No one forced you to invest in Bitcoin; there are other things that you can invest in, and it's left for you to choose what you consider best for yourself. Besides, here is a Bitcoin community. If you think and expect people to talk against Bitcoin, then you must be dreaming.
 
If you need fast profit, no one is stopping you from buying and investing in Altcoins; the choice is completely yours to make, but just know that whatever currency or asset offers you a quick profit is also capable of turning your thousand-dollar investment into zero in no time. 

Altcoins are more volatile. Expect more profit from them if it is bull run season. But do not let that trap you because their fall is not easy. You will see many of them fall back from where they started from. The worst part is that this could be their all-time high because people will leave them for new ones that will come in the bull run season after 2026 just like they left those coins that were created before 2020 in this last bull run. Be careful of altcoins.

No one asked you to go for Bitcoin and if you do not understand it then leave it. We are not forcing it upon you and neither is Bitcoin forcing you to buy it. I agree on one point that it is now not as easy as it was 10 years back when the price of Bitcoin was under the reach of everyone. Being said that there is a concept DCA which anyone who understands the potential of Bitcoin in the future is doing. Before coming into any conclusion like you have done now try something that is being used to make yourself financially free.

Altcoins except those that have established themselves are risky investments. I have been here for 6 years now and I have seen how altcoins come and go. Every year a new concept pops up and every time it uses the same narrative which is to get rich quickly. For me that is a myth and trust me you will face a dilemma as to what to do when you face a big fail in this industry.

Altcoins are more volatile, as is the risk, so when the market is green, you will make a significant profit, but when the market crashes, so will your money. The larger the profit, the greater the risk.  Also, alt coins are unreliable and have a tough time recovering from crashes.

Altcoins are like gambling and the chance of losing your money is 50-50 because a lot of them have crashed in the past since the dev only created them for pump and dump to scam people of their hard earned money. Altcoins will burn you and you will be crying to people around you.

Let's say just, for example, you earned good profits from memes and shit-coins quickly you can lose your profit along with your invested amount quickly as these coins are more volatile and depend on the bitcoin market very much as you see the bitcoin market gaining its value then you will see some pumps in alts as well but when you see bitcoin losing its value you will notice these coins also lose their value quickly. That could have been the worst advice ever. I do understand your frustration but advising a beginner to jump into altcoins would be a bad idea. Beginners would not know yet how to recognize legit projects much more the ones that make actual money.

We can take advantage of both bitcoins and altcoins all at the same time. We don't need to box ourselves in just one category.

You have not also done enough research. If you had done enough research you would have known that altcoins have made many poor. People have lost money investing in scam projects called altcoins. Investing in Bitcoin is a choice; nobody is forced to invest in it.

Your recommendation may be suited for you only and not for others. Bitcoin will always be the top 1. Because you are looking at Bitcoin like a get rich quick scheme that is why you are writing about "real money". There are many more utilities for Bitcoin other than quick money. Well, we do have our own approach on things on which believing into something on basing up into our own experience. We do have the rights to speak freely on whatever opinion that you would be having.
If you do really found yourself on having such realizations then its your call on which you are really that somewhat true that when it comes to making money or profits then altcoin or low caps could really be able to give out such situation or condition but of course when it comes to have that kind of strong trust by the community then there's no doubt that Bitcoin would really be having that solid when it comes this manner.

Bitcoin was created for everyone but not everyone will fit into bitcoin and maybe in this case you are also included with people who cannot be in bitcoin. I don't consider this a bad thing because everything depends on yourself but that doesn't mean we have to criticize one another because everyone is free to make their own choices, especially the choice of investments made.

Many people who are in bitcoin in the end are also based on research conducted because almost most realize that bitcoin's progress is very good and the fact is that from the existence of bitcoin 2 decades ago until now many people have benefited from bitcoin so that even though bitcoin is included in crypto but still bitcoin has greater control because many people are in it.

