In many cases, this involves convincing victims to invest in virtual currency, or in some cases, over-the-counter foreign exchange schemes, all with the intent of defrauding them of their funds. These scams are largely perpetrated by criminal organizations based in Southeast Asia.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge. As they say, it's just easy money or HYIP. Even though regulations are getting tighter, some still manage to slip through, and most of these scams happen in poor countries.

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.

Forget Crypto, People without knowledge are getting scammed in the old banking system every single day. Credit Card Scams, Loan Scams, and what not.
Crypto requires a little bit knowledge and safety of your coins which in the normal banking system, a bank does it for you.

It's exactly similar as securing your cash in your wallet or at home from thieves. That's what exactly you have to do for Crypto. Just keep it safe from these E-thieves.

There will always be people who fall for these sorts of scams, especially those who are looking for where and more information on how to invest. Many people are not as informed as you think, and these scams may be very well packaged in a sophisticated manner that it still fools someone who thinks that they know about it.

Even in this forum, someone can be scammed through PM's if they are not cautious about it, that is why newbies are always advised to be careful of the private messages they respond to, the forum is not a social media platform, it is a place for open learning, and for whatever concerns that you have, you could always ask openly for the best engagements.

This is different since it’s very common in the crypto space for people without enough knowledge to easily fall for investments that seem too good to be true. Credit card scams and loan scams are another story, but if they also get scammed on those, it’s not shocking they’d get scammed in crypto too.

That’s why the government’s help is really needed to minimize risks by educating people. But that won't happen if the market isn’t fully regulated. In some poor countries, crypto is already regulated, but if people aren’t educated, I’m not sure if their greed is the problem--wanting instant returns --or if crypto is just hard for them to learn.

Scammers always try to find victims for their scam jobs and their methods are similar but in different working spaces, scammers will adjust their methods a bit. There are basic guides, checklists to help newbies avoiding basic scams.

Maybe there are group or exclusive syndicate or kinda of mafia underground with this kind of business circulating along Asian Country. When you mentioned POGO that means youre from Phil. Theres a lot of that in Phil different areas and majority of it are related to some crypto investment fraudulent scam investment too.

Its quite hard for newbies who dont have knowledge with this since the potential reward is probably tempting for them.

Mmm.. that makes sense since this is happening in Asia and in poor countries. They prefer to operate in places where laws aren't strictly enforced, in short, corrupt countries. Sorry to speak badly about my own country, but that’s the reality-corrupt politicians let these kinds of syndicates slip through.

Its quite hard for newbies who dont have knowledge with this since the potential reward is probably tempting for them.

That's why the government needs to strengthen its efforts to educate people about potential investment scams. Without that, this will keep happening over and over because there are many syndicates out there, and they can change their business names anytime they want.

:D :D If you will allow me, there are serious problems in progress with Bitcoin regarding fraud, but everything is also going hand in hand with global politics. I see Bitcoin as an escape from political corruption. These are all scenarios. Asian scenarios, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, etc. I can give my example in Latin American-Portuguese-Iberian politics. There are really many problems piled up. One of them is a generation of politicians aged 50 to 65 who want everything as it is today. There is an urgent need to expand deeper and longer-lasting structures in Bitcoin and to stop simultaneous fraud processes, initially within favorable democracies. But how can this be stopped with a joint effort?  :-\

Greed for money push them to decide quickly and they didn't bother to think about if what they are trying to do or spend their money with is a scam. This is why lots of people still got victimized even if we know the actions or methods used are recycled attempts. If people would just stick on their god feel then have this thoughts to verify first on what they see seems appealing to them especially when talking about money for sure that they will not participate on any clear scams.

Scams are widely done globally so I expect that there's a running syndicate operating this schemes so we need to be aware and avoid any possible scams since its important for us not to avail those crazy huge returns they offer to their potential victims so we will not fall in their hands.

Scams have always been part of human history, people try to outsmart and cheat others, now it has become more sophisticated because of the internet. Ignorant people will always fall for scams that is why the act can not stop, as they're becoming more greedy to listen to unrealistic promises to get rich quick they'll always become victims. So to avoid being scammed people must try and be more informed about how the modern scammers operates, don't expect free money from anybody and don't click on links that you're not familiar with. DYOR properly before engaging into business with anybody or entity whether it's online or offline.

It happens all the time though, but since crypto has been the latest that criminals have been using, yeah the numbers have been growing in years and there are still individuals that are gullible enough to believe what scammers have been saying and that they are very convince that they will make a lot of money.

But the thing is that in this news, the tycoon has built so much wealth that encompasses crypto.

And who knows, with this bulletin, sooner or later he will get caught and punished by the Cambodian government. Their government is very strict as far as I know so he might not get away with it despite having a lot of money.

Crypto is vulnerable to fraud if you don't have enough knowledge about it. Therefore, it is better to forget crypto and choose Bitcoin if you want to invest.
Crypto can easily be created by those who have expertise in the field. The number of each crypto created can be infinite. Bitcoin is not like that. The amount cannot be reduced or added from the initial amount.

Bitcoin is a multi-functional digital currency in my opinion. It can be used as a transaction tool and can be used as an investment asset to hedge against fiat currencies.

Workers forced into labour for online scam centres focused on cryptocurrency fraud? No way they are forced to work there. There was a big accident of scam call centres in my country. They were calling to European and American people and were trying to get money from them. They were calling and saying that they were an investment company and were promising very high ROI to people. Sadly, many people become victim of these scams, mostly pensioners. It's a very shameful act and people who were in such call centres have no shame. They might pretend they are forced to work to protect themselves but they actually start work here because they get paid a lot. Imagine thousand of dollars in a poor country, that's how they are paid for scamming people.

Still, I think knowledge and experience makes one the more wiser when it comes to cryptocurrency and although Bitcoin is the oldest and safest crypto currency by far reaching till date, there are still other cryptos developed for various reasons and the right knowledge will help one take profit during a pump or dump as long as there's enough cash to take the risk.

One can be a fool for long because of the absence of resources to gain the right expertise and that's one reason why Bitcoin being more publicized and more invested in remains the easiest crypto currency option to invest in with much guidance coming from this forum and from those who understand the investment strategies to apply for long term profit.

Every crypto experts today are once a fool to crypto, if you know less about crypto you are still considered a fool, even if you don't accept this I am sure you will accept later because every experts have made few mistakes before they get to where they are today.

I have not seen any crypto investors and traders that haven't make some mistakes in this crypto space, if you are one who haven't make any mistakes before then you are not in crypto, you are just starting out as a beginner.

We still have a lot of people that are not into crypto investment yet and these people will make a lot of those foolish mistakes, either they try to learn or not because it is near impossible not to make mistakes with crypto.

Those who seek knowledge have less mistakes to make compare to those who believe that they can handle everything. It is left for beginners to pick a side.

Nothing new, Cambodia and Philippines now are popular with human trafficking, but not all of them are bad though. Some of my friends do work in Cambodia and Philippines as gambling employees, now their life changes, they can afford to buy expensive thing, sometime I envy to see their life lol.

Am just wondering, does the police and authority in Philippines is weak? means they don't want to catch the criminals because the criminals bribed the police?

it's not just in the crypto space. A lot of people easily fall for scams and schemes with promises of good returns in the future because they lack basic knowledge of the industry and just assume they can become suddenly smart and benefit from a new and promising investment. The methord that's now more rampant that's used to convince victim to invest in a project is majorly the use of celebrity or public figures to promote certain project and vaulnaurable people will ignorantly buy those coin because of who is projected as the pioneer of the project.

It's no longer easy to trust any new crypto project that's created  at this range of time because most of them lack authenticity and are basically created to just last for few moment after which it dumps and all those that invested In it looses thier money automatically. Apart from Bitcoin, any other crypto you're for any reason interested in investing into should be followed with caution and proper research is to be done prio to the execution of the investment or else, you end up investing and losing all your money.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge.

Forget Crypto, People without knowledge are getting scammed in the old banking system every single day. Credit Card Scams, Loan Scams, and what not.

Hmm, TBH in such cases most of the time information is obfuscated. Still, these days when we go the banks or any other financial institute while availing any service they provide a 5 to 6 pages manual with some information written in this kind of format and honestly 99% people don't read the full manual as who cares. They actually hide information in between that complex text.

