Title: Will the Price of bitcoin ever stabilize?
Post by: Megaboss12 on March 21, 2025, 02:09:29 PM
I'm just curious. The beauty of investing in bitcoin or any other crypto is in it's volatility. Volatility makes smart investors to study the market trends- know when to buy and also when to sell in order to maximize profit. The value  of bitcoin is basically based on it's acceptability - as more and more countries adopt bitcoin and maybe build a reserve for it, it's value will definitely increase. However if bitcoin is generally adopted worldwide it's prize will become more stable and the volatility factor that investors leverage upon will fade. While it's possible that at this point the price may be $500k or more but this same price will become more stable and conversely not a very good investment option. Someone may say why has the price of gold not stabilized- well gold is physical and it's physical usage may increase. There are only 21million bitcoin that will ever be, but converting these to it's smallest unit (Sat.) and dividing it among the world's population is more than enough for everybody (approx. 300k sats), which further buttress my points on bitcoins potential stability with general acceptability.

If the price will ever stabilize, what are the factors we need to look out for as investor to know that the time has come for us to apply extraordinary wisdom ?

Volatility is one of the main features of bitcoin and for that, there will not be any time that the price of volatile assets will ever stabilize Regarding the issues with why we hard Volatilities the answer is that volatility gives investors two signals when it uptrend volatility it gives holders the chance to cash out their profits.

When the volatility hits bitcoin to a downtrend it gives investors the chance to buy bitcoin at a discounted price then, so we need to accept both side effects of volatility in the bitcoin market.

Stabilization is just an illusion in Bitcoin, just like gold, gold exist since a long time ago and the price is never been stable until now.

The price can up and down, but by overall the price tend to up. It's same with Bitcoin, the price can up and down, by overall it's tend to up.

Fiat is always devalue, hence the price of limited assets like gold and Bitcoin are keep increasing.

So, Bitcoin price will never ever stabilize, even 100% of the coins are owned by centralized institutions and governments.

Well, one thing you need to know is that predicting the stability of Bitcoin price is over one's head because the price of Bitcoin fluctuates anytime; however, if the investors stick with their goals and are also ready to endure any kind of risks when investing in cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, since Bitcoin has become volatile in nature, the only factors should be:

...Do your own research.

....Know the risk before investing in cryptocurrency.

....monitor the market price

....and have the mindset of a hodler.

We all know that the Bitcoin market is volatile. If someone first hears about Bitcoin, they will first realize that Bitcoin is one of the most volatile currencies. It is constantly going up and down. If someone is afraid of volatile markets, then I don't think Bitcoin is for them. They can never be investors.

Investors should remember that Bitcoin is not a short-term money-making scheme. It is a way to create wealth for themselves in the long term

Which commodity or fiat have a stabilized price? I don't think so. Name the commodities that are stable in price, both agricultural or metal, none is stable in price. Fiat price is not stable despite being controlled by government and it is traded.

So Bitcoin being a decentralized crypto is not regulated despite the supply is known but among other reasons, it is also a tradable assets, price fluctuation is the beauty of tradable commodities.

the stability is just in the theory, in practice, bitcoin will continue to remain volatile regardless of the extent of bitcoin adoption we witness. the 21 million bitcoins in circulation won't be bought completely without transacting with it, we are going to continue seeing investors buying bitcoin and others selling it. As more people join the bitcoin ecosystem, more will also exit, and policies and regulatory issues will continue to affect bitcoin price which is the more reason why bitcoin will continue to remain volatile.

even after years of gold existence, it hasn't attained a fixed price. even if we are to follow the direction you are going, if bitcoin gains stability, it still becomes a better store of value than the fiat and most alternative we have to bitcoin. as long as you are not losing your asset that you invested in bitcoin, it makes it safer than the fiat.

You are right, that wild roller coaster ride Bitcoin sometimes takes?  Thats where some people see the fun and the potential to make a bunch of money. Its like finding a rare trading card that suddenly everyone wants! You buy low, sell high, and boom – profit!

But heres where Im going to be a bit of a contrarian. You said there is enough Bitcoin for everyone. But what if everyone wants a lot of Bitcoin? Like, what if everyone wants to be a Bitcoin billionaire? Then, suddenly, there might not be enough! Its like trying to share a pizza with a thousand hungry people. Someone is going to get a tiny slice!

And you know what? Even if Bitcoin becomes super common, like everyone is using it to buy pizza and stuff, that doesnt guarantee it will be stable. People might still get excited about other new things, and the price could still go up and down.

Stabilization is way too far to be possible with bitcoin. Even fiat isn’t actually stabilized after all. Most particularly for bitcoin where volatility makes it its real essence and advantage, without it the rate of bitcoin to reach a massive price won’t somehow be realized. Let’s just say stabilization isn’t the goal for bitcoin, but global adoption comes first more than any other target goals we set for bitcoin.