I was new to Bitcoin and had my share of ups and downs... and then someone suggested investing in altcoins etc...
as a struggler, learner, and ofcourse wanting to bag good amount of money every now and then i did look into it... I explored Playdoge, Weinerdogai... it was like if i would read about it i would go for it.... and no doubt sometimes it did get lucky for me  ;)

But my conclusion was .. Bitcoin is for the long run.. if i am talking of  $1000K+ then I cant risk it anywhere else except on Bitcoin... yes maybe altcoins can be a little diversification... like small piggy banks... but definitely not hardcore  :o

Are you serious with this statement, or that you chose shitcoin over bitcoin, or what can be your reason for saying so at some point I can imagine any sane person choosing gambling over real assets because as far as I know, bitcoin is an asset and shitcoin is just a gamble, but I don't because of you made a quick gain in altcoin to say bitcoin is not good, the question you should have e asking if that, how long can you repeat that so-called gains you made from shitcoin?

I don't understand what you mean, to be honest. For me, there is no secret, you don't need to research and test. The secret to make almost surely and safely money in cryptos is to lend your funds, but you won't get a high ROI with this strategy. Another way is to just be very lucky and to invest into a lucky altcoin during it's ICO or when its price is very low. Making some good trades with a high leverage is another option but still depending on your luck, partially at least.

If you think that you are wasting your time with Bitcoin then you should have ignored this Bitcoin discussion board so that Bitcoin discussion won't eat up your time. 

Anyway if anyone is just starting in cryptocurrency I would suggest staying away from altcoin.  There are lots of scam projects on altcoin, many of the launched coins are just for money grab, and only a handful of projects among the launched altcoins are worth investing in.  I agree that an investor must do their serious research and test the water...  I am somehow sure that when you do that, you would gladly stay with Bitcoin than risk your fund on shitcoins.

OP I believe what informed your decision to go into bitcoin initially was obviously for you to get quick money. Your one of those person's that come into the crypto space for quick fix money, and obviously bitcoin didn't give you the results your looking for, that's why you're sounding like this. Who doesn't know that bitcoin is an asset that grows periodically in value over time. There are lots and lots of shitcoins that have been launched yet they couldn't stand the test of time like bitcoin, so why would any sane person advise another to invest in something you know lacks substance.

I can slightly agree with you but you will have to be very careful with altcoins because like what had happened in the past, altcoins can crash at anytime so you need to know the particular coins you are doing and know what you are doing if not, one could lost a lot of money. Cryptocurrency can be very profitable if we have enough funds to buy crypto tokens to hold for as long as possible for us to make money in the market. Bitcoin is one coin that has so much value and you can make good amount of money when the market is in a bull run. Investors had been buying and holding Bitcoin and making money from it and I don't know why your own case is different from other. Just go for what you want or what you think about the crypto market.

Exactly. You don’t have to conclude that bitcoin isn’t profitable just because you are not making decent profits at it. We all have preferences when it comes to investment. While you are greedy with quick profits from altcoins, others still prefer to invest in long term so that the profits will be massive in time when they want to sell. Bitcoin is not for everyone, but it’s certainly for those who have a lot of patience while investing.

I won't blame you here because I have seen how others are saying if it doesn't work out for you it doesn't mean it won't work for other and to be honest what they have said is true but I would rather blame the hype and misconceptions creation around Bitcoin and portraying it like get rich quick scheme which isn't true because people have waited for over three years between 2018 to 2021 to get profit when it was in bear market.

I know what you mean, some of us were very lucky to be in Bitcoin fairly early. You know it might be a good idea to have a well balanced portfolio with some exposure to Bitcoin, purely because it’s an inflation destroyer & it’s a lot less risky than all altcoins. By all means diversify into all kinds of altcoins but maybe hold 20% Bitcoin.

I remember phrases similar to "Bitcoin is simply for rich investors" have been said(or implied) a lot of times throughout Bitcoin's history, they have been using it as an excuse to not invest in Bitcoin. in short, bitcoin is for the people who are willing to take a risk, if you are too afraid to take a risk, don't invest in bitcoin.

