Title: Bitcoin reserve for our great nation.
Post by: SuperBitMan on January 16, 2025, 10:20:10 AM
Nigeria government has not officially adopted having a Bitcoin reserve, however there's News going round that there's an ongoing discourse among regulatory bodies regarding having a Bitcoin reserve and they are deliberating about the potential benefits and challenges of having a bitcoin reserve as a nation.
Nigeria government should adopt having a Bitcoin reserve, with the way Bitcoin is going those nations that refused to have a Bitcoin reserve will regret when those that have will be enjoying the benefit, my lovely nation Nigeria has what it takes to have a Bitcoin reserve, the benefit of this reserve in the next 10 to 20 years can help fix a lot of issues which can be solved with finance.
El Salvador as a nation has already established a Bitcoin reserve In December 2024, there National Bitcoin Office announced a deposit exceeding $1 million into there reserve, in the next 10 years this reserve will generate more millions for them.
The united state president has also proposed having a Bitcoin reserve and in no time they will have there own, so also Brazil, Switzerland and Poland, no nation should be lift behind this is the time for Nigeria government to invest on this wonderful project, state and local government inside Nigeria can also get involve in this.

I no know if any African country don get official plans about Bitcoin reserve but I no go de surprised if something like dat no go de for dem agenda. I seriously doubt weda something like Bitcoin reserve de for di mind of our leaders, especially as blochchain de transparent for everybody to monitor where transactions de go. Make dem first start with a friendly regulations for cryptocurrency before we go de talk about Bitcoin reserve.

Most African countries like Nigeria, no go de among di first set of visionary countries to get Bitcoin reserve, na until e begin to de work for proactive countries before dem go see di need to deliberate weda dem go consider am. Hopefully if Donald Trump, implement Bitcoin reserve e go follow encourage oda countries wey no fit to make proactive decisions to wakeup and do di needful.

It will be really nice if Nigeria could have a Bitcoin reserve. But it can only happen if they understand the potential benefits of having a Bitcoin reserve. Though this method can only be adopted in our country after seeing the the great impact from other countries.

The government might want to study the process, and progress before taking part too, and there has to be a total acceptance, and agreement on cryptocurrency generally, before coming to conclusion about adopting this system.

If this idea works it will be one of the best thing that the tinubu administration will do because Bitcoin adoption of  Bitcoin is what has been overdue in the country because Nigeria needs to tap into the potential that Bitcoin adoption will has especially in the area of the economy because Bitcoin is expected to change the financial system of the world in the nearby future

If adoption of crypto currrency is achieved in Nigeria, Nigeria will be among the first class of countries in Africa that will join the leagues of progressive country that has made Bitcoin to become  legal their countries but the thing is politics and interest the Nigerian politicians that we know don't do things that will benefits the common man but only for their selfish intrest

I already made a thread about this when the reserve news was still fresh. Here - If the S.4912 - BITCOIN Act of 2024 is implemented, will Nigeria follow suit.... (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5519940.0)

The response i got made me understand that many of us here have lost hope in our country when it comes to Bitcoin adoption. If you notice a lot of persons are saying it cant happen, the government wont allow and so on.

However, i still insist to say that, even if the government does not participate in the Bitcoin reserve for the nation, big companies in the country can also buy Bitcoin for reserve, indirectly the money will still flow in the country. I see its is a society something, only few persons are still willing or are buying Bitcoin for long term in this country.

A construction company in Italy has adopted the Bitcoin reserve strategy, also the Ming shin group and so many other NGO. I expect big companies especially the tech companies in Nigeria should also adopt a Bitcoin reserve.

Nigerians have long lost trust in the government because of their shady activities. The government's planning on having Bitcoin as a national reserve is worth it, but the truth is that would the process be transparent? We have long heard of funny scenarios as they relate to funds and animals stealing from the treasury, and I hope they would not tell us that there is a possibility that a hacker has gotten the private keys from the traditionalist or spirits to have revealed the private keys to the bitcoin reserve wallet of the nation to a hacker to hack our bitcoin. This country is just too funny, though, and I would not doubt if we start to hear things of this nature after implementing Bitcoin as a national reserve.

It's a good idea for Nigeria to have Bitcoin reserves knowing the potentials that Bitcoin has for the economies of nations especially developing countries like Nigeria but our biggest problem is our government they are myopic and is not for sighted enough to see that Bitcoin is something that Nigeria can benefit from government is just against Bitcoin because they don't want Nigeria to progress beyond this level

With our population and number Nigeria is one country that surpose to be competing with the rest of the world among the best economies of the world but corruption will not allow us to have that because from the last government where binance where band i just know that our government doesn't want Nigerian to progress because allowing such companies will further increase the awareness of Bitcoin but as for having a Bitcoin reserve it's still a dream and vision that we need to pray for

Whatever that has to do with positivity, you’ll always find out great nation slagging and dragging their feet’s but when it comes to take silly decisions like changing the national anthem and currency colour, then watch them do it in less than 24 hours and most times, I just feel it’s a major shame on them and those corrupt leaders.

Over the time, I’ve seen our leaders as very corrupt and they only approve what they think they’ll have to gain from it before leaving office and having a bitcoin reserve might be a very difficult one since at the end of the day, the target would be 10 years and above which might not favour them as they might no longer be in active service to reap from it.

We ain’t actually have selfless leaders in our country and they’re all self centered and are only interested in what will different benefit them and not the country at large.

Personally, I believe thy, having a reserve will reduce the amount of debts in 5 years above.

You talk say there's an ongoing rumour about having a Bitcoin reserve in Nigeria. So before you create this topic, you suppose consider adding the link to wherever you read am from or else wetin you dey talk no go hold any ground.

Here are my thoughts on the issue:

Nigeria no get a clear path about crypto for we country. So I no dey reason this matter.

Adding Bitcoin to the nation balance sheet no mean say awa country go automatically become rich.

I no even know if na good idea sef because in terms of accountability awa own nah zero. We fit wake up one day them tell us say snake don swallow the Bitcoin and nothing go happen.