The answer is of course that the price of bitcoin will never be stable, bitcoins are only made in the amount of 21 million coins with a limited circulation, so bitcoin is called a decentralized coin, while the stable coin concept usually refers to assets that are centralized and the circulation can be increased/decreased. USDT - DAI - USDC - PAXG are examples of stable assets, their value follows the current US Dollar price, while bitcoin is not a centralized asset, the price of bitcoin will always fluctuate and no one can change that.

Everything is relative I guess, but over time Bitcoin will become less volatile. When it is done dramatically growing adoption and investment, it will pretty much only be fueled by the printing of fiat currencies. At that point it will see boring returns of a few percent per year. The good news is, that shouldn’t happen for another 25 years.

Do you consider the price stable when it's mostly been going up the last few years? Because the recent price drop is nothing compared to levels we had a few years ago.

Consider the fact that crypto trading is still very centralized so it becomes very easy to manipulate markets. For instance Binance's market makers surely hold reserves in Bybit to execute more liquid orders and also fill their books with some profit while leveraging counterparty transactions.

Now, since they have millions deposited in a rival exchange anyway, why wouldn't they just manipulate the market when there's profit to be made from that? They start from their own exchange and also profit from trades in other exchanges. It's a pretty simple apparatus that any exchange could run.

So long as crypto remains a speculative asset and isn't tied to any real world business or labour to the largest extent, there's never going to be incentive to keep it more stable like FIAT is. Of course FIAT is used by governments to control people. But it's also much more stable because that's a core function of money that bitcoin has yet to achieve due to this chicken and egg problem.

Over time, as more people invest in Bitcoin and more exchanges and financial instruments emerge, liquidity will increase. Higher liquidity will make prices less subject to sudden fluctuations.
The increase in adoption will also be effective in reducing volatility, and time will tell. I can still say that I do not expect Bitcoin's volatility to disappear completely.
It is possible that Bitcoin could become a more stable asset like gold, but I think it will be different.

Bitcoin will never be stable. If Bitcoin is stable, the popularity of Bitcoin will decrease. The reason why Bitcoin is so popular with people today is because of Bitcoin volatility. If there was no volatility in the Bitcoin market, people would not have invested so much and planned their future with Bitcoin. Do you think that fiat currency can ever be a contemporary of Bitcoin? Never. So why do you think or want to see Bitcoin as a stable medium.

(...) but this same price will become more stable and conversely not a very good investment option. (...)

Are you implying that high volatility is a necessary prerequisite for a good investment?
Not everyone is interested in short-term trading and get-rich-quick instruments. If Bitcoin stabilised, it would attract a different type of investors. Many would welcome a predictable investment instrument that doesn't make chaotic movements and appreciates steadily over time, slowly but surely.
My prediction is that, if Bitcoin doesn't die or slowly fades away, it will become something that gold was supposed to be, but could work even better in terms of being store-of-value.

While I know that before bitcoin will be generally adopted worldwide, it's price will become unbelievably high... But after that what next...? Good investors are not known to be blindly optimistic, they are good critics too, they analyse, criticize, think of worst case scenarios and build their minds ahead of time. Everything is possible after all.

Yes, I agree with you. The return on investment from bitcoin is likely to decrease in the coming years as its adoption becomes more widespread, which is one possible consequence that needs to be considered. If the annual percentage return from bitcoin gets lower, then the concern is that the number of investors will decrease as they move to more profitable assets each year.

Basically, with the interest of investors on other assets bitcoin is expected to face a diminishing return someday, but with a high price tag presumably. So, the only problem that could immerge which makes bitcoin's stability uncertain is the big whales selling at that moment of wide adoption. If a tremendous amount of Bitcoin is sold nothing would stop it from going down. Hence, volatility is the main risk of BTC and it may never be resolved at anytime.

I am of the belief that one day the price of BTC will stabilize. But as long as not all of the coins have been mined, I think all of our days will still face high volatility for Bitcoin. The big boys are in it already and they understand more and better than us, there won't probably be a stabilization of its price in the near future because the total supply of it will last until the next 100 years and we won't be there anymore. And as an investor, it's a factor that we need to take as an advantage that many are scared of. So whether we see stabilized price or not, just keep on holding and investing with any amount that you're totally good with.

Bitcoin's price is being determined by the demand and supply. It's not peg to the stable asset such as fiat money or something else. It means Bitcoin's price will never stabilize. There will always be volatility to be involved in Bitcoin's price, big or small. It goes up and down based on supply and demand in the market.

Some said it less volatile due to the adoption, but voltility will always be there forever.