I'm afraid of those people that have been hyped with the testimony of lucky people that they've entered early with altcoins and then told that the real money is there. If it works for them, it might not work for the others. But it doesn't mean that the money is only on Bitcoin or altcoins. It's entirely on the crypto market and you just have to position yourself well on which might work for you. If you find investing in Bitcoin is only for the rich, I am not rich but fortunately able to stack a few of it when it was still low. Investing in general requires patience and you should avoid all the hype that an asset is getting. Bitcoin isn't made by hype or any trend out there that we mostly see with altcoins. Investing in Bitcoin requires patience and more of it. It may look expensive right now but this is the safe haven for this market and compared to altcoins volatility, you'd see that everytime Bitcoin moves, they follow just as of now.

If you are here for quick profits, I believe investing in altcoins would satisfy your longing but only if you have invested in the right altcoins. Otherwise, if you end up with the wrong ones most particularly with new altcoins, you will only get scammed in the end. That's the time you'll realized that its way safer investing in bitcoin. You don't have to be rich to buy *fractional shares* of bitcoin.  You can purchase .000001 or .001 or whatever, and there's no need to be rich.  Bitcoin is a legitimate cryptocurrency where as these altcoins and shitcoin are just way you say, shit.  I mean thats not saying you can't make money with them, but they aren't legit.

So are you telling mr that research have it that the most successful people in the crypto space makes their money off bitcoin investment and achieved that money through altcoins and shitcoins? It is very clear that you’re not an agitator of bitcoin and you’ll want to discourage anyone that wants to invest in them because you’re a gambler. A gambler is the only person that will just despise bitcoin and also tell people not to invest in bitcoin because it’ll take them some time before they’ll make money from it. Bitcoin is not for everybody and that doesn’t  mean you should discourage others that are interested in it. If shitcoins and altcoins that you need to gamble with works best for you, don’t discourage others that have other sources that will work best for them with less risk.

Have you done your own research on what you are saying? Because after I did some research when I was new to crypto and also after the previous Bitcoin cycle that had reached ATH, the average highest income was in Bitcoin and the average who often experienced scams were people who were too trusting of the new shitcoins. So in conclusion, Bitcoin can be suitable for any investor without limiting certain groups to the amount of their funds (rich or poor) because Bitcoin can be purchased by anyone in very small amounts.

While the altcoins and shitcoins that you suggest are temporary projects that sometimes do not have the potential and continuous development in the future so that they can be vulnerable to losses for their holders and that is something I have seen in the past where there are many altcoins that cannot rise and continue to experience price declines when Bitcoin does not increase well in the market. This means that we can say that the good or bad trend of the crypto market is very dependent on the good or bad increase in the price of Bitcoin so that in terms of crypto it seems inappropriate to say that Bitcoin is bad or only suitable for certain people (rich).

If you treat cryptocurrencies as your get rich quick scheme, then I would advice you to not waste your time as well.

Your mindset needs to be changed, bitcoin is for everyone to achieve financial freedom, not only for the rich but also for the poor. because you can buy bitcoin in small amounts using the dca method, and storing it in the long term will make you rich. Maybe you also need to learn again what are the advantages of bitcoin compared to altcoin and study the history of bitcoin prices from year to year so that this will change your mindset about bitcoin and of course you will realize that you are not wasting your time with Bitcoin.

