Post by: Odusko on February 03, 2025, 03:01:02 PM It's no longer news that Bitcoin is the sole determinant factor of the entire cryptocurrency market and whatever direction the Bitcoin market takes so will all other coins in the altcoins category take shape, and also note that the impact of the market is higher on altcoins much more than Bitcoin and that is why we all advocate for More Bitcoin holdings than altcoins, even though Bitcoin falls to around $94000 it won't take long to recover back to its previous all-time high price, the cryptocurrency market is a chain and Bitcoin is the major market propeller.

Altcoins are similar to romance scams, phishing scams, tech support scams, etc. but using a lot of high tech buzzwords and hype to take scamming to the next level. Which is why the scam and fraud industry is a multi-billion dollar business and growing every year. Sadly it isn't difficult to take advantage of the average person, you just have to appeal to their human greed, ignorance and stupidity. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. That has been like an open secret right from time, Bitcoin is the leading coin of all cryptocurrency, so whatever happens to bitcoin will trickle down to the other coins. However in your analysis you said the decline percent is 4.5% for bitcoin which is not on the high side compared to those altcoins you talked about their decline percenage rate being higher. We understand that the market is volatile, which is natural, but why risk on investing on altcoins that you know that you are at a greater risk of loss if bitcoin just experience a little decline, some of those altcoin project are just looking for a little stumble in the market for them to use as excuse to end their project.https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: Bd officer on February 03, 2025, 03:58:11 PM Bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrencies, we have to accept that when the price of Bitcoin goes up, the price of altcoin goes up and when the price of Bitcoin starts to go down, the price of altcoin goes down a lot. If the price of Bitcoin falls, it recovers quickly. But if the altcoin price falls then it becomes very difficult to recover. Bitcoin started to rise again, reaching around 99k. But you will find that altcoins will not recover easily. So if you want to invest, do it in a trusted currency like bitcoin, don't go to altcoins. Altcoins are very risky, if you lose it you won't get it back.

If you want to be safe and get back quickly, the only choice is to buy potential coins and of course what is widely recommended here is BTC. Indeed, we often hear that we only buy BTC but at times like this BTC is the first reference for the rise and fall of other coins.
Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: pooya87 on February 03, 2025, 04:07:31 PM Sadly that's true. And it is altcoin developers' fault as well as the users who only care about making money!
Innovation mostly died in the cryptocurrency world and over the past decade we've seen very little of it. Instead we've seen so many money grab projects that are created to be pumped and dumped, and people love them. Therefore that's what we mostly see in the altcoin market. Basically every time I hear someone say this new coin is "better" than bitcoin, I know I'm most probably dealing with a shitcoin and it makes me sad because I really like this technology and want to see it improve... When that's what they create (useless coins) they obviously have no potential and people obviously don't have any faith in them. So when the only useful currency makes any kind of move, they dump their altcoin bags and come to the bitcoin market. When that move is in the downward direction, they also panic and sell their altcoins more than they sell their bitcoin. Therefore we see a bigger altcoin dump every time. In contrast to several other tokens that are still making low, even though the current Bitcoin price is at $98k, this is very frustrating considering that when the Bitcoin price drops it will have an impact on other tokens to go down, unlike when Bitcoin goes back up, altcoins will remain sideaway at low prices. Even if there are other Altcoins that are actually trying to innovate something I can agree with you that 99% of other coins are just simply duplicate and lack any proper innovation. Many will say bitcoin is the first coin and that’s why it takes the lead and I usually debunk this and simply say that bitcoin utility is what drives it or gives it its value and been considered as investment. Bitcoin dump usually signifies that there is a negative impact on the market and as such every investors usually go for very volatile coins that’s why the Altcoins usually suffer more because they are not guaranteed of survival after every huge dump. For bitcoin it’s investors know that even after dump their is belief it will come back up again but Altcoins doesn’t have that guarantee. Reasons why they heavily hit most especially those without any utility Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: bitzizzix on February 03, 2025, 06:18:49 PM Bitcoin is the first digital currency in the world and also the king of the cryptocurrency market which will certainly affect the movement of altcoins or other currencies, and altcoins are imitations of Bitcoin that will never be as perfect as Bitcoin and Bitcoin can be likened to the backbone of the family and if Bitcoin is sick then the others will be affected. I mean likening Bitcoin to a father in a family who has to earn a living or income for his family and if he is sick or something happens that causes him to be unable to work then his family will starve or other things that can harm his family and vice versa if he can work well then his family will be happy and will get enough food and can meet all their needs. And I take a simple example that can be easily understood because Bitcoin can be said to be like that and can affect altcoins especially when the price is falling and altcoins will fall even more significantly. ;D

