Title: What do you think will the price of Bitcoin in 2024?
Post by: pakhitheboss on July 27, 2024, 11:47:59 AM
Recently Coingecko posted the image shown below on their Instagram handle.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/07/27/4KxpD.jpeg

They had conducted a survey post halving in which 2558 individuals participated. As mentioned 2 out 5 think Bitcoin price will hit or go above $100,000. There has been prediction earlier this year by a few analysts that Bitcoin will hit the $100K mark by the end of this year.

What is your prediction? Guess a number and by thr end of this year I will visit this thread to see who predicted the right amount.

I am not trying to speculate the price of Bitcoin with this topic. I am only trying to see whether we as forum members can come up with a price that is either similar to what the survey predicted or we have our own figure.

The number of participants which is just 2K is not that huge to conclude anything. Besides, Most user that hangout on price website like coingecko usually are those moonboys that keeps checking the price frequently and also they are the first one to flip once the price pump because they are excited on profit unlike us here that is just silent holders.

I think the price might break 80K level but my guess is around 85K since we are just talking about price prediction for this year while the big price movement might occur next year.

I agree the sample size for this survey is small but you cannot ignore the fact that such surveys have been happening on other platforms and they have similar number of participants. Let's see how many members here will agree with Coingecko as we are the in a forum that was created for Bitcoin. I am excited to see the response from fellow members of the forum.

Is this topic not best suited for the speculation board.

What is your prediction?
The year is almost ending and bitcoin has not yet been able to break the resistance it set for itself to set a new all time high price. $100K is not an impossible value to reach but I do not think it will be in this year, maybe early next year.

By the end of this year, I predict the value of bitcoin to be between 80k-95k.

Why? I am not trying to speculate the price of Bitcoin on the main board. I trying to find out whether we as in the forum members can outperform the survey conducted by Coingecko. They had a small sample size let's make it bigger than them to actually deliver the right price of Bitcoin before the year ends.

The fact that 15% of the respondents don't expect we will go above $75k at the end this cycle may be enough to disregard the entire report. Most people who answer this usually do not think critically or have enough information to reach a calculated guess.
The question itself was also set up to be very conservative.

What is your prediction? Guess a number and by thr end of this year I will visit this thread to see who predicted the right amount.
The cycle does not end this year. You'll need to return much later when it's obvious the bullrun is over.

The sample size is not too small to conclude a research. There is a high possibility that the result might be the reflection of the views of the entire population. From my observation and studies, most majority of crypto users believe that the price will get to $100k. However, there is no consensus on when this will happen. Some believe that it will be before the end of the year, while others believe it will happen in the first quarter of 2025. My prediction is that the price might get to $100k this year, depending on economic and political outcomes in the US and China.

I understand the cycle but it is 2024 and we only have a handful of months left to be in 2025. The cycle is all about next halving year. If Bitcoin can be at that price point before the cycle ends then it will be great.

I am more focused with the outcome of the US election. I have a feeling that if Trump wins then Bitcoin might create a new ATH that willl be above $100K.

I'm thinking more of it for this cycle but if the question is all about the end of the year, I'd go with the 2 out of 5 or even not $100k but close to it. That's how positive I am and despite that it has disappointed me on the last 2021 bull run for which many of us in here, expected that $100k was about to happen on that cycle but it didn't do.

That's fine, we still have this cycle and that's why I am thinking more of the peak this time and it's gonna surpass $100k. But then, I don't want to go that far for now and wishes to see $100k first before having some predictions on my head again about newer and higher prices.

I am more focused with the outcome of the US election. I have a feeling that if Trump wins then Bitcoin might create a new ATH that willl be above $100K.
Very likely, and look at the fans: Crypto fanatics flock to Trump, hoping to ‘make bitcoin great again’ (https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2024/07/27/trump-bitcoin-support-2024-cryptocurrency/)

Before the halving, our expectations for the year were really very high, adding with the bitcoin ETF approval, which even increased what we were expecting to see Bitcoin achieve in the year 2024, but from the way the market has been struggling these past few months, I can't say I still have a high expectation on the price. Based on my expectations, the year will end and Bitcoin will settle between $75,000 and $80,000, which is not too far from the $100k I hoped for before now.

