Title: Do you have a team or player on which you keep losing bets no matter what?
Post by: stompix on August 27, 2024, 12:05:32 PM
I was checking today's races, and saw again it's racing day at Lingfield, again class 5 and 6 so your average horse that can run either way from making their life best to the total flops, and just seeing that those races are on todaymakes my morale sank to the lowest.
Lingfield is my money pit, I've tried every single possible strategy, going by trainer, by jockey by stable, favorites under 6/4, everything that has worked with other racecourses fails me here no matter what, I arrived at a point where if there is a race there for the day because of superstition I won't bet on any other racecourse either.

So, has anyone been experiencing something similar, like never betting on a tennis player, never betting if his team is playing against San Antonio Spurs or Villarreal, or avoiding completely a league like the Belgian Pro League because overall you always lose on those matches?

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

Am not supposed to blame any team for my loss because i made the choice myself to include them as one of my selected picks. But if i am to relate with the point you are driving to then it has to be in sports betting. There are teams that I most times pick even if they have been the reason why i lost in bets on several occasions i don't know why i still choose them. The cause of this is that they have been underperforming for quite some time and are part of the big teams everyone expects the best. Some football fans can relate with me i don't want to call the name of the team so i won't be biased.

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

Chelsea has been a curse to me and I think my friends too in school.

No matter how we place the bet we will surely get disappointed for real. There has been times where I placed for Chelsea to lose because they have been losing all the times I wished they will win but they keep losing just the day I decided to put Chelsea on the losing side that day they won, I don't know what is it with me when it comes to Chelsea on gambling am always losing, i usually use to feel I'm the only one who experiences this until i broke it out with my friends in school and they too shared their experience on the same team/club although others had theirs on other teams but a few of us was just chelsea.

NB: this not an arguement on favourite clubs, so Chelsea fans skip the thought.

This happens to me in trading. There are some altcoins that I trade and always lose while trading with it. But in betting, it has not happened to me before. But what I noticed is that if I am gambling on weekends, I lose more but if I gamble during weekdays, I win more. Also most of the time I lose in trading during weekends. I do not know what is connected with my weekend losses.

So, has anyone been experiencing something similar, like never betting on a tennis player, ...

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

I hear you stompix - I have had it with the Tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas over a few years.
Betting on him in matches that he shouls be winning but ends up losing. I have lost on alternative
bets too with him, on over or under bets.

I forgot a few weeks back that I had been avoiding betting on him for the previous months
and made a bet . . . which lost.

In my case with Stephanos, he was destined to be at the very top of the game according to
Tennis pundits when he first entered the professional status but it just hasnt materialised,
he has fallen outside the top10 and has recently parted ways with his dad coach.

Anyway I'm sure plenty of people have their money pit / pit fall player or team.

Is it the same if we keep losing to the same slot machine?

I know as personally I am losing in a consistent matter in the Rabbit Garden slot machine from Pragmatic Play. No one forces me as this is what people tell me but these very same people do not know that once the passion and desire to win hits you hard you don't care what people say, you just go for it. I don't mind losing a lot as I know my time will come and when the time comes the max win will be there for me flattering my decision to keep playing this game. It should be the same to the people who have a certain player or team, and keep losing to them simply because they love that player or team, as simple as that.

I'm having this “curse” with the team I support, which is Corinthians
Every time I bet on victory, the team loses
When I decide not to bet, they win

And the team is in the last positions of the Brazilian championship, it's incredible how difficult (almost impossible) it is for me to make a profit

Believe it or not, even when I decided to bet against my own team, the game ended in a draw  :P

I'm literally laughing my ass out here because this seems like the perfect thread to rant about a team or player that has cost us so much heartbreak and losses despite our belief in them. What I'll say to y'all is to change your strategy, bet on some other team, player or whatever and "watch your fortune turn around ".

Hey stompix, can you do a followup thread in the coming weeks to update us on if your change of team worked. I'll also like to know if the other users had a good outcome after the change.

Milwaukee Bucks for me. Most of my bets on this team has high losing rate since Giannis sometimes has monster game and poor game on another game. I always dodge to bet on their match that he explodes and always keep betting on their losing games.

I remember they have a series that has W-L-W-L that I keep missing the W and keep losing just because I lost hope to them when they lose and hype again when they won. I rarely bet on sports but I’m sucks during the rare occasions when I place bet.

Lakes is my other worst team to bet. Same with Bucks, they are not consistent anymore.

