Shouldn't it be somewhat simple but not to obstruct?

I suggest not using strait lines (as in above), but rather putting the coins in a circle to show "world" and the coins represent "freedom."

Just, a suggestion.

I actually really like that last one. Would just need to use the same gray in the coin (maybe a few shades off) instead of that background white-stripe and would look really good. Unfortunately, I didn't make this contest; I'm only giving out suggestions. :D

Just leave your client running (making sure you're connected to at least 6-8 nodes), or check your web client (if you are using one such as Mt.Gox) and it will show up.
Looks like there is currently only 3 confirmations.

I dislike all of them. The color scheme is all wrong. I think it should be gold, blue, and have a silver colored bitcoin logo (from satoshis' client, but not gold, silver)

I agree, no offense but those designs above are a little plain. Looks like it was done in MS Paint. (Please dont take that personally)

They are to be made onto flags (from what I can remember). For the simplicity, they are good. Are they not?

Here's a design I came up with:

https://i.imgur.com/3KwF4.png

I actually put some thought into the bars in the circle....  they can be seen as a "B", a "T", and a "C".  They also represent a person with outstretched arms.  They also represent North and South America on the globe (circle).

You made a flag representing North and South America for a demonstration in Russia ::)

No. No. That symbolizes nothing. Sorry, try again.

What text do you think is better

Vires In Numeris
Strength In Numbers
In Cryptography We Trust
The People's Currency
No Banks, No Borders

or..  bitcoin.org

or.. a combination?

I like this. Good job.

WHAT IF you put a few of those quotes in the background written in 7 bit binary ASCII.
Just a thought 'cuz I really like them quotes.

"In cryptography we trust"

The rest has the following issues:

Vires In Numeris - I don't know what it means when I look at it. It reminds me of Latin religious quotes.
Strength In Numbers - Sounds like a worker's revolution. While Bitcoin is a bit of that, I don't think we should focus solely on that.
The People's Currency - Like the people's republic of China? Better not.
No Banks, No Borders - Hmm. This is okay. Bit bland, maybe.
or..  bitcoin.org - This can be on there, but not just this. Most people won't visit the website then. You need some message.

"In cryptography we trust" definitely is the broadest most agreed upon general statement about Bitcoin.

I like the ASCII idea, you could also do binary?

I'm gonna blow my nerd cred on this but, isn't ASCII encoding in binary generally at 8 bits per character?

Generally, yes, but there are other encodings, inluding 7-bit encoding.

I only suggested 7 bit so more quotes could be included, but I'm sure there's other option of more text is desired.

I really like the "no banks, no borders" as well.
I think it would be nice to see 'em both.

OK here are 2 more versions:

http://bitcointrading.com/img/flag3.jpg

I changed the font, and put the binary in the back, once decoded, says "in cryptography we trust" twice.

I like the second one.

Maybe make the coin like half the size? Should it be covering up the whole flag?

What if the binary said "Honest Banking Without Borders"?

I just like the idea of having something cryptic that needs some explaining.
It makes it more interesting to share with people.

Very good job BTW. If that was the final version I would still be happy with it.

kk coin is a bit smaller, added a bit of a black border to the text.

Sweet! If this were in production as a real flag, I would buy it!

The black background is great because it gives it a slight "pirate" aspect that associates it with black markets, etc.

This is my favorite thus far, only maybe more of a gold color/gradient for the btc maybe and a bit smaller might be nice.

I also changed the O's in the bitcoin.org to match the zero's in the binary, looks better than the rhombus-looking o's.

It definitely needs an outline. I like the stroke outline better than the glow. The no banks no borders works well. So, I'd go with flag 9 :)

thanks Yankee!! :D :D it was just a quick mockup on the flag pole, i noticed a couple blems where some white lines were showing somehow, looks like photoshop did some minor tearing but i got some good ideas to expand the flag pole thing :)

awesome!!  you have no idea how PROUD I am to have designed the bitcoin flag!!  I will up/downscale it to whatever dimensions req'd and provide the .psd for it as well!  and it will be released as public domain rights/free usage!

For the record, I didn't organize the contest. Sorry for giving that impression… But I do think that's the general sentiment here.

Edit: If you don't win the contest, I'll throw you a bitcoin :)