They are centralized altcoin projects and if their founders abandon their projects, it's almost the end of the project fate. Yes that's how the market has always been, the movement of Bitcoin affect altcoins because when Bitcoin pumps, Altcoin are going to follow after and pump and when Bitcoin dumps, the same thing is going to happen and the price of altcoins will dump higher than the dump of Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only coin that can control the rest of the market because of the share of the market that Bitcoin has, Bitcoin is the biggest and always among the most traded coins excluding stablecoin because they're also having big trading volume as other cryptocurrency are traded against stablecoin. When the market starts dumping, don't be afraid that the market is dumping but be happy and start buying. The dumps are always expected to happen after Bitcoin has seen significant growth in the past months or week depending on what's happening. Example of this is Ethereum, that altcoin has been lagging behind for many months and didn't show any good recovery with Bitcoin but crash than Bitcoin on a small news. I'm not sure if this is a new wave of change in the investment portfolio from among investors but I can tell that people will rather see profits of 10x on Bitcoin than to for altcoin that is guarantee and will crash on any small news. The institutional investors are among the reason why this growth is happening, if the interest on Bitcoin remains the same, people will follow where the money goes and not where the profits is coming on a short term. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: Questat on February 04, 2025, 09:57:53 PM Just think if altcoins decide the fate for bitcoin? Bitcoin will not achieved where it is right now. So it’s better to say that bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins, at least we will witness some potential altcoins going into massive when bitcoin reaches its peak price. However, not all the time bitcoin may influence altcoins. Altcoins have their own role in the crypto market, and they pump and dump of their own even when bitcoin is making a good performance.
Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: MarjorieZimmermanGinger on February 05, 2025, 04:35:21 AM what makes altcoins a lot riskier than bitcoin is its volatility is a lot higher than bitcoin so when bitcoin declines even for a bit you can expect it to bounce back but the same can not be said for altcoins this decline for bitcoin might be the end for one altcoin out there which is why i would always just go for bitcoin if i want to hold something for the future ahead a lot less thinking and monitoring needed If you want to hold in the long term then the decision to hold bitcoin is much better because bitcoin has fundamentals and even if there is a correction there will always be a gradual recovery moment. Altcoins with their high volatility can actually put psychological pressure on holders and if they panic it will give the potential for much greater losses so for long term issues altcoins are not something ideal to hold because of their high volatility. If you want to be safe then it is better to hold bitcoin because it is much more proven and much better for the long term as an investment step that we choose.Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. I see that is what happen in this few days so maybe we will see this month will not be good for Bitcoin and altcoin. Altcoin looks suffer with this condition and makes many altcoins down too dip again. But once again, we will have a good time to buy back at low price so we should use that for our benefit. And this has made me wonder if the straight of altcoins rely on the straight of bitcoin because it seen that fall in Bitcoin price affect altcoins more than it's rise. Since bitcoin is the mother of all coins, it is only natural that all altcoins follow the price of bitcoin, That's the only reason. because it is impossible for altcoins to compete with bitcoin, although there are some altcoins that are able to survive when bitcoin falls, it's just a game because in the end you will also lose your money when investing in those altcoins. So no matter when Altcoins will always be dominated by BitcoinJust look at when the market was crashing in the last few weeks, many altcoins were bleeding, some fell by 50% in a week. This was all "Only" caused by Bitcoin which fell less than 5% this week. This proves that the price of bitcoin will have a big impact on altcoins. It can be said that Bitcoin is the safest asset while altcoins are alternative coins for many investors because the goal of most traders or investors is to continue to increase their bitcoin position, so they don't need to continue holding altcoins if their main coin increases. If I can compare Bitcoin and Altcoin when looking at the market. "Bitcoin coughs, then altcoins defecate blood". Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. In some cases, if the Bitcoin price drops, it affects the price of altcoins. Any harm that comes to Bitcoin, the majority of the altcoins get affected. There are also times that are regarded as altcoin seasons when the Bitcoin price might be struggling to retain a certain level while altcoins will be doing well in the market, but these are mostly rare cases. Some altcoins actually do very well in terms of recovery from drops as a result of the Bitcoin market crash, while some suffer too much from it, which they might never be able to get a pullback after dropping down from a fall. There are also times that are regarded as altcoin seasons when the Bitcoin price might be struggling to retain a certain level while altcoins will be doing well in the market, but these are mostly rare cases. More precisely it is called altcoin sisen because usually in this performance bitcoin will experience a decline and altcoins themselves get a significant upward momentum. But in its usual capacity it actually shows the same direction where when bitcoin's performance moves altcoins will follow or it could be the other way around. The momentum of bitcoin's increase is always awaited by most people because this process is what makes some people profit from running investments. Some altcoins actually do very well in terms of recovery from drops as a result of the Bitcoin market crash, while some suffer too much from it, which they might never be able to get a pullback after dropping down from a fall. If you want to get involved in altcoin investment then people should recognize some of the more potential ones because not all altcoins have a good future in the market and often they get moments of losing investment value. It's not all about the price, even the altcoins price really low and can't beat the previous ATH during Bitcoin bull season, as long as the coins have real use case, they will survive. Because most coins out there only focus on quantity (hype) with the aim of enriching developers and a few early adopters. We should keep in mind that it's not about making money. But rather, making our world a better place. Since day one, Bitcoin had the vision of decentralizing the economy. It's far from realizing it (especially when centralization dominates the industry), but nothing's impossible. Once people lose trust in the Fiat money system (empowered by central banks worldwide), Bitcoin will take over the globe. Where does that leave altcoins? Alone, left behind in the dust. Bitcoin has always been the king and it could even be forever like that so I don't really feel surprised that in the end the situation that is happening now where the fate of altcoins in terms of the market still rests on bitcoin will forever happen. And it is altcoin developers' fault as well as the users who only care about making money! There are a lot of developers involved with altcoins who's intention is not to make money but to do something better. The only problem with that sort of thing is that they are vastly outnumbered by token developers, DeFi developers, DEX developers and other scam artists who are looking for the quick rug pull. So when no easy money can be made on any coins easily then everyone loses interest in crypto simultaneously and the prices of everything are dragged down. Some people argue the fact that altcoins can do without bitcoin, which is very clear that bitcoin gives rise to any other cryptocurrencies, and when altcoins decreases in the market it take altcoin more time to pick off increment whereas bitcoin doesn't take time to restate it's value...And people do value to invest in altcoins more bitcoin due to chances of making profit through altcoins is higher than bitcoin, but in summary bitcoin gives altcoins rise of increase. Bitcoin is the first and the decentralized coin in the cryptocurrency world. It controls about 50% of the entire market, which is why the rise and fall of Bitcoin's price has a huge impact on altcoins. When Bitcoin is most bullish, altcoins also increase in price, and when the Bitcoin market falls, altcoins fall more than bitcoin. Sometimes, even with a slight fall, Bitcoin loses a lot of value to altcoins, which is why buying altcoins is more risky. In some cases, the market situation, good or bad, depends on the price of Bitcoin. I must say that Bitcoin depends on altcoins. There is no example of altcoin prices increasing when Bitcoin price is down, but when the Bitcoin price increases, the prices of altcoins also increase and follow the same direction in both cases.Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Because competitors such as Solana and BNB are "eating its cake". ETH devs have been reluctant to increase on-chain scalability for lower fees and faster confirmation times. Instead, they've been forcing people to move to centralized L2 networks with low TVL and smaller number of dApps. So yeah, alts will continue to go up alongside BTC, while ETH stagnates. But what marvels me is that after a correspondent fall, when the price of bitcoin then rises some of these altcoins that fell when BTC price was falling don't also follow in the rise when BTC is rising. In addition, if we want to be safer before trading in altcoins, please also pay attention to the direction of BTC movement where in addition to technical analysis, knowing the Bitcoin space well will also help detect whether the price is going up or down. Short purchases can be very risky because the price can fall again, especially if the market conditions are sideways and this also has an impact if we trade in altcoins. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: Iranus on February 15, 2025, 09:04:22 AM Exactly. It has always been about quality. Why do you think Bitcoin is still #1? Because most coins out there only focus on quantity (hype) with the aim of enriching developers and a few early adopters. We should keep in mind that it's not about making money. But rather, making our world a better place. Since day one, Bitcoin had the vision of decentralizing the economy. It's far from realizing it (especially when centralization dominates the industry), but nothing's impossible. Once people lose trust in the Fiat money system (empowered by central banks worldwide), Bitcoin will take over the globe. Where does that leave altcoins? Alone, left behind in the dust. At least, most of them. I'd just "hodl" Bitcoin and forget about the rest. You are not wrong in saying that all altcoins are created with the intention of enriching the developers instead of focusing on developing the project and bringing general benefits to the community. But don't fool yourself and everyone, we are here and investing in bitcoin to make money, for our own benefit, not to use bitcoin to make this world a better place. And as long as people's goal is still money, don't expect them to lose faith in fiat and the banking system one day. So I don't believe that bitcoin can rule the world and we will have a decentralized world like you dream of. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Yes, you're right cause that's not something new, everyone that's been long into Bitcoin should already be aware of that so the news is old, Bitcoin is the king of Other Cryptocurrencies, it's second to none and it's like a Shepherd leading it's flock, when the Shepherd is weak the flocks are weak and prone to danger and when he's strong the flocks are safe and protected, same applies to Bitcoin, when it's down Other Cryptocurrencies follow suit and when the price hikes, Alts and Shitcoins follow as well, they solely depend on the price of Bitcoin to make improvements and even ETH that's most people place 2nd after Bitcoin don't even comes close nor have it achieved the milestone that Bitcoin has attain and that's why Bitcoin reigns supreme the Cryptocurrency world.Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: nelson4lov on February 15, 2025, 09:53:59 PM ~Snipped ETH is the only exception. Market prices have been relatively stagnant. Why? Because competitors such as Solana and BNB are "eating its cake". ETH devs have been reluctant to increase on-chain scalability for lower fees and faster confirmation times. Instead, they've been forcing people to move to centralized L2 networks with low TVL and smaller number of dApps. So yeah, alts will continue to go up alongside BTC, while ETH stagnates. Not a good investment if you ask me. Still, anything can happen in the future. After all, the crypto market behaves in many strange and bizarre ways. :D Imo, not just eth. Other altcoins that appear to have "done well "in this bull run are at least -50% to -90% down. Even solana is down over -20 to -30% from its recent all time high from less than a month ago. As for ETH, the community have been rallying around demanding more from ETH foundation because they have been one of the frequent sellers in the last year and just this week, they add over 50K ETH into defi protocols so they can generate yield and use that yield for some expenses rather than sell them outright. Additionally, gas limits was increased from 30M to 36M per block and Pentra upgrade is coming in March. I sold all my eth last month but the future is starting to look good for Ethereum. When the price of Bitcoin increases, what is the condition of altcoins and when the price decreases, what is the condition of altcoins. Bitcoin is definitely the first and only cryptocurrency that is completely decentralized. Where people have the most trust. At the time when the price of Bitcoin increases, many people invest in some altcoins to double their investment in a short time where there is no certainty of investment. Since the entire cryptocurrency market closely follows the price of Bitcoin, I can definitely agree about the dependence of altcoins on Bitcoin. And if this is the case, then the fate of altcoins will definitely depend on Bitcoin. Yes, that could be more additional data for us to analyze the market so we can know how good the market and the condition of altcoin and Bitcoin. By take a look at Bitcoin history and the price movement, we will get an image when we can enter to the market so we don't have to afraid with the price fluctuation. We can consider that the price fluctuation is nothing compare to our reason to make an investment in Bitcoin. We can try to invest in altcoin using another allocation money so that will not disturb our Bitcoin investment.Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. It's true that most altcoins, even the ones performing well, are still significantly down from their highs. Solana’s drop, despite its recent gains, highlights just how volatile this market can be. As for Ethereum, the steps the foundation is taking to focus on generating yield rather than selling ETH outright could be a game changer in addressing concerns about constant sell pressure. The gas limit increase and the upcoming Pentra upgrade are also positive developments that could boost network efficiency and stir up renewed interest. It’s interesting that you sold your ETH last month but are already seeing promise for its future. I agree that it wouldn’t take much for sentiment to shift, and with just a bit of institutional interest, the narrative around Ethereum could regain momentum quickly. :D Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. We can follow the altcoins going through a similar phase as well. When large scale events like hacks or politicians calling coins good happens, this type of movements are common. The developers created them to make their pocket fat and not to solve any problems for investors. Bitcoin controls their price and the funny thing is that if bitcoin dumps, some of these altcoins will dump and not recover when bitcoin is pumping. Altcoins are not duplicates of Bitcoin; if they were duplicates, they could have been as the original or close to it. Altcoins are just alternative coins, which is why they are referred to as altcoins. Their purpose was initially to solve the problem that Bitcoin faced, but they have gone far below that to the extent of creating something that can only enrich them, although some are not completely as useless; they are just undervalued and underrated, for example, altcoins like Monero (XMR).Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: RockBell on March 04, 2025, 01:21:07 PM Bitcoin is the first and the decentralized coin in the cryptocurrency world. There is no example of altcoin prices increasing when Bitcoin price is down, but when the Bitcoin price increases, the prices of altcoins also increase and follow the same direction in both cases. The that bitcoin is the first crypto currency and we should know that everything will eventually be controlled by Bitcoin because all other idea were gotten from it an and nothing is even comparable to what Bitcoin have archived. And I see a lot of comments about if there will be anything that will surpass Bitcoin but for now there is nothing obviously and that is why people so much trust in that investment and one of the common thing is that Bitcoin controls everything. If bitcoin should go up then other altcoins will also follow and this is one of the reasons why people will choose bitcoin over everything. And if the price should go up it is usually a win for other coin. And it can not change the fact that everything will go bullish. So there is a lot of things that bitcoin is unable to drop from its position so this is one it is called the king, having some good altcoins that are very good and can be invested in. There are times that Bitcoin price would fall and the alts would be pumped or vice versa. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: mkdestroy on March 04, 2025, 08:50:24 PM Yep I think the same. I invest in Solana and the price is always exactly the same as Bitcoin

By "duplicates of Bitcoin", do you mean "clones"? Well, I'd say there aren't that many clones on the market these days. At least, not direct copies of Bitcoin. What do exist are clones of tokens. Especially those that are based off "memes". For instance, PEPE is a clone of SHIBA. BabyShibaInu, Floki Inu, and a few others are the same. They don't have anything innovative other than a few tweaks "here and there" (like changing the total supply). Altcoins that are a "true gem" are quite scarce. But worth having in your portfolio. Besides Monero, Litecoin and Ethereum are "undervalued and underrated". I doubt any altcoin will be able to survive on its own without Bitcoin. After all, the latter is the one that started it all. Why do you think BTC is the "reserve cryptocurrency of the market"? Every crypto exchange has at least a BTC trading pair. So if BTC goes all the way down the drain, altcoins will lose their value big time. Just diversify your investment to minimize risks of loss, and there shouldn't be any problem. :) Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Though now, this is a period we are almost seeing a very different scenario all together, because in the past, after every market bull run (happening in BTC), we likely see the altcoins season follow suite, then a decline (or verse vasa), but this time is not so. This time, it seems Bitcoin is about taking full control, with altcoins having no time for their own season to hit hard in breaking some new ATH. Well, if we compare with previous cycles, there is no denying that things are changing. During the cycle and so far, bitcoin has completely dominated the market and altcoins have barely had a chance to shine. But to be fair, if we still believe that history will repeat itself, the bull season is not over yet and bitcoin will hit $150k or $200k this year. It's too early to say there won't be an altcoin season. We should wait until the end of the year and if nothing happens with altcoins, we can say that everything has changed and the game is only for bitcoin. However, when the price of Bitcoin is stable after the price of Bitcoin, Bitcoin dominance decreases and all altcoin starts to rise very quickly and the price pumps a lot. And it becomes the bearish market. But Bitcoin is one of the most trusted coin. It's natural for liquidity to search for other coins once BTC is so pumped it's not viable to go and try to push it in any direction - and the money follows the demand and potential. BTC is the first to go through this, then - it's alts, because they are the biggest contestants besides BTC itself. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. I don't think there will ever be another altcoin season. Especially when institutional investors are buying BTC like crazy. All of the attention is on Bitcoin right now. For alts to gain traction, they need to have their own spot ETFs approved by the SEC. It's the only way "Wall Street" can get their hands on it and "pump" market prices all the way to the moon. Undeniably, things have changed. This isn't like the early days where BTC carried the rest of the altcoins with it. I think this is good, because "shitcoins" will need to prove they're worth it under the eyes of institutional investors. It's their game now. The only altcoin that has a chance to go up is Ethereum, because spot ETFs were approved for it. Both BTC and ETH will become the "Kings" of the market. Dominance will surely increase, leaving other altcoins in the dust. I'd just "hodl" these coins for long (ETH + BTC) and forget about the rest. Only altcoins with potential, memecoins with loyal communities will actually pump, we can't expect all of them to pump. That is, Bitcoin can influence what happens in the price of other altcoins but the reverse cannot be the same. What influences the price of Bitcoin are few factors like policies, market seasons, economic status and government regulations. If eventually bitcoin loses its trust, and perish (which is almost impossible to happen) every other altcoin will follow suit. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Because altcoins bring something new to the table and they are not BTC, that's their gist ;) Although most of them are created for profit and premining, some - excel at different areas, and they too have different developments that don't push them into the new ranks or something, but they are still well-maintained (big caps, mostly). BTC is stable, and its values - its the main point of BTC, they don't change, and that propels the confidence and the adoption of BTC forward. Liquidity must go somewhere after BTC's rally would be over - and alts is the answer where the investors look after they get to the point where BTC is pushed to the biggest cap during the cycle yet - it's natural for them to seek potential, not only stability. But for us - it's the opposite, usually, - so we need to remember where the value would be truly saved through all the time. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. But here is the kicker, when Bitcoin drops in the price and a situation where an individual investor has Bitcoin and some altcoins in their respective portfolios, many will tend to sell off their Altcoins first, leaving their Bitcoin holdings, or some selling a little portion of their Bitcoin, So this is what triggers Altcoins to crash extensively in price way more than Bitcoin because investors have trust in Bitcoin more than they trust the Altcoins. Post by: Gost ms on June 29, 2025, 09:39:30 AM You have made a beautiful point between Bitcoin and Altcoins. Many newbies do not understand that Bitcoin investment is the best for them. Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies. It is never right to compare anyone's Bitcoin with any other coin. When there is a fall in the market, if the price of Bitcoin decreases by 1%, then the price of all other cryptocurrencies decreases by more than 10% and some coins decrease by 50%. Bitcoin is better than all coins in terms of security. When you look at all aspects, Bitcoin is the best of all. Many people first step towards Altcoins due to which they lose all their money. Never think of investing in all these Altcoins. Always invest in Bitcoin and have a long term
Invest in Bitcoin for a long term like keep the investment time frame of 8 to 10 years. You don't need much to invest, just basic knowledge about Bitcoin and a discretionary income to start investing. If you don't have a discretionary income, first find a source of income so that you can consistently maintain your investment. So far, Bitcoin is the only coin that has been the most profitable for long-term investment since its inception. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. I’ve never had that experience where I invested in a coin and it exploded by x100 or even x10, even though I constantly follow the news, and try to buy or earn coins that seem promising to me. But I really hope I’ll manage to "hack" the system and eventually find my own super coin. As for Bitcoin, now is probably not the best time to accumulate it. It’s better to wait, since the price is currently high. Most of the news of people making 100x of gains from altcoins after investing into it are lies. There are real stories but alot of it being spread on social media are fakers looking for people that'll believe them and follow them to stay updated with trending altcoins to invest in. After they have gotten lots of followers, they'll then use their influence to promote and pump any random undervalued cryptocurrency to get quick profits. Bitcoin is the only coin that can decide how the market is going to be because when Bitcoin is pumping, other cryptocurrency will benefit from this as news begin to spread and more investors enter the market. Yes, you are right. Most of what is promoted on social media is fake. They do this to gain followers on their social media platforms. They confuse people with any currency of their choice, the name of which we have never heard of. Again, we often see that many new currencies increase by 100%, 200%, 500% after their launch. We see this again and hear on social media that new currencies will be launched. We keep trading again and again because we see with our own eyes and new currencies come. If we trade in it, then in a very short time we will make profit. But later we find that we have come to know about fake currencies. In this we have wasted both our money and time. But if we invest our money and time in Bitcoin, the king of cryptocurrencies, then we will never lose. Bitcoin is the face of the cryptocurrency world. When the price of Bitcoin decreases, the price of all cryptocurrencies decreases. Again, when the price of Bitcoin increases, the price of all other currencies increases. I am not saying that any currency is bad. But we need to stop this trend of jumping into new currencies after hearing about them on social media. So first invest in Bitcoin for the long term and then try your luck in other currencies. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Exactly. There's is no proven method to multiply your money overnight with altcoins. Especially now that most altcoins are far below their last-recorded ATHs. Even ETH is struggling to get back towards $4.8k. I know it's possible to make money during the ups and downs (volatility), but the risk of loss is simply too high to bear. BTC is a much safer option. Once it "pumps", altcoins will follow suit. The opposite happens once Bitcoin turns bearish. It's the one coin that's used as a reserve asset on the market. Obviously, altcoins heavily depend on BTC to survive. You and I know that secret, but most noobs don't. Everyone wants to make money without having to deal with the negative effects of volatility. Only those who're smart, will be able to profit off the craze in the long run. Just diversify your investment, and there should be nothing to worry about. When the Bitcoin drops, it affects most altcoin. there's a season where altcoin do extremely well even when Bitcoin is stagnant or declining. This periods are usually fueled by rising interest in some parts of the crypto market. Some of this sectors are NFTs,Defi and the rest of them. That's why this periods are usually documented because they are very important and rear. Investors spend their money during this season to buying altcoins hoping for higher interest. due to Bitcoins dominance in the market I think it's wise to hold both Bitcoin and some promising altcoins that will do well.

