Title: [SHOW&TELL] Block Family - BTCC 25 BTC Error and Ballet 2020 Halving
Post by: raghavsood on June 16, 2024, 06:39:06 PM
While I'm here, going to share another incredible set.

A family, separated by hundreds of thousands of generations, reunited.

The BTCC 25 BTC Error Block is a 1-of-1 manufactured by BTCC back in 2016. It contains the block reward for blocks 418419 (https://burned.money/block/418419) and 418427 (https://burned.money/block/418427).

It is the only error block in that series, and contains 50.71528925 BTC.

I also have it's great-great-great-(way too many greats)-grandchild, the Ballet Halving Block from 2020 - This contains the block reward for block 650648 (https://burned.money/block/650648), totalling just over 7 BTC after transaction fees.

The photos aren't great, but if there's enough interest I can get them out of their safe space and do a higher quality shot with some other pieces.

Wow... those look great. Congrats!!  8)
I haven't seen the double funded one since I assisted you with the transaction.
Very cool to see this piece of physical crypto history

these are awesome relics! if you ever break down and peel them please give me a chance to buy the peeled blanks - a peeled one is the only way I will ever be able to afford one lol

Hopefully won't need you to assist with its sale any time soon - planning on holding these for a long long time :)

I can't recommend MJ enough - he has helped me with probably over a 100 international sales and acquisitions at this point, never lost a piece, never had a bad experience.

I believe the double block especially would have been peeled if MJ hadn't been able to work things out and help me acquire it.

That would be quite a raffle - for the double block alone, 16 tickets at face value would exceed today's block reward!

I wonder what's the biggest item that's been successfully raffled...

I very much hope that day never comes :)

My plan for most of my 1-of-1s is to hold them and pass them on, or eventually part with them at multiples of their face value in a few decades.

I'm hoping Ballet does a new block for the current era so the family can grow

Oh holy good fcuk, this is in the unobtanium sector.

Very nice and very well done!

Over on my pyramid thread the likes of Coldkey would be even outside any placing on that
pyramid of collectibles, these along with the Bitbills set. would also be outside the pyramid
but at the opposite end!

There was a brief mention of a thread dedicated to pics of members collectibles, if that
ever happened, these of the Bitbills set should be the first post perhaps?

About 58BTC or 3.8 million dollars face value as of today between both blocks.

This is really rather impressive. Kudos to you that you were able to accumulate such an excellent set.

Some people consider a Bugatti the peak of lux, status and attainment. Us bitcoin geeks consider these types of things as the pinnacle of success instead.

I am guessing that this set is in the range of a pretty high-end Bugatti in terms of price?

Ah yes I remember that, it should be pinned to the top of the board, would Cyrus be
able to take care of that?
