Altcoins are very volatile so if you are short trading you will always get this opportunity but for this you need to know technical analysis or take help of someone who knows very good analysis. But if you want to hold long-term, you need to find some potential coins in which you can invest and hold for a long time. Altcoins will soon see a bull run as Bitcoin's bull run is almost over.  And after that Alt season will start. So if you invest now you don't have to wait too long.  But there are a lot of risks here so monitor it carefully. You can see SOL , JUP , ETH , TON , NEAR , BNB .

This isn't how you will study how to invest into the crypto market. Each investor has their own bias on what are the best altcoins that they own. Like for me, I'll say that the best altcoin is Ethereum but on the other side, someone will argue and say that it is Trump memecoin as the best altcoin for them. Know that they are very volatile. As they can give huge return, so they can make someone lose if they go the opposite direction. I really need to correct something on your post which I quote below.

Altcoins will rise massively but fall massively. They may disappoint you in a way they will not get to all-time high. Do not hold them in long term. Sell when you make profit already.

This isn't the ICO days that was super easy to just name a list of altcoins and majority of the listed altcoins do a 5 to 10x. It's much more harder now so only take the suggestions made by other people with a grain of salt and ensure to do in depth research before investing in any project.

The general rule used to be "buy low, sell high".

There's an exception to this where you can buy the dip and it keeps dipping.

It's strange to see this statement coming from an old member of the forum, when you want to buy altcoins, you just need to go to a CEX or DEX with a good reputation & buy them there. I put the reference in the sources section.

It is quite simple and can be done by anyone, but in its application it is very difficult.
It is also about how to trade knowledge, master TA and FA and do risk and money management.

Of course, it is not easy, the OP only asks the right time to sell and buy, but it depends on where the target is to sell and sell.

I think it's pretty obvious when the buy not just altcoins but any other investments, that is when they are down. So in this case, if you look at most of the top 10 or top 20 altcoins, they are like down -30% to -40% of their previous all time high. So for me, take for example, ETH, they could still be a good buy at the start of this year. Because if by chance they reaches a new all time high, then most likely you will get a of profits. Just remember though that I said "chance" because we really don't know how the market will react, so there is still a risk even though we are still very much in the bull run or the altcoin market hasn't seen the bull run yet. So never ask for financial advise, because it might not be true at all and you should be the one deciding in the end.

I am a little bit confused because you are a Senior Member on that forum but still you don't know how to buy a coin and trading. Whatever since you want to know about such things, you can buy or invest a coin from a centralized exchange or DEX, you can find most trustworthy exchanges list on the coinmarketcap, also here top coins lists.

I'm not surprised at all. The crypto space have moved on greatly from what it used to be. Before, all the alphas and knowledge were from only the forum. Now, even a newbie can learn so much from crypto Twitter or any other crypto centric discussion board and know much more than a senior men here. That's why in life, you have to keep learning regardless.

If you want to buy and invest in altcoins, then you must create an exchange account. After creating an exchange account, from there you can convert your domestic currency to USDT, Bitcoin or other coins through p2p, then you can buy altcoins as you wish. If you want to know about altcoins, I will mention all these coins to you, Ethereum, BNB, Solana, XRB, and I will not mention the unique shitcoin to you because investing in shitcoins is a very risky investment.

You should already know that altcoin investment depends on the traders strategy, they would invest in alt coins depending on the situation or their goal either it is just for a short trade quick profit or they are aiming for a long term and good amount of profit.

If truth be told there is no right time to buy or sell altcoin,everything just depend on your technical and fundamental analysis,that is the only way you can know when to buy and when to sell altcoin.

There's no way that you can be able to know on where prices will really be that going on which going down below or having these pumps, this is why decisions will really be that basing or according into your own analysis when dealing up with altcoins. It wont  be something that only limited out on altcoins on which there are people who would be sticking into Bitcoin or simply they do convert out their altcoin holding or earnings to be put up on Bitcoin or with some top altcoins. We do know that there are really those who are interested with those low caps or even meme coins. This is why it will really be just that depending on you on what will be your approach into this whether you do sell or buy.

Wow, how do you not know about altcoins for a forum member that has been in the community for sometime now. It's quite offbeat but nevertheless there's nothing wrong about your questions.

Before you get to invest in any altcoin you have to do some analysis about the very coin and not to invest blindly on any coin as the aftermath could be very devastating because of the high volatility of altcoins.

I think instead of asking from other members about what altcoins to invest in right now, you should rather invest some quality time to learn and study the altcoins market and build a background knowledge about the developments of these altcoins and their backing.  What's the best coin for X may not be the best for Y, but it's when you have knowledge about the market you understand better why the bias that exists.

That's right, the right time for most enthusiasts is going to be today and every day. But for someone who wants to ensure that they get a favorable entry to them have to make some efforts in finding out.

If that kind of investor doesn't know how to do it technically, it's best to rely on the solid fundamentals that could be seen in the surroundings of the crypto community.

Your question is too broad to answer because when you say "altcoin" you are talking about thousands of projects. We have biggest shitcoins that have large fake market capitalizations (sot hey are on top of the lists) like ETH, XRP, SOL that have gotten their "big pumps" a long time ago and are no longer capable of seeing any major pumps. In fact none of them have been able to reach their previous ATH against bitcoin.