As far as cybercrime is concerned such kinds of groups target innocent users in the name of easy money and needy people get trapped and then they trap them into such systems and then use blackmailing to promote and work for them otherwise they threaten their social life.

The fraud was clearly carried out by someone who was very good at talking so that everyone who listened would believe the liar's words. At this time, fraud has often occurred and is also often shown on television, we should often watch the news so that we gain knowledge about all kinds of fraud that often occur, one of which is trading and investing in cryptocurrencies. If someone invites you to trade or invest in one of the cryptocurrencies but you don't know the person, it would be better for you to immediately avoid them. If we invest or trade in cryptocurrencies, it is better for us to explore and learn about the cryptocurrency so that we avoid unofficial cryptocurrencies or cryptocurrencies that have no value in the future.

Poverty is a big disease in the sense that it can easily blind anyone, once you are poor you will be opened to any thing, you will want to get out of your current situation by all means, either through scam or shady business, if it pays then nothing else matters..

For someone who has eaten breakfast today, they won't have the same mindset as someone who hasn't eaten anything today, HYIP can be very much confusing for someone who is suffering, I've been there and i know how it feels, not a pleasant position to be.

Still, all we can keep doing is advising vulnerable people, it is always the poor people that fall for HYIP the most, when an offer is too good to be true then do not patronize it, the poor will have a hard time getting over this, but I am sure that the wise ones will learn from their mistakes.

One can simply not run out of fools in this world. They are everywhere. That’s why we see many Ponzi schemes popping up one after another. People can’t have enough of them. You know a wise man once said:

“There is a sucker born every minute.”

It is probably happening every second now.

Some people get smarter but for one person that does, there are 10 more fools coming in new fresh.

Are there lots of fools in crypto?

The supply is infinite bruh

That will happen to people who doesn't want to spend their time to research about the investment. They can get scam by fake investment program. They think that they can get fast money with program like that so they don't think much and join with depositing their money.

That is why we must research first before we decide and if necessary, we can search from many sites to get the real info. We can not just register and deposit with our money because that is too risky before we know the truth. When you find an offers that you think too good to be true, you must be aware and be cautious and make sure everything.

We don't know what will happen later with our money and if we are in a wrong program, we will lose our money. if you are too afraid to lose your money, you can skip the offers and not doing anything.

There are many ignorant people when it comes to Cryptocurrency here in our country, Ask them about what they think of Cryptocurrency and they will answer that its the one used by scammers to scam people without doing a proper investigation.
Many of my countrymen have a bad image of Bitcoin, Even though Bitcoin is already being promoted by our government and money remittances company, they just don't want to change their perception of Bitcoin, and because of this, they are left in the dark.

Whom do you want to blame here Cryptocurrency or the users? And of course to me I will blame those who are using it because there's no enough knowledge to safeguard their coin in their custody where are any random person would just come to steal from them just as the way the banking system has warned never to release any of our banking details to people out there.

Which including; our ATM card/pin, NIM, BVN and any other important documents that relates to our Banks. So tell me why would someone just ask of something online and the foolishly do not ask and consult people before furthering ahead to do whatever payment.

The thing is, it's simple and anyone who understands about security can actually not being scammed by anyone with the mindset that whatever that comes from people online that sounds too real is fake so they can avoid it coming.

Some business tycoon in their earliest days would start off on the part of integrity, honest work and goodwill. What baffles me is that after a few years the moral values which they stood for in their founding days would all have vanished. You begin to think to yourself, how these guys lost it because their names and reputation would be smeared with so much dirt, corruption, controversies, and bad ways that you can't fathom how they got there. And this is the story of Ly Yong Phat, aside these issue of his involvement in crypto investments frauds, over the years there have been other dirty issues about it. Yet, somehow, he still manages to thrive in the country and was as some point held an appointment in government. The takeaway for me here is that crypto investment scams and frauds are not limited to one country, it is very highly prevalent. And it thrives because people will always greedy and want to get-rich-quick, an illusion that doesn't exist except through crime.

That's why the government needs to strengthen its efforts to educate people about potential investment scams. Without that, this will keep happening over and over because there are many syndicates out there, and they can change their business names anytime they want.
Scammers like to situate themselves in countries where the poverty rate and corruption are high. It is easy to run a high yield investment scam in a country where majority of the population are living below poverty level. Because of the economic crisis, people there will be more convinced to invest $1 to get $100.

I’m concerned about the human trafficking part. It seems some of the culprits are claiming to be forced to work at the call centers? That would suggest that they themselves are victims of the syndicate and were not paid for their services. This is the first time I’m hearing of trafficked workers being used for scam.

I rarely see or even I have never heard that the victim is much smarter than the scammer, and the point is if there is still at least one person who is fooled then it means that smarter people are still scattered but unfortunately they use their skills to harm others.
On the other hand, as the saying goes, "experience is the best teacher" because experience will give you real knowledge, I understand that of course a beginner cannot have experience, but I think at least they can ask other people about whether something offered by others is fraudulent or not, and I think this is a mandatory action for at least someone to do every time they find new things as a precaution.

And it is also important to use a rational mindset every time you find something new, you are strongly advised to ask for at least some credible evidence and if you feel that it is unreasonable then never get involved or agree to the offer especially in activities involving money.

People fall for scam either because they are greedy or ignorant. Most times it is the former. When greed stops existing in the world, scam will stop being a profitable business. People think scammers use crypto because it is anonymous and it is a easy way to send money from one country to another but I believe the reason why scammers like to scam victims through crypto is because many are ignorant of cryptocurrency. It is easy to scam someone in a business that he/she does not have sufficient knowledge about. Crypto trading, Stocks, Forex and Real Estate are investments that scammers often use to get money from their victims

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.
I do not deny that Southeast Asia, especially Cambodia, is the largest nest of online fraud and there are quite a lot of victims, as you said, initially they were lured with jobs, but there the victims were forced to become fraudulent agents on social media. In my country, there are around 1138 citizens who became victims and were successfully repatriated (https://www.voaindonesia.com/a/wni-korban-tipuan-online-di-kamboja-telah-dipulangkan-ke-indonesia-/7080250.html). Not only in the crypto industry that is the object of fraud, but also online gambling spammers, Cambodia is the nest.

According to the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from 2020 to 2024 there were a total of 3,703 Online Scam Cases and human trafficking (https://metro.tempo.co/read/1887595/kemlu-catat-3-703-kasus-online-scam-paling-banyak-di-kamboja) crimes, all of which came from Cambodia. Quite terrible !!
Then according to the BBC (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-68705913), there are 250 Indian citizens who are also trapped in Cambodia because they are forced to run an online fraud system of money laundering and crypto fraud. Furthermore, this case has stolen attention for a long time and the UN has also responded because the victims reach hundreds of thousands from all over the world (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-66655047).

it's not just in the crypto space.

Of course. We live in a time when such lucrative tools are still dark. But this is due to the poles that allow such resourcefulness. Paradises like Dubai and the United Arab Emirates need to be duly punished, because they collaborate with drug trafficking and all the worse things. The great paradox we are experiencing today is that bitcoin was built to unbase the dollar on oil. But as the desert snake is still clever, somehow they are alive, even if they are already dying.

The main question is how the US, which backed the dollar with oil, will collaborate to undo this shit.

Of course. We cannot forget the mainstream. That would be another big topic.

I sincerely hope that William receives the throne soon from his father, Charles, because it may be the only major concrete change to bend the system. I must admit that there is a lot of righteous power coming from there.

And that somehow these corrupt Arabs fall from their power quickly, by flood or whatever it takes. That has gone beyond the limits of common sense.

Another news again about crypto scams or fraud. According to the report:

US Treasury Sanctions Cambodian Tycoon Over Crypto Fraud and Trafficking Links (https://news.bitcoin.com/us-treasury-sanctions-cambodian-tycoon-over-crypto-fraud-and-trafficking-links/)

I’ll just take the key notes from the news, something like this.

Quote
In many cases, this involves convincing victims to invest in virtual currency, or in some cases, over-the-counter foreign exchange schemes, all with the intent of defrauding them of their funds. These scams are largely perpetrated by criminal organizations based in Southeast Asia.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge. As they say, it's just easy money or HYIP. Even though regulations are getting tighter, some still manage to slip through, and most of these scams happen in poor countries.

