Medicaid is a joint federal and state program that gives health coverage to some people with limited income and resources. Specially for people like me, who like to follow politics on the United States, so far I had not heard about this weird strategy by the democrat party to try to further tarnish the image of Trump and at the same time threaten to shut down the federal government... Still, this is not very different from what Republicans had tried to do when there was a democrat president in the white house, they tried to weaponize the budget of the nation in order to bend the will of the executive into making cuts on programs who are popular all across the country. Because of the lack of leadership within the democrat party and the fact they have not been able to recover from their disgraceful defeat yet, it would not be surprising if they started to take unpopular and delusional measures to try to attack Trump, which make them look like idiots. I have seen people on the internet to actively claim they avoid American politics because how tiring and unhealthy that influx of news can be to their mental health. Don't be surprised there are people who are willfully ignorant on the antics of both the Republican and Democrat party, because lately news are designed not to inform the public of the United States, but rather to create division and chaos between two big blocks of the population.