I'm not planning on betting but let's test it, so this would be what I would go for although since it's not real betting I probably took more risks than normal:

Quote
19:05  Scylla  - 2 places
19:38  Hock Eye The Noo - win
20:08  Snooker Mccrew - 3 places
20:38 - no bet
21:08 Big Bard - win
21:38 So Sleepy  - win

I'll update it tomorrow with the results.

Glad this thread confirms I'm not the only one having bad luck with some constant picks.

I have stopped betting on Manchester United in almost all thier games because I don't seems to understand why you will play them to win againt a very weak team and they end up being the team that cuts your slip. It's not a decision I make totally for a long time but because I follow up on how most leagues are going and understand who is in Thier best of form, I just avoid any team that's not consistent with the kind of results they get when they are playing against a weaker opposition and even a fellow rival. If at some point they bounce back to doing well, I can just include them in the list of my selected games.

It's improper to keep on trying a thing out that's not working and you don't change your strategy and see how things goes. As a gambler, though you're playing for fun but as long as money is involved, teams and events that becomes to deficit to predict should be avoided to minimize lost.

What I does is that I completely avoid some team that doesn't score to my expectation like if making selections and I noticed that particular has matched to play I wouldn't include them in my selection to avoid further lose, although it could be that they are my favorite team but I don't mind during gamble because when lose there is not way were that team would reward you for being loyal fans so, while gamble I don't mind betting against my team for that very moments.

I believe that gambling depends entirely on luck so I never blame any player or any team or any casino site for my gambling losses. When two teams play live on the field neither team can be guaranteed a win. So how can you get a win guarantee for your bets? If you want to invest in gambling, you must accept the risk. But one thing is that you should always make a budget and set an amount in that budget that you can afford to lose. And you should always be a responsible gambler. that's why you can never blame anyone for your loss

Last season Chelsea and Manchester United were a curse... when I bet on them they lost, but when I didn't bet on them they won, how can I not consider this a curse or bad luck?.... :(

But I think the current season is different or will have the same fate, I can't avoid betting on Chelsea and Manchester United because the odds are always tempting, but Chelsea seems better now after seeing yesterday's game so there will be no curse anymore unless playing with other big teams that need to be doubted.

For Manchester United, I have to think twice to bet on this team.

In the English Premier League, I stopped betting on Arsenal because of inconsistency. The Gunners will have a good run, and suddenly, they will make you lose a bet when you don't expect it. They have the habit of losing the league after topping the table for a long time.

Each time I placed a bet on Israel Adesanya, it turned out disappointing. But he won the fight against Alex Pereira when I didn't place a bet. He became my cursed Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter after he recently lost to Dricus Du Plessis.

That's a fact though. Every gambler has a team they don't like especially because the usually lose bets on them. Sports betting is almost fully based on luck and like some persons would say, luck may not shine on you all the time. People have their different ways of predicting the outcome of sporting events and sometimes this doesn't just cut out right for some teams. So teams are more like unpredictable and the moment you speculate they'll lost a game, boom the hit a win .

However I don't fancy the idea of betting on a lost cause. Some persons place bets on teams they know deep within them would not give them a win hoping they would win the bet just because it's their team. I am of the opinion of staying clear instead of placing a bet against your personal team of support if you do not wish to.

Mine only experienced this thrice after that they won the game - there was a time when I bet on this team for straight win and in two of the games they drew with the other team and the last one they lost. That’s the most time I’ve actually bet on a team consecutive that they lost usually when I experienced a lost more than once I usually just stop betting on that team till I noticed a difference but I had to for the one that game me thrice since I was a fan of the team.

Although, I have had mixed results like if I bet this time I’ll win the bet and if I go again I’ll lose it and the next time I bet I’ll win it (I might win for up to two times before losing again) that’s just how mine has been.

Arsenal has been winning a lot of games, and unless you are accumulating a lot of odds, Arsenal's odds to win are usually very low. Arsenal and teams like Manchester City that win many games are usually avoided by some sports bettors because their odds are low compared to some other teams with more uncertainty.

On side bets, Nicholas Jackson was a player I lost a lot betting on with my friends last season to score for Chelsea in most of their games. I saw the chances created by Chelsea, and I expected Nicholas Jackson to score in almost every game. That boy disappointed me.

He disappointed me so much that I still don't trust him this season.

I can’t say that I do. I’m not a very loyal bettor though. I just take a look at the odds and weigh the risks and rewards, then make the best decision I can. I do hope that Trump wins the next election though or I’m going to lose a ton of parlays that I’ve been stacking for a while. Not sure if that counts, but go Trump!

