Title: Attention! ADS Power hacked Post by: tvplus006 on January 25, 2025, 12:55:52 PM Today is a black day for retro hunters who use ADS Power in their work. The team reported that their browser was hacked and the wallets that were being used between January 21 and January 24, 2025, were at risk. I explain on my fingers, if you have not downloaded wallet extensions or updated them during this period, as well as entered a seed phrase or private keys, then you are safe.
https://x.com/AdsPowerBrowser/status/1882983731419570220 If you see a red "Important Notice" sign in ADS Power in the upper-right corner, then you are at risk and you need to transfer your crypt to another wallet, if scammers have not already done this before you. The crypt is withdrawn manually, giving priority to wallets with a large balance. If your crypt was stolen from your wallets, you need to fill out the form - https://aml.slowmist.com/recovery-funds.html , they promise to return. For those who are not affected, I recommend comparing the wallet extensions installed in ADS Power with the original ID, which I provide below. This can be done by going to the "extension management" of a specific wallet. ADC Power hacked Post by: JeromeTash on January 25, 2025, 09:29:40 PM @tvplus006, a little typo on the title
It's supposed to be ADS instead of ADC
My first time hearing about this ADS Power, Apparently it's a browser of sorts. I guess we can not know everything in this industry. So they also had a tag line that went like this "Most Secure Antidetect Browser for Multi-Accounts" They might want to rethink about that :P Anyway, I am happy that they are willing to refund the victims. I am not sure how they will vet them and hope people lost very huge amounts that can make it so hard for the service to refund. Title: Re: Attention! This browser is used by more than 5 million users. More than $4 million has been withdrawn from users' wallets at the moment, and this is not the final figure. PS I fixed the typo, thanks) Title: Re: Attention! ADS Power hacked Post by: tvplus006 on January 27, 2025, 06:33:58 PM Today, the ADS Power team has provided an official message stating that continued use of the browser and profiles is safe - https://x.com/AdsPowerBrowser/status/1883711245389545736 For those who receive a pop-up window with a warning in their account, it is necessary to transfer the cryptocurrency to another wallet.
The hacking investigation is ongoing: "At present, we have reported the case to the Singaporean authorities and have received an acknowledgement of receipt. We are in touch with the Singapore Police Force and assisting with their investigation" - https://x.com/AdsPowerBrowser/status/1883698162877256147 Title: Re: Attention! I have never used the ADS Power browser, and I have no trust in any browsers other than Google Chrome and Firefox. However, I think this hacked browser is popular among marketers and airdrop hunters, as you mentioned. It supports managing multiple accounts in separate environments with Fingerprint, and this is what distinguishes it from other browsers. It is unfortunate to know that there are nearly 4 million dollars stolen from the wallets of affected users; I hope that these users will be able to see the warning pop-up notice in time and transfer their assets to hardware wallets for cold storage instead of using these browsers that contain stores whose crypto-related extensions can be manipulated by hackers. Also, users should closely monitor ADS Power updates to know more about the details of this incident, the results of the investigation by the Singaporean authorities, and compensation for recovering their stolen funds. |