Well isn't it just supply and demand? Granted that's also pretty hard to identify but I reckon it's going to be pretty obvious at some point when the entire world (or at least a large majority of it) starts using Bitcoin as a MOP in their everyday life. Cause at that point you bet Bitcoin is at the very least stable enough to be used as such. Granted I don't think that's possible, or at least I don't see it happening since the market will always have that level of volatility in it. And there's always some amount being lost due to forgotten wallets so even the 21m supply dwindles down and if demand just keeps going up, then the price would still inevitably move.

As Bitcoin matures and becomes larger, its volatility will also decrease. That is why we will no longer have the opportunity to witness the thousand percent growth and 30x, 50x or 100x returns that bitcoin brought to early investors when it was very small. But bitcoin will never be stable, even gold, it is less volatile but never stable.

It is true that we invest in bitcoin because of its volatility, because we can take advantage of that to make bigger profits. So it is likely that when bitcoin becomes less volatile than gold, many people will lose interest in it and look for alternatives. But there will also be many other investors moving into bitcoin just like they are doing with gold. Not everyone enjoys roller coasters and risks.

Without volatility Bitcoin will become like a stablecoin that will most likely be pegged to itself and it'll cease to be a store of value. As long as Bitcoin has a limited supply and there's demand and supply for it, it'll continue to be volatile. It is an asset because it has the potentials to reach ATH in it's bull circles, therefore it has to dump and pump before it's price can rally, skyrocket to hit ATH. The rapid adoption of Bitcoin can not give room for it to be stabilized, people will always have positive or negative reasons to sell and buy. What I foresee in the future is that it's price will always hit new ATH because of it's reputation and potentials.

Even gold is not stable so don't expect Bitcoin to be stable, it's volatility nature and its dump and pump is exactly what makes it a store of value, Bitcoin is volatile in nature and even at that Bitcoin has attracted new investors. Bitcoin wasn't created to be stable and this is what makes it fun for me because I'm always curious to know the next time it will come up with, everyday comes with a new heartache or excitement with Bitcoin. Maybe it will be less volatile in future but it will take a long time maybe in the next 50/100yrs, but ontill then Bitcoin's stability is just a myth.

Bitcoin will never be stable because bitcoin has a cycle, therefore bitcoin will not be stable plus bitcoin trading is quite busy so that it helps price fluctuations.

moreover if bitcoin is stable it is very unattractive to many traders and investors, so if it were me, I would not be interested if bitcoin had a stable price, except maybe in stake can get rewards that will be an option, but it will not be as much as we expect if the price is stable.
we can be sure that bitcoin will not be stable forever because the price is according to the supply and demand market and also with its decentralized nature makes Bitcoin very certain to be unstable.

As I have noticed so far the price of bitcoin has never been stable and will never be stable. Because the price of bitcoin goes up every second and down every second and Every day the price will never be the same.

Moreover, The price of Bitcoin is very dependent on a lot of news such as when trump ratified or enforced a strategic reserve where the price of bitcoin increased. Even when saylor bought bitcoin and announced it on twitter the price of Bitcoin Also increased so that it was difficult to see the price of bitcoin stable for a long time.

For me, the instability of the price of bitcoin is why bitcoin is widely glanced at by many investors to trade or make bitcoin a long-term investment.

The answer is no. When you visit a market with a lot of price changes due to demand and maximum supply at time you can't get that product for a fixed price in a long time. The price will remain dynamic from time to time. The same thing is applicable to Bitcoin but in the Bitcoin market the price changes in real time. You can get it cheaper now while in the next few seconds it is higher than what you go it.

Traders and investors are always buying/selling which is another reason why Bitcoin prize will never stabilize. Unless it is regulated by a central authority which is not possible.

OP am sure that you know what volatility is all about and I also that you're aware that volatility is Bitcoin thing, so if Bitcoin is known for it's volatile nature thats to say that there's no need of thinking about about something that may not come to reality, op there's something I want you to meditate on which is, what if Bitcoin existence is centered on it's price instability, so are we to expect it to be stable, I feel you're thinking too much though it is good to ask questions and also think abstract sometimes to get the views of the community at large but you should consider the concept of Bitcoin before saying somethings, volatility is one of the concepts of Bitcoin followed by it's long-term concept too, op price correction must occur from time to time, upsurge must take plece too, each of this events has what it does in Bitcoin investment, so for me I have accepted the fact that Bitcoin is a volatile asset and that shouldn't be a hindrance for me since this volatility is all about the dip and the upsurge which I think is perfect for an investment like that.

It's true that if Bitcoin's price becomes more stable, it will no longer be an attractive investment option, but at the same time, it will become more attractive for global adoption by large institutions and governments.

Also, if it becomes more stable, it will become a very attractive option as a store of value and a hedge against inflation. In my opinion, these are far more important than investments that rely on volatility, as this will allow Bitcoin to fulfill its primary function for which it was created.