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?
For me, Lyon France's football club is one team I'm recently always scared of ever adding to my betting prediction, because ever since the day I was supposed win a bet of over $1500 with a multiple bet which I played on a local casino last year between "Crystal Palace vs Lyon" to score at least one goal each (i.e G.G), and they went about play 2:0, making me lose the entire slip of 10 games after 9 matches played as predicted and it was left for Lyon to score at least one goal and they failed. So ever since then, I have never been happy with "Lyon" football club, and I always try to avoid it while booking games for the past 1yr now. So in conclusion, if there is any club I can boldly say has cost me a lot is Lyon. Because the reason why I got so upset was the fact that it was a 10 games multiple bet, 9 had played, and Crystal Palace had scored and it was only left for Lyon to score to make it G.G, but they didn't, making me lose my bet. So however, this is one experience I can never forget about gambling.

I have this thought that if ever I keep on losing to the team that I have bet for thrice or more then I'd stop. But if that team can make me win and break that record, I'd still keep on going with them.

I guess that we've got this way of understanding these superstitious beliefs and we think that the right thing to do is to do some actions based on what we think should be done.

It's all a matter of what we're up to with these bets and to any games that we bet on, sometimes it's really applied regardless even if people think that we're crazy and odd.

It is rather an anecdote from my part, but our national football/soccer team used to be as bad as one can only imagine and it was considered from my part a cursed thing to bet in favor of them in general. Things have changed a bit lately, we have getting better performance and better players, thanks to better training, but there was a time nobody held any hope on our team reaching any significant level in high leagues.
And since I did not like to bet against my own national team, I was reluctant to bet on matches in which they were involved directly.

It is not so ething as hard and explicit as other cases of "gambling/betting curses", but it definitely affected how I have viewed football betting and the way my cousin used to bet during those matches.

Luckily no. only, if it was a sports bet, then I would not only support 1 club, or I would never support any club, no. I would much rather choose a club that has the potential to win, based on H2H, previous competition analysis, or predictions from various odds.

So, after reading this, I'm curious, is such a curse really true? Or have I experienced it so far but am not aware of it? Haha
I don't think so, if I lose, then I really am bad luck or my analysis is bad.

Certainly my favorite team, of which I am a devoted and fanatical supporter.

Even when they are not doing very well in the national championship, I bet on them, knowing that the odds are low.

Besides, I have no other reason to bet against the odds, I believe that chasing losses or betting on something unlikely is a losing strategy. It is better to bet on another sport, still uncertain, to learn how it works, than to continue betting on something you know and that you know will not give you any more profits.

It is possible to eventually make a lot of money betting on the unlikely, but... how much money will you lose until that lucky moment arrives? I believe that this type of bet does not pay off in the long run.

21:38 So Sleepy  - win >Lost

It's even worse because even if I had taken two places instead of win I would have lost and even spreading from 2 places to 3 in the other bets I would have still lost, again a race where one favorite won out of 6 and even if you would have placed placing bets on them you would still have been $3 lost for $6 bet.
Neah, no way I would ever break even with this racecourse.

What I does is that I completely avoid some team that doesn't score to my expectation like if making selections and I noticed that particular has matched to play I wouldn't include them in my selection to avoid further lose,

But that's the whole thing, in order for them to get on your blacklist you must have already had a bad experience with them, so they are your black sheep, they must disappoint first in order to make you avoid them.

I wouldn't say that I have a cursed team, but I vividly remember this one in NBA, Chris Paul breaks infamous losing streak vs. referee Scott Foster as Suns top Clippers in Game 2. (https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/chris-paul-breaks-infamous-losing-streak-vs-referee-scott-foster-as-suns-top-clippers-in-game-2/)

So for sure NBA fans are going to remember this losing streak or the feud between CP3 and Scott Foster, and it become too personal. So if there are games that CP3 are going to play and Foster is the referee, even if Paul's team is the favorite, you should avoid betting on them at all cost,  ;D.

Mine was Conor Macgregor, i had fade on that fighter because i followed all his career, and he lost all his past fights, and that's really sad because he used to be a man with the power to knock down any opponent in the first minute, and see him lose again and again and again feels terrible, it makes me think his motivation is gone, maybe he already made enough money to focus on winning or i don't know what's his problem, but on the next fight i will bet against him to try to recover what he makes me lose.