And here's more.
Quote
The U.S. Department of the Treasury announced on Thursday that it is sanctioning a “Cambodian tycoon and businesses linked to human trafficking and forced labor in furtherance of cyber and virtual currency scams.” Cambodian businessman Ly Yong Phat, his conglomerate L.Y.P. Group, and several properties, including O-Smach Resort, have been linked to extensive human rights abuses involving trafficked workers forced into labor for online scam centers focused on cryptocurrency fraud.

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.

Scammers have been running this con since the beginning of time, if you are able to build up a con around the latest buzz words that are quite often in the news and can be hard for people to understand - you will be able to fool some people if that is your objective. It might not be one out of ten, or even 1 out of a hundred, but if the average daily wage in your country is $5 but you have access to the internet, then you only need to fool one out of 1,000 people out of 10k to become very rich in your home country. That is the strategy they take and it does work. Even some of the cleverest people in the world might not be immune to these scams if caught in the right context, and we all get old and more vulnerable which is another "opportunity" for them to steal money.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge.

Forget Crypto, People without knowledge are getting scammed in the old banking system every single day. Credit Card Scams, Loan Scams, and what not.
Crypto requires a little bit knowledge and safety of your coins which in the normal banking system, a bank does it for you.

It's exactly similar as securing your cash in your wallet or at home from thieves. That's what exactly you have to do for Crypto. Just keep it safe from these E-thieves.

Exactly, there are still people that will still fall prey to it because there are various methods of scam now of which anyone who is not careful and cautious enough will end up falling victim so it's not only about cryptocurrency.
Most things about cryptos requires personal knowledge and security because everything is in your custody unlike banks that literally does the protection of ones funds and yet it doesn't mean that the security of your funds can't be tampered with that's when some of the vital information about your account is being exposed to scammers.
Cryptocurrency involves a lot of carefulness because if you lose your seed phrases then your coin is lost forever or if you are careless and a third party gets knowledge of your keys then possibly your coins are gone so someone who is not disciplined enough cannot deal with crypto assets as not your keys not your coins.

Fraud in general can occur with different modes. People often say that mode with ordinary levels is easy to guess so that it can be avoided, but there are still trapped because of ignorance.
The perpetrators continue to develop new ways of carrying out fraud. Fraud in the crypto world requires more knowledge because in this field is not just ordinary knowledge because the perpetrators targeted victims of knowledgeable people.

For people who have been involved in the world of crypto, it might still be trapped because there are many types of crypto, especially brands that make the mind that crypto is rich quickly.
Instead of bothering with fraud in the crypto world, Bitcoin is the only one that cannot be cheated as long as we know how to get bitcoin and how to store it.

I don’t think this scam is related to crypto alone because people just seek quick gains not just crypto and when they find out crypto is available for quick gain they invest immediately without the knowledge if this platform is 100% trusted or a scam scheme. Nowadays scammers work together with the source so in this kind of situation who should we blame? I don’t think anyone is above mistakes but how we act towards our mistake should be right, most times you’ll be surprised people experience scam always in the crypto space and I always ask why, maybe they lack the knowledge as a newbie especially when they trick customers with higher returns, what’s more better in terms of addressing this issue? since people fall victim always.

I have seen something similar but a bit different happening in our country. There is a group that scams people online by telling them they are a company that would help them make investments either in cryptocurrencies or stocks and that they will get good returns for their investment.

What the group does with that money shows how good they are at what they do. So they first convince the victims to invest money, then they utilize P2P platforms from centralized exchanges such as Binance. They offer to pay a higher price than the market to USDT or other stablecoin sellers for selling their coins in bulk to them. Some sellers sense the danger but some become greedy looking at the offer because they offer a higher price than the current market price and one can get a good profit if they are getting that much value for their coins because they can immediately buy more coins with the money.

So, when a seller agrees to sell them their coins, what they do is they take the payment credentials such as bank or mobile account details of the seller and give those details to the person that they have convinced to make investments and ask him to send the payment to that account calling the account holder their agent or team member living within the same country. The victim sends the money, and the USDT seller from the P2P market receives the funds and releases the USDT to them. The victim later realizes that they have been scammed, what they do is they go and complain against the person who received the funds from them.

It's all done through a gameplan, the guy selling USDT gets stuck when the victim complains against them, their account gets blocked, funds confiscated, and in worst-case scenarios, even authorities get involved.

Some people are not just smart, some people becomes greedy after hearing a very tempting offer regarding the profit they are going to make. Even in the next ten to twenty years to come, there are people who will still fall victim for this kind of scam. Lack of crypto knowledge can also lead to this because its possible to use the pump and dump algorithm of an altcoin to convince a naive person who doesn't have any cryptot knowledge into investing in a scam project.  For example, if you pick a token that has pumped by 100% in just a short period of time, and you show it to a novice and tell the person that if they invest $1000 that they will make a 100% profit in just few days, if the person has the money and doesn't have any knowledge about crypto, such person can become a victim.

This is more about the lack of economic education that is endemic all around the world than about being smart, governments all over the world prefer to keep their citizens ignorant about those topics, and this is because it is a big business, as just as scammers deceive their victims, banks and other institutions deceive people all the time legally to give them their money, do whatever they want with it, earn a lot of money and then refuse to give any of those profits to those that gave them their trust, so there is no incentive at all to change this and it is up to each one of us to inform ourselves about the risks that are inherent to any market.

These greedy people missed the opportunity to invest in Bitcoin when it was pretty cheap during the early years, and to make "only" 50% or 100% over a Bitcoin investment initiated nowadays isn't enough for them, so they feel tempted and fascinated by the offers made by scammers through crypto tokens and altcoins. This category of investor wants to turn few hundreds of dollars into many thousands of even millions in very short time periods.

As consequence, they get scammed, because there isn't any reliable methods which ensure that margin of profit on short run. Even Bitcoin demands patience from investors, returning profits only after years in some cases. So, it's not a magical currency to make millionaires overnight.

The fact people nowadays are extremely immediatist also plays a big role in financial matters, triggering anxiety and compulsivity on them, what leads to dumb decisions like investing in hiyps and ponzi schemes.

The problem with this kind of scam is that the government itself is not fast enough to act.  The turtle phase of the government in verifying whether a company is a scam or not makes lots of investors to put their money into this scam scheme.

Most of the time these kinds of scam have license applied and approved for certain functions but after gaining the license these scam company starts to collect funds to people which also needed an another license from the financial institution.  People can't find fault on the company because they are provided a license to operate under the same company name even though this same company has no right or license to collect money.  Mostly the government are late to found out the fraud after many people had been victimized by these scam.

:o For some things, we have other types of more serious problems in this sense. It is not the scam of opportunists in itself that becomes insignificant. Google, for example, Bing or search platforms are negligent in disclosing such scammers, always being able to protect them. Another thing is that, for example, Google's payment system favors those who generate money, even if it is illicit.

So perhaps I see that a personality like Bill Gates is a major actor and executioner behind this process. There may be others, but they are just apprentices of his. No one has ever heard of Bill Gates' theses, the influence of the Teletubbies, etc., in addition to the way he indirectly controls the media. He already has half a generation working for his ideologies and stereotypes without him lifting a finger. And he did this consciously.

This is pure behavioral science, combined with philosophical hermeticism.

This certainly opens many doors for people with bad intentions to do what he needs and still get away with it harmlessly. I ask you. Almost everything we do today depends on Google. Who do you think is actually behind this? For those who are more aware of this system, they know that Gates has a hand in all of this.

I believe that if God allows it, one day we will need to do regression to understand our behavioral triggers and put him in psychopathy books because for some unexplained reason he moves these technologies as he believes he would like the human world to be. Honestly, this is quite complex because I still can't extrapolate in the analysis of his real personality, only by seeing him in person.

There are many behavioral differences between people who use Microsoft and those who found alternatives in other operating systems. Bill Gates almost managed to close the development of Linux, for example, in the 90s and he really is like a digital "emperor".

There are many historical holes and gaps that go unnoticed. Today we have a generation of 15 to 25 years old absorbed in the internet. Those over 25 years old up to 39 are suspicious that something is wrong. Anyone who is over 40 or completely disoriented is either taking advantage of the loopholes he created or trying to get out of it. It's a much bigger game than we can imagine. There would need to be another "Gates" with the antidote to help people get out of the trance and hypnosis experienced by Microsoft's operating system. This is real. :'(

We can't blame them because the hesitation on this market is real! If people are not well-versed in some aspects, they won't touch it. Hence, they are not interested to get involved up until when they are seeing the prices are skyrocketing in the market. That's when they will try to get their hands on when everyone is already talking.

