My Bitmain T21 190th miner stopped mining and shows a Warning Info: Warning code J1:2 "Check whether chain1 connection is normal, update the firmware to the latest version, replace the hashboard, or return to factory for repair" I update the firmware, rebooted several time the miner the power 3phase is ok (over 226V / Phase) Does somebody knows how to fix this issue ? If not, try it first since that is what the error says and it seems it detects abnormally; there might be something that interrupts the connection between the control board and chain1 hashboard. If you can post the whole logs here, we can maybe find the reason that caused this issue. Usually you can find these kernel logs under the system tab. If you have a limit posting the whole kernel logs here you can use pastebin.com and post the link here. https://altairtech.io/product/epic-umc/ it has a lot of features and it will bypass a dead board. that is if your board is dead. You can unscrew these sheets and use sandpaper to clean out the terminal and copper sheet to ensure that they are in contact, and make sure to screw them properly and test it again. Also, try to test one by one all hashboard by removing other hashboard from the case and connect only one hashboard to test. Check if there's changes on the kernel logs if one of these hashboard detects normally, then the other hashboard might be shorted that causes the other hashboard to detect zero ASIC. I'd also like you to try to boot it with other OS like Braiins OS and remove all hashboard and let only the control board run with the PSU and check the voltage. Let's see if there's no voltage flow if the multimeter shows no power then you have a dead PSU. You can unscrew these sheets and use sandpaper to clean out the terminal and copper sheet to ensure that they are in contact, and make sure to screw them properly and test it again. Also, try to test one by one all hashboard by removing other hashboard from the case and connect only one hashboard to test. Check if there's changes on the kernel logs if one of these hashboard detects normally, then the other hashboard might be shorted that causes the other hashboard to detect zero ASIC. I'd also like you to try to boot it with other OS like Braiins OS and remove all hashboard and let only the control board run with the PSU and check the voltage. Let's see if there's no voltage flow if the multimeter shows no power then you have a dead PSU. The control asked for the power and the psu did not deliver it. He has a dead PSU. 90% sure. Thank you all for your time and ideas :D good luck, but it is : 95% a bad psu 4% a short in a board that kills the psu 1% a bad controller and a new unit won't let you test a single board to see if it is a short. using the epic controller you can disable 1 board or 2 boards. on any s19 or s21 or t19 or t21. then you can see if a bad board is hurting the psu. you should buy this https://altairtech.io/product/apw11-aircooled-psu/ and this https://altairtech.io/product/epic-umc/ you should install the new psu and the new controller . you should fire it up and make sure only 1 board has the data wire connected once you access the gui you should click disable and shut down the two boards. once that works. fire up one more board and connect the data cable once that works fire up the 3rd board and connect the data cable. you will then have 3 working boards. which would mean the psu burned out. look at this epic running a 1 board s19 it only has 1 board set to work https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/12/24/Djf2c.png buying a new miner like you want will let you switch the controller and I am 99% sure the old one won't work because it is almost certainly not a controller issue. so once you switch in the controller. and it does not work and it is the stock controller you won't be able to disable the boards like the epic can. So the best you can do is pull two white data cables on two boards. and test again. if the issue is a board short the pus will try to work but bitmain firmware does not let you run 1 or 2 boards. So you would need to put in braiins which may or may not work or put in vnish which may or may not work. Even if you become certain that the psu died for unknown reasons by buy-in a new t21 you have 2 miners and 1 psu. but what ever you do I wish you could luck fixing it. please let us know if you figure out what was dead and get it fixed. It sounds like you have a shorted board. put in 1 board physically pull the other two boards. and run the epic controller it will tell you what board do not work mark them off as disabled. eventually you will isolate the dead board this way if you do 1 at a time. once you know what board is dead leave it in with no data cable and put a piece on non conductor under the power terminals of that board. I think the bad hashboard is grounding something . So no data cable and do terminal connection should get rid of the grounding. I have had this same issue with several of my T21's (powered from Bitmain 12-way PDU). The issue turned out to be bad connections on the back of the sockets in the PDU, which allows for one phase to drop over time / vibration etc. The miner still powers up but displays the exact same error message you are getting, and finds 0 ASICS in the kernel log - which throws you off the scent, so to speak. If you power down, pull out the socket that is powering the problematic miner, you will most likely find a loose connection on the back - or pin that is not properly seated in the socket. Or just try swapping sockets / leads over with a different one first. The issue is that at the other location where the miners where "faulty" the 3phase grid is not in the normal "rotation order to the right" ( L1 L2 L3 400V). I am waiting for a measuring tool (20$) that shows the correct order for the 3phase grid. Phasing only affects motor rotation direction.
That said, what certainly CAN screw up things is what kind of 3-phase power it is - 'real' 3 phase where all legs are the same voltage when referenced to each other and to the neutral or what is usually called 'Wild leg' 3-phase where the leg-to-leg voltage is the same but leg-to-neutral voltages are different. ref https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-leg_delta Wild leg is fairly common in residential and light commercial areas that do not have many companies that require true 3-phase power to run heavy equipment using large motors. Query: how many pins are on the AC input socket? 4 pins would be 3+gnd meaning 3 hot legs w/no neutral connection which is the ideal setup or 5 pins (4+gnd which is 3 hot legs & neutral). The T21 PDU has 6 sockets 3 groups of 2 pairs ex: 1-> L1 L2 L3 2 -> L1 L2 L3 3-> L2 L3 L1 4-> L2 L3 L1 5-> L3 L1 L2 6-> L3 L1 L2 So the order of the phases doesn't matter, 2 T21 are working perfect on 2 different sockets. They are grouped like this because you can buy an adapter from 5 pins to 3 pins so you can connect a S21 and in this way you will always pull a live wire from a different phase. BUT, At the other location i have L1 L2 L3 N PE and still doesn't work any miner :)) (all phases are in correct order "to the right") each phase has over 220V N is ok On the stock firmware i still have : Warning code J1:2 "Check whether chain1 connection is normal, update the firmware to the latest version, replace the hashboard, or return to factory for repair" And on the other T21 i have Braiins and has PSU issues there.