I don't gamble with emotions because gambling is strictly business for me and I have most of my fun when I win. I might be supporting a team but that does not stop me from playing against them if they meet my condition for selection. This is why I cannot continue to playing a bet that will fail simply because I support the team or player, I won't do that and I can't do it. I know a few friends that bet in favour of their team every time they have match. I also know sole gamblers that bet in favour if certain individual simply because they are their fans or from the same country. I don't consider this a good way to go about gamble.

this season has not been seen whether luck will be lost when I bet on United and Munich matches. last season I was always unlucky when betting on United and Munich. or when both teams played. whether betting on both winning or losing, I was always unlucky.
it seems that the beginning of this season is quite good. I bet on Munich and United and I didn't lose the bet. however, when I want to bet on both teams, there is a doubt that bothers my mind.

I think that we all know cases of people who are real fans of local sports teams and will bet for them no matter the chances of winning (and consistently lose time after time).

In my case I currently know several people who bet for Athletic of Bilbao, which is considered almost a religion for many (San Mames stadium is called "The Cathedral" for some reason). I have also known people who bet hundreds of dollars for Real Madrid, with better odds in comparison :D

I had one back in the last season of the NBA and I thought they could really win games because my perspective on them was they are a strong team.

I was mistaken, most of my bets were losses and I had a hard time recovering them all using other teams to win games. Next year, I mean in 2 months, maybe they will be a better team and I may bet for them again.
It's not like they didn't let me win some, they also had their good times and they won some of their match. I think the only trouble there was me being hard-headed to believe that they can win most of their games.

For teams or players that always make me unlucky in betting, if analyzed for me personally there may not be any, because I bet based on the team's assessment and strength of previous matches, You could say that based on ranking or score provisions, you could say that I don't have a team or player that can be used as a curse for gambling.

If you lose or win in a game, maybe that's normal, but it's not always to lose, you could say 2 loses 3 wins, I don't think that's a curse for my bets, that's my basis for considering teams or players for my bets, you can said the AS Roma teamincluding my favorite team.

I no longer bet on Manchester united anymore because of the bad lucks that they have brought to me making me to lose my bet. Last season taught me a lesson not to be so confident on a team because of the love you have for them.

This season I will not put any bet on United because they have started it again. Their last match was a lost to me because I thought thay they have improved with the recent development in the club but they still cut my slip last weekend.

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

I won't want to mention the name of a team, I don't know if it's someones favorite. But then I don have a team which I can never bet on no matter how good they later become in the future. They have ruined so many of my games in the past and cut all my hopes short. It's a normal thing to avoid such a team because our goal for placing a bet is to make profits from our wins. Any team that might end up ruining our goals should be avoided. I just bet on my favorite team  most times and those I know have a better chance or good players to avoid losing my bets.

I don't have any curse team or what, but from what I have been observing lately, let's say I want to bet on a certain team and then when I bet on them they are going to lose. On the contrary, if I say that I'm going to bet on the next game with another team, but didn't pull the trigger, that team is going to win.

So I guess that is just a case of bad luck in my end. And when I hesitate, I usually take the L and then said to myself that I won't do that again. But when the time comes and I go and bet right away, it usually lose to me even though I bet on the favorite. I guess that is the very definition or risk and the unknown.

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?
I have several teams that I favor in every league that I follow. but I will not immediately bet on the victory of my favorite team. because of seeing the condition of the opponent or the readiness of the team itself.
I do not feel that there is a curse like that in my gambling. because I know that I don't always have to be very obsessed with the team I support and my bets. although I am sometimes very annoyed when betting on a team that is very certain to win and the results are not as expected.
I also do not expect to get a curse like that. hopefully not.

Just having my thoughts on this, honestly speaking it's fustrating seeing your best team loosing the match whereas you have put so much faith in then winning the match and alongside you have betted for their win but they end up loosing. What a mess.
I think this things happen on daily basis most especially when they are to be your best team.

Few days back a friend visited me with an angry face and was complaining as well, and I was like what's the issue he started spilling out what's wrong, before then I saw from his countenance and said you lose your bets? And he replied not really but can you imagine what Manchester is playing and I was like sometimes are like that.
But it didn't end there, tho he said he played for them to lose in the bets but watching them lose the match entirely it's what got him so annoyed.