I agree with you - when bitcoin stops providing high returns, it will become a great store of value for large corporations, both private and government. I don't see that scenario happening in the next 10 to 15 years - but it is one worth thinking about. Bitcoin has been a high-yielding investment asset for a long time - so if its annual returns are reduced due to mass adoption, then investors may have other avenues to get a decent return. I know this has probably been thought or stated by others - but it is the truth.

High annual returns are part of the reason why many people are willing to invest in bitcoin - but if annual returns get lower, then I believe investor interest in bitcoin may also decrease. But again - this is not going to happen anytime soon.

People who is novice in bitcoins investment they're the one that doesn't know the price stability in cryptocurrency investment more especially in bitcoins, but an experienced investor do take it time to invest,  and an experienced investor will make a research to know if it purchases bitcoins now, if the price will decrease in next month or in next two month,  so base on the research will determine his comfort to purchase bitcoin.

Another thing is that, do not invest on Bitcoin under durance, because if you invest on Bitcoin on durance you will not be able to calculate exactly if you will make a profit on the process or not...its very clear that price of Bitcoin is always rotational, the price doesn't stay consistent it always interchanges, so therefore any investor have to make a proper investigation before they could invest.

Bitcoin cycles can change or even disappear because there are no regulations or laws that guarantee that the Bitcoin cycle will always repeat itself. Just like what is happening, we hit ATH before the halving and there is no guarantee the bull run we are expecting will repeat this year. Things may change more in the future as bitcoin becomes more influenced by governments and the economy. But bitcoin will never be stable, simply because bitcoin is being used and turned into a financial market, and financial markets will always be volatile because that's how it exists.

Bitcoin will not be stable, but volatility will certainly decrease and returns will diminish over time as it matures. At that point, many investors will lose interest but I don't think that will happen anytime soon, it's still too early to talk about bitcoin becoming more stable and becoming a store of value like gold.

Yeah it eventually will stabalize.  For one more volume needs to come into the market.  More volume more stable pricing.  Second is all the crypto gambling (i.e meme coins) needs to eventually go away.  People move money in and out of bitcoin to buy and sell these complete scams and ponzis.  Once those 2 things happen i think we finally see a "normalized" market.

There is also one factor, which is everyone can invest on it and the market is open 24x7 that's why it will never be stabilized. When some part of the globe is sleeping, the on the other side, they are awake and they are the one who are doing the trading.

And with that cycle is intact or at least it has never been broken yet, the price is going to be very volatile and unstable. And that's one thing that we love about it, I mean we can make money out of it's volatility.

I am not sure you understand the view point here. We are bringing possibilities to bare... As investors, we think and envisage long term. Every visionary knows that when the adoption of a commodity is uncertain, the volatility of it's price increases. But when demands increase, prices surge (for fixed assets). but when demand climaxes price stabilizes. The amount of bitcoin that will ever be is fixed at 21m, and the hope of a long term investor is  a general adoption of the coin for a maximum surge in price and conversely maximum profit. But this same general adoption will also spell less volatility which will make bitcoin a means of storing assets rather than a good investment option. That's what we're bringing to bare here bro...

I believe you just moved slightly away from the subject. We are discussing price volatility here and not profit making strategies. I am of the opinion that somehow, someday in the near or far future the price of bitcoin will stabilize and it may not be a good investment option at that point but a good means of preserving assets.

However if bitcoin is generally adopted worldwide it's prize will become more stable and the volatility factor that investors leverage upon will fade

I don't think the volatility of Bitcoin will fade, Bitcoin is not a stable coin so even if it has been adopted globally, there will still be market volatility because some people will surely sell their bitcoin which will cause a decline in the price and some investors will still buy when the price falls and the price bounce back again and it continues in that upwards and backwards movement which is the volatility. Surely, volatility of bitcoin will reduce but it will not fade away totally.

Bitcoins volatility is more or less linked to the fact that it is decentralised, Bitcoin
is open for buy, sell and trade 24, 7 365 days per year, the markets dont close for the
weekends.

Buy, sell and trades happen without the need for a broker and can be transacted
with as little as $10, so viven all this volatility wont disappear.

Historically Bitcoin's market volatility was viewed as negative but there are plenty
of experienced traders making good profits based on volatility. We need to see
that volatility as a feature!

Even if in the future the price of bitcoin becomes more stable - but bitcoin remains a good choice for investment or as a hedge. As long as investors can still generate returns from bitcoin and traders can still make a profit - then as long as bitcoin will have enthusiasts. I agree that maybe the returns are no longer as big as before - but bitcoin will still be a good choice for most of them. Low profitability will not make bitcoin a bad choice as an investment asset - even fiat tends to give lower returns if you have a deposit in the bank.

if there's bigger market cap and bigger trading volume it can stabilize easily, bitcoin isn't too different compared to the like of stock or even gold, its just that the mcap is still too low for it to stabilize but eventually it will once bitcoin grown several times higher in both mcap and volume compared to now which I speculated will happen maybe in 2035 with bitcoin's cyclic nature and linear growth of price.

eventually the whales' money will have smaller effect to manipulate the market and will be even more viable to be used for practical use like transaction even though it already is viable right now.