Personally I've been quite bullish, although I'm getting a bit impatient now, but I think the political situation in the US, as is often the case, is going to have a big influence on this. With a pro-bitcoin VP candidate who holds bitcoin, which we can tell based on his congressional financial disclosure, it seems that if the US election goes one way it could be huge (and this does not imply that I like Trump), while if it goes the other way, meh, the year will probably be bullish but don't expect anything extraordinary.

What is certain is that we all often see predictions and speculation in various sources at the moment, especially in 2024, but everyone has their own opinion on this matter, belief will lead them to what they believe in the current and future price of Bitcoin.

But I personally look at Bitcoin for this year, if my speculation doesn't jump to the level of $80k let alone $100k, instead I predict $45-50k, of course for several reasons that I believe, It's impossible to mention them one by one here, my speculation is that Bitcoin will jump maybe in 2027, maybe at $100k, not this year.

I think the events that happened pre halving actually made investors more bullish, the price reaction to that event is something else, the price had a new ATH which doesn’t correspond to past halving events and investors started prediction of the price hitting a 6 figures right in the third quarter. One thing I will say Some investors missed then was that fro a huge pump like that there was definitely going to be a correction because the buying liquidity was just too much then and it was economically logical that sellers who might have their sell target around $70k would sell and that’s what exactly happened. Although the recent dump has been filled with FUDs from the news of big investors or countries selling, I think we are still in state of correction and the price of $100k is still visible this year.

I wouldn’t say it is bad but I think recent events like the election has been allowed to impact our decision, many are placing their bullish sentiments on Trump’s triumph and should it happen, I also trust it will be huge for the market but same as it not happen, I believe the FUD that will be spread will even get us below the $70k for the year ending. My prediction is in a full cycle with price between $120k to $160k before the end of 2025

There is no doubt that Bitcoin will breach $100k but if we look at past two years 2024 has been more promising and there is no reason to doubt because Bitcoin has reached its ATH but unfortunately couldn't capitalise on the same bullish storm and we saw few fluctuations but there hasn't been negative sentiments and market has recovered in last few days. I still think Bitcoin will cross $100k this year and if happens then we will be in proper bull run once again.

I believe to reach $100k by the end of this year can happen to bitcoin it will definitely happen to bitcoin even I can think that it might be more than $100k on the price of bitcoin, of course saying like this there must be a reason that can be convincing enough.

We are currently at the price of bitcoin now and a lot of new adoptions such as by institutions and countries that are entering are still below 8% of the total people adopting bitcoin, there are still many countries, institutions and retail that have not entered bitcoin completely, so it is likely that when there is positive sentiment towards bitcoin and its regulation in the US will affect many countries and institutional and retail views on bitcoin.

We know that today Trump brought speculation about bitcoin into his campaign and if he can actually abide by his own words then it will open additional doors for bitcoin to be increasingly accepted, then the US election is indeed in the spotlight regarding the economy and industry which will certainly be closely related to financial policy in the future, this is my thinking about bitcoin which will be a concern, especially since Robert F Kennedy Jr also brought speculation about bitcoin if he was elected.

You know times are really different when the majority of "bulls" are aiming low 6-digits. Bitcoin has never been stronger, never been out of reach of attackers, never been more confident. And we're only talking about 100,000 (mine too).

Far cry from the heady days of 2017 million dollar projections, or even 2021 when 100k was a sure thing.

To me since we have already experienced $73K ATH at a common market appreciation, it seems every tendencies to experience $100K+ at the ATH of the bull-run because the current ATH is reflection potential that the ultimate future bull-run ATH would be far over percent from from the present ATH

I will prefer to keep my expectations very low rather than keeping them high, as it's better to be taken by surprise in terms of the price surge on the positive side than to be disappointed.

Since we have seen $73k during the last pump caused by the ETF hype, achieving $100k won't be too much of a big deal. We will get there, which I'm certain, but the when is what we are not sure about, as it's possible that we might end the year 2024 without seeing bitcoin at the speculated $100k price. There is also a high chance that we will even see it above that amount too. It's just speculation after all, and nothing is impossible when it comes to the to the bitcoin price.

We started the year 2024 with the average price of Bitcoin in January as around $41,000, and today which is 7 months later, the price of Bitcoin currently is approximately $67,000 (i.e $27,000 increase). So if I'm to ascertain what price Bitcoin likely to cross from now July to December 2024, I'm very sure the price of Bitcoin shouldn't be above an extra $20,000 in profit, that is, I'm of the opinion that Bitcoin is likely to finish or end the year 2024 with its price at approximately $87,000 per BTC or roughly $90,000, as I'm still not sure if Bitcoin will cross the $100,000 benchmark this year.