So if you encounter any person trying their hands on this market, better give them a piece of advice to take precautions of what they are about to experience. If they are not yet oriented with the basics, then, try to educate themselves first. Don't be in a rush for the mere thought of profits. Because believe me, even long timers here can't guarantee the success of every investment that you will make on this market.

As long as there are people who rush into something without prior research and studies, scamming won't definitely be stopped. Scammers are everywhere, and if you are not cautious with what you are doing with regards to money or investments, you'll definitely fall into being scammed. In fact, this is not only for crypto but in different investment opportunities. Where there are poorly knowledgeable people, that's when scams are highly possible.

Even with real money, people still become victims of these schemes because they are not aware of how it goes. And that's why lack of awareness is the reason for them to become a victim of these cons. It's kinda harsh to say that there still a lot of fools around in the world but that's a fact. We cannot stop these scammers by just pointing them out but to raise awareness to the communities that we are in so that they will be stopped becoming victims of this. Also, the mindset of people that gets along with a quick return and rich overnight success is what also keeps them falling for these cons.

Isn't that just par for the course? Scams wouldn't be a thing if people realized that they are scams, and even if people do realize it, scams would simply just evolve again so that people don't assume that it is one. Sometimes it's lack of awareness yes but some others just simply have that much skill when it comes to human engineering. It doesn't help that countering/preventing being manipulated isn't exactly taught to the general public for the most part and is just a to each their own kind of thing.

Aaaand also doesn't help that a lot of people want easy money lol.

Mmm.. that makes sense since this is happening in Asia and in poor countries. They prefer to operate in places where laws aren't strictly enforced, in short, corrupt countries. Sorry to speak badly about my own country, but that’s the reality-corrupt politicians let these kinds of syndicates slip through.
Well dont bother I kinda understand that since I am living too under your the flag youre living. The worst part there is they let it slide for some money. They cant get caught since they are well protected above those who are higher in rank. How can you arrest those criminals if the authority protecting them in ways we cant imagine.

The world is indeed crazy now, sir, unless there are those who want to sacrifice and want to go viral with complete evidence in the main media and then get a response from various elements of society. At least a little bit of trouble for them too. The effect is also quite strong for news spreaders. ;D ;D.

It is very rare to see or hear that the victim is more intelligent than the scammer. And if there's still one person who's still been deceived It just goes to show that even the smartest people can make mistakes sometimes. This means that people with high skills or high intelligence can still do bad jobs. On the other hand, as people say, "Experience is the best teacher" though not all beginners will have experience. However, they must ask for help from other people and verify if what is being presented is a scam. This is useful for those who may get a new opportunity. Moreover, whenever one acquires a new product, they must remain optimistic about it. It's always of great importance to come out with valid evidence and even make a verification on the correctness of any pronouncement. Especially if there is something to be made from that move. If something doesn't feel right Don't get involved.

You're absolutely on point as far as the role of science in avoiding deception is concerned. In general here, fraudsters target people without any knowledge of any form of currency or cryptocurrencies. One is then more prone to false promises and deception. However, though consulting in arts may be part of a strategy, lack of knowledge contributes to a person's vulnerability. As we have mentioned above. It is quite crucial to keep abreast of knowledge and training in cryptocurrencies and financial matters. With full knowledge, we can easily identify red flags and avoid fraud. That is why it's important to do your research, seek good advice, and never rush into any investment. Knowledge is truly the best tool against fraud.

With regard to the role of awareness in preventing fraud, it's a good point. The majority of people fall victims to such techniques on account of a knowledge deficit. Indeed, it is RIDICULOUSLY TRUE that most fraudsters exploit the lack of knowledge. Awareness within our community must be maintained in order to keep these scams at bay. Identification of fraudsters does not put them to a halt. Moreover, Instant returns and overnight success often blur people's understanding of the risks involved. This leaves them even more vulnerable to fraud. Therefore, by improving the education given and by increasing greater awareness, we would help reduce the number of victims further and make it harder for fraudsters to succeed.

In general, yes.
While the entire crypto market is thriving and more people becoming open and willing to adopt Bitcoin and other crypto investments. The scammers are also adapting to the pace that this industry is doing. And to answer that question, just because we're aware of these scams and everything, it doesn't mean that others know that much of it. That's why we keep on hearing these scam reports left and right whether they are the known scams, the typical, or something new. Even the most common scams to us that are aware of it, you'll never know how many people are still not aware of it and kept unheard and that is because it's not us that are being targeted but them, the uninform.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge. As they say, it's just easy money or HYIP. Even though regulations are getting tighter, some still manage to slip through, and most of these scams happen in poor countries.
It’s probably the lack of awareness regarding crypto and anything technical that makes it easier for these scams to penetrate the system still. Poor countries have really concerning educational crisis that is sometimes evident when it comes to these kind of things. They lack reading comprehension as well as media literacy. How will they avoid getting scammed if they don’t know how to navigate the internet in the first place?

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.
Possibly. In syndicates, it is rarely that only one crime is occurring. Abuses, violence as well as sexual harassment are common. With the POGO scheme in the Philippines, they had women that would attract investors to scam. It wouldn’t be surprising if a lot of them were not willing to do any of what they did.

It’s very obvious that the growth and popularity of bitcoin in a positive way has been taken advantage by these criminals and they were riding bitcoin all along. And since bitcoin has been famous for its get rich quick agenda, a lot of new investors have been lured and bite their offers without thinking thoroughly that it has become already a too good to be true scheme.

However, there is no smart person when it comes to committing crimes and any form of fraudulence. If you won’t get caught and receive the proper sanction at the current, surely there’s always a time for those criminals to get punished. No one is above the law, regardless of how much wealth you have stored personally.

Fraud occurs for several reasons and maybe stupidity is one of the reasons we often see. But it is also not uncommon for many people to experience fraud because they are too trusting of promises of large returns and this happens in several countries. For example, like fake investments that promise to be given maximum profits and they don't need to do anything, even though logically this is clearly a fraud, but many people are trapped in it.

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.
Because of the lack of knowledge about the jobs offered, they easily believe it or it could be because of economic problems so they don't care about the fraud and try to do it. If it is done structurally and massive by certain people, this becomes very dangerous when no one is able to verify the truth because they are indeed chasing people who need money to be employed.

I have seen how human trafficking is disguised as a work agreement and most of this happens in poor countries. It looks so sad indeed, but that is the reality because people need money to continue their lives so they don't care what kind of work they have to do even though not all of them are willing to do the job.

Yes, what you said is one of the triggers for someone to eventually become a victim of fraud such as greed without being based on knowledge, and usually they are people who want everything instant like money so it is quite easy for them to put their trust when various offers that look tempting come to them.
On the other hand, yes, I also agree with your opinion that one of the reasons perpetrators now use crypto as an intermediary to deceive others is because even though it is now a modern era, there are still some people who really do not have any knowledge about the crypto world which makes it very easy for fraudsters to carry out their missions.

In the end, yes, this is indeed a quite worrying situation, not everyone is interested in learning about the crypto world in order to avoid fraud, because they would not think that minimal knowledge could make them victims of fraud, so I think maybe what they can do is implement various basic precautions.

We do not rule out knowledge as the main capital in doing anything but Bitcoin with crypto must be differentiated and it is based on knowledge. If knowledge is put forward then the difference between Bitcoin and crypto will be found with a wise answer too.
Crypto can easily be scammed by perpetrators, while Bitcoin is not. Bitcoin is risky but the risks involved in Bitcoin with crypto are very different.

One can be a fool for long because of the absence of resources to gain the right expertise and that's one reason why Bitcoin being more publicized and more invested in remains the easiest crypto currency option to invest in with much guidance coming from this forum and from those who understand the investment strategies to apply for long term profit.
Investing in Bitcoin has proven to be safe over the years despite the fluctuating prices. But Bitcoin is not just a price. Bitcoin that we have recognized has other things like value. Regarding profit, Bitcoin can be profitable periodically by investors so that large companies in the world and even governments make Bitcoin a long-term investment asset.

