Title: Should I hold Ethereum or sell it?
Post by: BTC_pokaop on August 06, 2024, 07:57:21 AM
I hold some ethereum, but currently the price of ethereum coin has dropped a lot, I bought ethereum at $3000, now it's down to $2500. Is the price of Ethereum likely to increase?

You will incur a loss if you sell Ethereum now. Currently the global market and cryptocurrency market are in red but that doesn't mean it will stay in read. A few months back Ethereum was above the $3K mark and if you continue to hold on you will recover your loss. I would not suggest you to sell your Ethereum now.

Well everyone one is out for profit and just like pakhitheboss mentioned, if you sell those coins now you would simply be in a loss of over 18%. Almost every crypto investor now is simply holding on to their coins especially the popular and most adopted ones which include Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is because they are all of the opinion that this current crypto dip is just for a while and will most likely subside sooner.

If you are patient enough to HODL till you are eventually back in profit (which should be the better option) then HODL on to those coins. However if you feel a loss of over 18% to you would be insignificant then you can proceed to selling off your coins. (In the end you would likely wish you hadn't sold them )

If you have more money to buy, I will advice you to buy more. But I will recommend you to buy bitcoin instead. Maybe I am totally right but I do not see the point of buying ether when its price is now very similar to bitcoin but in a way that if the market is not good, ether will decrease more than bitcoin.

Assuming you bought it at $3000 with $50. Now the price is at $2500. If you buy another $50 worth of it, you will start making money at $2750. If you bought it with huge amount of money already, just wait and let its price get to over $3000 again. If you use small amount of money and planing to buy more before, it is better. You can read about DCA.

Who cares with your holding.

If users in this forum ask you sell your coins, you will not be happy with your decision and might likely not want to sell it even there are more people say sell than hold.

If users in this forum ask you to hold and sell after the price reach $5K, you will not share your profit to other users.

It's not likely the price of Ethereum is going back to 3k in a short time. I consider how bad the situation is in the macroeconomics of many countries. It's likely another dump is going to happen soon. Though Ethereum is now recovering, I'm doubting it now. The pattern is not even showing retracement.

This can be even worse than you think, and the better if you're always keeping your eyes on the flow of ethereum ETF. I'm feeling very pessimistic about the current state of crypto. I'm thinking we're moving back to the bottom soon.

Retail investors are scared to enter the market. Various countries are hitting their lows, too.

Ethereum has a positive net inflow today. But it may not last. It could drop again if the war happens. Always be careful and stay safe.

Agreed! There are lots of factors to consider and the situation will change in the near future, in my opinion. When the news hits the market, we already see their influence on it, it's not like they will continue to influence it for half a year or two or that we can use them to our own benefit (only those who know the news first - can, and we probably won't be those people).

You are correct it is not prudent decision to sell Ethereum or any other such precious coin in the current market. This market has just begun to recover  after a major crash and hopefully it will continue recovering in the coming days and weeks. The negative news of interest rates increase in Japan has already been absorbed but market might take few week to reach to the previous level. I am very bullish on Ethereum, specially since its its ETF has been approved in USA, its positive impact on Ethereum's price is yet to be seen. DYOR

Ethereum will definitely increases, but before then you may have to exercise more patience while holding for the market to pump more higher than before, ethereum was not the only affected coin this time if you consider the y the entire crypto markets plummets as at yesterday before things began to show positive indications for rising up back again earlier today, if you can hold on more, you will realized to the extent of getting your investment back and the profit on it.

You bought Ethereum at the top but don’t panic because the market will recover and may even pass the 3k resistance. Ethereum is a good coin to hold for long term. After Bitcoin, Ethereum is the next big coin in the crypto market. Looking at the tech side of Ethereum (it’s influence in smart contracts, Defi e.t.c.) the future of the Ethereum looks very promising. The price may be down now but I encourage you to hodl your coins and even buy the dip at a good price. As always, do your own research.

Even bitcoin is going down so ethereum's price is a little related to the performance of bitcoin. Once bitcoin goes up again, and it will, I am sure that ethereum will follow soon after. It has etf now so there are more people that can invest in it and hike the price up. Just have a little faith and patience.

