. That gives me peace of mind instead of having to trust the bank to store assets.

As for me the future of bitcoin is unknown but the only thing I know about the future of bitcoin is great. And bitcoin will be continued to create or bring up ordinary poor people to millionaires and billionaires. And the future of bitcoin is bright. But nobody can tell the exact happening of the coin. Joe Biden now is trying to accept bitcoin foe his campaign donations while Donald Trump was accepting and donating bitcoin in the election campaign so when Trump from finally becomes the USA president things will change to good for bitcoin. And I don't trust Biden sudden support of bitcoin when he has been fighting against him.

Government can't control bitcoin and even the regulation will be only the Centralized Exchanges and not the bitcoin server or the Blockchain or the network. Those things are untouchable.

The privacy is bitcoin is becoming thinner and thinner because the government is trying every means possible to see how they can centralized bitcoin when it is decentralized by killing the services that promotes the decentralized nature of bitcoin.

Another thing is that people are seeing bitcoin more as an investment that will give them good profits overtime, and they don't care about the purpose of bitcoin creation which is freedom from government and third-party, but instead they are keeping their bitcoin in centralized platform s like exchanges and ETFs.

Continued trust and adoption make it easier for Bitcoin to be legally accepted by governments. Bitcoin is currently making good progress on this path. Since the states' biggest source of income is taxes, many states are trying to collect taxes from Bitcoin investors and exchanges. This situation is both good and bad. The good thing is that it will accelerate the legal adoption of Bitcoin. The worst part is that tax rates will increase over time, which will not be good for investors.

Talking about Bitcoin will bring Bitcoin to more people and always keep it on the agenda.

Yes, no one can tell what will be the future of bitcoin, but I believe it will continue to develop and prosper in the long run. Promotion can be slightly seen by those financial institutions and if bitcoin will be seen with more adaption in some countries, then there will be higher chances that bitcoin will head into a bright future.

Bitcoin may be uncertain but it’s definitely have a certain goal, aside from the financial freedom that people get from it, bitcoin in the end will always pursue making it a global currency.

Actually more businesses and big players might start using it, making Bitcoin go mainstream. Its just how governments decide to regulate it will be a game-changer—chill rules could help it blow up, but strict ones could put it on ice. Tech upgrades could make it faster and safer to use. Bitcoin's wild price swings might still be a rollercoaster, but they could mellow out as more people hop on. In shaky economic times, people I still see Bitcoin as a safe bet.

As before, bitcoin in the future will remain virtual money that can only be used in the online world and will continue to grow as prices increase and will continue to follow the rules set by the forum. a country cannot control it because bitcoin is online, not real like fiat.

Bitcoin is a successful currency and most of the people are accepting it due to its rate of growth as well as about the predictions of its future success. I know no one has the ability to predict the future but most of the people assume that as Bitcoin remains the most favorable currency in the past as well as in the present so its future will also be amazing and the growth will be stronger.

Bitcoin is not under the control of anyone that's why people are continuously investing in Bitcoin and one major benefit is that its price is automatically increasing and decreasing without the involvement of third parties so those can be profitable who have patience. The features of Bitcoin known as decentralized is more helpful for its investors as compared to the other investment opportunities so I think if more people are interested in it more it will become popular.

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  ;D
No one knows where it is going, but we have good hopes that it will go very far and become a global currency that will give us fredom and defeat centralized authorities like Banks and others.

I don't see government taking control over it because of the features it entails and I am very sure government of some countries that are trying to regulate it due to their selfish interest will realize and be defeated by the general public.

It is true that no one knows the future, but with what is happening, we can believe that the future of bitcoin will be much brighter as governments and organizations are gradually legalizing and accepting bitcoin. But I don't think bitcoin is on its way to becoming a global currency, nor does it intend to defeat banks and centralized institutions.

Do you think governments would be naive to legalize bitcoin and let it defeat their banks or centralized systems? Also, if I remember correctly, Satoshi never mentioned that he created bitcoin to defeat banks and centralized systems. I hope that you should not spread false information to cause deep misunderstanding between bitcoin and the government.