The "cursed" team in gambling, hmmmm
Actually this happened last season or before, at which time I often made parlay or multibet bets for several teams. Usually almost every week I make bets and include one big team in the Premier League, namely Manchester United. And do you know what happened? yes I always lose when I include them in the list of teams to bet on. On the other hand, if I avoid them, they can actually win. Lol
That was one of the experiences that I myself felt was strange, was this a coincidence or did they not want to be bet on, so they didn't let me win. One more thing, I was also surprised when I bet on my support team always lost, so I also avoided them so they could win.  :D

I will use Club B as example. Club B is a good club with good players and for sometime they haven't be stable with their performance, since Club B is like this I don't think I'll always pick them to win in a bet because I'm not sure of what will be the outcome of their game. I know sport can never be predicted but it is good whenever we are playing a bet to look back at the performance of the team, how has the team be consistent in winning. Their is no point in betting on a game that is not consistent. Performance of a team should be the a reason for selecting the team to win in a bet, I know this is not guarantee to win but I know good examining important in betting games.

My is quite different from your friends case, he might just be losing for a few times that's why I added the team to his slip again but for my case it's totally different to the extent I have to put that team away from my perspective of winning because I already started seeing them as a curse or a bad luck for me because they are literally the only problem I face whenever I include them in my betting.

Since I already know that it will always end in a bad situation I just have to blacklist them for the main time till I get a renewal of mind on that team, but I absolutely love the team without this experience it doesn't mean they are bad because sometimes they do win too.

Losing more than 2 times to a player or team is already a turn off for me to bet on them again. I don't bet based on my favourite player or team to win but I bet based on who has the better odds to win and when it doesn't favor me. I won't read too many meanings into the result but  when it happens again then I begin to question if the player or team have a supernatural force making me to lose when I pick that player or team to win. I don't get it when some people continue to bet in favour of their favourite team or player when it is clear that they can't be the victorious ones in that match just because they're fans. Why will you intentionally lose money because you're a fan, it doesn't make any sense to me as a gambler. Any team or player not favouring me will be dropped as I noticed them because I can't be losing money constantly. I haven't lost because of choosing a player or team out of ignorance.

The super eagles of Nigeria is the team I fear to bet on because even with the good players that we have in our team who play in the top leagues, the team always makes me loose whenever I bet on them. The super eagles of Nigeria can be playing against a very poorly ranked African team and still end up losing the game, that is how inconsistent our performance have been due to always changing coaches. As a team they have always been a bad option for me to bet on.

I am intentional person so I try as much as possible to weigh my decisions in gambling. I don't go for what does not provide result and still remain hesitant in it. I always choose my decisions as carefully as I can to remain in the winning side, although gambling is a game of luck and you can only win when your club wins. However, I weigh my options very carefully. I have a favorite club of course but in an event that I'm aware the club will lose, I'm ready to bet against them.

That is a bad betting pattern since if you are gambling, you are doing it with the sole aim of winning and going against the club or team that have the highest form of defense and tactical formulation to win because your favorite club is up against them is somewhat not a good way to bet and that could lead you to severe loses, also muchore than that one shouldn't rely on luck to win bets when you know that your favorite team is not up to winning the team they are up against in the match.

Gambling is gambling and there shouldn't be any feelings attached to it because if one allow such an emotional imbalance it will not go well at the end since it will reduce your potential of winning, betting should be done in such a way that you only select and bet on team that have the stronger possibility of winning, only so you will be able to win the bet, much more, many of those that have made such a mistake of betting along clubs favoritism line have most often lose their bets and that is not a good thing for gambling experience.

When I stake a bet on a club that have disappointed me before which lead to me loosing my money, I may never repeat the same mistake again and I will smartly learn from my lesson because after each games loses I always make deeper research about the club to know how often such a club have lost in their previous matches checking statisitics.

Well, sometimes it can actually happen like that and you might just even develop some sort of hatred for the team because they are not able to get you a winning almost all the 80-90% time you stake on the team. I have not experienced it though but if I actually give a twice confidence to the victory of a team and they are not able to perform as I predicted, I would stake against them next time or I can make a two ways bet (dual tick). Winning bets is not usually certain and therefore I don't give such a high confidence to a team, even if I do, I still remind myself that anything can happen.

So far I have never ignored particular team because of superstition or certain beliefs that make me always lose, in my opinion everything will be the same and winning in betting will definitely depend on how we predict by analyzing the results correctly.
All matches and all competitions can be utilized well if we can really understand every situation and condition of how match goes, besides that in making betting predictions will also be greatly influenced by our experience and ability in knowledge.
Blaming particular team or particular competition will not change anything, this will only worsen our perspective on particular team or competition that actually never had anything to do with the failures we experienced.

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?

Most of the time I bet on Indian Premier League cricket matches. As far as I remember, I bet on multiple easy games on team Mumbai Indians, but after the innings break, each time the team has choked. On paper, the team looks great, but they didn’t manage to win any games. I made huge losses by betting for them. The reason for their losses was later found out to be internal team disputes. Nevertheless, that team turned out to be really unlucky for me. I have now made a promise to not bet for them again.