OP, it looks likes Ethereum is the reason today why the cryptocurrency market is now in green. Institutional investors used the declining price as an opportunity and bought as much as they can. There was an inflow of $48M though Ethereum ETF which is a good sign. Keep on holding as I wrote earlier here and you will get a good profit from your investment.

This is the first time you have seen this type of dip in the crypto market. It is normal to feel this way right now because you are a newbie, but don't be afraid; this is the volatile part of crypto you heard about. Yes, the Ethereum price will likely increase after the heavy dump in the crypto market yesterday. This is not the first time Ethereum has experienced something like this, and it keeps rising back. Don't be tempted to sell your Ethereum at a loss. Ethereum will start rising if the bitcoin price recovers quickly, because coins and tokens depend on bitcoin's performance to increase.

Does it makes sense for you to sell at losses and that's why you're asking and you're in panic? Why didn't you sold when it was $3400 a month ago? I hold few Ethereum and I'm already in profit and that's why I am not in panic and bought it earlier than you but, there was also a point of time when I've held it under its bought price but I have decided to go long with it and that's why even the price plummeted and it was below the bought price of mine, I didn't panic. Clear your mind and set your goals of being long term, don't panic.

This is not a financial advice but yes.  ;)

I don't think it's time to sell Ethereum. Ethereum is one of the most important long-term projects. It's one of the most solid stones in the crypto world. It's the only coin other than Bitcoin that I think of as an investment in the future that I expect to stand strong along with Bitcoin. That's why I don't recommend selling during these declines unless you urgently need money.

Did only Ethereum drop, or did the entire market bleed when Bitcoin fell below $50,000? Many factors contributed to this decline. It's worth noting that if you sell at a loss now, whales and companies will buy what you sold. Also, even though you bought ETH at a high price, you're not the only one who has experienced this short-term loss. Ethereum is one of the strongest currencies in the market, and it’s not a project where you should fear losing your money. These are natural fluctuations influenced by Bitcoin's price. However, if you are a long-term investor, there’s no need to worry or panic, as the fate of these established currencies in the market is to recover and rise, even if it takes time. As for me, I have bought the dip and increased my ETH holdings.

I feel like it's a smart move to hold it at this moment, everything is down at the moment which means that if we could just hold some more then we would be doing fine. I feel like we are going to go past the 3000 mark very soon, it should not be all that time consuming to recover. We are already doing fine, the bottom happened and it shot right back up again, so we should not really consider this as a bad deal, it's actually a fine deal if you ask me.

I think we are going to end up with a good result one way or another, and because of that I think that we are going to face something much better with time. I know that it is not that easy to handle all of this, but it is also not that complicated neither, we are going to probably do fine, we just need some time. So hold it for now.

Right now you should hold on to ETH, because the current market is down right now, selling right now will definitely hurt you. So hold on for some more time, because the market will rebound very soon. Then if you sell after ETH goes to 3.50K, you will profit. So don't sell at a loss right now and wait for some time. Then you can earn more.

It would be biggest mistake of you end up selling Ethereum now, rather hodl on to it as historic data is proof that Ethereum and Bitcoin have always bounced back from the dip and same thing is gonna happen with Ethereum. If you look at the Ethereum chart this is not the first time it has dropped below $3000 as it has happened numerous times this year and everything it has buckled up.

$3000 is a good entry price hence have patience make the most out of it atleast sell it for 10% profit which is very easily achievable and has been achieved in the past as well.

Stop right there, breathe, stop checking the price so often. Go outside & do things you enjoy. Ethereum will absolutely go up, it will soar in price over the next 18 months. Stop being so short term with your thinking though, what we witnessed in the last 36 hrs was merely a bull run correction. We’ve already retraced some of the dump. The price today doesn’t matter, do not sell, we will be at a lot higher price this time next year.

Indeed, good things come in the life of people who wait and demonstrate resilience. Ethereum is not any ordinary alt coin, it is well established and recognized digital currency, won confidence of investor's with its exceptional utility. With $47Billion total value locked on its protocols indicates its strength and trust of inventors. I am confident it will show its real colour in the next anticipated bullish market, therefore it would be wise to hold it your Ethereum coins and wait for the bull cycle.