Bitcoin will only make everyone free if they adopt it but if everyone doesn't adopt Bitcoin, how can it therefore make everyone free?  Bitcoin is a decentralized asset and therefore can not not be controlled by the government and in the future the price of Bitcoin will reach another all time high.

its our decision to make mate, I believe that the world is still not ready to accept or adopt bitcoin because the government is the one that hindering this to happen ,
like what happened in EL Salvador when they adopted bitcoin  many of their people is against this adoption and this is also what is happening in the world now.
so I guess we are waiting for some time or at least another 10 years and lets see what will happen in the next future.
just keep your bitcoin and try not to sell out all your coins.

in the future bitcoin will be increasingly difficult to obtain, right? I'm sure there are countries that store bitcoin assets even though in their country bitcoin is illegal, now it has been proven that bitcoin transactions are very easy and bitcoin transactions cannot be traced, maybe in the future bitcoin will be extraordinary so I recommend hold bitcoin you will be a successful person in the future.

Not just Bitcoin, but all Cryptocurrencies that have real value represent a fundamental upgrade to the world's economic system.  When they are fully mastered and integrated into the global and interplanetary networks of the future, the world will look completely different.  Hundreds of years from now, today's economies will be perceived as the feudal economies of the past.

Bitcoin is widely adopted around the globe right now if we compare it with the past like about 6 to 7 years back because if you do some research, you will find out that there are a lot of services, shops, markets, and other places accepting Bitcoin as payment today, in some places such as Argentina, you can even buy properties using Bitcoin, I know this because I have read a thread here in the forum discussing this thing.

When we talk about the future of Bitcoin, we shouldn't think about it becoming legal all around the world because that might not happen, some countries and their governments will always be against Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies because they don't want to let them rule the finance department and make them lose control.

In fact, bitcoin transactions are transparent and traceable, so that everyone can see the data openly so that bitcoin transactions can be tracked, but indeed the user's problem can be anonymous by using his personal wallet.

Of course Bitcoin will be very rare in the future especially if indeed Bitcoin n becomes an anti-inflationary asset and becomes a place to store value by countries, of course bitcoin will be increasingly rare with little volatility so some people don't need to be afraid of price fluctuations, but for government control it will not be possible with its decentralized nature.

if only the government see the purpose and the impact that Bitcoin has brought to the society, then they can regulate and make Bitcoin to be Centralized but right now I don't think if they're seeing the good side of Bitcoin. I believe in the future Bitcoin will hit higher and the world will start to know what Bitcoin have, because right now in some countries the government are fighting each other's so that they can regulate and make Bitcoin to be Centralized. Hopefully in future their is hope that Bitcoin will definitely be regulated and Centralized.

I am very hopeful that bitcoin will look similar to the way it looks right now, but that transaction speeds and transaction costs go up and down, respectively. I know this is something that the developer team is hard at work on, it just seems like it’s been taking a lot longer than I ever expected. Rome wasn’t built overnight though, of course, so I’m still very hopeful when it comes to these two things in particular.

What is the future of Bitcoin?
I believe the future of bitcoin is already bright, but the problem I fear is transaction fee. Because after so many halving, it will make bitcoin more scarse and the transaction fee keeps on increasing making it almost impossible or difficult for the Common man to transact freely  so the transaction fee is becoming more expensive than usual.I fear that very soon sending $10 to a wallet may lost forever because the minimum to recieve in a wallet may be $15 or even $20.

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?
Bitcoin is, and will continue to be a great Digital asset and a store of value that everyone will wished to have owned, expecially those that didn't invest earlier or those that was doubting alot about it.

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  ;D
Bitcoin can not make everyone free. Bitcoin is not a free money rather an asset that appreciate in value in due time . So surely you must Invest and HODl for a longer period of time before expecting something tangible.

Secondly government can not control bitcoin because it's a decentralized system which implies that it is not controle by any public entity but by the nodes on the blockchain. each transaction is recorded and duplicated in the public leger among the nodes so this makes it impossible for any transaction to be tampered.

Just like what you have said, considering how Bitcoin started and how far they have gone now is already obvious that the future will be surprising for everyone because there would be a lot of positive good things about Bitcoin and however is very certain that in as much as most people are finding it very difficult to venture into Bitcoin now but as future approaches that's how people are learning and understanding the importance of investing on Bitcoin, so actually is very obvious that as time goes by that's how people will be coming in which will also attract the government to try every means if they can be able regulate or have control over Bitcoin but for me I don't think it will be possible for the government to achieve that.

