Title: How can I hide the source of my Ether without Tornado Cash?
Post by: ChrisfromLees on June 11, 2024, 11:53:03 PM
I want to hide the source of my Ether, for legitimate privacy reasons, before sending a payment. How can I do this legally with Tornado Cash gone?

Mixers are being banned from left to right so finding for an alternative might serve as a challenge. Instead I would recommend for you to use wallets that prioritize privacy more than anything. There are wallets that allow you to generate multiple different addresses for each transaction to be made.

Tornado Cash isn’t gone. You will just have to use a different frontend and connect your wallet to an RPC provider that doesn’t censor Tornado Cash to interact with their smart contract. You can also use a wallet that is integrated with Railgun’s privacy system (https://railgun.org/wallets.html) to anonymize your activity.

There was a guide posted here yesterday but it seems like it was deleted!? Can anyone tell me if this would work, and/or why the comment got deleted?

It is obvious you created an alt account just so you can reply to your own topic and promote your website with affiliate links, that is why it was deleted. You could have just posted a guide without the fake interactions and lame shill attempt. As for how effective swapping to Monero would be, it is probably better to do it through a peer-to-peer exchange or through an atomic swap than using a centralized service. Instant exchanges aren’t meant to be mixers. Chainanalysis can see when you deposit tainted funds on an instant exchange, law enforcement could just come to them and ask to see their logs.

So that was the link and guide that you've seen yesterday? If someone reported it to be an unnecessary thread and then the mods decided to delete it, that's the discretion of the mod to delete and it's inappropriate so you'll no longer find it.

But, was there really a thread yesterday because I haven't noticed it?

And as for that link, if you think that it will work for you then do it but if you're the author of that article, you're telling to just convert your BTC/Ethereum into Monero.

This is probably because goes under the rule where promotion of all mixers is no longer be allowed (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5476162.0) in bitcointalk. Frankly, i am wondering if this rule eventually lead to banning all talk about how you can turn Moneros to cash. Because that's basically goes under same violation of obfuscating the source of the money.

I guess this thread could be deleted as well, if there is enough responses on how to.
