Title: business ideas related to or involving Bitcoin
Post by: DrHodler59 on June 19, 2024, 07:32:24 PM
Hello!

I wanted to ask if any of you have any ideas/thought inspirations for potential business ideas (own small store/shop) related to or involving Bitcoin?

I'm aware that I could simply offer Bitcoin as a payment alternative... Of course, I would do that as well, but I'm looking for something with a bit more connection to Bitcoin.

Perhaps some of you have cool and exciting ideas that we could discuss, or maybe you've visited an interesting business idea during a trip abroad (e.g., El Salvador, Venezuela, etc.) that could serve as inspiration.

Thank you very much for your responses!

Yours sincerely,

DrHodler59

Some ideas:

Bitcoin collectibles Physical coins (like Casascius), bitcoin art, things like framed 2009 The Times article, t-shirts and other stuff related to bitcoin.
Maybe a business where you print and engrave stuff, including bitcoin logos, people's addresses so that they're visible on people's personal items.

I don't know what your background is. For instance if you're in car detailing, you could make wraps with bitcoin related stuff and place them on people's cars if they want to drive with their wallet QR code on a bumper and such.

I've heard that reselling and refurbishing used mining equipment can pay well, but you have to know how to do it.

Start e-commerce that people can use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for paying for what they are ordering for

If you have enough money, you can begin an exchange service

P2P buying and selling of bitcoin is another one that you can go for

You can make any service offer like tell the people that you are accepting bitcoin.

These are the one that comes my mind right now.

If the OP cannot utilise buying/selling via a website your suggestion of collectibles might be a good first step especially for any items that date back to 2009/2010 as they would have a lot of value.

Start e-commerce that people can use bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for paying for what they are ordering for
Without knowing the background skills the OP possesses it will be difficult to understand what ideas he might be open to but would he really want to rely on other people to create and maintain his websites and have to pay them for their services? Maybe he will feel far more comfortable doing something else on the lines of what what was suggested by coolcoinz because it removes intermediaries but that is for the OP to expand on.

Business ideas with Bitcoin involvement buddy as you know in every business there's always the flow of money between two parties as a payment mode, also you can provide some of the services in Bitcoin similar to that role as a payment mode. Already some of the businesses here locally accepted payment and offered some kind of discounts in Bitcoin.

I'm not sure what kind of business ideas you are asking.

If your idea is a small store/shop as you wrote in the OP:

I don't know where you're located, but many people do not have access to a store selling goods covering basic needs (clothing, grocery articles) with Bitcoin and for a competitive price. Most stores in my country which accept Bitcoin either only offer a limited range of mainly high-priced and imported goods (for example phones), hospitality (hotels/apartments for tourists), or they are demanding a large premium (think of the Amazon resellers).

Entering this niche can be a business idea, but of course you have to research if the market with the goods you're wanting to sell is already saturated. Also research which gift cards are sold in your country via Bitrefill, because gift cards of course compete with physical goods.

Alternatively you could provide gift cards yourself cooperating with businesses which are still not accessible on sites like Bitrefill and could have demand from Bitcoiners.

If the goods you're selling are low-cost, I would also suggest to accept other cryptocurrencies like LTC or XMR, because they are more convenient due to their lower transaction fees.

A Bitcoin ATM. I can't remember but a stranger, a real one approached me about it on the web but it's not from here and then talked about it. I know that it requires a capital but he didn't pushed me about that, he's probably just another enthusiasts and this was way back long time ago. I can't date it back on when it was exactly. But for now, I'd agree to him that this is going to be a good business when we start to see that the adoption rate is increasing for Bitcoin. You earn from the cut or commission for every transaction and we all knew about how expensive the fees are but your target markets are the new comers. I have no idea how much it costs to build one.

I ain't gone over everyone else exciting ideas and probably more adventurous but this is what i got so far.

https://BuyPTCGOnlineLive.Codes

I'm working on a discord bot that allows manually/automatic payment for Bitcoin or Ethereum.

These codes that I have stocked up on are worth anywhere from 10p to £9.99 depending how we go about it.

Any business can be related to bitcoin nowadays, just put it somewhere in your business that you accept bitcoin as a payment and you'd be set for life. Also, it's nice that you're asking for ideas of business that you can start with the help of bitcoin or that's something bitcoin related but you have to remember that what works the best for you might be the thing that you need to work out on because you might think that the idea right now that's recommended to you is good business that you can do but then when you're doing it, you suddenly realize that this isn't it.

For me, from what I experienced about lacking in the market right now is a Bitcoin payment gateway.
It's a system that will serve as a bridge to business owners to consumers to accept Bitcoin as payments for their businesses.