There are still really a lot of fools when it comes to crypto investment?
Those who are deceived are not fools, but greedy people who want to gain big profits in an easy way. They forget that money doesn't just fall from the sky, but because they are lazy to look for information or analyze, it is so easy for fraudsters to steal their funds.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge.
People with minimal knowledge will be very easily deceived, not only in the crypto industry, they also often become victims of fraudulent investments, loans with high interest rates or other systems mobilized by the government. In fact, crypto investment has never been difficult for anyone, as long as people are willing to follow the flow in the right way, investors will be safe from various attacks that can harm them.

High risk high return, this is the key. If you don't want to get caught in a bigger risk, then consider everything before investing by doing a thorough analysis of the coin or project you want to invest in.

Some people are not just smart, some people becomes greedy after hearing a very tempting offer regarding the profit they are going to make.

It's not just greed that leads some people into becoming victims, having a zero knowledge about cryptocurrencies can also be a cause which some people have become victim to scammers. When you don't have knowledge about something, you can easily be convinced and end up losing your money.

Even in a real genuine crypto investment, people lose money because of their lack of good crypto knowledge.  There's this man, who used almost all his business capital to invest into Bitcoin, thinking that the price can just pump and he will sell and get back his money and some profit, but unfortunately, the market turned against him and when he couldn't bear it, he sold at lose. That's what lack of good investment knowledge can cause.

Another news again about crypto scams or fraud. According to the report:

I’ll just take the key notes from the news, something like this.

Quote
In many cases, this involves convincing victims to invest in virtual currency, or in some cases, over-the-counter foreign exchange schemes, all with the intent of defrauding them of their funds. These scams are largely perpetrated by criminal organizations based in Southeast Asia.

Often times so many people fall victims of this circumstances, it's not like they are to be blame for their predicament but that's what you get when you don't really know how to go about crypto investment and what you get is losses or being scammed which is more frustrating than anything else.

Weeks back a friend of mine was kinda depressed and we had a conversation he was actually saying he doesn't know what's wrong with him, then I look for ways to get what the matter was but it was just few days ago he told me that he's having losses in his trading and he's making him depressed and frustrated like right now he doesn't know what to do.So I asked him the necessary questions if he knows about the strategies to crypto trade and other aspects but his reply wasn't vivid and sound so I think it's not by becoming fool out of this but going into crypto investment needs technically know how and  to safeguard it as well to stay away from fraud.

This has nothing to do with Bitcoin and its emerging popularity. We're acting surprised because someone is using cryptocurrencies for what they are—currencies that you can conduct transactions with, some fully anonymously, some pseudo-anonymously, but still discreetly with minimal risk of ever being found. Scams always existed; it's just that some have pivoted into accepting cryptocurrencies for their own security. In the past, Western Union payments were extremely popular among the scammers, and it's still a method they choose nowadays as well, along with giftcards of major corporations, such as Amazon.

Unfortunately, people are easily fooled; social media is filled with so-called entrepreneurs on HYIP or MLM scamming platforms that can make the average person working a 9-5 job feel inadequate.

But the banking industry is regulated by the government, so there's less risk because they won’t include anything illegal or below industry standard rates like penalties or interest in our loan or credit card agreements. You’re right, we don’t always read all the details because of how lengthy they are, but banking is fundamentally a trust business, so we have to rely on that trust.

As far as cybercrime is concerned such kinds of groups target innocent users in the name of easy money and needy people get trapped and then they trap them into such systems and then use blackmailing to promote and work for them otherwise they threaten their social life.

As they say, there’s no scammer if there are no victims. If people can’t educate themselves, then government intervention is needed, and that should be possible if the government weren’t so corrupt but in the case of poor countries, most of them, we know corruption is rampant like it has become a normal thing.

Yup agreed.

I won't dare to comment anything in the favour of any under-develop country about the corruption, Here in my own country the AML, and Anti-corruption Department's heads are super duper corrupt people, there's no merit-based selection favoritism and nepotism are just normalized that there's no accountability for anyone, on top of that TBH people, dont care about it, they are living in their own zome.

In every instance there's the same case study, everything is just ****** up

It is crazy to think about it, that there are people who are forced to work for a syndicate and scam people online through cryptocurrencies, i don't know if these people knew about this job from the beginning or if they were coaxed into it with no way out for them. I think people who are forced into labor like this are usually desperate people, and it is easy for the bad guys to take advantage of desperation. I hope the law takes its full course on criminals like these and people should learn about these scam tricks and avoid falling for it.

These victims are usually promised very good jobs, better working condition with a very good pay. The offers are often very enticing and it is very difficult for anyone who is swimming in poverty to say NO to such offer. It is quite unfortunate that they don't get to meet what they bargained for and they end up doing jobs and working for people they ordinarily wouldn't want to do or work for.

I do not blame these human trafficking victims because they just want a better standard of living just like everyone of us. Those that should be held accountable for their actions are those who would see obvious red flags and still jump into scam investments because of greed.

Perpetrators of scam investments of whatever form should be fished out and sanctioned accordingly. These set of people are causing more hardships on their victims.

Many of these victims will most likely be immigrants as well, coming from third world countries where they have lost all hope of a good life, such people are quick to jump on employement offers in another country and they do not hesitate to sell everything they have back at home, in order to fund the trip, but they do not know that they are being shipped into forced labor for criminal organizations. It is up to the authorities to ensure that we see less of these things and also up to people to verify every nuance before taking up any job.

Well that's it, like your opinion where most likely people like that are those who are in desperation in finding work, and this incident also happened in my country where not a few of my citizens were offered jobs that previously looked tempting but in the end it turned out to be nothing more than a trap, and usually this type of work requires them to migrate abroad with sweet promises such as big salaries but in the end when they are there they become slaves who are continuously told to work but do not get paid and this scenario happens for years because access to go home is limited by their employers, this is not much different from working for a syndicate to deceive others, but the difference is the risk is not involving other people as victims.

New in the local news (https://jabar.tribunnews.com/2024/09/11/dijanjikan-jadi-admin-kripto-5-warga-sukabumi-dipaksa-kerja-jadi-admin-judi-online-di-myanmar)... You can read and then translate it.

Where some young people were promised crypto admin jobs (I don't know what crypto admin is, it's not explained in detail) but when ordinary people don't know what they are interested in and follow the work there, then what happens he is locked up and only eats 1x a day this is really barbaric ... they are also used as slot admin scams in Myanmar.

You think many people are as enlighten as they look? Listen to them speak and you'll see reasons why scammers are having an easy payday.

People are very easy to fool and they're ready to give you their money when you can make them believe that you don't need it. Altcoins are doing it everyday, new altcoins are stealing people money and more will still invest so is crypto scams all over the internet.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge. As they say, it's just easy money or HYIP. Even though regulations are getting tighter, some still manage to slip through, and most of these scams happen in poor countries.

Ignorance that's the excuse they'll be giving but why will someone join an industry and not do his findings to stay updated. The golden rule is, "if it's looking too good to be true, it usually is".

Why will you fall for someone promising you unrealistic profits, sometimes I just feel people getting scam deserve it because they're making the job of the scammers so easy. Scams comes in different approaches but they all have similar things which are unrealistic/high rewards. Stay away from those and you'll be safe from scams

These scam hubs are increasing and each country that is involved in this should act on and place them in total judgment so that whoever is behind these scam hubs will be scared and punished.

But maybe like in the movies, the syndicate itself is part of the government or high-ranking officials that are receiving some benefits and commissions from this.

Well, that's just a thought, it could be possible or just a fiction from the movies that we watch.

Scams are widely done globally so I expect that there's a running syndicate operating this schemes so we need to be aware and avoid any possible scams since its important for us not to avail those crazy huge returns they offer to their potential victims so we will not fall in their hands.

Quite a lot and they do it systematically, Yes. there are so many victims, not to mention the investment mode with the lure of quick profits in just a few weeks, whether in crypto using bots, gold investments or others made by irresponsible companies by marketing their products, active count 1 year and once they have made enough profit, the website channel and others disappear and who knows where.

I think the important point here is why it is difficult to disappear and easy to be fooled where the level of public awareness is still weak and they do not do further checks only trusting the words of friends, close relatives who entered first and have made a profit at the beginning and choosing the type and investment company that has a clear track record before.