While the law of diminishing returns has been seen quite clearly when comparing past cycles, right now we are in a very unique period. The economic landscape is shifting, the world is eyeing Bitcoin and viewing it in a much more positive light. Bitcoin's price may stabilize after whatever happens in this next 3 - 10 years. I don't think we are at the stage now where it is nearing a point of stability. I think a wild ride is ahead over this next 1 - 3 years. It could be a very interesting chart to look back on (I suppose, when isn't it with Bitcoin :) )

And over time, Bitcoin could become stable if Bitcoin is widely distributed and also commonly used as a means of payment like fiat because increasing adoption in that area has the potential to help Bitcoin become stable. But it is not yet known when this can happen and whether Bitcoin will last long, it could happen even though it is still difficult to predict.

And Bitcoin has so far had a very volatile nature which causes its value to fluctuate and this is what makes us not know for sure whether its value will be stable, and as we know Bitcoin is unpredictable and if in a very long period of time it could happen and Bitcoin becomes stable.

isn't it just supply and demand? Granted that's also pretty hard to identify but I reckon it's going to be pretty obvious at some point when the entire world (or at least a large majority of it) starts using Bitcoin as a MOP in their everyday life. Cause at that point you bet Bitcoin is at the very least stable enough to be used as such. Granted I don't think that's possible, or at least I don't see it happening since the market will always have that level of volatility in it. And there's always some amount being lost due to forgotten wallets so even the 21m supply dwindles down and if demand just keeps going up, then the price would still inevitably move.
Yeah that is how things in the economics works but there must be more with BTC to make its value more volatile. We have lead though like it is decentralized, so it is not that hard to identify it. There is even no need for us to use BTC first but we can just read its label but using it can allow us to be more familiar with it.

Even though BTC is volatile, it can still function very well but if more people use it, we might feel a change in its volatility like we can see more stableness if not more volatility because many people are going in and out or making a transaction. People are now aware of the potential of BTC so they now care more about it and we can assume a lesser lost BTC's.

I don't know for sure, but maybe Bitcoin will never be stable. Bitcoin is mostly traded and most of it is held by big investors. The volatility of Bitcoin makes it attractive for more people to own it. Even if Bitcoin is officially used as an alternative global payment method, I'm still not really sure its value can be stable. Even if it is possible, who knows how long it will take to make Bitcoin an asset with a more stable value.

Bitcoin is not a stable currency, no one should expect to see Bitcoin at a particular price for long. It's going to be a default to the nature of Bitcoin which has been about volatility, on a normal terms if the price should go stable how will investors makes profits, those who bought higher are going to be stuck low for long, this will cause investors to sell out and by selling too many returns the market down to it's volatile nature.

There is going to be much selling in the future, investors who bought years back are definitely going to keep selling, when ever the price tries to stable, there will be either sell pressure or investors trying to buy more including the latest advancement where institutions are beginning to keep Bitcoin as a currency they use for services. Many factors will contribute to why the price of Bitcoin can't be stable.

Anyone who yearns for bitcoin price stability does not understand the essence of volatility. Stability will not help at all, but volatility does. Bitcoin has been known and established due to its high volatility factors, so if we are going to get rid of that, I’m afraid that bitcoin will end like fiat where its value depreciates in the long run. Instead, just accept that volatility is for bitcoin, and that’s the main reason why bitcoin keeps reaching its new all time high. Without volatility, bitcoin may fall boring and will never be interesting as it is.

by then when market cap can reach as big as gold, then bitcoin can stabilize, as of now I think BTC will have the characteristics of stock, price action wise.

If we do speak about volatility then this is the main reason on why people do invest on crypto, it doesnt matter whether it is really that on Bitcoin or with altcoins then the main reason on why people is here because of that volatility because this is where they do make money and thats why there's so much interest in speaking about investment because of this reason. If we do speak about volatility then this is something that will really be normal with crypto not unless if we do speak about stable coins then the price will really be that stable. In regarding about the question about stability of Bitcoins price? It would never happen and it would never be. There's always that movement because there are buyers and sellers on which its normal to have the movement on which it might be that minimal because its moving sideways but still it does have that movement into its price and we cant be able to call it stable in that way. So therefore it will really be just that understandable about their main differences.