I believe there are still a few businesses that doing this and as a business, there will be a lot of requirements for selecting a good Bitcoin payment gateway.

You have to consider many things from both sides for a business operator, entrepreneur and customers.

Accepting Bitcoin will bring advantage and disadvantage. As a business operator, you must consider some things like.
How the customer payments in bitcoin, to your business wallet, will be stored. It relates to security of your business fund, treasury that must be secured and safe.
What will you do with customer payments? Do you store it as your business investment in Bitcoin or will you have to sell it to get money for your business operation?
It decides your plan to hold your bitcoin from customer payments or sell it immediately after receiving.
Marketing, how do you attract customers to your business and convince them to use bitcoin as payment method?
If you have to do discount for them, it can affect your business budget, net ROI.

As customers, they have to think of extra on chain transaction fee if they use Bitcoin blockchain as payment method. They will have to ask whether your business take care of their on chain transaction fee.
Customers will not be ready to pay extra fee.

Lightning Network can be a good choice for business with not big transactions from customers.

Bitcoin was designed to be a currency so you can only use it as a payment method for your business, and you can't do anything else with it. And if you are looking for business ideas based on bitcoin, the same way children's toy designers rely on superhero movies to create models of Marvell or DC superheroes, you can also take advantage of this idea with bitcoin. It will all depend on your field and expertise as well as the demand in your area, as coolcoinz suggests: physical coins, logos, toys...

For example, in my country, some fashion businesses sell clothes, hats, shoes...all with bitcoin logos or related to cryptocurrency. In addition, there are cafes with spaces and interiors designed with bitcoin logos or images, and Lego bitcoin models are displayed around the cafe...

I don't think there's other promising business idea except selling merchandises about Bitcoin especially you lack of capital.

If you offer something not related to Bitcoin, the buyers don't care with Bitcoin and they most likely will pay with other payment method.

But, if you sell things about Bitcoin, the buyers most likely Bitcoin enthusiast or interested with Bitcoin, they may likely pay with Bitcoin even though it would cost them more.

In country like El-Salvador where bitcoin is made a legal tender, you can easily engage on various enterprises that can encourage for the use of bitcoin and this can includes branding on bitcoin logo, use of printable materials like stickers, handbills, fliers, and customized bitcoin materials fir people to buy and resell, one csn make a large production of wny of this items and sell in whole sales, render services ad well that encourage for the acceptance of payment in bitcoin.

Banks in my country a restricted from making some amount of payments to customers. Businesses and individuals have a limit they can withdraw or transfer. This limitation is affecting businesses that need to make payments both locally and internationally. I know some importers who are having problems with their international partners because of this problem. Convincing them to accept Bitcoin and providing such services can be profitable.  Having a payment service where the firm can help individuals and businesses make payments using Bitcoin will be a good one. This service can help businesses invade this restriction affecting them negatively.

Well, I think first you have to consider the business you can do very well and not just any business you feel like you should do because another person is doing it. There are lots of businesses, ranging from grocery stores, food marts, coffee shops, cyber cafes, clothing shops and other fashion accessory shops, barbing saloons, etc. You have to be decisive about the kind of business you have the skill for and the one you can do passionately. After you have decided the kind of business you want to start, rent a shop and buy your needed goods. Next is to introduce Bitcoin Payment as your second payment option.

Bitcoin is known as cryptocurrency so it is obvious that to best utilize Bitcoin in a business related activity, one must integrate Bitcoin as payment method.  I bet @OP had already know about this.  If you are thinking about which business can maximize Bitcoin's potential then I think an online store or online platform is the best option since Bitcoin is best for online transactions.

Bitcoin collectibles are also a good option but I think there are lots of option that is much better than that in terms of profit.  You can also create a freelancing platform that can mediate job orders and freelancers and offer them Bitcoin as a mode of payment.

Well, I think first you have to consider the business you can do very well and not just any business you feel like you should do because another person is doing it. Either way, no matter what kind of business @OP is good with it is given that the best to utilize Bitcoin in terms of business establishment is to use it as currency, then it is up to @OP whether he will convert it as the transaction goes or hold it for future profit.

When it comes on having that decision on making up some business then it would really be something that will be needed up for you to think off well or something that will really be that getting in line with your passion and not really just trying out to copy others just because you've seen that they are successful with it just like on what you have said but if we do speak for the sake of Bitcoin or involving Bitcoin into the business then it would really be just that fine because payment options and alternatives could really be that applied. It would really be just that important on how you would really eb choosing up on what business that you would really be gonna tend to build up. Anything could really be that be made with, it is really just that on how you would really be that handling out things specially when running or having a business or investment.