Try not to let your emotions influence your gambling decisions too much. If you consider a team as "your team," it often means you'll back them regardless of the odds or spread, which isn't wise because spreads can be misleading. If you don't analyze them carefully, you can easily lose. That's why, in my case, I don't just bet on the moneyline. Instead, I choose the point spread, and sometimes I go with the points. No matter how bad the team you're backing is, there's always a chance they'll cover the spread, which can translate into a win for you.

In the English Premier League, I stopped betting on Arsenal because of inconsistency. The Gunners will have a good run, and suddenly, they will make you lose a bet when you don't expect it. They have the habit of losing the league after topping the table for a long time.

For me if there is any club in the premier League that we need to think twice before betting on I think Manchester United and Chelsea should be the ones because they can easily prevent a gambler from wining, however there performance is mostly seasonal and highly unpredictable, actually Arsenal is a very nice club to bet on but I don't really no why you said so because if I'm to choose between those clubs I listed I think Arsenal is most reliable than Manchester United and Chelsea because since I have been using them they have not really given me any reasons why I should doubt them but though the only thing about Arsenal is that even if they are always winning but the moment the season is approaching to the end you should reduce the rate at which you normally use them because for some seasons now they have always shown to be reluctant.

Which one is your cursed team when it comes to gambling?
Every season and every league there is always a team that is like a curse for me, but it always changes. For example, last season in the EPL every time I bet on Newcastle matches, I always lost even though I had chosen different options. While in the previous season Newcastle was always able to provide benefits to my bets. So every season it is always uncertain which team is like a curse for me and it depends on how the team performs. After getting an experience like that, now when choosing to bet on a team that always loses, I will continue to avoid betting on that team.

Try not to let your emotions influence your gambling decisions too much.

You missed the part about trying every strategy possible that works on any other racecourses to keep the loss at a minimum failing over and over again here with absolutely no pattern whatsoever, there are 6 stables I track that all have deviations on this racecourse, zero emotions involved, only timeform and it fails here to levels never encounters anywhere else.
6th grade is notorious for exaggerated results but under 20% of wins for favorites under 6/4 is not normal.

No matter how bad the team you're backing is, there's always a chance they'll cover the spread, which can translate into a win for you.

Hardly a strategy, if your team is that bad the spread will just increase so +2 will turn into +10 with the same odds , nobody will give you odds on for +6, look at the Liga odds:

I was checking today's races, and saw again it's racing day at Lingfield, again class 5 and 6 so your average horse that can run either way from making their life best to the total flops, and just seeing that those races are on todaymakes my morale sank to the lowest.
Lingfield is my money pit, I've tried every single possible strategy, going by trainer, by jockey by stable, favorites under 6/4, everything that has worked with other racecourses fails me here no matter what, I arrived at a point where if there is a race there for the day because of superstition I won't bet on any other racecourse either.

It appears that Lingfield has now become your very own "money pit" to you, whereby no option seems to work, frustrating you and "cursing". Generally, gamblers have specific groups, locations, or privileges wherein they lose all the time, therefore leading them to superstition or avoidance. If a particular racetrack or team produces multiple losses, it may be worth taking a break from betting on these events or rethinking your strategy altogether. Knowing all these possibilities helps to manage your expectations and develop your strategy of betting.

My rule number 1 in sports betting is never to bet based on sentiment. Following this rule strictly must have saved me from what you or other gamblers experienced, it's all about making money so let's stick to it professionally. I've bet against the team I support countless times, I can't imagine myself betting in favour of a certain team when I know fully well that they are at a disadvantage to win, this is suicidal. And I can't imagine believing that I have to avoid a team or always bet when a certain team wants to play. What I do is open my sports betting account to see the fixtures and what they offer me. I go for the right odds and do my extensive analysis to know the right options to choose irrespective of the clubs they are. But I ensure to stay with the top league as much as possible.

Haha you might think Manchester United is like a clown because this team is always difficult to predict they often lose to the underdog team, I had some bad luck because Manchester United lost to eliminate the entire parlay bet.

It's hard to bet on a big team but the fact is they are not stable, it's risky for you to bet again until this team is really consistent again, so far the team is still experiencing injured players and some of Erik Ten Hag's strategies are still far from our expectations so it is still possible for Manchester United to lose again to a small team.