You have a loss of $500 / coin that you have right now, of course it hurts if you have a lot of Ethereum in your wallet.
I also have Ethereum and the amount is not much either when I bought ethereum at $2900, of course it has a loss too, but I am quite confident that later this year or next year it will increase to more than $3000 and may form a new ATH even though it is difficult for Altcoins like Ethereum.

In my opinion, if your Ethereum is idle, it is better for you to be active in the ecosystem to get rewards, especially projects that are being built that will give you compensation or airdrops if your ethereum is used to be active in projects that are being developed, but pay attention to the projects that are being built so that you don't lose your ethereum. It's only a matter of time before we bounce back (in both BTC and Ethereum, in my opinion), we should believe the plan we've got (everybody has his own, I at least believe we do ;)) and stick to it. That way, great results await.

OP, it's good that you invested in Ethereum. Investing in altcoins is risky, some altcoins in the market don't rise easily when the price goes down, but the price of Ethereum will definitely go up a lot in the future. Ethereum, the most popular and trusted coin among altcoins, is expected to profit well in the upcoming Bitcoin bull run. When the price of Bitcoin rises, the prices of Ethereum and various altcoins start to rise. We may see a bull run soon and the price of ethereum may go up a lot in a bull run. So I would advise you that it would be better for you to hold Ethereum because it is not that the price of Ethereum will not increase in the future, it will definitely increase. Well we are now seeing price of Ethereum that is going back up. I do not think this is a good time for us to be selling off our coins for so cheap.
It is showing some signs of 'bullish' reversal after a bad day. There is maybe rate cuts in the US that will help the price rebound some more.

Besides Bitcoin, Ethereum is another reliable coin that can be kept for a long time. Selling now will be a waste since you have already lost almost $500. The market is already turning green, so be patient until you recover your capital or make some profit.

There are speculations that the US might cut interest rates next month. The drop in employment statistics will force the Feds to reduce it, but nobody knows how low the cut will be. Next month might see a massive increase in the price of some coins; these are just my speculations.

I think it definitely makes sense to hold on to it and, if possible, even buy more ETH on the drawdown. Yes, it's not the best phase of the market right now, but a lot of factors have influenced it, and yet I'm sure that the price will be higher in the future, I expect $4k in the future.

Judging by the day you made this post, I advise you to hold your Ethereum, if at all you would sell it, you should let it at least rise back to around its ATH of this year. Selling a market when it has depreciated so much as Ethereum did already is not a smart decision and I am sure that in a few weeks or within the next 2 months, Ethereum may have been back to its 2024 peak or even move past the level. In the worst case, it would have hit a price that is very close to it. This is more money for you as an investment in Ethereum is somewhat secure, unlike many other useless altcoins.

Yes, the price of Ethereum is going to spike when the bull market starts. If you sell now, you might still blame yourself by the time you see the price spike to $4.5k. Investment in cryptocurrency requires patience and the right strategy. If you had only invested part of your capital initially at $3000 price, you would have had the opportunity to buy more now that the price is below $3k.

Ethereum is a top altcoin and that means that if it's price dips that it has the potentials to pump again and reach a new ATH. I can only worry about offloading my bag if I'm holding a coin/token that has not gained reputation in the crypto market, we have a lot of shitcoins in the crypto space but I wouldn't count Ethereum among them. Instead of selling your Ethereum, I'll rather advice you to accumulate more if you have the fund because I'm uptimistic that it'll bull in the alt season. Cryptocurrencies are volatile and we shouldn't worry when any reputable cryptocurrency like Bitcoin and Ethereum is in price dip

ETH is considered the second safest after bitcoin in this market, and even if you have no faith in ETH, I think there will be no better choice for you unless you intend to sell ETH to buy bitcoin. If you decide to sell ETH just to buy other altcoins, it will be a worse decision.

ETH is also a potential investment no less than bitcoin. Although it cannot be compared to bitcoin, it is clearly more worth investing in than any other altcoin. Currently, we only have bitcoin ETF and ETH ETF, just look at them and you will see that choosing to invest in ETH is not a bad choice besides BTC.