Just make it sure that at the moment that you will really be that trying out to have that integration then check out if Bitcoin or crypto generally is really that allowed or being
recognized into your place and not really having those kind of known issues.

When you are considering to add Bitcoin to your business for business treasury and for business payment method list with different options for customers, you have many things to deeply analyze for cost and benefit.

As a business, what will you, as an operator of it, do with bitcoins received from your customers?
Cash it out instantly after receiving.
Sell it to stable coin after receiving.
Store it in your business treasury with a plan of holding.

The third option means your business must have deep budget and don't have need to rotate money and cash out bitcoins received from customers too often. But budget must be available to use for long time, to avoid risk of selling bitcoin in bear market.

As far as I know, as a businessman or entrepreneur, you will receive more special benefits from the bank than ordinary users. Banks will provide more services and incentives to business customers so I am a bit surprised that banks in your country are introducing restrictions on businesses. That not only hinders the development of businesses but also directly affects the interests of banks and the country's economy. What happens in your country is completely opposite to my country, banks in my country always offer the best incentives and policies for businesses because they are big, potential customers.

If your business wants to use bitcoin and persuade partners to use bitcoin as a payment method between the two parties. It is a good solution because bitcoin will solve the limitations set by banks but you need to consider its volatility because bitcoin does not always increase in price and bring more profits. If it is dumped, how will you and your partner handle it? Using bitcoin as a payment method for businesses will also have pros and cons, it is not as perfect as you think.

Whatever you love doing that's probably where you might want to take inspiration from for your business. That's probably the ideal way of doing business as it will probably be less stressful.

I once thought of selling Bitcoin merchandise in the past. I eventually discarded the idea upon realizing that a simple Bitcoin shirt might attract unnecessary dangers. That's even if I didn't plan to even put the Bitcoin logo. I was only thinking of prints like We are Satoshi or Satoshi Lives or the Bitcoin genesis block or the Bitcoin supply formula.

There are a thousand products with Bitcoin designs you can sell. You might want to consider it.

I've seen different Bitcoin-related projects. Some have something like a Bitcoin store where you can buy Bitcoin-related merch, such as T-shirts or caps with Bitcoin logo. I think I've also seen a Bitcoin pub, where you can buy drinks and some food, but the glasses will have Bitcoin logos, the area is Bitcoin-themed, and you can pay with Bitcoin, of course. All such stuff is cool in theory, but I don't know how well it works in practice. I suppose that depends strongly on the location and whether there are many people who are interested in Bitcoin there.

Love the Bitcoin collectibles reference! I would have to second that one. Also I think that you really can do anything and the possibilities here are limitless- something everyone should be doing in the mean time is selling some of their unused or unwanted items online and even in a garage sale type setting accepting bitcoin!

Other ideas:

Coming up with a product or service revolving around Bitcoin (perhaps educational services with a monthly subscription to a social media channel etc.)

Using AI or chat GPT to help you come up with a good business model to then implement may also help you figure something out.

Be creative though is really what I would recommend and try to shy away from AI to have it be organic - and then your ideas can also be patentable as with AI they cannot.

I think the advantage is there if you're in a country that doesn't have massive adoption yet, being the first one to introduce this business gives you the upper hand. Remember that the first investors of Bitcoin didn't even know where it is going but then they still invested and have managed to held it for a long time because they believe. It may be a different comparison but I think it's a good one if ever OP decides to do that or anyone that sees the potential of it on their areas and localities.

I'm looking for something with a bit more connection to Bitcoin.
Without knowing what you're currently selling in your brick-and-mortar store, it's hard to suggest a great business idea but if it has something to do with electronic devices, you can try becoming an official reseller of a certain hardware wallet brand/s [the more, the better].

You need to know what you are capable with so that you can see if there's a demand for your potential business that you wanna make. Since its really bad on your side if you want to create something related with bitcoin if there's no crypto users in your place or around you. Maybe they will find your stuff weird if that's the case.

But if there's some demands for crypto stuff on your country then I guess you could able to start a lending business which people can borrow bitcoin to you and they pay also bitcoin in return with interest.

Also cash in cash out bitcoin business since for sure that there would be a lot of people will be interested to top up or cash out bitcoin especially if they know that you are offering more convenient way for them to take out their bitcoin then get direct fiat without any hassle.

If you recognize bitcoin as a currency, it's therefore means that you are asking what business idea that are related to money. You have also stated that using bitcoin as an alternative means of payment is what you have planned to do. I so know that this time around the mempool is always congested, and this might not be favorable to your business.

