I want to say that I am so thankful to you for doing this. Literally brought tears to my eyes when I saw your message.

I actually almost made a thread with my story. I will share it here.
Over the last several years, we had six family members pass away, two of which were by suicide - both of them found hanging, one hanging from a tree on the side of the road and one hanging behind a Cracker Barrel. Then we had one of our close friends pass away about three weeks ago. All of this completely devastated us. I used to trade stocks (after selling the art business), but could no longer trade since we had to use the funds for so many different funeral services along with other life costs.

The primary thing I’m going through now is a divorce after fifteen years of marriage and I have no where to go live. Our lease ends in four weeks and the landlord said she’ll be selling the home. In two weeks, my wife is moving out into an apartment with the kids. The few things we had left like the dining room table, she sold and got a Venmo payment so she could front her moving costs. I literally came downstairs to see the table was gone. She has someone coming to get the couch tomorrow.

Note that she said she wanted to go back to school so I worked multiple jobs to support her getting her four year degree. Now, she’s graduated, and wants to separate. I was used, basically.

To add onto all this, I am constantly struggling to pay bills and I’m always paying double bills since I have to put many of them off. I’m working a full time job and then I’m driving Uber all night. I give myself Sunday off to recover so that I can do it all again the next week.

We’ve been sleeping in separate rooms for six months so honestly it’s gotten me into an acceptance phase and I’m doing okay. But financially I have absolutely no idea what I’m going to do. My plan was to just get a rooftop tent for my suv and just camp in it. Maybe go find myself. Then I thought about maybe just bouncing from airbnb to airbnb. It’s not stable at all, but I can’t get approved on leases because 3x income requirements, credit score, all kinds of concerns.

So honestly I don’t know. This has been a sincere storm that hit me starting in 2020 and it simply won’t stop raining.

I really want to reiterate that I sincerely appreciate this auction. You have a big heart, Cyrus. Thank you. This will help alleviate a lot of my concerns.

Very sorry to hear about your situation Frank, and much kudos to Cyrus for setting up this auction.  I have done business with you many years back so I know what you are going through must be sincere.  Bad times can hit all of us, whether its financial, health, or personal.

I've sent a little bit of BTC to the address in the OP.  Hopefully others may follow or perhaps bid generously on this item.

Cheers and best wishes on keeping your head up through these tough times.

Cyrus....Please add to this auction winner the following ...

An entire set of Cypher Postage stamps...loaded with Bitcoin to face value...10,000 Satoshi ....some of the very first Bitcoin Stamps as well as the first and only Smart contract Timelock stamps in existance.  You can read more about them here

https://www.crypto-stamps.com/cypher.html

   https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/08/02/5PfpP.jpeg

I am also going to throw a Ballet card with my neon Bitbills artwork...I loaded all 50 with a few bucks of BTC but I randomly loaded one with $25. So you might get that one. To be honest with the rest of the free raffles I randomly grabbed one and have and will not check it.

Best of luck to ye all on the auction!

This is very kind of you. And it’s great to see you here on the forum. Yeah, I almost made a thread about it entirely by itself a few weeks ago. Had it all typed up and was actually going to ask if anyone could help because I am in last resorts mode. Ended up not posting it. I suppose the bad times help us appreciate the good times. It’s certainly made me appreciate life in general. But I’ve become extremely alienated. I have no one but my kids. No where to turn for trust, compassion, etc. So honestly this forum … it really just amazes me. Yall really do.

Thank you also to Zip.

And very generous of you krogo to add items into the auction. Thanks everyone 🙏

I like Krogoth's and hybridsoles ideas - I will be adding some of the extra items I have laying around to the auction as well - kinda like increasing the Lot1 items/values hopefully encouraging more bids and thus sending @frankbitcoin some more sats :)

Great haul of collectibles on offer here, well done to all the donators!

unfortunately I wont be making a bid, its gone way above my pay grade. Best of luck to
whomever bags this auction but I have made a small Satoshi donation.

Best of luck to Frank, you will come through the troubles, you will just have to get past
this rough patch. If there is one thing BTC has thought us is to be positive!

Thank you to you and aoluain as well.

Yeah, just one thing after the next. All the while I have to work and go into meetings and act like nothing is going on and pretend that everything is okay. "How was your weekend bro?" "Oh it was great, just relaxed." (The true internal thought: "Well, I bicycled to the bay and sat on the dock looking out at the water and cried for several hours, then biked back home and fell asleep...)