You are brave enough to buy Eth at a fairly high price, it must be a halving moment purchase. Unfortunately selling now is not the right choice, a loss of almost ±25% is too risky. It is better to hold your Eth, don't store it on the exchange. At least withdraw it to a personal wallet to avoid panicking seeing the recent decline. In my opinion, apart from your losses, it can still be said that having Eth is better than other altcoins that cannot return to their highest prices during the bull run. Eth always follows bitcoin in its movements. We have seen that in every phase, there is still a bull run to come, maybe in early 2025, because usually 1 year after the halving, you can sell the Eth you own again.

Yes, currently the price of Ethereum is relatively low. I'm in the same situation as you but I bought a whole Ethereum in 2023 from around $2300. Since my Ethereum purchase, the market has continued to rise, reaching above $4,000 at one point. I left the price of ethereum to go higher but unfortunately it is slowly moving down from that position. Ethereum currently stands at $2,300, but I'm not worried because I think the price will definitely go up. I believe Ethereum will recover its value by 2024 If you bought your Ethereum at $3000 don't sell it now at a loss you must hold your Ethereum until you get a profit from your investment.

which is certain that it will likely go up again by not selling it that's what you need for now by holding it, making the decline in ethereum which resulted in liquidation in the market raise concerns about it, although it will be volatile but the situation will subside, with the potential for price recovery driven by positive factors and upcoming technical improvements, which are expected to start its upward trend again, by achieving market adoption at this time, it will be able to increase market confidence and investor interest, so there will be another increase that's what you need to wait for now.

This is exactly the feeling you would have but mate I would advise you not to sell. infact if your in the position to buy more I will prefer you buy more and hold them this is the last time in this year Ethereum will dip and if you hold for longer term you would be in the best profit.

Eth will grow for sure it's just FOMO that is your problem at this point but don't follow the crowd to sell but instead be amongst the few that will buy now.

Yeah, those who follow the smart money and go against the crowd are those who will be fortunate to have a place under the sun. Which is, in our case, a good portfolio with green all around and a good mood from knowing that it's because of your own actions and analysis.

If you don't what to do with your Ethereum and you cannot take much the pain for holding its because you are been stressed out due to current condition of this coin then I guess much better for you to do a cut loss to avoid experiencing more heavy stress. Since for sure you will never feel happy with slow result coming for now and maybe just think about your current loss as one of unwanted experience that you should learn from.

But if you can able to handle the stress and have other extra money to spend then much also better if you just hold it and let it sleep on your wallet while market is not doing any good. Since provably in future price would recover, but for now expect that ETH price would just play at current rate since market still in questionable condition which people don't know if we are going on a bearish or bullish season will follow up after the dump happened.

You are right! I would say that, in my opinion, the market is 50/50 on the sentiment of the future. Some think there would be a further dip because of the many factors we have in mind, others that we may go up from there because the dip already happened and bad news shaked us a bit. There shouldn't be any stress during the whole process, because it's the nature of the market to be volatile and change because of the factors we may not know before it's too late. We should strive to use the aftermath of such events for ourselves and improve, both technically and mentally.

There is nothing to be weird about, mate. You need to understand that Ethereum is not like an ordinary coin it is the second largest Altcoins after Bitcoin. Indeed in the short term, Ethereum shows us a little bit of bearish sentiment because of the market dump, but to be honest it's a normal. Ethereum has great strength of potential and I am pretty sure that it will show up his boost in the new Bull run. So be strong..

In my opinion you need to stay strong and just HODL. Because the strong adoption of Ethereum is evidence that Ethereum will spike in the next bull run. While there is in next year have a high chance of Alt season. So beyond any doubt, Ethereum will skyrocket in price. So just hold a wait until the next bull run otherwise, if you sell it then in the next bull market you will be regret on it. Also try to accumulate Ethereum as much as possible.

DYOR !