Agreed, it could take decades for bitcoin to equal gold's market cap and start stabilizing, 10-20 years is a pretty short time. Bitcoin is arguably the fastest growing asset ever, but that doesn't mean it can maintain that growth momentum consistently. Like any asset, the more mature the asset, the slower its growth rate.

It took just 10 years for Bitcoin to grow a thousandfold from a market capitalization of just a few million dollars to a trillion dollars. But in the last 4 years (2021-2025), its capitalization has only doubled from 1 trillion to 2 trillion. And this growth becomes even more stagnant as capitalization gets larger.

I hope that you're both right, stabilization of Bitcoin will mean it will be less interesting and that life changing opportunities through volatility and adoption might be less abundant or frequent as they are now, so it would be great having another decade or two of upside volatility. I do still think 3 - 10 years is a more realistic timeline for Bitcoin to become mature enough to be considered stable. Adoption happens fast when something is on the global stage, which Bitcoin now is.

About NVIDIA, it has been fluctuating because of the fresh demand coming from the blockchain and artificial intelligence scenes. I personally wouldn't compare Bitcoin to something like NVIDIA, or use NVIDIA's existence and how long it took to go parabolic as any kind of indicator of Bitcoin's lifetime.

You should always never expect that the price of bitcoin become stable, because through its volatility lies the opportunities for it investors to make profit, some will find a good entry position therein while some will make a selling decision to later invest on it, bitcoin has never for once ceased to be volatile, we are the one that should learn on how we can make an investment and take it on a more understanding pattern for profitability as the market is.

Most of us invest in bitcoin instead of any other asset because of its high volatility, and because we can leverage it to make high profits. Therefore, no one expects bitcoin to stabilize but it is inevitable, Bitcoin will gradually become less volatile and generate less returns. That has been happening, and that is why we no longer see bitcoin making 500% or 1000% returns like in the early cycles.

But as some have said, it will not happen immediately or in the near future, we still have time to take advantage of its volatility to make more profits before it becomes mature and stable.

Naturally, if the Bitcoin price was fixed or stable, I would never invest. If I can't make profit, why would I invest my money here? And if everyone like me accepted such a principle, then the price of Bitcoin would not exist. It would have no value. That is why it is unreasonable for us to expect this price stability. It is natural for the price of Bitcoin to be bullish and bearish at times, and in this bullish and bearish market particularly by using the volatility, some people make high profits by investing, while others lose their money by selling. This is how an investor receives profit and loss from the investment.

In a market where volatility is high, I guess this kind of question could be too far to happen. Unless if bitcoin loses its volatility factors and shift into being centralized where fixed amount is predicted from time to time, then I’m certain that stabilization will come into realization.

However, as far as my knowledge is concern, bitcoin will remain to be unique from fiat, where its value could appreciate more in the next couple of years, all thanks to its volatility nature.

It will definitely stabilize in the next 3-10 years, it is happening and that is why we can see the profits from bitcoin getting smaller and smaller. We can only expect double or triple returns from bitcoin investments these days instead of x10 or x20 like many years ago. But to say that it will be as stable as gold and no longer attractive is another matter, it will take a long time to achieve.

However, if bitcoin stabilizes, it will no longer be attractive to invest in, but using it as a store of value will be very attractive at that time. If bitcoin stabilizes, I will look for alternative investments but I will also use bitcoin as a safe haven instead of gold as it is now.

Your explanation about the price of Bitcoin is very right and very perfect because I believe that everyone will never invest more in Bitcoin if there is no decrease and increase in the price of Bitcoin. So the volume of Bitcoin purchases will also not increase and that will affect the value of Bitcoin itself so that the expected price stability is not at all suitable for Bitcoin. Because stability is only more suitable for fiat currency or gold or even other properties. Meanwhile, for Bitcoin, there must always be an increase and decrease in price because this is what has made Bitcoin attractive to everyone, so that every year there are always new people who want to buy Bitcoin for investment and other things.

Volatility and commodities are one of the main features of bitcoin Before investing, there are stages that need to be considered in crypto. The beauty of investing in bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies certainly has risks that must be passed and the profits obtained are not so easy.
How to know when the time has come for us to apply wisdom is very complicated because prices are always fluctuating without being able to be precise.
That way, of course, the price of bitcoin will never be stable every time corrections continue to occur because volatility will also always be there forever.

I think you need not to be worried about this cause definitely Bitcoin has surpass all other currency and I think it's the situation of an adoption that's creating a slow measure for growth, but regardless it's a gradual process that needs time and patience. Meanwhile for the price to be stable I think we need to look at understanding the markets trends, then we also need to check out for the level of risks that's been involved in it, with this we can tell when to apply some wisdom.

definitely, at some point it will reach diminishing return point due to the large capital needed to pump which mean a lot more adoption across the world need to happen, undeniably though bitcoin adoption potential is still large, plenty of nations can join and BTC market cap can easily sky rocket.
so I still believe bitcoin market cap can still grow in the future, but to be as big as gold really need serious adoption.
maybe in the future where cashless society is phenomenon that is happening around the world, then people will get used to it and embrace bitcoin.