One can simply not run out of fools in this world. They are everywhere. That’s why we see many Ponzi schemes popping up one after another. People can’t have enough of them. You know a wise man once said:

“There is a sucker born every minute.

It is probably happening every second now.

Some people get smarter but for one person that does, there are 10 more fools coming in new fresh.

Are there lots of fools in crypto?

The supply is infinite bruh

People are born, they know nothing, they learn lessons from experiences, often this lessons can be costly, then they learn dos/don'ts but can you really blame them?

A good parenting can help to some extent but world is ever changing, there is no know all defence that can protect you all times.

I hope the law takes its full course on criminals like these and people should learn about these scam tricks and avoid falling for it.

Yes, many foreign countries agent scam with people. They took extra money, deceived them, and exaggerated the truth. But when a person reaches to the other country, he realizes the  his foolness and after he tries to quit that country. So persona should be aware from that kind of scammers and always do the work with legally and if you will work illegally, he will be in the goal ultimately. But the topic is you should get knowledge of everything and you judge after taking any decision because it will impact on you family also. Take decisions which are in the favour of you mr family and do not take any step that will cause suffer  to your family.

The schemes used by fraudsters are very convincing, in some cases they dare to spend capital to attract more victims by giving multiples of what they invest, when in a situation like this sometimes smart people will look stupid because they are obsessed with wanting to get rich the easy way. Being alert and always careful in any investment will reduce the level of greater risk, fraudsters always have a way to introduce their methods that can convince their victims. When it comes to the huge rewards offered, it is not only the stupid people who fall victim, many smart people are also attracted to the offers due to greed and neglect learning.

Fraudsters will do anything to find their victims, including daring to spend money first before carrying out their evil plans. They must have also considered the benefits they will get, so they will not hesitate to spend money like that. Don't think that fraudsters are stupid people, they are smart people, it's just that they use their intelligence to harm others. Even I myself am sure they are much smarter in this matter. Just imagine when they think about smoothing their plans, it will definitely require a strategy, and they must also know what they have to do in order to attract the interest of the people they will deceive. Moreover, in this crypto space it is more complicated, because they must really understand something related to crypto.

So in this case it is not too strange when a lot of ordinary people make statements that crypto is something negative and always deals with criminals because in the end this kind of thing always exists.
But it needs to be underlined that in the end this is also not the fault of crypto but the fault of the intentions of some people who are not very good and there are so many ordinary people who want to be in crypto but do not understand what they are doing that in the end this is very easy to trick which makes fraudulent schemes like this actually an old way but always successful because there are so many naive people who just want to join the hype but do not understand and do not want to learn what they are doing because the focus is only on the benefits they will have later.

It is quite difficult when changing the view of ordinary people towards commodity assets like this because apart from the situation of people who sometimes don't want to get out of their comfort zone, they also don't want to change their mindset, especially when talking about crypto coupled with some people who justify the means for personal gain, crypto will still be viewed badly by some people, especially for those who are laymen.

If something is too good to be true then it's definitely going to be a scam. I don't know why people don't follow this simple saying. Some scams are more intricate and complex than others, but they can easily be spotted, as well.

Trust your gut feeling if it tells you that something is wrong. That really is the best scam detector.

Title: Re: There are still really a lot of fools when it comes to crypto investment?

This is different since it’s very common in the crypto space for people without enough knowledge to easily fall for investments that seem too good to be true. Credit card scams and loan scams are another story, but if they also get scammed on those, it’s not shocking they’d get scammed in crypto too.

I don't think I'll call them "fools", but greed is a very big part of what these scammers thrive on. They thrive on the fact people are always looking for ways to make money and get better lives for themselves. They know that when people see these "too good to be true" offers they'll be interested and from there they'll fall for it.
I think a lot of education and awareness still needs to be done in this because it's not looking good at all. I believe if they have this education in general, it will be easier to use it in crypto and be safe, but then again, I don't think it will help much because if you look at the amount of people that invest in memecoins, you'll be surprised. These are educated people who are not gullible but because they believe they can get rich from the next coin, they won't stop and they keep losing money to scammers.

Scammers take different forms these days, not just crime syndicates in the Philippines and Cambodia.  Scammers come in celebrities, YouTubers, and influencers.
We can clearly see how people feel about the celebrity meme coins and lost so much money. I don't think moe that one per cent of the investors made a profit from them, but they still go on.

Of course, most people act like fools when it comes to investing in cryptocurrencies, especially those who invest all funds together at the same time. Moreover, before investing, one must know well about the various pre-conditions of investment and then invest. But most of the investors invest without knowing the pre-conditions well and thus get the result of investing like a fool.

because they are very eager to change their economy quickly, and minimal knowledge and limited access to a lot of information makes them vulnerable to fraud, I am not surprised by this because around me even though I don't live in a poor country there are many experiences with different forms of fraud, buying coins launched by artists with the lure of big profits but it turns out that the artist is getting richer and the investors can only lament because the coins no longer have value on the market.

This pattern also happened to my friend's closest friend where he was offered to work abroad but it turned out not to work as promised.
Difficulty in getting a job in own country will make people tempted to go abroad to make money and change the economy.

It is undeniable that everyone wants drastic economic changes, but the difference here is that there are people who understand everything first to avoid risks and there are people who don't think about the risks at all because they only think that they can change their economic situation. And people like this are the ones who have a lot of problems because their knowledge is minimal while their high desires want to be realized immediately even though the reality is not like that. Of course, in any case there must be consideration and knowledge first because there must be risks in what we do. We must be able to balance everything, if we really want to change the economic situation then we need to have good knowledge if we decide to enter the crypto world. In addition, with the current many people who can be said to be crazy about money, they will do anything that can even harm others such as cheating on the internet, so we must remain vigilant.

One must ask oneself. Why does this happen in poor countries? The answer is quite simple. It is all because the level of education of the population leaves much to be desired. As soon as this situation changes, it will become much more difficult to carry out fraudulent schemes and, most likely, even impossible. Everything is on the surface and you don’t need to go far. It is enough to think logically to find the reason for all this chaos.

How many wealthy people fall for such a bait, huh? You can count them on your fingers. Why is that? It’s all banal. Such people not only have an education, but also consultants on financial and investment issues who know their business very well.

Crypto is currently relatively the best thing for the fraudsters and scammers because we are having too many peoples those are not understanding this and trying to take quick profit which causes them lost of their money and get scammed as well specially in developing countries it's working rapidly because we are having no solid legislation and peoples are coming quickly under this impression of having good profit from these fraudsters in few cases government officials are also involved which helps them for having safe passage.

Due to strict laws and having good policies in few countries we are doing good and peoples are well aware about things like these because education is the best safe passage for preventing things like these but as mentioned we are still having a generation of fools those never try to understand and jump into way where usually greediness killed them, and they ended with empty-handed.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who end up fixing their income with issues and that would not be anything at all but when it comes to there are a lot of issues at all. We need to consider this to be something that will be getting a lot of trouble right now. I believe that when we should consider this a lot better when it comes to getting fooled, there are a lot of gullible people who end up getting terrible judgement and cause them to lose a lot of loss.

Getting scammed is something that shouldn't be this easy but a lot of people end up getting scammed right now and that is doing quite terrible. I think getting scammed is something we can't avoid, not everyone will be scammed but there will be scammers who scam some people but I just think that it shouldn't be this easy. We need to consider that this going to be just decent, which is why I think it should be something we should consider this as not a good thing at all, it has to be very careful in the end.

Anonymity is the best recipe or the perfect ingredient for those scammers and fraudsters on which this is where they could really be able to utilize things for them to scam out people. They would really be
making things as attractive as possible on which we do know that people are naturally greedy on which on the time that they've seen something which they do thought that it could make them rich then this is the time
that they would really be having that kind of involvement and really tends to engage with it and the worst part is that they do make some all in when it comes to investing or putting up their money until on the time that they had able to realize in the end that they've been scammed. Just like on whats been elaborated that there's always those people who would really be getting scammed or would be experiencing such as this. Why?
Due to lack of knowledge and sometimes they do really missed out on making use of their own common sense. They are really that simply getting blinded by greed and thats why they would really be that directly making
up some involvement in things on which it is really that obviously a scam or fraud. Experience is the best teacher but its not really that necessary on experiencing it first before you do able to learn.
You could be able to avoid things if you do really just that reading up other peoples experiences or simply just make use of your common sense.

