Title: Multiple newbie accounts promoting the same sketchy service
Post by: Ultegra134 on June 19, 2024, 05:48:43 AM
A large number of newbie ranked accounts have been posting the exact same messages, translated into other languages and are spamming the local boards with a service they're promoting. They've spammed most of local boards already, by a different account each time. It's safe to assume that they're all alts of the same person, translating from one language to another. I wasn't sure if this was worth reporting, but the supposedly main thread of this "service" looks sketchy and is consisted of replies of their own alt accounts to appear that they have an audience.

If it's worth creating a thread, it's worth reporting, report the thread with a link to the users profle and let mods decide how to act. All of those users don't have any bump value so if the main thread is in an announcement board they wouldn't get to the top pages.

I noticed this some weeks ago and it is just a coordinated spam attack by the same user under different accounts. I reported as many of their threads that I came across and they were mostly deleted. As for me, I'll keep on reporting them wherever I see such threads. They'll not be easy to deal with but with time as long as no real user gives the engagement, they'll be a thing of the past. Or plot another scheme of spam attack. And the cycle will continue.

@Ultegra134, try to report each of the accounts individually with a link to their post history, and I hope that some mod instead of deleting posts will nuke all accounts - that's the only logical punishment. Newbies should not be able to post links until they prove they deserve it.

I've already reported them with a link to this thread. Hopefully, the accounts will get deleted and the posts removed. Not only are they spamming the whole forum, but also promoting a sketchy service. I'm supporting your opinion and I also believe that newbies shouldn't be allowed to post links, perhaps you could make it a forum suggestion.

Posts and accounts are all deleted and banned. Bitcointalk because of its popularity has become the target of spam SEO I have not come across the platform they are promoting but if the platforms they are promoting are legal and related to Cryptocurrency they should just open one announcement thread and update the thread if there is news about the platform they are promoting.

Wow, I didn't expect such a fast response. All accounts have been banned, and the posts have been deleted. That's good news; the forum has a few fewer spammers and a reasonable amount of gibberish posts gone. Locking this topic now, as it's no longer needed.