In answer to what is the future of bitcoin, I will give you a simple example and through a small example you will understand what the future of bitcoin actually is. Mark the popularity of bitcoin five years ago, what was the market price of bitcoin, and mark that what is the popularity of bitcoin today and what is the price of bitcoin today.

After identifying these two things you try to find the difference between 5 years from now and the current time. Hopefully you won't have to work too hard to find the difference in Bitcoin in these five years. The popularity of Bitcoin has increased from what it was five years ago. Many multinational companies are currently supporting Bitcoin but this is a huge achievement for Bitcoin. The value of Bitcoin has changed a lot along with its popularity and if we consider the popularity and value of Bitcoin in the next five years from the present time then surely the popularity and value of Bitcoin will increase in five years from now.

I hope I have given you a fair idea of what the future of Bitcoin might look like.

for 15 years of bitcoin existence it has been a big help for many people , from those who trust and support this like me and my family and friends
so with all of those? personally? i really don't care what will bitcoin looks in the future because what I wanna enjoy is what I am having now and in the coming years.
if this will continue to progress for my second and third generation then that is something very best but what I have gained and gather from those years of being here? i believe it is something i must be thankful for bitcoin and its creator.

Yeah, A big thanks to bitcoin and its creator, bitcoin has saved many lives today because it has made people from zero to heroes since, I was born I have never seen any type of investment that is more legit than Bitcoin, although there are many cryptocurrencies but bitcoin is the best and no any investment can compete with it, we all don’t know how the bitcoin will be in future but with the way bitcoin has changed the world and it’s improving I’m very confident that bitcoin is going to be a good thing in future and it will help the next generation to come, I have never doubt anything about bitcoin because it’s a good and understanding cryptocurrency that you have to study how it is and you can decide if you can invest in it or not, I don’t know about other people but for me, my children must learn about cryptocurrency most especially about bitcoin because no one knows tomorrow and they won't depend on me all the time, there are many graduates that haven’t be employed since they graduated.

the possibility of the future may or may not happen. so for now just enjoy your life with the Bitcoins you have (if you have them).
actually, there is no need to be afraid of anything that will happen in the future. the reality is that currently, many people are benefiting from Bitcoin. We are slightly having an insight what does the Bitcoin brings to us, let's say people and government are now slowly adopting the use of it even in stores right now we are seeing they are accepting the use of the Bitcoin or other coins, it helps now to create a web3 projects that's more giving option to the users, also people now more with the market trades and additional on it is the side hustle of different projects that brings us extra income like nft, trades, investments, and etc.
If Bitcoin will become widely acceptable I guess it's hits different to the economy.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are still banned in many countries like our country but I feel that shortly given the increasing importance and utility of Bitcoin the government will have to legalize it not only legalize it but it will also be an effective step for the development of the countries if Bitcoin is traded and used in various things at the government level.

I see a lot of people looking at Bitcoin not only for trading but also as a future investment and people's confidence in Bitcoin is increasing day by day. Bitcoin is developing day by day and its fans are increasing in such a situation if the governments remove the ban on it, people's businesses will increase and the country's economy will get more support.

It is very difficult to predict the long term future, as for freedom, BTC is obviously a currency that is free of direct government control, and it is going to always be that way. However, government regulation is increasing rapidly and there is an obvious attack against privacy solutions, the government wants to know what you do with your BTC's and how and where you spend it, so i expect regulations to get worst in the future and i notice people do not care, even with etf's and all, they just want BTC price to pump without minding how far government interference gets.

To make my answer short, I don't know. When you don't know the next move of Bitcoin, it makes it more fun but if I'm to make a predictive call with what has happened in the past, Bitcoin will grow with new price discovery exceeding the previous all time high, technically it will gain more adoption like the way ETFs are pushing to own Bitcoin directly and indirectly and it will become even more scarce as Bitcoin halving will make the remaining supply more shrink.

I'm not sure about freedom because not everyone will be free, not everyone will ever accept that Bitcoin is useful, they don't care if it goes up or down, there believe remain the same and this is why Bitcoin will not be used by everyone.