Someone who chooses to get crypto should have knowledge in how to manage it when they do not have sufficient knowledge, they have actually done something fatal for themselves in running crypto and their own security.

It's exactly similar as securing your cash in your wallet or at home from thieves. That's what exactly you have to do for Crypto. Just keep it safe from these E-thieves.

Requires privacy and a high level of security in securing important assets to be stored, money is an important part of life and of course it is stored in a very safe place, some people choose it in a bank because they believe in it, while those who move in crypto they also have strict key security for their privacy.

But in fact believe it or not this always happens especially when some big media that always raise problems when dealing with bitcoin (when the news is negative) it is already proof that in this case bitcoin is always a target to throw blame as if bitcoin is a negative thing that needs to be shunned but they do not clearly explain that in the end bitcoin is just an object that can indeed be used depending on the intentions of the people because in the end bitcoin can also be used for negative things such as fraud on behalf of bitcoin and we cannot deny that because it does exist.
But again, this is not the fault of bitcoin itself because in fact they are only an object that is used and actually not only bitcoin is used as an object because when talking about fraud even gold or fiat is vulnerable to being used as an object just like bitcoin.

Just because bitcoin is not too favored by some powerful people, it is clear that bitcoin will always be highlighted in contrast to gold and fiat which are actually just as vulnerable.

Very true, and we all know about those type of banking scams. The ones having bank accounts often get scam calls where the scammer pretends to be bank representative who wants the customer to secure his/her bank account. However, in real that's the scammer not a bank representative at all.

Those who are into crypto should keep in their mind that various kind of scams can take place in crypto world and ones assets in crypto are way less secure then those at banks. However, if someone is good at technical things then he/she may have better safety, security plus privacy then what those banks offer.

I have been in this phase, I really need money and am tempted by work abroad but it turns out that the job vacancy is a scammer, very different from what they offered at the beginning. However, education is very important for everyone, especially fresh graduates who have no experience so that they are no longer trapped by fake job offers. In the crypto world, we cannot avoid fraud. The most important thing is that we must continue to filter incoming information properly and carefully.

Your judgment is very strange. Why should we all be deceived by scammers? Why all of a sudden? Didn't they teach us to read at school? Why were we given technology that allows us to get almost any information in the shortest possible time? Do you know the reason why people fall for deception? It's much simpler than you think. It all boils down to banal laziness. Why? I already answered this question above. No one wants to take a few minutes of their personal time and find information that will help them avoid troubles and tragic consequences.

Most people are deceived because of their own mistakes in not trying to verify the truth of the information they get so that at a certain time they are deceived. I have also heard of several neighbors who received information about work abroad and jobs that were hard to get, in the end they were willing to pay to get the job. But in the end they were deceived and were never called for the job offered by irresponsible people. Education does not guarantee that someone will get the job they want, but education is a means for people not to be easily deceived by others.

There are many people in the crypto world who are deceived because of reasons of quick returns on capital and that is based on greed and inability to see the truth. Never expect to get big profits if the capital invested is small and wherever we are there is no potential and opportunity to get big profits by relying on small capital.

However, we must remain careful and vigilant about it. Sometimes scammers are also very good at adapting, and every time, new people are interested in this investment. The goal of scammers is those who do not do research and focus on profit. In addition, many people are scammed because the team or developer who was initially serious about working on the project suddenly became greedy. There were quite a few projects in the past like that. Because of this, we need to be vigilant and continue to do in-depth research on the development of the investment we have.

It is undeniable that most people are deceived because they do not have a social environment and do not have knowledge so they are easily trapped in fraudulent syndicates, especially if the economic conditions are not good, it is very easy to get trapped. On the other hand, why people are easily deceived apart from the knowledge factor, also because of the influence of emotions that cannot be controlled.

With knowledge and social environment we can protect ourselves from fraud, because of course we can recognize the signs of fraud, verify information, and be more careful in taking information so as not to provide personal data or be tempted by quick money schemes carelessly. It's certainly an edge if you are knowledgeable and updated with the different scheme scenarios that are currently happening so that you can avoid from falling on it no matter how big amount the offer is. Even if we say desperate people are less likey to think and act ethically, but if they have been aware of these possible scenarios, definitely they will always be cautious not to fall victims for this kind of scheme. Knowledge will lead them doing the right thing and take them to the right path.

Nowadays, there are so many examples of fraud that often occur in this era, starting from online fraud to offline fraud, so always be alert to anything suspicious.

We can also add up the greed come up on their side first because they think first about the profit they can get without even considering if they are going to invest on a legitimate program or just a pure scam. Also scammers are expert to play with the emotion of people that's why they target those vulnerable individuals because with them they can successfully do all their evil plans with those people.

Profits and huge figures shown is somehow a great bait for people that's the reason why there's lot of ignorant people got scam because they easily believe that there's an easy way for them to earn huge money then became so damn rich.

If they would just able to figure out that every to good to be true offers they seen is a scam for sure that they will not came to the point that they entertain any scam offers and they only go with programs which could able to offer them a high chance to earn profit.

So I think it all comes back to yourself regardless of what social environment we live in, but when we want to start something, we should learn first to minimize the risk.
And for the many cases of fraud that have actually become victims, there are also some who can rise and take positive lessons, so sometimes winning some people can learn from mistakes and make it better.

I feel sorry for these people but it was their fault of not validating the claims of the recruiter.  Most of these victims are probably from poor environment.  Since they wanted to get a job without spending to much money for the requirement, they are deceived in taking the offer from these scammers.
Yup it could be their fault for not validating whether the job is real or just a lure... Maybe it could be because they are unemployed for a long time when there is a job with a large salary abroad they will definitely accept the offer without double checking again.
I think accepting an offer from another nation isn't always that easy. Even on legit ones, you do not want to accept it right away, I got offers from three different nations, all better life than what I have right now and I reject all three because leaving my nation isn't always a choice for me. I know that it's a tough one but at the end of the day it's not even just about the nation.

It's more about people you know, I have my entire family here, I have my parents more importantly, I have my spouse, I have my friends, and I have people I know here. If they all come with me then yeah sure I can go to any nation in the world, but I would be leaving all of that behind. To do that, you have to really feel like there is nothing left for you in a nation to get to another nation, if you have even resemblance of a decent life in your nation then you would prefer not to leave. So, these people must be feeling quite desperate if they believe in these scams.

Maybe these people were probably offered a different job at first, but when they got to the actual work, it turned out to be a scam. They probably can’t leave anymore because there’s a big syndicate behind it. The pattern seems familiar, kind of like the scenario with POGO here in the Philippines.

I call this deceit and exploitation, and another one is what the Chinese are employing to their fellow Chinese, giving them loan after their potential victims lose a lot of money from gambling. They offer the victim huge loan and with exorbitant interest if the victim cannot pay anymore, they kidnap them and forcibly work them on POGO.

That's the stories of many Chinese who became victims of POGO, so people should get familiar or check the background of those offering too good to be true jobs or investment its likely a scam and you will regret later.

Those that were getting scammed were not investing in crypto currencies. They were just doing what they were being told by the scammers. I am pretty much sure that they don't even know what crypto currencies are. The scammers probably convinced them that they are just sending them money (for whatever reason), but through a different way. Most of the victims are elderly people or are less educated people that are desperate for money. You can not go around calling those vulnerable people fools. Moreover, scams like this has been going on forever. Scammers used giftcards or other methods before. But now they are using crypto and exchanges.

Environmental factors that can influence each person are factors that are more directed at our daily relationships so that we also need to see it very well in order to avoid worse things and also things that smell of fraud. Because when you are wrong in socializing or wrong in choosing friends to hang out with, it can also cause bad things to happen and we will never find meaningful insight development for ourselves. In addition, do not easily trust every new person who appears in your life so that you are not easily fooled by anyone in your life environment.

Social environment may not be enough or it depends if what type of people are there because what if the people that are there are also less knowledgeable and only talks about nonsense? We still can't learn any valuable lessons from them. The issue is more on personal, though I think you got a point that economic conditions can also influence it because if the economic conditions are not good, that can also mean that there are less jobs available and the pay rates for them are only less.