We also have smaller shitcoins that are lower on the lists, which have a bigger chance of seeing "big pumps" but they are risky due to being shitcoins. Then there are tiny altcoins at the bottom of the lists that get pumped big times (like 1000% and more) in 24 hours which are very risky but fantastic for huge profit.

On top of all that we have the useless junkyard of tokens that keep being created and follow no logic when it comes to their pump and dumps.

One thing is certain in all of this though. "Investing" in any of them is not a good idea because if you check their charts you can see that they all have gotten dumped against bitcoin in the long run which means bitcoin is the only viable option for "investment".

When to buy?

You can go to YouTube to watch some videos about trading or read some books about trading, but when trading, always make use of reputable exchanges. Avoid making use of exchanges with low reputations, irrespective of the offers they are giving, always make sure you use reputable exchanges. When trading, avoid future trading as a beginner,  always trade on the spot because the risk is kind of low compared to future trading. As a trader, when you know you won’t be trading for some time, always make sure you withdraw your money from exchange, don’t leave your money on the exchange if you won’t be trading for some time. If you are looking for coins for future savings, then just invest in bitcoin or look for strong altcoins to invest in, avoid shitcoins.

Usually they are just confused about those situations and maybe better for them not to do their trades yet. Since by asking a question like what OP has been asked its show lack of knowledge towards dealing with altcoins.

So better for now is to search for helpful informations since everything is now in internet. People just need to spend some time doing some good research if they want to became more knowledgeable and execute good trades then gather a lot more experience which provably became more helpful for them in future. Success of people in trading will always matter on how willing they are to learn more about this especially for doing good study on what usually happens on market. If they think its easy to earn money on trading maybe better to cut off those expectation since they need to know that altcoin market is also unpredictable.

If you want to invest in altcoins for future savings, you should know that you need to pick the best performing altcoin that have stand the test of time before you’ll eventually put your money into them. Most of them are pump and dump coins and if you want to gamble with them, you’re at a chance of a more higher risk and the repercussions of them if they don’t go as planned is very sad. Most altcoins are not a good choice of investment, and everyone has the one they believe will do well for them in the future.

In the list of the three most best altcoins to me that I don’t doubt their growth are Ethereum, Solana and BNB. There are other ones, but I believe most in this ones for a profitable investment in altcoins. If you also want to diversify more into trading, you need to have both fundamental and technical knowledge before jumping into trading. It is sure profitable but has a more higher risk than you just investing in worthy altcoins that have listed earlier. The crypto market is full of up and downs but when you position yourself well in it, you’ll reap well good profits in the end.

If you are looking for short-term profits ( scalping ), TA is key, i agree that this is very difficult to apply in a running market, "buy when prices are low, sell when prices are high" is basic, everyone knows it. The question is "where is the right price to buy and where is the right take profit". This is where the TA function, can analyse by looking for the best price to enter such as in the support and resistance zone, plus the zone has Bullish engulfing, then it adds more confidence to enter, the take profit point is at the nearest resistance ( scalper ), depending on what type of trader you are.

If you are an investor, just buy tokens that are ranked at the top of CMC, before buying make sure you do your research first to make sure the token has a clear use.

I am interested in "buy low, sell high" and I have practiced it and it is very powerful and works If our bid touches the lowest price. The highest sense of security is obtained. Even if there is a small correction, it does not waver again or vice versa even though it has gone up 30% we can still wait for the next higher increase.

Exactly, what you are doing is quite good plus you have practiced directly in the market. Basically, what worries buyers is how to buy at the lowest price, even though the price has dropped quite low, but it is not necessarily a reversal point, it could be that the price will make an even lower low. To prevent bad things from happening, we can use the DCA strategy, which can minimize risk, and maximize profits.

My first question is do you have trading experience? If you do, I don't think you need much more details about trading process. If you don't have trading experience, go to YouTube and learn some for yourself, it will benefit you on the long run than asking here or rather it's best you ask for proper links to some YouTube channels to learn about trading. If you are done with that, come back and ask for tips for trading but just be careful, not everyone here do trade, most are just for discussions sake.

On other hand, if you are good in trading, there is much demand and hype in AI coins, there is also demands in more layer 1 projects, this are the places you can make money from particularly the AI projects. Don't buy the new ones, they are too risky and most of them dump, leave them  and let them be after a while. If the dumpers are done with their selling, you can then start trading when it reversed and trending on the exchanges. Don't do future trading please.

We also need to pay attention to not being tempted by cheap prices when the market is falling. Many people say that this is the right time to fill our pockets, but in reality we still have a floating minus when buying in a place that is not selling and the quality is not good but it's a different story if we really find a good project with a low market capitalization, we will find the next gem that will give us great benefits.

The best time of buying is during bear season, but the situation now change a lot btc is the only coin that is bullish while altcoin are still on bear, so i think it is time to buy more altcoins now and wait for altcoins bullish market because i believe that altcoin will soon follow btc bullish season.

Yes, we can find out the top altcoins in the market but it doesn't mean you can make a profit that easily, of course that's not the case.

So all I can say is that there is still a big advantage when you have a deep idea about trading and you know how to choose the right crypto assets that we will hold in the long-term.

What you are saying is correct, and if we base it on the top 10 altcoins besides bitcoin, the risk that we can face is very minimal if we hold it long-term or