Atlcoin is very risky, it can indeed make money in the short term, but you can also lose money in an instant and if you are a beginner, you must be very careful in choosing altcoin, don't just follow suit, especially without doing good independent research. Both bitcoin and altcoin can of course be profitable but if you want to invest for the long term and safely then bitcoin is the right choice. I could see why you'd say that but think about it this way, bitcoin is continuing to grow in popularity as time goes by and we all know how it is when it comes to popularity, the demand for that popular thing increases and when the demand goes up, you'll definitely going to see the price skyrocket to heights that you or anyone ever previously expected to get to that point, although I do agree that bitcoin is for rich but I think that it's still as accessible to everyone as it was back then, maybe the value isn't there but hodling is going to be your friend so I wouldn't say that it's not that good of an investment anymore, also make sure to not risk too much money in altcoins because even if you pair it with all of the research you've got, it wouldn't matter if the altcoin devs did a rugpull or it's just not what your research showed to you.

Most of the altcoins that you've seen getting all the hypes will only last for sometimes after which the season comes to a close and it goes off the limelight, are those what you're using to make comparison with Bitcoin?

In general, you can invest anywhere because it's your money and as long as you know what you're doing with your money. If you want fast, high profits then altcoins will obviously suit your taste better, but don't forget that high profits come with high risks.
Most people here will choose bitcoin although the profits will sometimes not be as big as alts bring but one thing is for sure it is much safer. It depends on each person's preferences because I believe people here are also investing in altcoins but it won't take up too much of their portfolio .

By the way, bitcoin is for everyone, even the poor because you can invest in it with any amount of money you have. But if you are looking to get rich quickly with little capital, it is true that bitcoin cannot give you that.

I share your opinion, the OP created a bunch of low value content, and he obviously thought that he would achieve something with it - now that he realized that there was nothing from it, he suddenly changed his mind about BTC. Just one more in a series of those who thought that Bitcoin is a magical money that rises at least 10% every day and in a month you are a rich man.

We should ask him what he thinks about altcoins in a month or two when he becomes aware of pump&dump schemes.

The OP's point is that those fractions of bitcoin are unlikely to make him much money. Let's be honest here: 0.001 BTC won't make you any money. Bitcoin is currently at approximately $62,000; thus, 0.001 BTC is $62. On the one hand, it's unreasonable to believe that such a small amount can yield great profits, but this idea stems from the earlier days in 2012–2015, when its value was significantly lower, and because of pump and dump coins that may or may not become profitable, they're purely a gamble and shouldn't be considered a valid investment.

But, Bitcoin = crypto.

This is a good comparison. The early buyers have got the edge to make more profit than the new ones that are shrimps to the market and have lesser amount to invest on Bitcoin. But if it's with bulk amounts like more than 0.01BTC, they're part of those investors that are likely to make some profit with a few thousands of move. And just as the stock market, there are a lot of choice there but they've got lesser volatility. The volatility that bitcoin has got will become lesser as time passes by. For the assurance of someone who wants to make money in the long run, Bitcoin is still a good choice as it's the blue chip stock of the whole cryptocurrency market. Also to compare the past prices of Bitcoin, we'll never have an idea on how high it will be.

Its up to you if that's what you feel towards bitcoin since somehow its hard to convince a person if they don't see any worth on something they don't like. Maybe you need to get an experience to deal with altcoins and shitcoins since it seems like you didn't experience to lose your money on a lot of rug pull schemes happening on this tokens.

Investment needs patience and you need to have that if you want to acquire bitcoin. But it seems you want a fast profit that's why you think altcoin and shitcoins could give you what you like to happen. But everything is not guaranteed in the path you choose since market for those tokens is so volatile and risk to get scam is so high so maybe you might realize later on that bitcoin still more better than those tokens you mentioned.

The real money is in Bitcoin, its market cap size and its influence over altcoins' price prove that. It's also not for rich investors but it's for those who want almost guaranteed profit with a normal ROI range like 500% on average. If you want to buy a coin that will bring you 1000x profit, then Bitcoin is not really for you but you need to be super lucky to find such a coin. These days, only meme coins achieve that level of return on investment and buying them is risky as hell.

