Title: Is Dashverse Using Trojan to Steal Crypto from Users?
Post by: ContentWriter on July 14, 2024, 12:55:01 PM
What happened:
I saw someone on Reddit advertise a forum moderator position on Dashverse and applied. We struck a deal, but I became uneasy when he responded to my request for moderation permission to the Dashverse forum thus:

"Here is your key to get Dashverse game code: MXY4FAD-----VFJH
after you download it send me your Steam username so i can add you to the moderator’s whitelist"

Do I need to download and use a game code to gain moderation permission on Dashverse?

I decided to investigate Dashverse further and saw three Dashverse reviews that said:

"Fake game that logs your information when ran, be safe."

"game exe contains a trojan
Trojan:Win32/Phonzy.B!ml
Reported to steam on the day of this review, lets see if it gets taken down"

"This game is a Trojan VIRUS. Gets all cookies, passwords. steals crypto wallets so be careful"

Are these unfounded allegation or is Dashverse a shady gaming platform?

Additional Notes:

1) Do I need to download a game with code to gain moderation permission? Or is it some trick the user wants to employ in gaining some affiliate commission?

2) Is Dashverse stealing crypto with Trojan virus?

2) Is Dashverse stealing crypto with Trojan virus?

1) Of course NO ! And the matter has nothing with affiliate commission. It's a big Red Flag. Definetly a SCAM.

2) I have not tried it myself, but according to your story and some reviews published on the web, the answer is YES.

Yes, if the moderation works like chat in the game, no if its using third party apps like in discord or somewhere else.

If its really have trojan virus (it might be just false positive of windows defender or any antivirus though) Steam should double check it, and shouldn't be approved to be listed on their platform, you should report that hame to them for investigation so it will be removed.

Indeed, this is a fake game, and the moderation permission, whitelist, hourly payment, and cheap purchase price estimated at $0.99 are clear temptations for any player to download the game on his device and try it out. Once the game is downloaded onto a computer containing important information, data, and crypto wallets, the game's developer will be able to seize everything through the trojan integrated into the Dashverse game. It is worth noting that the game has been released on Steam powered since 2022, and although there are a lot of negative reviews that do not recommend this fake game, it has not been removed from the Steam platform until now. I have now reported the game and hope it will be removed as soon as possible.

Thank you for publishing this topic so that it will be a red flag for all enthusiasts of Steam games to be careful before downloading any game on their computers. Scammers develop these games, programs, cracks, and the like to hack victims’ devices and steal them.