Tight regulations will ensue later because it's seems that's what the government are trying to do as institutional investors are now seeing it as the next big investments to their portfolios but can't be controlled because regulation is subjective to countries, not all countries will want to regulate nor adopt.

judging from when Bitcoin was launched way back in Jan,3rd 2009 till date 2024 that's roughly about 15years of existence. If a project would fail it would fail long time ago so, you don't need a sooth sayer to tell you we are unstoppable. 8)
Bitcoin keeps growing on its equity curve year after year making a great store of value today.
when the fiat money was introduced to us as a means of exchange for goods& services by the government, if the majority had not accepted it, it would have been tough. In the case of btc the majority are gradually embracing the fantastic idea of btc to be even way much better than the one the government brought to us as it keeps adding great value to it's holders.
So to rap it all in the future I think the government would be bent to the masses opinion making this legal and we'll all be fine.

I can I agree with you about regulation of bitcoin in the future,. Bitcoin may gain more popularity and will be accepted more but at the same time  the range of regulation will still be very high because the government believe that the public can use bitcoin as a means to secure their funds from anyone having details about it.  What we are seeing about bitcoin today, in the future everything concerning bitcoin will be more. More investors,  more adoption and the government would also want to regulate it more but it will be so tough for them because of the much adoption and how Bitcoin will become more advanced by then.

Bitcoin has come a long way. It has become something that is preferred and trusted when it comes to investing. One of the most difficult decisions in the market is to find an investment instrument to trust. Bitcoin has become one of the trusted investment instruments. We can see this from the increasing number of investors and the fact that it has been generating returns on long-term investment for years.

I don't think Bitcoin can be controlled by governments. There are a lot of negative scenarios floating around, but I don't think they will come true. It's very difficult to control a structure with limited supply and the market won't allow it.

If we can be perfectly good at tracing back all where Bitcoin started from then we can sight a positive results over time. In as much, within those periods we still have the down side of it but judging on it's acceptability from different countries, companies and business we can at most attest to facts that we are heading in the right direction and with more time in the future their will be more adoption compared to what we have now.

The odds should be less for Bitcoin to be controlled by the government, it was created against such purposes, so we don't assume to see it happen anytime soon, they may try (already trying) but all should be to no avail.

Like I said, Whitney Webb and Edward Snowden say some scary stuff about the possible future of Bitcoin, mostly about loss of privacy (and thus, indirect government control and surveillance).
the possibility of the future may or may not happen. so for now just enjoy your life with the Bitcoins you have (if you have them).
actually, there is no need to be afraid of anything that will happen in the future. the reality is that currently, many people are benefiting from Bitcoin. Its users are increasing and its popularity is increasing. Maybe some beginners are afraid it will make them panic. and that's what frustrates many novice investors.

No one really holds what will be the future of bitcoin, or it won’t have any brighter future instead. So I have to agree with you that we should not dwell so much with the future of bitcoin but focus and enjoy what we have at the present. If it’s going to live for another decade, that would be a lot better, but if it’s not, then we have no choice but to accept the reality that bitcoin is just only good for a single decade. What’s more important is that bitcoin has provided us a lot of benefits at the present, and we are very grateful for it. But when it comes to its future, that will remain uncertain for all of us here.

What is the future of Bitcoin?

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  ;D
Bitcoin is a digital Gold and this is where it's more likely head to take its full role, Institution has understood this and this is why we are seeing the smart money starting to position their investment in Bitcoin. In as much as your Bitcoin is a noncustodial wallet, then no one can control it, we will likely see more regulation come into play in the coming years ahead from different governments of the world as to how people would go about investing in Bitcoin and I see more countries trying to tax its citizens who are involved in Bitcoin after they must have fully realized that they can't totally control it.

judging from when Bitcoin was launched way back in Jan,3rd 2009 till date 2024 that's roughly about 15years of existence. If a project would fail it would fail long time ago so, you don't need a soothsayer to tell you we are unstoppable.

A project can be alive for 20 years and still fail. How old Bitcoin is and how much it has flourished isn't reason enough to determine why it won't fail. Saying Bitcoin won't fail because of how long it has succeeded doesn't do Bitcoin justice. Bitcoin has succeeded for so long because of its features.