Business ideas relating to bitcoin that I can think about easily are as follows; and mostly about rendering services.
  • You can start a P2P loc business
  • You can write Bitcoin related articles and get paid in BTC
  • Trading
  • Helping online businesses to set up bitcoin payment gateways
Etc
Note: Ensure you understand any business you want to venture and not because it is bitcoin related. Business is business...

More connection to Bitcoin you say, what can be more connected to Bitcoin if it isn't currency/payment gateways. For a business Idea I can only think about selling branded fashion wears with Bitcoin logo printed on them or popular occasion in the history of Bitcoin or phrases like "I'm hodling". Basically I think the best thing to do is to do any business that can succeed in your geographic location and accept Bitcoin as a payment option. This is the best  Idea I can come up with because I don't know what sells in where you are from so I shouldn't be giving you a business with idea that might work only in my region and not yours.

Running a business at losses shouldn't be an option just because you want to promote Bitcoin, you should be making profit and be promoting Bitcoin at the same time and you won't get tired of running your business because you're doing what you love to do and making money from it. If you really what to get into business connected with Bitcoin then start up a business that helps spread the awareness and adoption of Bitcoin.

Since you say something more connected to Bitcoin, how about like a Bitcoin education center? You could offer workshops and courses and probably one-on-one training on Bitcoin (how it works, what to do, what not to do, etc). I haven’t thought so indepth about it but maybe you can think about it and work with it. It mustn’t be something huge too. It could be in your store and you don’t have to actually call it an education center. You could print handouts to give to some customers too.

I am guessing that you are not asking for services you can offer with relation to technical aspects of bitcoin or crypto, right?

I have noticed that safe spaces for bitcoin enthusiasts are widely needed. Assuming you are in a country that does not have bitcoin banned you can set up a space or a coffee shop where bitcoin enthusiasts can go, hang out together and freely talk about bitcoin. You can offer menu that are inspired from bitcoin or crypto.

Coffee shops nowadays are very popular so incorporating bitcoin into it can be an attention grabber.

It would be a bit hypocrite to set up a business about bitcoin and not have bitcoin as your payment method ;D

You could start a physical Bitcoin Merchant shop, which means that people would come to your shop to either buy or sell their Bitcoin. They can come having Bitcoin in their wallets or somewhere and sell them to you and receive local currency from you, or they could come with cash and get Bitcoin from you.

Something like this can work if you know that your country allows it and that it is secure for you to do a business like that, you shouldn't have the fear of getting robbed or something. If you know there are no hurdles like that for you and you have a good location where you can rent a shop, you should go for it.

Remember, a business is all about understanding the market and demands of people, you should only start a certain business in a specific location if you know it is going to run well and you are going to get customers, otherwise, it's useless.

Teaching bitcoin to others is a good idea but to do that you need to have enough knowledge, experience or even deep expertise to be able to teach others and take their money. You can't take advantage of people's ignorance and give them knowledge about bitcoin when you yourself don't have too much knowledge about bitcoin. Not to mention, knowledge about bitcoin is not too difficult to find on the internet and everything is free. So if you want to open a center or a class to teach about bitcoin, there is nothing wrong but you need to provide them with knowledge commensurate with the amount of money they pay you. Education may sound simple but it is no simpler than business related to bitcoin.

IF the fee isnt really high then you can just sell btc in low amount considering CEx always have high minimum withdraw. But as the fee can reach double or triple digit it is not really viable to do it

I'm aware that I could simply offer Bitcoin as a payment alternative... Of course, I would do that as well, but I'm looking for something with a bit more connection to Bitcoin.
When you say a bit more connection to Bitcoin, I would remind you to first and foremost view Bitcoin for a currency as that is indeed what it is. Any attributes or things you could do with your fiat, it’s applicable to Bitcoin as well, just ensure you have a retrieval strategy as, it isn’t like fiat and leaves no room for mistakes.

That means, you either get to buy and hodl, trade it, loan it, accept it for a means of payment and a couple other uses out there. It doesn’t get much better than that. You should ensure you do proper research of your own while using the information you gather from others for guides.

I think there is no problem if someone who is experienced and has a lot of knowledge of Bitcoin can make people aware of Bitcoin for a small fee and it will be great. There is no doubt that everything is there on the internet, but it takes a lot of time to search and find the right information, on the contrary if someone can provide good knowledge for a small fee then I think it would not be bad.

Other than that, I agree with you. A person who has no knowledge himself can't teach others, whatever knowledge it is, they need to learn it themselves first because only a knowledgeable person can teach others. Without acquiring knowledge, if a person makes such a mistake, he can make people lose thousands if not millions of dollars. Therefore, it is important that you yourself are fully trained and have learned everything before teaching others.