More precisely, those who make 100x returns on altcoins are people in that project, be it the developers or their family members. But it must also be admitted that in the previous 2 cycles, many altcoins did that and many investors made huge profits. Most of the altcoins with billion dollar capitalizations like ETH, Sol or Doge, shiba...are projects that were only worth a few million to a few hundred million dollars many years ago. That means they also increase 100 or 1000 times. But this is probably no longer true in the current market as the number of altcoin projects has increased to millions of projects, pushing the price of an altcoin to x100 or x1000 will no longer be easy. We also have to keep in mind that crypto is now more mainstream than it was before. The market is too saturated these days with so many "meme" coins and ordinary "shitcoins". Therefore, odds of a huge "pump" occurring soon would be slim. Everyone is on-board and wants to make money fast. The only option we have is to wait until Bitcoin goes to the moon, to sell altcoins for profit. That's if you're aiming for 100x - 1000x gains. You'll be surprised by how the crypto market behaves within such a short amount of time. It's part of the volatile and unpredictable nature of Bitcoin and altcoins. Just remember to never invest more than what you can't afford to lose, and there should be nothing to worry about. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: TheUltraElite on August 13, 2025, 03:34:47 PM What do you doubt? I don't know if you invested in altcoins in previous cycles, but as someone who invested in altcoins and made significant profits. Previous cycles or "altcoin seasons" as some like to call it, indeed have been profitable. But some investors did not have the proper approach and ended up buying these altcoins for the long term, which is like a sure loss.Quote I can assure you that making big profits from altcoins is real and many people have done it, not just a few. Many of my friends have left the market after making significant profits from altcoins, shitcoins from previous cycles. Of course some people have done it. But this needs some level of cunningness to know when to sell before dropping to the lows. It is not for every trader out there. Only the few who sell at the top will profit.Quote But what you say is probably true in this cycle as I have not seen anyone around me making profit from altcoins, including my altcoin investment. This cycle has been brutal for altcoin investors and perhaps a lesson for those without bitcoin in their portfolios. Yes I hope they understand that bitcoin is needed in their folio to keep some amount of good quality assets in hand.Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: cr1776 on August 13, 2025, 04:15:35 PM Bitcoin price has decline to about 94k today which cover about 4.5% decline rate and this dip has drastically result to a significant decline in the price of altcoins with a decline rate higher than that of Bitcoin. And this has made me wonder if the straight of altcoins rely on the straight of bitcoin because it seen that fall in Bitcoin price affect altcoins more than it's rise. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin Just avoid the alts and buy bitcoin for security etc. There are so many scams out there, just buy and hold. Title: Re: It's seen that Bitcoin decide the fate of altcoins. Post by: Wakate on August 13, 2025, 05:12:52 PM The trading ecosystem is such that it needs your patience. There will be times when bitcoin is going down and you have to buy and times when you wait it out. This needs a goos amount of patience to get through. I have been seeing so many speculations about the altcoin season and many are saying we are already in the season which is why the price of Ethereum and other altcoins are skyrocketing. Well if that is so, anybody buying altcoins should be careful because I don't know why people will start buying tokens that are already at the bull run. Altcoins are going to be more volatile and more risky. Most people end up getting washed away by them. The rare few who make money but I still doubt how much they actually made. Better to stick with bitcoi and wait for altcoin season to come. Bitcoin should be the ultimate here since it has much influence in the market compared to any other cryptocurrency. Buying and holding Bitcoin will make us profitable with less risk compared to accumulating altcoins that could become rug pulled any time. |