The market might be 50:50 but people that take risk are the takers and we need to understand that, everything in crypto generally is risk and when you risk that is when you will get a lot of opportunities because for the time have experienced in cryptocurrency their is a lot of opportunity to make use of is just left for us to actually understand and make use of that opportunity. If you want to because of the risk you don't want to invest then that fear will limit you of a lot of opportunities out there in crypto. And factors will always reflect of the market so let us, have this in mind and it is only those that are new that will worry about the market if not their is nothing new that as not happened before in cryptocurrency.

Exactly you told appropriate when bull market will start then he will blame himself there has no doubt. We know up and down will be nataurally in cryptocurrenchy market. Now we are seeing crypto market is down but it can be turn anytime. We know some days ago Bitcoin halving has been happen, so it has some effect which we will see any time i think. So he bought ethereum $3000 it is not fact. He can follow DCA method now. When bull market will come then he will be huge profited.

I do agree that it will recover, way too many people are thinking that it is going to do fine, and we should be considering the fact that it is going to take some time and that is why I believe that we are going to make some profit if we keep holding at times, and this is one of those days and I think it is going to do just fine, we could make that work if we just keep on holding it.

Right now it is way too low, ETH is low too, well to be fair everything is low right now because we just had a crash, mainly due to Japan, but also recession, well both combined. I think that was just a temporary thing and with time we are going to see it do well. Recovery is something we do very fast, so it should not be a big deal and we can do it very quickly.

If you sell now it means you have decided to suffer a loss because you are selling below the purchase price, the decision is in your hands. But I say, be patient first, wait for the price to rise again or be slightly above the initial price you bought. That is if you are not in an urgent situation meaning you need fast funds

I don't think it's 50/50 but it's healthy and the ups and downs in it are only normal. We can only say that the future is uncertain and there might still be a chance for cryptos to disappear one day for some reasons despite them being not-so-new already in the financial market. Cryptos are composed of different coins and this is where you should put your ratio since some or many of them are not performing well and there is a good chance for them to get de-listed one day. About the general market, I'm with those who said that the market will now recover and I think it did already happened. Trump and his involvement with BTC lately have said to also contribute with that.

Why will you buy ethereum for $3000 and sell it after your price has dropped to $2500? It doesn’t make any sense to me. The best thing to do is for you to hold and wait for it to bounce back. You are holding a very strong coin, and I'm sure when the market bounces back, it’s really going to recover quickly. The crash that happens doesn’t happen to only ethereum, you can see that every coin dumped, including bitcoin, so what I will recommend is that you should keep on holding, and if you have some money, then you can accumulate more of it and wait for the price to increase.

Now them price of Ethereum has raised to $2600k; if you keep holding, it will bounce back because Bitcoin price is now recovering which I believe ETH will also recover as well.
You don’t have to rush if you wants to make profit in crypto space, once you are able to invest your money on any coin you trust through your research and findings, you need to just hold on and give it some years, you will be surprised with the profit you will have after some years.

It does take time for you to hold it until the price really goes up, don't sell it, because there will be an opportunity to make a profit, because it is an opportunity that you should not miss, because the ethereum cryptocurrency stores the selling value, from the average short-term and long-term movements so that it provides a more negative estimate, because from the initial estimate, it shows that the cryptocurrency is now heading towards the next bullish cycle, and that is very promising for the opportunities ahead.

ETH is weak because the outflow from the ETF is still ongoing and it's lessening but there's still outflow regardless, I personally hold ETH and it made up big percentage of my portfolio if i'm being honest, i'm not impressed at all with ETH performance, can't even hit ATH, it is far behind compared to solana, i'm also thinking of rotating my investment to more better performing coin if ETH finally get bback to $3000 again and I recover my losses.

I still believe that ETH can always recover back and maybe hit $3500 again eventually but at the time ETH did this, solana probably already getting big increase.
however maybe ETH is just following BTC routine like weeks of outflow after first ETF listing and once the outflow is significantly lessened things will start to get better.

Ethereum is the best altcoin, and every time there is potential from an altcoin, then Ethereum has the first potential to increase. Personally, if I didn't have a need, and the money I was investing was money I was actually using specifically for investing, then I would continue to hold it. However, if you are afraid of losing more than that, and want to use the money, it might be better if you sell it. However, I still think about keeping it if you really use it for investment.

