Ohh, I didn't see that... But that's not a translation. This is an official translation as requested by the host of the contest. The AOBT  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5442314.0) members were requested to translate the contest thread to our local boards.. if the previous thread was a full translation I would have moved mine to the off topic board..

Nice job bro, Actually the previous topic that was created was not originally a translation, just a quote. But you have translated the whole topic which is beneficial for our all members. How is your preparation going to join this contest? :D

Can we expect any member from the Nigeria (Naija) board to be among the 8 winners.

Okay for that reason I've locked and moved the older quoted thread to the off-topic sub-board to avoid having a duplicate thread on the main board. This type of translation can be allowed on the main board cause it somewhat useful and to create awareness for the community to compete in the contest.

It does not matter what local board you belong to- I haven't checked the requirements to participate but it doesn't cost much to participate, but getting a good pumpkin is, I tried to join last year edition but couldn't get a good looking pumpkin to cave. Lol

Our own Naija Pumpkin and Oyibo man own no be the same lol, as a Naija man, I no sure if I don ever see that red pumpkin before self. Else I would’ve really love to participate in the contest, I don’t think I’ve ever participated in any contest in the forum before and since this one involves Artistry and Carving, I would’ve really love to participate since I’m a lover of artistic expressions.

I don’t know if it’ll be possible to order for stuffs like that on Jumia, eBay or any of these online markets, I’ll check first and if I’m still not lucky, then I’ll just wait and prepare for the next one.

Omo.. this price is really tempting, of which even if na 2nd or 3rd one come out for that contest, na still better money when converted into our Nigerian currency, and I'm happy the reward is to be shared even to the 8th winner whose pumpkin goes well. However, there is still enough time, as I wish to take part in this contest later alone the line. However, one clue I will like to give those who will wish to take part in this contest will be for them to go study the pumpkin art style of the people that won last year, and take inspiration from it to create their own unique pumpkin. This advise will go a long way.

Goto Fruit garden market Port Harcourt. Rivers State. That's where you can find any kind of fruit, vegetables and all that. I don't know any other locations yet. There are pumpkins there.

Fruit garden market...
Even if I were to make it to the market, I doubt I'll be able to see the kind of pumpkin that's needed for  the contest, since it's not widely grown around here (Naija). I don't even think I've ever seen that kind of pumpkin before, (except of course in the movies) :D
Since a proposal has already been made for Nigerians to use a watermelon instead, which of course is very accessible around here, so hopefully I'll be able to participate if the proposal is considered.

Not all foods eaten in Nigeria are cultivated locally; most are imported, such as most pumpkins in Nigeria, and keep in mind that most of the pumpkins used in Halloween are artificially made for the occasion, rather than actual pumpkins grown on the farm, which is why they are the perfect size and shape. You won't see a perfectly shaped pumpkin, but you will definitely see something cavable.

The watermelon suggestion will not be approved; this is a contest for those who can get pumpkin, and it not necessary that you participate. Dey no dey use watermelon for Halloween  ;D

True but  then again, these pumpkins are perishable, if they're not bought quickly, they could decay and perish easily. Besides such vegetables are not in high demands in Nigeria, you don't see people buy stuffs like that everyday, in fact you rarely see people in need of them hence importation of such vegetables would be really affected, the only time you find people talking about these set of pumpkins is on special occasions like the Halloween season (which isn't majorly observed here) or in situations like this, you'd barely see people go for these stuffs on normal circumstances.

And about Artificially made pumpkins, would've been great if the contest permitted the use of artificial pumpkins, but unfortunately, the rule strictly stated that Only real pumpkins qualify . Maybe we go just gats accept the fact say this contest no be for we Naija people wey dey also base for the country.

Thanks for the correction. I was thinking of how to get an artificial pumpkin so I can participate in the contest. That would have ended badly for me, I will have to pass on this contest. There are other contests in the forum but this one is not for Nigerians living in the motherland, our people in diaspora are the only ones who can participate in this competition. If anyone from this local board is able to go through the trouble to make a bitcoin pumpkin, you deserve merits from me.

Do you mean this? ;D lol it's funny how we only have to use real pumpkins for the contest. I would really had loved to participate in it as the price is really big. But even if someone tries to go through this many stress, how sure are you that he will win... Like some contest in the past, the voting system is kinda lame... You see how some people gets to win because of influence on the forum.. just imagine someone who has a lot of friends here on the forum and they all vote for him even if his submission is not even close to fine... Lol I'm just saying though.. but yes. I'm with you on this.. who ever goes through the stress I'll dump some merit for them as well. E no easy..