The value of every currency, asset, or commodity is determined by the demand and supply of that asset or commodity. There are other factors like cost of production and all, but it all boils down to demand and supply. If there is no demand for that particular asset or currency, the value would be reduced. If there is a high demand and the supply is way higher than the demand, then the value would drop because one thing that increases value is scarcity. Bitcoin checks all these boxes.
One thing Bitcoin has over fiat and altcoins is its limited supply. The market cannot be flooded with billions of bitcoin just as it is with other cryptocurrencies. Going back to excess supply, that's why most altcoins aren't worth shit, but they have a high market cap. Flooding the market with a particular coin removes scarcity and when something is not scarce, it has no value.

Another feature that makes Bitcoin unstoppable is its decentralised nature. No centralised or particular entity owns it. It's owned and controlled by the people in the market. This way no particular person is responsible for adding value to Bitcoin online shares. This creates room for demand and supply to function freely.
These are just two main reasons I believe Bitcoin won't fail.

Look, nothing's gonna last forever. Nothing does. Change is the only constant, right? Dharma of life is that. Still, Bitcoin is unique. Its got a limited supply. Not like the government does with dollars, you cannot simply print more of it. Such scarcity is quite significant. Bitcoin is also uncontrolled by anybody. Its decentralized. It is money of the people. Thats power, folks. Thats freedom. The key is to know how the system functions and where the actual value lies, not to become attached to anything in particular.

Sure, the future's uncertain. Has always been and will always be. But Bitcoin's built on solid principles. Its got staying power. And thats something worth paying attention to.

if only the government see the purpose and the impact that Bitcoin has brought to the society, then they can regulate and make Bitcoin to be Centralized but right now I don't think if they're seeing the good side of Bitcoin.
It's not like the government doesn't know about bitcoin or what it's worth or influence on society; the truth of the matter is just that they are afraid of what Bitcoin will do in the future, taking over money from the way they usually control their citizens financial systems to another level.

where the system will use a method where the government no longer has to decide when they can spend their money, how much they can spend, and can't even tax most of their transactions again. Those are the things I believe are part of the reason why most countries governments don't want to fully accept bitcoin.

Bitcoin is currently the most popular cryptocurrency among virtual investments. As big companies are now investing in Bitcoin and the popularity of Bitcoin is increasing day by day, governments of different countries will try to regulate Bitcoin. Attempts are being made to maximize control of Bitcoin through technological developments. Since many people think that money laundering is done through Bitcoin, Bitcoin is not viewed favorably by the governments of many countries. But Bitcoin is currently going to become an asset like gold. The number of Bitcoin users and investors may increase in the future.

Frankly, no one can boldly speak of what bitcoin will become in the future but with how things are now, it strings shows that bitcoin has come to stay for good.
A lot is going on in the cryptocurrency  and bitcoin industry but not enough to kill our hope for bitcoin and I think the government is already pushing their ways around bitcoin because currently in Africa, we could see how a lot of regulatory changes are pushing crypto away and I’m sure for bitcoin to be accepted in such countries, it might be bent to follow some regulations and also remember that what ever has the potential to generate profit ought to be tax and since bitcoin is already proving to hold and earn some profits, that has dragged the attention of the government to it and it might be difficult for the government not to tax it.

Bitcoin will make a lot of people free tomorrow especially those who believe in it today and seize the opportunities it offers today

I have to agree with this as I think this is what is going to happen, Bitcoin is going to become more popular but as for what it is going to look like in the future, I don't think anybody knows about that but we can only be guessing. Bitcoin is already being considered as a form of money but the government don't like Bitcoin therefore they might try to kill it or adopt it in the future we don't know.  Bitcoin can't make everybody to be free but only those that believe in it.

Having Bitcoin in a non constodial wallet is better as we don't know if the governments of our different countries will accept or not accept Bitcoin as a form of currency allow to function in the country but if we have Bitcoin in our non constodial wallets, we're free to use Bitcoin without the government of our country knowing about it.

Everyone have the choice for what they want to do with Bitcoin but the common goal among every Bitcoiner is for the purpose of making profit. Even in those countries where Bitcoin is ban, there are still other means through which some citizens in those countries are accumulating Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a decentralized asset and you don't need the permission of anyone to own it and you can as well own it without the knowledge of anybody.

It is true that the most common purpose why they are interested in bitcoin is because of the benefits they get in adding now many generations easily switch to bitcoin rather than the stock market.