I hold some ethereum, but currently the price of ethereum coin has dropped a lot, I bought ethereum at $3000, now it's down to $2500. Is the price of Ethereum likely to increase?

Well as you know the bullish price of Ether or any cryptocurrency is pretty difficult due to the natural volatility of the market. Many factors can affect whether the price of Ethereum can further increase. Market dynamics, including all sentiments, regulatory changes, and technological developments, play an important role in the crypto space. As I have read somewhere (forgot the exact post), Ethereum’s transition to Ethereum 2.0, aimed at increasing scalability and reducing energy consumption, could have a positive impact on its price if the upgrade is successful along with the regulatory environment that matters. Favorable regulation or increased institutional accreditation can raise prices, while restrictive policies can have the opposite effect. From what I know, prices increase due to investor sentiment and speculative trading following positive news or celebrity endorsements for example of this i think is memecoin. On the other hand, broader economic factors such as inflation and interest rates might have had a huge effect on the prices of cryptocurrencies because most of the investors or traders make use of technical analysis to foresee the movement of prices using historical data (tho this isn't always reliable in its ways because investments in cryptocurrency are very risky and volatile). It can't hurt to diversify your portfolio to stay on top of the market trends or buys bitcoin too if you have enough money. Plus points for consulting here with the community, that's a good start.

I think there is no need to worry because ethereum is a coin that is already trusted for a long time and if it fall it will rise again same with bitcoin and other top altcoins in the market just always remember that you will not going to loss if you dont sell at loss and holder always win based on the past price of ethereum.

Market conditions were not good again, a few weeks ago the crypto market plunged, Bitcoin's total almost touched $50,000, Don't sell Ethereum now, you will experience a loss of %.50, it's better to hold on until the price rises to $4000. In some reports, an altcoin season or bull run will occur this year, Ethereum and Bitcoin will peak at a new ATH, just wait for the market to start to improve.
I think it was a general thing, about days ago the market was down, and even Bitcoin experienced it's own share of the dip likewise every other coins that follows it's trend, it gave investors an opportunity to accumulate more coins to their portfolio and if the OP had bought more BTC or even ETH I think there won't be anything to worry about, Ethereum is the next coin to Bitcoin and why I like it is that it's beneficial to both long and short term investors and anyone Hodling it currently is on the right track since the price would definitely go high again. What I have to say to the OP is that he shouldn't be discouraged by the dip of the ETH he's holding on his portfolio but rather accumulate more at any given opportunity, ETH is not a pump and dump coin and since it's moving with the trend of Bitcoin he'll definitely recover his lose with time.

This is good question that deserves a good answer, ethereum is said to best the altcoin, this coin has been in existence for a while, ethereum pumps immediatey Bitcoin pump although coins do the same but one thing you should know is that a coin that maintains it's lead in the market for some number of years and also continue to to do the needful by dipping and pumping is likely to be a good coin, op, my question to you is, has there been a dip season that has ever made ethereum not to recover once Bitcoin pump? I think this question is self explanatory, this brings us back to your question, the price of ethereum will definitely increase considering the fact that this is not the first time the market dip is affecting ethereum price, the thing is that there are processes this coins must go through, there is know need for the panic at the moment rather I advise that you keep hope alive and expect the best hence the coin is still at its recovery stage.

However, it is vital to realize that the cryptocurrency market is extremely unpredictable and difficult to forecast with precision. Regulation, technology adoption, and global economic conditions can all have an impact on Ethereum price fluctuations.
Ethereum's price, like that of other cryptocurrencies, is heavily impacted by supply and demand. When there is a high demand for Ethereum, the price can rise. Conversely, when a large number of individuals want to sell, the price can fall, and we must remember that Ethereum has undergone multiple upgrades to boost scalability and lower transaction costs, so we now pay cheap fees when transacting on the Ethereum network.

Ethereum has potential to cross 10k $ milestone, but unfortunately ETH trades between 1200$ to 3200$ from previous year but it will touch its ATH price so hold at least by the end of this year, ETH most probably cross the 5k$ milestone.