Before I started investing in Bitcoin I invested in new coins and I lost a lot of money, the only reason you are saying these is because you don't want to be patient, Bitcoin is a very nice investment.
A lot of people wants to take Bitcoin as there only source of income which is not a good idea, like me I'm working and I only decided to have an investment I tried some which did not go down well with me and that is why I decided to go into Bitcoin investment.
Bitcoin investment is not only for the rich I will say Bitcoin investment is for people who has a source of income, if you have a good source of income you can accumulate and hold Bitcoin for long time and that is the only way you can make good profit from Bitcoin.
If you no you don't have a source of income don't bother investing if not you will feel frustrated.

Still, even with 0.01 BTC, which is a reasonable amount of money (a little over $6,000 at the moment), you can't have exceptional extraordinary expectations from your investment. You might be able to yield $2,000 - $4,000 perhaps in a few years, which isn't bad, but some people have way higher expectations due to the hype with a few pump coins, such as Doge, Siba and plenty of others which managed to yield great returns to a limited number of investors.

I think you are intentionally creating this topic to draw attention to yourself rather than serious discussion when you know full well that the people on the forum are mostly bitcoin enthusiasts rather than shitcoins, LOL.

Invest in bitcoin or shitcoin but our common goal is to make profit, that's all. It's really bold to say 500% profit guarantee because if you're DCA-ing Bitcoin, you need to wait at least 7+ years because invested in Bitcoin for 7 years only give 450%~ profit. I'd say 200%-300% profit is more realistic because people usually hold for 4 years.

It's true that there are some altcoins that can generate a very significant profit for lucky investors, depending on the amount that was invested. Every investor has a different level of knowledge about a particular asset and also the level of risk they can tolerate. For an investor who cannot tolerate the high volatility rate of altcoins and doesn't also have good knowledge about altcoins, the best choice for that investors is Bitcoin. Personally, I see altcoin investment as a 50/50 kind of investment; it's either it profits you or you lose. 

For a newbie that is just starting off their cryoto journey, I don't agree that altcoins should be the first choice unless the person has already acquired very professional knowledge about crypto investment or perhaps if the person has a cryoto expert as a mentor. For just a common newbie who doesn't know anything serious about crypto, if they decide to go with altcoin first, the amount of loss they will get is unmeasurable.

There is a potential to make money from most cryptocurrency, but the chances are not always high. It may seem as though investing in bitcoin to make money is a bit late for you who is just new to cryptocurrency, but there is a more reliable chance you make money from it than most cryptocurrency, that is why there it is mostly recommended and there is a hype around it. I still recommend bitcoins to people, and I tell them that if they can invest calculatedly and wisely in bitcoins, there is profit to still be made.

Bitcoin mostly is a long term investment and also a better way to save your money, make transactions and many other features such as gambling without KYC process. I disagree with you that bitcoin is only for the rich. Anyone can invest in bitcoin, no matter how big or small the amount is, you can still invest it in bitcoin. To some extent, you're probably right that making instant money is highly possible with shitcoins but it's more important to note that there's price for whatever you choose to do in crypto. Altcoins can make you multiple x of your investment and possibly reck you down completely within a blink of eyes.

When someone puts their assets in shitcoin to make money of course this has a big risk of losing their money especially if they do not understand well the type of altcoin they choose then of course it will make them easily lose the assets they invest and it would be better for them to first understand well what they will do with the funds they have so that they can make a profit on the investment that we will run.

If you think you have been wasting your time with Bitcoin, why not leave even the forum. Just for some educational purposes, check some altcoins that were listed on the exchange from 2020 to now, check their previous all time high and the all time high they did when Bitcoin did a new one in this bull run. A lot of them collapsed including Bitcoin but came back, Bitcoin recovered 101% but only few altcoins made another all time high, even Ethereum price never walk near the previous all time. Know this and know peace in your investment on altcoins.

The only reason why I think some people choose some altcoins instead of Bitcoin is because they feel that Bitcoin is too expensive and it takes a lot of time and effort for someone who don't have or earn enough money to build a huge portfolio in Bitcoin that will guarantee their profits and people are impatient, they just want to invest and start seeing the profits immediately but Bitcoin investments doesn't work that way as you have to hold for long term profits.

