Title: Bitcointalk Quotes
Post by: BlackHatCoiner on July 22, 2024, 11:14:51 PM
Bitcointalk rocks. Therefore, I present...

Ta-da!
https://bitcointalk.rocks/

Funny, educative, historical and poetic quotes from the Bitcointalk family. Currently, I have saved 91 quotes, from 42 users (https://bitcointalk.rocks/users). I'll update it as I find more interesting posts. You can open the link to check if I've selected posts of yours, but you'll have to refresh and read new quotes manually to find them!

If you've found a good post, submit it in here or via PM, and I'll probably add it to my database.

Nice quotes. One appears at a time, unless you manually refresh to get another. How about you add a reload button just below the quote, at the center to avoid using the browser reload repeatedly.

You're right. I'm currently investigating on this. I'll let you know.

Done. Just click on "Random Quote".

Is there a way to update this and add it to a PC homescreen for example? This way the random quotes change every 10 or so seconds.

Is there also a way to see the full list of quotes and choose the one you want to read at a time?

Brilliant idea! I'll be working on this.  ;)

Well, I could just give all the quotes to you, but this way it wouldn't be so surprising, would it?  :( (I'll probably create a hidden page for that reason, though, as I predict demand for the whole list)

Nice Job @BlackHaatCoiner, I have a suggestion...
Why not a random quote at the top and list of all quotes following the random quote ---beneath to view all quote [maybe a little bit of pagination if needed] at least visistors can view all the whole quotes without having to refresh  or does it have a timeout to refresh random quotes.

Nice job, BlackHatCoiner!  I haven't clicked through all of the quotes, but I absolutely like this.  I don't know how much work you put into this, but it was an imaginative site to put together and I hope you keep it going and add many more quotes.  There have been some really good zingers over the years, though I'd have no idea how to find them again.  There was a member whose name escapes me who was in the Chipmixer campaign, and he was famous for dropping witty and insightful one-liners.  His name is on the tip of my tongue....and I hate that feeling.

Props to you, my man.

Nice you fix that so fast. The choice of positioning of the Random Quotes. It's still fine, but in the UI design rule, when you read from top to bottom, the next text/button of command should be at the bottom and not moving up again to click reload.

It's a nice initiative you have come up with @BlackHatCoiner. I was just wondering if good posts from local board that fit in the category can be posted too, probably with an attached translation to it.

It should add some color that way, since the thread idea is about funny, educative, historical and poetic quotes  as you clearly said above.

you did an amazing job. but I don't know whether I have read all the quotes or not. there is no numbering and it will continue to contain repeated quotes.
maybe it was your idea and you have already done it. Maybe in the future, there will be improvements that will make it even better.
Don't forget to update this thread when you update the quote list.

Nice work with quotes!
I suggest adding option for people to randomly select quotes from specific members, and quotes for specific subjects.
Hal Finney wrote many other interesting posts you can quite, there is currently only two added.

For example, we can have quotes only about Satoshi and his identity.
One example by Hal:

Lois Lane:

How do you find someone who has spent a lifetime covering his tracks?

For some, he was a guardian angel. For others, a ghost, who never quite fit in.

What's the S stand for?

I've tested the site and its quotes and I can say that you came up with a very useful idea and executed it as a site.

It's the minimalistic website I have ever visited but it's one of the most useful ones. I'll try to find some good posts which may be me quoted on your site.

I'll try my best to find some useful posts that can be helpful as quotes on your site.

Great work @BlackHatCoiner. I must admit that you put in a lot of work gathering these quotes and developing the website.

I want to suggest that in addition to the numbering someone suggested, you add "Next" and "Previous" tabs for easy navigation because I noticed I couldn't go back to previous quotes.

Meanwhile below quote got me thinking that Satoshi actually saw the future following the ordeal of Julian Assange and the crackdown on privacy