The prices of the goods are also increasing, etc... so people are becoming desperate of finding a better solution to this problem that they can end up joining shady groups, or can get trapped on it easily (this one is not intentional). You mentioned emotion there but this is still related to it. I mean if only things are already much better, the emotions of the people are also much stable and better as well, making them to decide the right things only.

Fraud is not new and it started actually in the offline world because there are still no internet back in time but now that we have it and almost all of us are relying on it, no wonder why there are now lots of frauds as you said. We can still use the internet to gain more knowledge and counter them.

Forget Crypto, People without knowledge are getting scammed in the old banking system every single day. Credit Card Scams, Loan Scams, and what not.
Crypto requires a little bit knowledge and safety of your coins which in the normal banking system, a bank does it for you.

That's what I think. It is not that there are many fools in crypto is that there are many in the world, although I would not call them so, but rather naive people or with little information or greedy, or a combination of these things. Also with cryptocurrencies as they are more technically sophisticated and because of their characteristics, such as they can be transferred instantly and can be easily lost track of, they are an ideal space for scams.

It is undeniable that there are still many people who are stupid in this industry, I also often witness it firsthand when I see my friends cheated and lose their money quite easily in this investment, buying tokens that are not clear because they follow influencers and so on is still rampant, but I think it's still early because some people need awareness so as not to act rashly, especially when talking about the vast and challenging world of finance in this era, crypto is an asset that is very innovative and still in the adoption stage, so the advantages are still blind in the eyes of the general public, and there is no direct education in providing gradual understanding to the public by the authorities.

Bad habits and investors who don't understand bitcoin and crypto, they are puppets. I like OP's thinking, but basically in society outside or anywhere, we also realize that they still cheat each other, so can not change the nature, greed, ignorance,... can admit that the reality will not change by people in both daily life or in investment business.

I'm going to capitalize on lack of knowledge. Most people are not knowledgeable about how this scam project operates, how they package their products and make it look so real and convincing, so they end up falling for it. Then you know they don't do proper research because it looks so real, they just go on and invest, they just go on and join the project and end up losing the little money they have.
And yes, gread too, I agree with that, some people even when they are told that this project looks like a scam, because they've calculated the return on investment, they go ahead and do it, when they calculate it and see that it's going to yield a lot, they go ahead and do it, out of greed, out of getting more.

So people need to learn how to calm down, research on project, ask questions before hoping on it. Like the moment you perceive any form of red flag, it is worth researching on. Another thing that causes people to fall for these scams is their current financial standpoint. The economy is not favoring some people, so they don't even take the time to do this research, they just go with the flow of who is going to give me money, is going to help elevate my situation, so they just go ahead and do it out of a point og desperation.

But it's always good, no matter what point you are standing in, broke, comfortable, financially stable, to always research on any product, so you won't fall for these scams, because more keep coming out daily, and we have to be careful

Not only in crypto, ignorant people and inexperienced people are scammed in many other places.
Those who are after easy money are trapped and their little savings are lost despite being poor.
I see it as a natural cause and effect, so it is not the system's fault, but the people's fault that they did not directly target crypto or other investment vehicles.
People should also make mistakes in order to better understand and learn. :)

Knowledge is power. And scammers are very intelligent; they can do everything to scam people, and that is why regardless of what you are doing, whether in the crypto space or outside the crypto, try and be knowledgeable about it. However, many of these people get scammed because they don’t have the knowledge of what they got scammed of, and since scammers can operate even in the physical banks, you can see that crypto that is digital is a small thing and an easier way to even do it.

The best thing is to keep what you have safe, whether crypto investment or any other things that you know scammers hunt; furthermore, even in developed countries, scamming can take place. The thing is just knowledge, whether poor or developed country. If there is knowledge, you won’t be scammed.

We do know that not all people are investors or getting used to on how this market works or simply on the system and due to that lack of knowledge then they would really be that simply get victimized by those

If you do saw about those pros and cons and potential problems that you might faced on, then you do really put up yourself at least be wary into the conditions that you are really that be into. It will really be that impossible that you cant be able to determine on whats wrong and whats right. This is where there are really people who do able to avoid up such things on getting scammed or losing money just because they've been wary about those probabilities
and despite of being a newbie then this is really that a good initial step to make at least.

Scam everywhere, a few people rented a house and wanted a sea view.
They put a sea view but what a scam, and the seller is smiling. ;D
As you said, there are many scammers who trigger the wrong mindset.

The scam that is currently in this whole social media is very dangerous because people who thought of working online with hard work, these people eat their money because it is not hard work and people's money by dreaming big are eaten If this thing is not present then everyone can work online with hard work and efforts.  Due to this, many people are afraid to invest money lest we get scammed. in this journey, good and righteous people are also found who have good work, but they do not believe in anyone and are unemployed.  Now scams are everywhere, they give anything for nothing and take real money.  If you want to avoid it, take help from your close ones, if they have a job in which you will not be harmed, they will definitely help you. now these people have made it their business that this is what we will do after today and they will get the result later.

Lack of proper orientation is what contribute to these kind of scams and it has nothing to do with poor countries or big countries. Scam can come in any form and people that are not inform about the information can be a victim. Even people that has money invested in crypto becomes victim from this kind of scam but there own is packaged in the way they wouldn't suspect and once they click on links, they lose everything and their wallet becomes drain in a matter of second.

I urge us to invest in knowledge as we are investing in crypto because there is no ignorance excuse in crypto. Even the people that are carrying out scams in crypto invested on their knowledge and then repackage it in a way to lure victims do their bid and once they set trap for you and you successfully accepted it, then be ready to fall for them and lose everything you have on your possession even if you might not have anything to invest in crypto for that time.

There are still many who fall for these kinds of scams, it really comes down to a lack of knowledge. As they say, it's just easy money or HYIP. Even though regulations are getting tighter, some still manage to slip through, and most of these scams happen in poor countries.

It is also important to not overestimate ourselves, because even if we know a great deal of the tactics that a scammer can employ against us, we are not infallible, so if the circumstances are right we may walk right into their trap without really knowing what we are doing and lose our money to them, and then we may wonder how this may have happened to us, so it should be clear that anyone can become the victim of a scam if at the time they are not careful about how they deal with the scammer right in front of them.

Sometimes that's the reason why someone involved in the crypto space needs to have a community. They can come to forums and ask questions about something they doubt, ask in telegram groups or any other discussion space, of course this way they can get information and avoid fraud attempts. But greed has sometimes led them to try and fall victim, even when they know that there is a potential scam that is targeting them.

In the end, fraudsters don't always target weak people with little knowledge, they also target strong people with the right knowledge. Fraudsters are intelligent people and have many ways of carrying out their actions, so it is not surprising that they sometimes succeed in making rich, knowledgeable people their victims.

The people that taught them how to invest in bitcoin might not really be able to help them, because most times it is not the fault of the teacher because I'm the process of them wanting to explore they might ignore majority of the problems and that is were most of their problems are coming from. And another thing is that if worst thing is trying your best not to be a victim of scam so you just have to be very careful starting from who you bring in and who you expose things to. And if you choose the friends that have the same mindset with you then you will have a positive outlook of what you are investing not friends thay will just make you make reckless decisions so their is a lot of things that are happening in that environment because people are making money and people are losing money the same time. Especially when it comes to crypto you will have to make some decisions so as to protect yourself from being caught in a unforeseen situation. Have Ideas like this will help you a lot.

there are a lot of fools who get blinded by greed and crypto just being misused by scammers.

most of these scams always target vulnerable people who don't really know how investment works and easily get fooled by the blinding high APR promises.
these scam project also don't even use real crypto, they just trying to use the technology name to give people impression as if the project is legit and uses cutting edge tech, which is not true at all.

so many of these scams project as I've noticed, trying to offer a token or coin, that said to replace bitcoin, but it's not even real token or coin with its own blockchain, it's just fake coin or token that uses SQL as a database ;D to keep track.

That's to be expected, I mean there's still a lot of people out there that don't know shit about cryptocurrency in general and with how evolved we are when it comes to financial decisions in the last decade, a lot more people are eager to get their hands on passive income or extra income these days and so when there's a venture or opportunity that allows them to do so, I do think that it's perfectly understandable why a lot of people are falling for these types of scams, I guess that the incessant information drive on new types of scams and old scams dressed in a different way is still our best bet when it comes to preventing more and more people getting scammed by this kind of stupid schemes.