Investing in Bitcoin does not mean buying a whole Bitcoin but building your portfolio gradually and consistently. Sometimes the reasons why people feel they are wasting their time investing in Bitcoin is due to the fact that they monitor the activities of altcoins in the market and see some altcoins skyrocket so high within a short time frame but they forget to know that most altcoins are mare pump and dump coins so if you use because an altcoin is pumping and decides to invest in it, when it starts dumping it is always a drastic dump without any sustainability.

When it comes to cryptocurrency investments we don't force or detect to people which investments they need to choose, people have the right to go for any investment they feel it is right for them and since you have done your research to see bitcoin is not good for you then good for you. But only time will tell and your experience to tell if investing in altcoins is more better than bitcoin. Absolutely wrong opinion. I have been in cryptocurrencies since 2016-2017 and I can say that Bitcoin can make an investor rich if he approaches investing with patience and reasonable analysis. All these memecoins and altcoins (except Ethereum) are dummies that only take away attention and time. These are lotteries that have no connection between price and their usefulness. Only Bitcoin is worthy of attention and investment.

Altcoins can still be profitable but if we are looking for long term investment, hence we should only stick to bitcoin. Well, if you really think that bitcoin is for the rich people, it means that you aren't ready to become rich in the future years to come.
However, to invest in Bitcoin is by choice and if you really think that Bitcoin can not give you quick money as you have excepted it properly because Bitcoin (crypto) is not a get rich quick scheme.
Even if you were able to get good profits from altcoins/shitcoins it's just luck that you were able to profit from it, anything crypto (altcoins/shitcoins) doesn't give you quick money unless it's a scam or you invested at the right time.
Let me use a airdrop as an instance, most airdrops that was listed earlier bumped after the launched and many people that believe on altcoins and shitcoins as you do, buys the airdrop and after some few days the airdrop depreciate rapidly.

I cannot find any connection with this on what you quoted wanted to imply. It simply means that Bitcoin is too expensive.  In order to get a life changing profit today, we need a huge amount of money to invest to Bitcoin.  Like we are expecting a $150k ATH, the peak of the current bull run.  It is only around 3x of the current price, so in order for a person to get a million-dollar profit, he needs to invest around $350k  and that is not a small amount.

Although it sounds funny, it tastes bitter to admit that if one wants a huge return in the shortest possible time, one needs to take risks and invest in new cryptocurrency projects.  I won't deny that there is also a huge chance that the investment money will be gone in the shortest possible time if they invested on scam projects.  So I suggest to really dig deep on any project a person is interested in investing.

If it's not bitcoin, then the more it shouldn't be altcoins or shitcoins because majority of them only fall as scams. I am not a bitcoin maximalist and I also invest partly in altcoins but I disagree with OP's statement. First: because bitcoin is for everyone, not just for the rich. Anyone can invest and make profit from it but the truth is that the profit from bitcoin is not as big as many altcoins give us. Second, it is true that investing in altcoins is not that bad because it can bring us more profits but that is only true when we find quality projects. Altcoins can be highly profitable but they are also very risky and we can even lose everything if we invest in the wrong project, so it cannot be said that the real money is in altcoins.

I get what you mean, you are saying that investing altcoin will give more profit, sure in a very special case altcoin can go x10 or even x100 in a short time, but there are thousands of altcoin now, and dozens new altcoins every month, statistically speaking you are more likely to marry a celebrity rather than choosing the right altcoin that give you x10 or even x100 profit. And the alternative when you get a shitcoin you will more likely to lose all of your money when the developer just ran and the coin become worthless.

Just like any other investment, in crypto more profit will have more risk. Bitcoin might give you small profit in a short time but it's far less risky compared to altcoin. And you can start buying bitcoin with very small amount, so you don't need to be rich to buy bitcoin.