I have legitimately wondered if I'm in a coma. Which is basically like depersonalization, I guess. Then I watched that movie "The Shift" and that actually really shook me up because it made me think maybe that happened - maybe my wife got shifted into a different reality or something. In truth, none of that is real, and it's just a terrible situation. Ultimately I think I am being refined and that ten years from now I'll look back on all this and understand why I had to go through it all. It's taken me a lot of time to get to that mentality.

Title: Re: [CHARITY AUCTION] Bitcoin Sunrise Stamp Display + BIG BONUSES
Post by: frankbitcoin on August 04, 2024, 06:40:25 PM
The other problem I have is that for the life of me I cannot find a better paying job. I work for a fortune 100 tech company. BUT I'm hired by an agency as a 'contractor' so my pay is $20 an hour and they refuse to give me a raise despite training other employees, "having the best conversations", etc. So because of this I'm then doing Uber late at night (I think I mentioned this), driving around a bunch of drunk people - each and every day I'm completely drained at work but somehow I push through it. And then still can't pay bills. I'm always two bills behind, extending car loan length, changing car loan due date, requesting extensions, extension for power bill, all this stuff. It's like a cascade. Add this to the depression and shock of the divorce, the deaths in my family, etc, and it's very crippling. There's just this voice in me that keeps saying "keep going. it's going to get better."

And I can't ever take a day off from work because everything would completely collapse. I wish I could have some kind of 'bereavement leave' and just vanish for a few months. That would take a miracle. It's what I'm going to be forced to do, soon, anyway - I plan on staying with my job but since I work remote, I'm just going to work out of my suv with my laptop. I haven't figured out the AC issues though. Was looking into the eco flow wave 2 but then I'll have to run pipes out of the car. And I can't work out of libraries or starbucks because I am actively handling inbound calls so this requires me to be in full conversation all day. I don't know. All of it is really just a crappy situation. Every single apartment I've looked at has told me I don't qualify because I dont have the 3x income. I'm hopeful maybe I can receive enough donations that I could just pay the entire lease or something. I wont ask anyone to do that. But if everyone continues sending me some sats, maybe it will be doable.

This auction has been a miracle in and of itself, I really appreciate yall, it means so much. i was able to make this payment yesterday thanks to yall (double internet bill):

I think this might be wrong - The countdown is for August 16th. The upcoming Sunday is August 11th.

Would be good to have the correct Sunday listed (whichever it may be) to avoid issues with the bids later.

Corrected to the 16th. Thank you for catching that!
The auction is meant to last for 2 weeks.

Updated the list of people that donated to the address in the OP. Thank you as well to rsincognito, 2stout, aoluain and OneDown!

Also, taking this opportunity to announce that a few more cool items were donated and at this point it would only make sense to run a second auction based on lots!  :D
Thank you mx12.levins and 2stout for making that happen! If anyone else wants to contribute to the second auction please get in contact so we can coordinate the lots.

This is Vires in Numeris!

Words cannot describe how appreciative I am of you all. In a world that has become so silent and lonely, it's really heartwarming to know that there's people right here on this forum that care about me and my wellbeing.

Thank you all so much.

Awesome auction.

I'm hoping Frank can make it out of this situation.

Sadly, I know others within my own life who are also falling behind financially.

Living in a car would cut your bills, but now you don't have a mailing address to receive packages from.

I think USPS requires a prior physical address before allowing you to open a PO box.

I agree. everything is more expensive. if funds are getting short, then indeed there needs to be the goal of reducing costs and expenses. Try to stay away from credit and loans.

I am happy that my only loan is on my house (hope to eliminate that soon) and my 1 credit card is paid off every month.

I will starve and walk (vs driving) before I ring up more debt.

Debt and credit are very powerful tools.

By taking on debt at a low interest rate, suddenly you can finance an entire business operation for a whole year.

If you don't have much credit reputation or history this becomes super hard because everything you are doing is now debit only.

While guys out here are getting loans and moving 10x the speed of yourself, you are stuck with only the ability to use funds that you currently have.

Debt is a super-power,  and it can be used to finance empires or finance their destruction.

Usury and interest are an entirely different problem.

Agreed. From my understanding you can utilize a UPS mailing address as your home address.

To make matters worse the contract with my job ends in a little over a week and, I thought they’d be renewing it, but the company announced they’re actually cutting 10% of the workforce.

And I’m still $1k behind on current bills. I have cut everything I possibly can, negotiated lower phone bill, lower car insurance, etc. car bill is one of the largest.

I don’t know yall. I’m in a really bad position right now. Any help is still greatly appreciated.
