Title: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: DYOR+BTC on September 15, 2024, 03:53:02 PM I came across this post online today, indicating the love Portugal has for Cristiano Ronaldo to the extent of using his identity in a coin.
How doe it feels like to see your image being used in a currency while you are still alive? because most people don't live to see such great respect. So what do you guys think about this. source link (https://www.elfutbolero.us/news/it-was-leaked-what-cristiano-ronaldos-coin-will-be-like-and-the-denomination-it-will-have-20240913-42808.html) Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! I want to first of all state that this isn't a gambling related topic..more of a sports topic therefore do not be surprised if the mods move this topic to the off-topic board. Well, if they do I'll still state my opinion here. Cristiano Ronaldo has paid his dues . Even the other day, I say him celebrating 1 billion followers across all social media platform. It is a big deal and he paid for it in blood sweat tears, therefore seeing his image on a coin is an awesome feeling which I would feel too if I were in his shoes. How doe it feels like to see your image being used in a currency while you are still alive? because most people don't live to see such great respect. I didnt saw how real design of this coin is going but I dont think anyone will use it for any payments. People love him in Portugal but I think this is to much for someone who is still alive. https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/09/15/BOFCC.jpeg Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: Dr.Bitcoin_Strange on September 16, 2024, 10:17:25 AM Who has seen the coin? I found an image from on to know how the coin design is and that above image is what I found. Cristiano Ronaldo is a big name and it's indeed a great honor that his image was added because he has actually brake a lot of records. I am also guessing that sooner or later, some project developers might want to create a digital token in his name.
Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: Text on September 16, 2024, 02:58:47 PM What an incredible tribute! It's rare for someone to receive this level of recognition while they're still alive. Imagine seeing your image on a coin something that usually happens to people long after they're gone. It really shows the deep respect and admiration Portugal has for Ronaldo, not just as a footballer but as a national icon. Is it well-deserved, or do you think it’s too soon for such an honor?
Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: Upgrade00 on September 16, 2024, 04:50:17 PM I should point out that this is a fake news that somehow spread on Twitter and to some websites looking for clickbaits to attract users.
The Euro is not a local currency and as such Portugal cannot launch a unique legal tender of that currency through their own banks. Ronaldo is undoubtedly a legend and does not need a custom coin to buttress that. Maybe we can have a collectible coin which his fans can buy with the unique number 7 in the future. Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: bitbollo on September 16, 2024, 05:18:36 PM @Upgrade00 I don't know if this is true or not (No check done) but a 5 euro coin has been launched here in Italy dedicated to a famous singer (Vasco Rossi). THese coins can be used as legal tender, of course due low mintage and interest in collection no one will use for pay a kebab...
After this coin has been launche the price literally has a strong pump (even 1000%). I don't know if Portugues like so much Ronaldo but this can become an interesting chance of collectible-investment ::) Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! How doe it feels like to see your image being used in a currency while you are still alive? because most people don't live to see such great respect. Cristiano Ronaldo is a persona who currently has a big influence in the world, not only in the sport of football, he can even influence the share price of Coca Cola, so it is not surprising to see that he is currently a currency model. But I wonder, the Euro is the entire currency of Europe, doesn't anyone object to this? And then, what should we discuss from this? we are currently on the gambling board which should discuss matters related to gambling. No it wont be legal tender if it actually does happen. Its more of a commemorative medal that a coin. Its hard to decypher if this is actually happening or if it is indeed just clickbait. I saw this image below on facebook and there are 4 different designs which look to be AI generated, and badly at that. They all seem to be Bronze, if some authority in this in Portugal were actually doing it would expect to see Gold or at least Silver. I think indeed this could be nonsense. Surely nobody could actually think these are real? https://talkimg.com/images/2024/09/16/BlQhG.jpeg Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Collectible coins, on the other hand, have different face value, and they are also legal tender, although as their cost is usually higher than their face value, they aren't used to pay with them. I guess that in Portugal they do something similar too, but it's clear that the images above are fake and/or created with AI. For example, Fifa Germany 2004 (https://www.filateliasuarez.com/tienda/details/20277/182/monedas/monedas-juan-carlos-i-euros/monedas-conmemorativas-fnmt-jci/ano-2003-moneda-10-euros-fifa-alemania-2006) has a face value of 10€ but it is sold at 70€, not only because it is a collectible, but because they usually cost that price if you buy them from the National Mint and Stamp Factory when they are minted: https://talkimg.com/images/2024/09/16/BlvV1.png Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: Pokapoka124 on September 16, 2024, 07:48:58 PM I really admire the gesture. I can only imagine how it will feel to have your face engraved on a coin as a football legend for your country. It is the highest recognition a player can get from his country. This shows the love Portugal has for Ronaldo. Even as a national football icon, not everyone gets this kind of respect. Ronaldo deserves it, he has done so much in representing his country and putting the name of his nation in the records.
Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: alani123 on September 16, 2024, 08:45:17 PM It's funny that Central Banks need to go to these lengths to acquire some cash from silly collectors. Every bank is forced to pass all their transactions through them, and yet this is what central banks resort to these days to support their operations? Marketing products to collectors and football fans?
I'd much rather see issuances like these from independent organizations or the teams themselves but there's so many collectors that cling to the idea of it being "official". One could hope that if the Euro loses its value that these could retain some collective value, but that's not certain either really. It's a matter of trust that not more were issues in the end of the day anyway. I think those that make the most profit are the ones who resell these instantly at the heat of the moment. Here we are, with the government of Portugal honoring Cristiano Ronaldo in such a remarkable manner because of the record-breaking heights he has achieved in his football career. This is very lovely Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: Ojima-ojo on September 16, 2024, 10:31:52 PM You have to do some extra digging to get the true fact about this news, because this is not the first time, a coin is being related to Christina Ronaldo, sometimes ago there was crisis when a coin that was designed and acclaimly promoted by CR7 turn out to be a scam, so before you take this new seriously, make sure to do your own research.
But on a general note, if his nation decide to honour the star player, then there is nothing wrong with it but in a situation where this could be aim and target investors, then I will say everyone should just trade with caution, to avoid being victims of another possible scam. To Cristiano Ronaldo, it is a great testament to the love and respect he earns-not only as a player, but also as a world champion. To have one's face displayed on a coin when that coin is in circulation is not something that happens every day. For me it says much about the influence and affection people have for coins. This is a unique way to monumentalize his legacy. and recognize his contributions to sports and beyond. You're getting to a good place to confirm that news. It would be pretty reasonable to dig into each and every nook and cranny. Especially with prior experience in CR7-themed coins and a scam possibly lurking around the corner. Although giving Cristiano Ronaldo a reward in cash would surely be an incredible realization of the gesture when it finally comes. Still, though, it's not worth paying attention if there aren't enough related financial interests covered by law. And always better to be careful and aware with such situations so that I won't be victimized when fraud happens. Thanks to such reminders! To be bestowed with such an honor as this whilst he was still alive would be just special and shows that Portugal values his contributions. Excellent to see a person of so much repute get such appreciation over talent and great contribution. This is a celebration of his exceptional work and inspiration to so many. Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: ajanwalker on September 17, 2024, 05:16:36 AM I think Ronaldo deserves all the praise. He is currently a living legend in Portugal, but I don't know if it makes sense to print money for him.
So will this money be in circulation in the country? Will it be used for shopping or will it just remain as a souvenir? Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: fruktik on September 17, 2024, 05:43:02 AM Story of this coins reminded me on that weird strange head statue of Cristiano Ronaldo that was made few years ago :D Why is he so weird and scary? Couldn't they have made him a little more realistic and beautiful? He looks like a character from a horror movie. The sculptor was clearly not in the mood. It's hard to say that he was a fan of Ronaldo. )) I still laugh when I look at this photo. He's just a beginner artist, damn. ) How did they treat the idol of millions of people like that? It's not nice to do that.I didnt saw how real design of this coin is going but I dont think anyone will use it for any payments. To be honest, this is the first time I've heard of such a thing. Yes, of course, all countries know him, but Portugal has distinguished itself in this regard. What's next? Will they erect a huge monument to him while he's still alive? I wouldn't be surprised if such an event happens soon. Title: Re: Portugal has launched a 7 Euro Coin to honor Cristiano Ronaldo! Post by: ethereumhunter on September 17, 2024, 08:49:42 AM That will give proud to me because not many people will get that opportunity so they will show to other what their achievement. Maybe Ronaldo will be proud too like what we feel because that is rare to see someone identity in a coin and Ronaldo is one of that people. If that is a gold coin, maybe that will be worth for a collector because that is a famous person in a football so they will want to spends their money to have it.
I like these 4 four image of CR7 than the other one. https://iili.io/d6n36Zv.png It gives a macho image for CR7. And yes, Ronaldo deserves for that after what he did in football. Has Christina Ronaldo done something for Portugal that should made him so iconic to the extent that his face should appear on the money Portugal is spending? In my country, people on the notes are mostly politicians that have died. I do not know what is used to consider him to be worth it but I also do not think he worths it for now. He may later worth to be on on the coin but I do not think it worths it for now. Although, I am not in Portugal and I am not a Portuguese. So my opinion may not be totally right. So will this money be in circulation in the country? Will it be used for shopping or will it just remain as a souvenir? |
