Is it possible to get a new address to deposit bitcoin to on Binance? I try to avoid using the same address too many times, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change addresses on Binance.

No, it is not possible.

But you have two bitcoin addresses on Binance. One address is a legacy address while the other address is segwit. The legacy address start with 1 while the segwit address start with bc1.

This is how most exchanges are. Most give only one address which you can not be able to change.

IMO Binance does not let users change deposit addresses on their own because of regulations.


I think OP already knows that he does not want to use any address too many times.

There is no need to contact the support about this. They are not going to help him than him to be satisfied with using just the addresses the exchange gives him. If he wants to use many address, he can consider using OKX. He can generate many bitcoin address on OKX. Both the legacy that start with 3 and segwit but they are multisig.

I was looking on internet to find a answer for you. It seems the answer is NO, unless Binance upgrade its wallet infrastructure. They do it time to time. There are no certain time but when they will do then you will be given a new address.

This does not still solve the problem. I have seen Binance done this only once before since I have been using the exchange since 2020. It does not affected the legacy address but only the segwit address was changed. I think that was last year or in 2023. OP wants how it is done on noncustodial wallet.

It is a privacy concern to not be able to change your deposit address but that is how many exchanges function today. To keep some privacy you can try as much as possible to only transact from one particular address to your exchange address. Using multiple of your addresses linked to your exchange connects all of those addresses and allow tracking.

Isolate a single address for the exchange and use that for as many exchanges as you use. 1 (different) unique address for each exchange you use.

Using other exchanges like Bybit, it's allowing users to change their BTC addresses from time to time. I'm not just sure if it's unlimited times but that's what I've seen with my account in there. If that's the main concern that you're trying to get into, that's the solution that you can do, to use another one. If Binance is allowed in your country, then it's likely that other exchanges like what I've mentioned is prolly also allowed.

I'm no longer a Binance user, and it's also banned in my country, so I can't try these steps I found on the internet. I'm not sure if this is indeed a feature available on Binance or if this is only related to their implementation of retiring deposit addresses. But it says you can actually change your deposit address.

1. Go to the Deposit Crypto page or tap Deposit on the Binance app
2. Select the network to view your deposit addresses
3. Claim a new deposit address or edit the deposit address book
4. Select a deposit address and proceed to deposit"

I'm thinking it's possible they share the same BTC Address Book feature with Bybit in which you can have multiple BTC deposit addresses. I might be wrong, of course.

I can confirm that I can change the address also in Bybit. Also just as I posted before, it can also be done on OKX.

About Binance, maybe it is different from country to country. The address can not be changed on the Binance app that I am using. I also made the research and this is what I found:

OP can check if his Binance app supports it or not.

Thanks for confirming. I guess this is where Binance is left behind. If other exchanges or even crypto casinos and betting sites can offer this feature, why can't they, right? It should be made basic. Or perhaps this is indeed offered in selected jurisdictions. At least OP has options in case he/she isn't allowed to have multiple Bitcoin deposit addresses on Binance. Bybit and OKX aren't bad alternatives, anyway.

This procedure that you just shared works only on Etherem and other similar networks like BNB smart chain, Artbitrum etc but unfortunately not for bitcoin. And if its not available in EU, I doubt its available in any other region.

I remember seeing some article quite a long time ago on Binance that they plan to support the same thing for other blockchains as well, but so far nothing.

I have gone to check it and you are correct that it is available for some coins. I saw it when I go for ethereum and Binanace coin addresses. But this is very stupid of Binance if they have it for altcoins but not have it for bitcoin. Even those altcoins wallets support just one address while you can get a bitcoin wallet and use as many as possible addresses. This makes me not to even think in that direction that it would be opposite on Binance. Binance has been the only exchanges I have seen this absurd thing.

I have contacted Binance CS regarding this. It is confirmed that you can not change your Bitcoin wallet address in Binance. Here is the SS of my chat;

Yep, I see no reason why they enabled that for altcooins while its not available for bitcoin. I would maybe understand if that is practice among all centralized exchanges, but many others have that option so it can't be a technical reason for it. The only thing I can think of is that's because some regulation crap, but then again Coinbase (afaik) which is heavily regulated also has that option so that woulnd;t make much sense either.

;D I always try to confirm the information on my own whenever I can. Actually, I asked a couple of times but their AI chatbot was a mess, it kept telling me how to change ' residential address ;D'. So when finally a human came to solve my problem and told me that 'we are going to add more networks' I decided that I was done ;D.
You have a good point though I should have specifically asked for the reason and probably could have tried to convince him to change their policy  ;D ;D. (Ideally).

it's either laziness, or the code they are using for thier bitcoin wallets system is spaghetti, and are afraid to break it.

even if you did try, i don't think the support agent is paid enough to care about it.
their job is already being replaced bit by bit with those useless AI chatbots :-\

As far as I know, Binance will carry out an update to change users' addresses automatically, I don't remember how many years they do that, in essence, since using the Binance exchange, there has only been an address change once, It didn't happen because of a request or other reason, when I logged in and clicked deposit my address had changed, why there was a change I couldn't find the reason, I only found a notification from email.

I think the address can be changed from the old one to the new one, if Binance which operates in certain regions has certain options.

How would a virtual assistant who is working at home far away from the nearest Binance office know? I bet the why isn't in his/her script and, as a mere chat support, he/she wouldn't speculate either.

If it is neither technical nor regulatory, since other exchanges like Coinbase, Bybit, OKX, Kraken, Bitfinex, and even other Bitcoin-related platforms offer it, could it be that Binance simply doesn't care about its users' privacy and security and that Bitcoin addresses should in fact be single-use only? It's like they can do it and are allowed to do it, but what for?


Binance actually announced that it's part of their wallet infrastructure upgrade. Accordingly, such upgrade is for better efficiency and fund security.

I don’t dare to change wallet address with Binance. The last time they made an upgrade with their wallet that resulted to change address they strictly warned user to not deposit on old address or else fund will lost.

Unlike other exchange that accepts change address which you can still use the previous address to deposit in case you forgot that you updated your wallet address.

You aren't allowed to change address anyway, at least as far as Bitcoin is concerned. And whenever you're allowed to, you're actually required to. So, what choice do you have?

But, no, depositing to your old address doesn't mean you lose your funds. It's just that it won't be credited to your balance automatically. You have to manually do it. But your funds are safe. Or at least that's what they say.

Yeah, unfortunately, as has been discussed, you can't have a Bitcoin address book with Binance. You can't create a new address or shift from one used address to another. They're lagging behind their competitors as far as this feature is concerned.

You can't even change it yourself, only the exchange can change it during an upgrade. However, that warning is for people who save their exchange wallet address somewhere and only go there to get it when they want to deposit; it is recommended to always log in to your exchange account and get your wallet address whenever you want to deposit funds. Take note that the funds would not be lost, but you will have to contact support to have it processed.