Is there a coin out there that is not down? Ethereum is down because the market is moving the way all the coins are moving. Bitcoin is far from its all time all high, you should expect other coin to follow the same order. The only coins that are still maintaining there previous all time is are the coins that a listed perhaps a week from last weeks, almost all has lose their grip from the previous all time and so is ethereum price.

What I think significantly dropped the price of Ethereum was the ETF approval. A lot of people that were capitalizing on ethereum ETF approval from SEC has sold their bags, about 8 ETFs were granted by the security exchange commission and nothing bullish again after the announcement, those who bought the rumors and sold the news has drop their bags, it's left for you to decide if you see future in ethereum or you are willing to drop your bag here.

As much as I can tell from my own ignorance. Since you are buying during the 3k price, I think it is better to hold now.  Because it is the 2nd biggest coin in the market which will take less time to recover. I can suggest you something if you have more money you can dip which will be good for you. And if you have more patience then you Wait for the market pump it will do you much good and profit.

Before going into investment there are things you need to understand, such as market volatility which comprises of ups and downs of the price movement and you should also understand that the market is not always Rossy all the time because it has the troubling time and also the profiting time, so if really you believe on the potential of the coin you invested there is no need to panic even if the price has gone very low, however I wouldn't advise you to sell your investment because you will seriously be at lost since you bought at $3000 and now it has dropped to $2500, so I would suggest you have more patient because the entire Market is currently on fire, so is not only ethereum that's affected but also to many other coins including Bitcoin, however what I would only advise you is that before investing on a coin you should really know if there is any potential about the coin so that you will not get panic because if you had understand ethereum you wouldn't have panic because I no eventually it will come back to the price you bought it, though for me I focus majorly on Bitcoin investment.

Yeah, since the OP bought ethereum at $3k he shouldn't be disappointed, so I also think he should be patient and hold. Today the price of ethereum was around $2700 and only $300 increase would have allowed the OP to recover the loss.

Currently, the price of Ethereum is very low, so if you buy and hold Ethereum, it will be possible to make a good profit. However, try to invest what you can afford to lose so that you don't get disappointed if the price drops and you can hold patiently. The OP, wanted to make the wrong decision, he would have faced a loss if he had sold the Ethereum. OP I would advise you to try to invest what you can afford to lose, otherwise face losses.

I hold some ethereum, but currently the price of ethereum coin has dropped a lot, I bought ethereum at $3000, now it's down to $2500. Is the price of Ethereum likely to increase?
i have also holding eth but i will not sell it right now because i invested eth at 2900$ now current price is very low 2600$,
but i am waiting market is again pumping, you should wait eth must be recover in short time i hope,
so i don't need to go for panic sell, hold until recover it because it's a top crypto so don't be frustrated.

I do agree that it is going to end up with some good profitable result eventually, that's why it is going to be quite good to keep holding at this point, we are going to make as much profit as we could hope for if we just keep on holding it.

I believe that we are going to end up with some good returns, and in the end we are going to see this growing to be something much bigger and the only thing that is required of us to make a profit is literally doing nothing. If you sell then you are doing something, if you are holding, then you are not actively doing anything while holding anyway, holding means doing nothing and it's been talked before like this as well. So all in all, if we could just do nothing, it will be great for us.

Do not panic sell. It seems like you are new to crypto investing. ETH is one of the best (or should I say 2nd best coin after BTC) in the crypto market. Although ETH is currently down and trading under $3k, trust me, when the crypto market bull run starts, there are high chances that the ETH price might go beyond $10k. So, whatever the amount you have, hold it for at least one year and you will not regret your decision.

Your advice is worth considering as it is never good to sell precious asset like Ethereum in panic, it is indeed worth holding for long term. Some of the prominent market analysts are suggesting that itys price could reach $5000 once the market condition improve the impact of its ETF is fully realized, hopefully in the last quarter of 2024. Historical patterns suggest that cryptocurrencies market perform well during the last quarter. DYOR

Calm down friends, the price of ETH will definitely rise when BTC rises. ETH will also rise because that will happen, although slowly it will definitely return to 3000$. We even hope it will touch 5000$ later during the next bull run, be patient friends and believe it will definitely rise