What about to buy bitcoin more fairly?

Good afternoon, my name is Alberto and I want to change the way cryptocurrencies are used.

I have been thinking about the bitcoin community, I love technology and I love the power that cryptocurrencies give us as well as the responsibility that they bring.

I am super angry how huge exchanges make money at the expense of silently stealing from me and all users

When you buy on Binance or any exchange, they sell you the btc at a higher price and you don't realize it, until you investigate the market price, then they take a commission for your purchase, so after overselling you, they also take away a commission and at the same time It's time to sell, don't even mention it, they buy it from you at a lower price and take away the commission for the sale, this is outrageous, a new user who doesn't know about the subject will say well, that's how it is and it discourages him, he sees that he invested money and they give you very little of what you have invested, it happened to me, I have been in this for years and many who are, hate traditional exchanges, and the truth is I want to contribute to the community in this regard.

I really want to give the power to users to be able to buy directly from each other, between the community and at fair prices, saying “someone who wants to sell me 1,000 in BTC” and another user from the community saying “I'll sell you” share the link and that's it.

That is why I have created this p2p exchange https://cryptoexchangep2p.com/ to buy and sell at market price directly with the BTC community and without commissions for buying or selling.

When a user sends his Btc to sell to the platform, he receives it, once he receives it the post activates and you can now share it to buy, you wait for the buying user to send you the screenshot of the receipt (you will also notice that you received a bank transfer out of nowhere) and you will receive an email notifying that someone took your offer for you to release the bitcoins, once released they pass into the power of the buyer, and the buyer has to remove their bitcoins to a Wallet that belongs to them

I want this to be used by the entire community (currently I program the price to be in MXN but I can optimize it to be in USD) to make the ecosystem a better place

Learn more about the project https://cryptoexchangep2p.com/about/

OP, are you trying to steal Business ideas from other people and make them your own business? Nice try.  ;D
If I ever had a working business idea, I would never share it with random strangers on the web. ;D Knowledge is power. Don't give it away for free.
Good luck trying to open an online shop and accepting Bitcoin payments. I'm sure that you will get thousands of customers every day. ;D
I have an idea about a crypto casino, that is going to be different than all the other crypto casinos, but I'm not going to share it.
It's not specifically about BTC, so I guess that it doesn't fit in the "Bitcoin business idea" category.

I ever heard someone said "there are a lot business ideas, anyone including strangers don't mind to share their ideas with you, so everyone have many business idea, but the reason why there aren't many business is not many people dare to take action".

I agree with him, there are so many people don't mind to share their business ideas, but when you ask them why they didn't run it, they will start making excuses.

However, I just hope that you will execute your business ideas than just dream it. ;)

DrHodler59
Quite misleading with small stores but not with payment options. You could offer investment services to other people using your knowledge if you're really that passionate because right now, if it is with normal business format then the only way bitcoin and other cryptos will be involved is through payment transactions.Overall budget will always be a factor on scaling what business you are planning but the idea itself is good. However, it will again be limited to what yiu are trying to achieve and how much could you be putting on the process to make things work for this.

He's just asking for ideas. If you don't feel like sharing yours then you're free to do so. Good thing that you have your own but let him recieve answers from ither users who are willing to give him a hand with this topic. Spread love, mate.

This is the right way to approach things, if you do what you love doing, then you are going to be able to make more money. The reason isn't that something you hate may not make money, it could very well make money but the point is that if you start today, you are not going to start making money tomorrow, and if you hate something that will cause you to do a bad job and then why would people pay you?

And it may take months or even years until the business takes off and if you do not see a good result until then, you may quit before you can make money. Whereas, if you do what you love, you are going to do a better job, because you will love what you are doing, and eventually you are going to start making a lot more money from it, and it doesn't matter if it takes months, you like doing it anyway.

Buying and selling having Bitcoin as payment method in that business is what make Bitcoin as a mainstream currency, although not only Bitcoin alone but all other popular cryptocurrencies that offers you some form of scalability and security.

I have read in the forum where a female member run a beauty salon and does accept Bitcoin as payment alternatively to the fiat payments.

As I said, if you have enough knowledge and experience, you can open a center or a few classes to teach people in need. The only issue I want to talk about here is morality, we should not take advantage of other people's ignorance for our own benefit. That not only directly affects our reputation, but also the reputation of the cryptocurrency industry.

Honestly, I don't like this idea because by introducing or teaching bitcoin to others, we are contributing to making bitcoin more popular and once bitcoin is popular then we are also the beneficiary's profit. Second, we can learn online for free or our knowledge has been taught by others so there is no reason we have to charge others.