I recommend just trying your best to stay calm, exercise more and find your inner confidence that things will turn around eventually. For me I don’t even look at my wallet anymore because right now it’s a bit of a waiting game until we do start another 'bull run'.

The price of the coin is already stable if you look some indicators like price range or outliers. As you may know for a long period of time (months) we have seen mostly the same price..
Its a missconception and a big error if people believe that the price of a product or something valuable couldn't change...everything will change on planet hearth...
of course with bitcoin we expect that price in the long term will be more higher or at least with a better power purchase...

The price of gold is indeed unstable but the price tends to be more stable and maintained besides gold has a lower risk compared to Bitcoin whose price can change at any time even in just 24 hours so we cannot compare Gold and Bitcoin in terms of price stability, there are times when Bitcoin experiences a fairly sharp decline and at the same time it is the right moment to buy, the price will never be stable because it all depends on market conditions through supply and demand.

Very hard to compare the price of Bitcoin to Gold in terms of volatility. It's obvious that Gold is more stable now as compare to the last 10 or 20 years. And then we have Bitcoin who is traded all over the globe in a 24 hour basis.

With that, it's very hard to see Bitcoin very stable, there are a lot of traders, big and small, entities, government and others which are into the market. And investors learn to embraced it already and we think that it's one value that we have appreciated and know how to take advantage to make profit.

If there is no volatility in the Bitcoin market, investors will not be able to buy and if the Bitcoin market is not rising, they will not be able to sell, as a result, the buying, selling and holding of holders depends on the volatility in the Bitcoin market.
The price that has increased in the Bitcoin market since the past is less than the current price compared to the past, because of the decline in the price of Bitcoin in the current market, many investors have been holding for a long time by dipping in. Therefore, the more volatility there is in the Bitcoin market, the more holders will continue to increase the amount of Bitcoin they buy.

What will happen is that there will be a tendency to stabilize as the years go by, as is usually the case with new assets that succeed. I think it was Saylor who said he expected bitcoin to go from the current 55% percent annual CAGR to gradually decline to stabilize at about twice the CAGR of the S&P 500. We can't be sure if these numbers will be true but I think they serve to paint a workable picture of what could happen.

It depends how it's played. There are scenarios where those kind of gains might be achieved, but not in the way one would expect (at least, no one is talking about it in this sentiment). I'm inferring a correctly timed buy after a catastrophic crash, from the bottom to the top (similar to that of someone entering at 15-20k and getting out at 110k+, 5x gain!)

I agree Bitcoin becoming a store of value is where we are headed, more certainly than ever...I look forward to seeing the decentralized finance capabilities brewing in the background coming to the foreground too.

Just as the price of dollar amongst other currencies continues to fluctuates Bitcoin would not also be stable. I'm not saying Bitcoin price is determined by other currencies stability. But it's just a fact , there are allot of Factor that contributes. There's market changes as well, allot of inconsistencies so it's impossible for the price of Bitcoin to be stable.

If the price of bitcoin becomes stable, then bitcoin will never be used as an investment again. Everyone will treat it as an alternative to fiat as it was introduced to be. But I’m also scared to say that many people will not want to own one again because of the investable features that it’s has is amongst the reasons why many people buy and own bitcoin. Bitcoin stability cannot happen and I don’t see it happening because when it does, it may lose its relevance in the face of many and that will be a very big setback to how far this bitcoin technology has come. Manipulation and many things are inevitable in bitcoin, so its stability is not something I think will ever happen.

It's hard to say if the price of Bitcoin will ever stabilize because like you said, it will be limited to 21 million coins but then there are lots of other problems like lost coins. What if the wallet with thousands of Bitcoins get hacked and those coins will get lost? If the demand is high, then this will positively affect the price but if someone steals thousands of coins and decides to sell them, then it will negatively affect the price. Over time, lots of similar events will happen because some people lose access to their wallets and some people invest money in scam projects.

You can't compare gold to Bitcoin in this case because even though gold is physical, its supply is unknown. Bitcoin is no different from gold in real life. Since we all moved in virtual life now, Bitcoin became our gold.

I believe that Bitcoin will remain volatile. It might stabilize after a few decades, but this stabilization will not last for a long time, there will be waves of pump and dump. I like the fact that Bitcoin is stabilizing in a high price range, it's not going down to old prices like 10K and 20K. Once it grows up, it stays steadily high.

I think thats impossible when its measured in dollars because that is no fixed measure at all, when we consider also BTC is really about the world not the old system of dollar centralization then its even more true that a stable number is unlikely to occur.