I don't usually bet on tennis player, infact i gamble more on football, basketball and handball because are the games i understand the most and not tennis, the few times i have had tennis game are when someone did booked it for me and i then placed a bet based on the persons selections again, amongst all of these sports i do bet on, i do have teams i do avoid because whenever i pick them to win they loose and whenever i pick them to loose they win, that has made me stopped making picks that will involve them on my games same applies to players in these games especially in basket ball where i can be bale to really pick out players and place  a bet on them.

I thought that this week that I have this team that I am in cursed. I've bet on them earlier and luckily, they've given me my first win for this week. That's tough to be honest and I thought that I'll not win with a bet on them but I just bet on them even if the odds were only 1.15. I am happy now that they're able to give me a win. Looking forward to break the other bets that I have for some teams that I could remember.

I still have a lot of tensions placing a bet on Manchester United or Chelsea, they cost me some losses previous time which I no longer want to add them to my slip. I won't say cursed but their outcome are hardly predictable since they are still on the struggle to raise their performance. However, I still prefer not to be biased when selecting my options, i better would avoid picking those club instead of selecting them and for them to later on hinder my winning ticket.

From the result your got we can see that no team is cursed, just a matter of time you give them to adjust to their best, till then you may want to avoid them and try again another time with a better chance of winning.

It's just me and I am happy that I was able to break that so called "curse" on my bets for betting the same team that I am believing for. This is part of sportsbetting. We get to have some bad days and I am happy that I was able to break that by having by first w for this week.
And as for you, you can really say that they're unpredictable for they really are and that's why some bad days can be said as a cursed one but it's just all about having no luck and fate isn't with us.

Honestly there probably is but I don't pay no mind to runs like that.  For me it's more people props.  It's not so much the person but the bet.  In baseball total bases gets me everytime.  I pick the over it hits the under amd vice versa.  I stopped betting it because I feel like I lose every time I take that prop.  Baseball in general is tough to bet.

Exactly. If you’ve seen that team or player is already giving you a lot of stress due to consistent losses, then go for a change of team or player. Then let’s see if you still experience the same negative feeling.

Most of the time, we tend to put the blame on a certain team or player because they fail our expectations. But gambling is still gambling. They can never control the outcome as much as we can’t guarantee winning on our bets. So don’t put the blame to them, neither to yourself.

After I started betting more regketly I dediced I had to quit that habbit of vetting on my favorite teams. I will try to give my favorite team a chance and if they have a strong team this season maybe I will try to favor them a little bit. But if my team is having difficulty winning a match or showing any reliable results in the field I will avoid them when it comes to betting. I will try to improve my chances and won't care even if I bet on a rival team or against my team sometimes.

So really I won't mind that much so long as I have decent chances to win a bet. But if my favorite team shows bad performance and can't bring out their good side... Why vet in favor of them? I might even bet against them. It's about making good predictions in the end.

Other than the sentiment of getting recked again I've never bet on feelings on that track.
I tried with last year's jockeys, I tried with last year's trainers, tried combinations on betting only on CD winners, and tried going against favorites, seems like every single thing not only doesn't work but it's like the losses and wins are repeating in such a pattern you will never manage to at least come close to break even, forget profit, I am probably somewhere at 60% in red compared to total gambled!

Exactly. If you’ve seen that team or player is already giving you a lot of stress due to consistent losses, then go for a change of team or player. Then let’s see if you still experience the same negative feeling.

I've already said I stopped betting on it, so the change happened a long time ago, this is about finding out what kind of black sheep other gamblers have!

LOL, but yeah for sure you remember me in the Tennis thread that I used to support Stephanos Tsitsipas probably as early as 2019. And every time he had a match, I will go and bet on him. And even if he had like losing continuously, I will put a line on him.

Unfortunately, I had to draw the line at some point and that's why I totally lost my "love" to tennis.

And it's the reason why I suddenly stop betting on tennis all together and was not able to follow on our thread,  :-[. By that, it might have affective me mentally though, but for sure I will come back on our thread specially seeing Djokovic winning the Olympic gold medal against Alcaraz.

Currently no and I would like to complain, I have always been a supporter of my country's selection, ever since I could remember, and it's not Something that makes me ashamed or embarrassed to say it, I think that I feel my team in my heart as the greatest emotion that can be felt as a fan, I always wanted to play for my national team, but due to the circumstances of life it wasn't possible, because my family was afraid that since I was a Child I would get injured, however now this team has me excited and motivated. I think that's what we should always see, that we should never be disillusioned with our own , that things can be achieved, in this case in football with the idea of seeing my country qualify.