Actually, every country has rules about bitcoin, some prohibit and legalize it.
As in my country where bitcoin is legal as a commodity asset as long as it does not become a means of payment then it will be illegal even when someone does it it will be arrested.

With a lot of investment interest in bitcoin this is actually an advantage for the country because everyone will be taxed from this tax the government can generate a lot of revenue.

Not for all regions - every country is different. You can still say that many people in your country or people in your circle of friends are more interested in bitcoin than stocks - but that does not represent everyone in your country because there are many other people who are interested in the stock market. Of course - it's about their interest and confidence in an investment asset.

Actually, every country has rules about bitcoin, some prohibit and legalize it.

How is that possible - someone who uses bitcoin as a means of payment anonymously will be arrested, unless they do it in a public place.

In countries that prohibit the use of bitcoin as a means of payment - you are still very likely to find someone to pay you in bitcoin anonymously or through a centralized exchange. This is only recorded as the activity of moving Bitcoin from one address to another without knowing the purpose, unless you announce it publicly.

With a lot of investment interest in bitcoin this is actually an advantage for the country because everyone will be taxed from this tax the government can generate a lot of revenue.
Hmm - yes, that is a great source of revenue for the government. That's why they regulate instead of banning bitcoin trading completely.

Bitcoin is the future, so people will surely increase their motivation with bitcoin as to how they can maximize it, rather than focusing on fiat where its value depreciates in time. In addition, bitcoin is certainly a digital gold so more than the real value of other investments, bitcoin remains on top of others, most especially if Bitcoin promotion and adaption will continue to increase a lot.

What would happen if the largest number of Bitcoins were concentrated in the same hands? Have you thought about that? What decentralization can we talk about under such a condition? This is what matters and this is the question that should be answered. This is the danger. There is already a tendency for large investment funds to have a significant amount of coins in their accounts. What should we do in such a case?

Which certainly won't be as far away as what you see now and will likely continue to gain wider adoption so that bitcoin will appear at a fantastic new price. If we talk about freedom, we definitely find it in bitcoin because basically investing in bitcoin does not require the involvement of other people and that means we are free to make our own decisions. The essence of government regulation is no longer rational because bitcoin assets have grown and developed and they can never be regulated or simply limited as many people fear.

If the government could regulate and control bitcoin then it would have done it long ago. But what happens is that bitcoin grows and develops because of its strength and that is why people consider bitcoin to be the best asset for the long term. Whatever theory you try to put forward there is no chance of limiting, controlling or being regulated in such a way by the government because that is not how bitcoin works.

Yeeh because that's what I encountered from my circle of friends in my area they are more into bitcoin than stocks - whereas for other countries maybe I agree with you where there are differences in their investment interests.

How is that possible - someone who uses bitcoin as a means of payment anonymously will be arrested, unless they do it in a public place.

If anonymously it will never be caught, but publicly then YES, I saw where there was a case in my country of a car rental person receiving crypto payments from foreign tourists when caught then immediately arrested by the police.

The activity of moving between wallets will not be known, so I mean where they pay in stores that accept bitcoin, but that's not true because it's prohibited.

Hmm - yes, that is a great source of revenue for the government. That's why they regulate instead of banning bitcoin trading completely.
Imagine the government receiving $30 million more per year, even this will continue to increase government revenue in my country.

It is undeniable that Bitcoin has provided benefits to everyone, and this will continue to be the main investment besides gold I think,
and for the government it seems that it is only local exchanges that they can regulate not for  bitcoin,
bitcoin will be initially regulated without government intervention and the nature of its ownership will always be anonymous as long as the owner does not make a statement that they own bitcoin

we should know that bitcoin is going up not down, because what they expected in price of bitcoin when it was established is not something they are observing now, because far back 2009 bitcoin was introduced they don't have that mindset that bitcoin price will continue to increase, but right away government can not stop the existence of bitcoin but they can stop existence of exchange because is done in a centralized way, so I believe that exchange is effected bitcoin can not be affected because bitcoin itself is a decentralized currency

On the side of regulating it, they have already seen that there is no way that they can control Bitcoin, so what they are doing now is regulating those firms that deal in bitcoin through those centralised systems. Now they can control how their citizens make use of Bitcoin, tax it, and freeze user accounts, which makes it very easy for them to tackle and still control.

