This is really alarming for this amazing forum!

(Data is from DdmrDdmr merit dashboard)

July 2024 isn't over yet, it's reason why total TXs appear to be at all time low. I would either read the chart until last month or wait until next month, where the chart already count all data from July 2024.

Even if you double that (though only 12 days left) still it is low considering bitcoin is peaking and traffic is almost increasing at steady rate for past 6 moths.

But if you scroll down, it says "Updated: Jul 12, 2024". So you probably should multiply it by 2.5x instead which isn't all time low. And tab "Merits per Rank & Week" shows total merit (not TX) each week can be very different.

You are correct about this. But if we see how the forum is, there should be more smerits. It would also be good if those that applied for merit source are given some smerits every month so that merit can circulate more to good posts on this forum. I guess there would be decrease in merit distribution. If not this time, I know it is getting near.

I don’t think there is any correlation between the bitcoin price and the traffic here nor the merit circulation it self. There is also huge traffic even during bearish periods before in the forum. The traffic reduction doesn’t have anything to do with bitcoin price.

But overall I will say the traffic here has reduced and also the merit circulation too, which to me needs immediate attention. As for the monthly monthly circulation/Tx we still have more than 10 days to go and we could still go up though so I agree with ABCbits that you shouldn’t draw your conclusions yet

In my local board we don't have any local merit source. One of our active local board member has applied but no action till now. I doubt that anything will happen this year but I don't see merit decline on other  local boards or global boards. There are enough merit sources available for global boards who have been active and giving merits to deserved topics or replies.

Probably someone can compare the data with those from previous years when it comes to this period - maybe there are similarities considering that some of the active merit sources are less active because during the summer people usually go on vacation and travel. However, several members (including me) expressed their desire to become merit sources, so we can only hope that the list of merit sources will be refreshed in the future.

Although it's not yet accurate to say the merit distribution hit ATL this month, but I believe it gets lower and lower.

Well, this caused by reduction of signature campaign.

Signature campaign encourage people to post more and this could increase the probability to receive merit than just posting for few posts, although quality is over quantity in terms of getting merit. But, basically people who're not in signature campaign choose to take a break aka not making any post.

That is a valid point. I guess I should lock this topic as I realized my mistake of overlooking some crucial facts. Thanks for your quick and accurate response, it shows forum is still in good hands.