So that's my sincere observations, according to this years previous performance (i.e from January to July 2024)

People expect too much and right now they shouldn't so much, the price action at least reflects patience and strictly fenced in price.   Boring but the word now is patience which isnt a swear word, its just not exciting.  Surprisingly you can do better from boring then you will from exciting, the market really shook up and excited will move 10k while you are still asleep and you'll miss the whole thing so whats the use in that.

The problem is with really fast markets its not just you who misses the price, half the world wasn't looking and trading that price.  So we end up with air pockets in the price from it moving so fast and it gets weak in the middle, unreliable and prone to collapse when tested as markets will always do.   Hence right now is totally fine and normal occurrence, the market year start was moving far too fast nice gain but it all has to be back tested.

Im surprised we've been testing pricing for 5 months and its still not bullish, still not negative really either just flat boring.  It could also be true for all of 2024, we just carry on putting in volume, doing trades building up the price with strength not movement.  Thats my general take but also Im expecting more to occur in the last few months of the year from September onwards is often a time to be awake.

Everyone will still have different opinion on this because even before this came up on coin gecko, there have been so many people on this forum who has already speculated that the price of Bitcoin will definitely reach $100k this year while some thinks otherwise. If you read across recent post on this board, you will definitely find a lot of  opinion.

According to that post by coin gecko, I don't think they only mean what the peak price will be for 2024, I think they are trying get opinion of peak price before we enter bear season. I think the peak price of Bitcoin will be $100k+ before the bear market starts.

Pretty low sample size for a survey on a massive market ngl. I'm more expectant of it going maybe 80k-ish, 90k if hopeful but not past 100k. I'm expecting 100k next year instead, maybe in the middle of the year or so. Highly doubt we'd bulldoze through the 80s and 90s after all, similar to how we didn't(or weren't?) able to bulldoze through the 70k. A lot of people were expectant then that it wouldn't stop and reach 100k right then and there but here we are now a few months later still sitting at below 70s.

If you want a really specific number, it's 85,640

Yes bro, I also agree with this, I also think Bitcoin will cross 100K by the end of this year. Because currently Bitcoin is not even close to 70K. It is currently stuck below 68K. Current situation looks like it will take several more days to cross 70K. However trust Bitcoin, it will surely cross 100K very soon. And it is most likely to happen by the end of this year.

Most people expected Bitcoin to be worth $100,000 before now and that has not happened therefore I think we should be expecting more people to think Bitcoin is going to be worth more than $100,000 any timeframe that you use to ask them. People make predictions based on their emotions and investment, if you ask people that do not own any Bitcoin or bought Bitcoin since, they will not care what the price might be by the end of 2024 but those that bought during the highest price that Bitcoin was selling this year which was $73,000, they will say they think the price should be worth more than $100,000 by 2024. But I think anybody thinking about just the end of 2024 is thinking short term but when investing in Bitcoin we should think long term and not short time.

$100K is not certain at the end of 2024, but it would be great if bitcoin could surpass it.

The survey would be more in favor of $100K in 2025 because considering they call it will be know bullish for the crypto market even I myself can't say it will be accurate just optimistic about the market that will likely be bullish.

Obviously my own target is $100K in 2025 - Q1-Q2.

I'm not very sure about that survey but I don't think that we may see Bitcoin at $100k in 2024 if market keeps dumping after some good growth.

Currently, the safe range for Bitcoin is in $55k to $72k and it's quite hard for it to cross that $72k barrier and remain over that range for many days.

If Bitcoin somehow crosses $80k within next 2 months then there's chance to see it at $100k by the end of 2024 or at first quarter of 2025. Hopefully, it will reach or cross $100k at the peak of bull run.

If i was part of this survey, then i would definitely be among the 2 in 5 who think that BTC price will hit or go above $100k. That being said, the cycle will prolly not end this year, so we cannot take the price at the end of this year to be the peak of the cycle, i am pretty certain we have to wait until 2025 to witness the end of the cycle. Hopefully if the crypto/world events go in our favor, then we might prolly get to $100,000 at the end of this year and above it by 2025.