Bitcoin will continue to attract more investors because despite the volatility thing, every investor wants to see a good result at the end, some investor already understand the concept and the fact that Bitcoin is a longterm investment  so before the will think of investing in Bitcoin, they have already position their mind on the long-term since they know that it is the only way to benefit, taking about monetary system and cryptocurrency in general, Bitcoin has no rival, it is the only  decentarlized and digital currency whose price surpass others, this is the reason why many whales has much confidence in the continues holding of their Bitcoin asset.
The DCA strategy of Bitcoin has made it more exceptional too, that's to say that excuses in terms investment shouldn't be intertained again, every prepared can invest at any time once the basic knowledge is present.

People today are "still" earlyish adopters - which is crazy in my opinion.

What the government is banning is banning people from using bitcoin, they are ready to impose heavy penalties if someone stubbornly defies the ban. But even so, can you guarantee that people will strictly comply or will they still quietly invest in bitcoin? For example: Bangladesh is a country that is still harsh on bitcoin but did you know that many Bangladeshi are still investing in bitcoin and some are even active on our forum? Governments can only issue bans on their citizens, they have no way to completely stop bitcoin.

If they could have banned it they wouldn't have legalized it with a bunch of regulations, they clearly failed to ban it and instead were looking to control it. But how effective the control is depends on each government because as far as I know, many investors still avoid taxes, including you and me. I guess you yourself are using bitcoin to avoid taxes, so how do they control you?

Predicting the future of Bitcoin is tricky. Since its start in 2009, Bitcoin's seen massive growth, adoption, and volatility.

Looking ahead, it could become more mainstream, with wider acceptance in commerce and as an investment. Regulations will likely tighten, which might bring stability but also challenges. Technological advancements could improve its scalability and security. However, it also faces competition from other cryptocurrencies and potential regulatory hurdles. The future’s uncertain, but Bitcoin’s likely to remain a significant player in the digital currency world.

We don't know what will happen to Bitcoin in the future, but I think its users will increase, especially if we think about the children who are currently learning this technology since they were small. Additionally, perhaps the government will add some regulations to bitcoin when its price becomes very high. Moreover, bitcoin still has a decentralized system, so I think when the price rises, the government will tighten the regulations.

We cannot possibly know for sure, but we could try to do better with it. I believe that a lot of people are overreacting to it right now, and we should consider how we could do better. Too many people are doing something not that great, and I understand that perfectly, we are just not that greatly happy about it. I know that it will take a while, and I am very well aware that nothing is that terrible.

We should just consider the fact that it will grow and be higher. Not only that the price will go up, which it will, but we will have more people using it and more places that accepts it as well. That is inevitable future for bitcoin and I do not think that we are going to have anything else, that just seems like the future without alternatives.

How bitcoin fits into daily life will determine its destiny, not just its price. It have developed from a little idea to a major business, and that expansion will continue. Bitcoin alters money thinking and use as well as its value.

Trusting each other is crucial. Trust is created via traditional ways by banks. Now, Bitcoin spreads trust. This reform could make money exchanges clearer and more democratic. As more people and corporations utilize Bitcoin, it may become more stable and accepted. Not only are we investing, but we're also preparing financial institutions for a digital era.

You have good reason to be worried - adoption takes time and understanding. The first doubts will fade as this technology spreads, and what remains could change how we trust and do business globally.

It is true that the most common purpose why they are interested in bitcoin is because of the benefits they get in adding now many generations easily switch to bitcoin rather than the stock market.

Upon that, there are a lot of people in every country who are still into stock investment. Some of them prefer stock because they are not yet used to Bitcoin technology, and some people don't like the volatile nature of Bitcoin without realizing that volatility will still cause the price to surge high and generate more profit for them in the future because Bitcoin is a store of value. I told some of my friends that if they really understood how Bitcoin works, they might be convinced to invest in it.

It is true that no one can guarantee Bitcoin in the future and I agree with what you say, we can see historically that Bitcoin adoption will continue to increase and even though some people believe that past events cannot necessarily be repeated, everyone will still accumulate Bitcoin. because this asset has the potential to be able to enjoy profits over a long period of time and because Bitcoin is not regulated by any government, of course this will make someone confident that they will continue to collect it because there is no interest of any group that will exist in Bitcoin so that they move volatility.
I believe that "our" future will be fine with bitcoin, I understand that our grandchildrend's grandchildren may live in a totally different world (one where humanity hopefully solved its issues and not destroyed it) but I am talking about just our lifetime and bitcoin should be fine for retirement for example. Thinking about that part, I believe that we are going to be fine and nothing will be that scary, things should be easy to handle in the end.

