Title: Help request - PSA Coin Slab Weight Needed
Post by: ChiBitCTy on September 26, 2024, 03:46:10 AM
Could someone do me a big favor and weigh a PSA coin slab, of course if you’ve got one with a coin that you know the weight on.  I’m finding conflicting info on google so figured I’d ask here as I know some regulars to this sub will have one.

It’s much appreciated!!

give me a second i have one with a titan tenth in it and i have a titan tenth not slabbed

oh wait nvm - you want psa slab. i dont have psa slabbed coins. if their coin ones are like the card ones, there are several versions and several weights.

the stands I make for PSA slabbed cards have multiple versions to accommodate different thicknesses of the slabs.

The slabs are actually PCGS slabs with a PSA insert.
They are part of the same company, so it would make sense to do something like this

PSA and PCGS are related companies? Dang and I thought I was pretty in the know on the grading companies. Chibitcy and I were just discussing this subject the other day & how we were surprised that PSA never did their own coin slabbing and come to find out they have been the whole time I just didn't know it!!

They are both part of Collectors Universe, which is the parent company to PSA, PCGS, WATA Games (game grading) and now Goldin Auctions

Similarly, NGC is part of the same company as PMG (note grading) and CGC (comic and magazine grading)
