Title: Prod Yahoo! into adding BTCUSD symbol to Yahoo! Finance/charts.
Post by: Stephen Gornick on December 20, 2011, 06:59:08 AM
Yahoo! says they appreciate our comments.  So I provided to them this comment:

Please add Bitcoin currency to the list of currencies tracked.  Here's why:

1.) Bitcoin is the most widely traded digital currency out there.
2.) Bitcoin trades freely against the Dollar, Euro, Yen and over a dozen other currencies so is of interest globally -- not from just any one region.
3.) The sources for the data from the exchanges are free.
4.) Beat Google!   Google does not yet offer this currency (e.g., http://www.google.com/finance?q=btcusd )
5.) Beat Bloomberg!   Bloomberg terminals feature the digital currency Ven from Hub Culture, which trades just a tiny fraction of the volume that Bitcoin does.
6.) Finance professionals already track Bitcoin, using tools such as SierraChart: http://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Sierra_Chart_MtGox_Bridge