We are going to of course have some more issues in the distant future, it is not going to be all that easy to keep bitcoin at the top, but I also believe that we could defend against all the troubles that could come, if only we could stick together and not really have any issues.

Those who are or have been in traditional financial markets will have a hard time getting into the cryptocurrency market because the nature of both markets is extremely different and for someone to migrate from one to another, it would take a lot of time and I don't think one would want to stop trading in the market they have been for years to learn and get into the other market where they will have to learn everything from scratch.

I know that financial markets generally have a lot of similarities, but those similarities aren't enough to make you comfortable trading in a new market after leaving the old one or even if you are not leaving the old one, you will still need to do a lot of learning before you enter the new one.

If someone can afford, they should keep doing it on both sides, of course, if time permits as well.

As it is now , those conservatives bankers from the traditional methods are still confused of the cryptocurrency world. About from joke the cryptocurrency ecosystem is complicated so it is not easy for those guys to just come and use it. To use cryptocurrency, there are some rigorous processes to follow and if your are not knowledgeable on them then you can't use it and at the end you might lose your funds to scammers because they will come as the form of Angels to help you and since your are not conversant with the system, you will fall for their traps.

And from my four sight of the future of bitcoin, I see dominant of bitcoin over any other currency in the world those bitcoin will not replace any country currency but they will be used alongside. But the price of Bitcoin will be high.

Well, I love how you concluded your statement, but what you should also know is that investing in Bitcoin doesn't require too much energy and time. While investing in stocks, you can still invest in bitcoin. I love and so much believe in the idea of diversifying one's investing so that you know that you are expecting profit from different channels and not only one. If you invest in different channels, you will be more safe, so if one is having issues, you will still have the other to fall back on.

What is the future of Bitcoin?

We know where it was in 2009, where it is now (2024), but where is it going?

Will it make everyone free? Will it be regulated and become government controlled?
All normal and crazy theories please  ;D
Bitcoin is always soaring to the sky and I don't see any centralize control anytime soon and besides in order to control something you actually need to the source creator of that thing and since they really don't know who Satoshi is, I think we are covered. For me where I see Bitcoin in the future, it will be all the rave as many nations too will adopt it use with effective results from the ones that have been actively using it like El Salvador.

What I have come to realize is that Bitcoin will sour high and it will be difficult for people to acquire it because of were the price will be in the future. Those who are going to buy it will buy at a very high price so if one is not building himself financially or not allocating some disposable funds inside Bitcoin then when the the time comes in the future the demand will be high but only a few will be able to afford it. Now is the best chance for anyone to acquire Bitcoin while they can. Time will come when only those who have Bitcoin will be on greater profit.

At the moment, there is arguably a 0.002% bitcoin adoption so it has a long way to go.

People today are "still" earlyish adopters - which is crazy in my opinion.

Unless its price become unaffordable, it's still early. Taking into consideration how it has grown and keep growing from its inception, the earlier and current generation are very early to the new technology. From the beginning, only few people adopted bitcoin and the percentage of adopters continues to rise despite kickback from government. The adoption rate will keep growing higher as some governments are giving greenlight to its adoption.

To Op, no one can tell exactly where bitcoin is going but one thing is certain here. It will continue to showcase its nature of fluctuation and hitting all time high on timely basis, retract back and continue growing again as it's doing now. By the way, it's not meant to make everyone free and government can not take full control of it.

It's obvious Bitcoin will experience a great pump compared to where it is now but that doesn't mean it would be difficult to acquire. Besides Bitcoin, there are smaller units called Satoshi which is very affordable and based on the amount you want to buy, Satoshi are what makes DCA possible because afford a whole Bitcoin would be difficult for the poor however Satoshi Nakamoto was smart enough to have made provision should in case things expand and, based on his calculation he is accurate in his thinking. There are several fact that proves Bitcoin will appreciate in value, the concept of demand and supply has explains that scarcity will make the value of a product to increase even as the demand remains constant of increases.