         -       What you say is true, and it is also not right to blame the teams if we lose a game because of a mistake or a mistake made by a group. Let's just remember that we gamble because it is our choice to do so.

And no matter what our reason is, only two things can always drive us, and this is one of the things we win. Let's just have fun; no big deal, even if we lose gambling.

Basically there is no team or player that really always makes a loss in the bets I make, because although I also realize losing more often but sometimes I also get a win from the team or player that is bet on. After all, for me betting at sportsbooks has many choices, and I can't just focus on just one team or one player, because every moment certainly has a chance for us to succeed in getting a win for the choices and or bets we make.

You'll easily lose if you keep doing that, and you'll limit the fun in sports betting since your team doesn't play all the time. Focus on the league, not a specific team. That's the advice of the experts because if you focus on the league, you'll get to know the teams and can study every match they present to bettors. Betting on your team no matter what is not a strategy that will keep you profitable, as it only means you're using your emotions in your judgment instead of your mind. Where's the analysis in using your emotions?

Favourite teams won't be called as that if we don't like them a lot but things change as they say, so as the teams in sports. There might be a reason for the change of their performances on why they can not perform well anymore. If that is the case then you are right that you should quit on supporting them. I know it's hard to say this but they are not the people's favourite anymore. It is now time for us to find our new favourites.

There are still lots of fishes in the sea you know. Another habit that we must quit is the three words that I said earlier, that is if we only want to improve our personal betting performances. It should start from us before the other or the teams/players that we are rooting for by the time we step in the betting arena because even though they can win but once we are greedy, we can bet recklessly and we can be unlucky this time which also results for us to regret.

To be honest, I dont gamble often and don't have any team to regard as a cursed team for me, my winnings and loses from betting over the time have always been random, random in the sense that I might bet on Arsenal(for example) today and lose, and tomorrow if is playing another match, maybe against the previous team or another team altogether, I will bet on Arsenal again and win.

So, my betting wins and loses have always been very random like I stated above, even though there are some weeks I usually go on very long losing streak, still, when ever the losing streak ends, I still see winnings on previous teams I had lost on previously.

The level of loses incured by Man utd team in their last game was alarming... Imagine Harry Maguire stretching out his legs, without any serious intentions or strain, and it only served was a seplay for their competition.... I can count lots and lots of winning opportunities that a team's performances have dimmed.

No matter what happens, I don't think it's wise to blame the whole team for not performing well... The coach could sometimes be a problem as he may not understand too well, how to pair up those players in their original position.

Edit;
After all, for me betting at sportsbooks has many choices, and I can't just focus on just one team or one player, because every moment certainly has a chance for us to succeed in getting a win for the choices and or bets we make.

The man never said he wagered on his team alone... I had to quote the whole post for reference... Looks like y'all don't even read, type an endless typinggggggg!

Same for me on which on the time that i would really be making bets then there's no such thing for me to have that kind of loyalty when it comes to the teams on which i would really be trying out to choose.
It would really be all according into my own analysis on which one would really be that likely to win. I dont stick up on a certain team despite of being that liking them in some sort but doesnt mean that i would be that loyal on betting on them or will really be trying out to stick into it specially on the time or moment that there are tons of certain situations on which i do lose up bet because of that being too optimistic.
I have learnt with those things in the past and now i could say that it will really be always better that you could be able to stick on to those bets on which analysis had been applied.

I probably not noticed this but I never bet on any of the match that my favourite club playing against their biggest rivalry, not sure it's because of the high unpredictability or I'm too involved with the game itself so not having much thought about take a bet on it but that's my thing regarding. Maybe next time I'll try to find whether I'm cursed or not when they go against each other.
In some cases, it's not just about being active; it's about not being focused on making the right choice because your favourite team is involved in the game.

The best thing to always do if someone really wants to make a bet is to choose a totally different team instead of either playing against your team and feeling betrayed or betting in their favour and losing the game at last.

This also happened to me, so far I have never considered player or team to be curse for myself when betting on them, after all there are many betting options and success depends on how we look for opportunities and determine the right betting options.
On the other hand, even favorite team or players have certainly lost and the chances for them to fail are always there so we must make conditions like this lesson that betting on sports must really analyze and study everything well.
Considering particular player or team to be cursed is kind of belief and superstition because there are many factors that can affect the results of each match in progress.

I continue to be impartial in gambling. It does not matter to me who to root for and I will never bet on a team just because I like them or because it is a team from the region where I live. Because you need to play not the result, and only Profit can please. And if you bet on your favorite team and they lose, then this will never please you, no matter how much you love this team.