I think a stable trend could be true at times, when that occurs people over accelerate the trend until it becomes unsustainable so we do tend to break the stability on purpose by speculating.  Bitcoin doesnt try to supply more when in demand, most commodities can react to increasing demand but its not doing that on purpose so I suppose as more of the world becomes aware of ways to use BTC its only set to be unstable with a positive bias upwards alot of the time.

Maybe when it is too huge? I mean if it ever reaches that high then there could be a point where it will be harder. Remember, moving from 1 dollar to 2 dollars, made the same increase as moving from 100k to 200k. And yet the required money is the same. And also, going from 100k to 50k, is the same as going from 100 bucks to 50 bucks, but requires so much more bitcoin value to be sold. So that means, the higher we go, the better stabilization we will have that is the most important part.

If we can make this work, then we could make higher prices will be more stable. However, we are not there yet, we are still small enough that one big move could shove everything aside. If we could have this, then it has to be after we reach over a million.

Bitcoin will not be stable as long as market performance remains the same, supply and demand are the main factors why bitcoin will never be stable in price, it is just an illusion because bitcoin is not measured in the value of another item so that demand will affect the price of bitcoin.

honestly in this world nothing is stable, even the FIAT currency that we use depreciates over time and the gold that we consider stable in fact has a slow increase in price, then what do you expect from an asset in this world that is categorized as stable.
Right?

Don't think about the "FACTORS" that you are saying because it will not happen.

First, many people sees Bitcoin as a form of an asset rather than a currency, and as we all know, asset classes are volatile in nature so for Bitcoin to be stable, I don't know how it will happen, but maybe peg it into something like a US Dollar, and of course it will not happen. Second, price will not stabilize because many traders are trading it. That also affects the price of Bitcoin because of the supply and demand.

Bitcoin will never be stabilized. Even those fiat currencies out there are never stable in price, and it's the same with Bitcoin. I don't see this ever happening, and I guess it would be better to let Bitcoin be volatile than not because volatile makes investing more exciting, right? :D

This instability is what underlies most people investing in bitcoin when an asset is unpredictable then the profits to be obtained are greater such as in bitcoin and other types of investments or other types of crypto but it should also be remembered that the risks we will get are also high. So yes bitcoin will not be possible to be stable in the future and I agree with your statement that investment becomes unattractive and this will affect our investment profits.

Bitcoin is known for its volatility, and this is also the reason that makes it more interesting. Making the price stable won't make it good, but rather lead to more backouts and investment pullouts. Why? Because of its volatile nature, investors make money from it. The ups and downs are a gaining opportunity, and that is why they prefer having that situation.

Seeing its price stabilize is impossible because, in the first place, it was not designed to be seen like that. The volatile nature of this coin remains just like how we looked at it in the beginning.

nothing truly stable, but there are certain threshold where people consider an asset to be stable, like how gold is, it's considered stable asset although price is quite volatile, fiat is also the same.
at some point BTC will also reach that point of equilibrium. I believe there will be time where price doesn't deviate too much because big market cap and it's hard to move the market and become less volatile enough to be considered stable.

Who said that the price of Bitcoin is stable? I have never even found smart people who say that because they have known for a long time that the price of Bitcoin will never be stable. And because it is unstable, the price of Bitcoin has increased and also decreased so that the two conditions will continue to be exploited continuously by people who like Bitcoin. As for currencies like the dollar, it is indeed a currency that has a stable value and if you see an increase in the price of the dollar for recent conditions, it is because your country's currency is experiencing a decline in value so that it seems that the dollar is increasing. Hopefully you understand what I have explained.

Definitely the price of Bitcoin will be unstable for some reasons but regardless investors tend to keep investing and that's because they track the events of the markets pending when it's favourable so they can amount to huge profits, meanwhile there's so much beauty in investing in Bitcoin looking at from it's volatility but it's the unstable rate that makes one thinks Bitcoin isn't favourable for investment. Yeah taking note of this factors you mentioned are steps that will guide one in this journey.

I don’t hope to find the prize of Bitcoin stable at any point, nope not in my generator for sure. If the laws of demand and supply still remains constant where, you have a reversed mode to its operation as per the rise and fall in prize due to market demands, then Bitcoin would continue to be unstable.

The stability of Bitcoin prize would be the doom of holding and I don’t think any of us would like that very much: we all want our holdings to bring forth profit.

The moment Bitcoin becomes stable, it turns into stablecoin like USDT or USCD. This is not how Bitcoin was designed to be as the volatility is what shows that that there is speculation for it as the market participants are many and engage in the buying and selling of it. If there are more buyers and buying in the market, the price of Bitcoin will rice and if in the next minute, sell pressures outweighs the buy pressure, the price will drop, this is how commodities that are traded in the free market behaves and Bitcoin is one of such commodity. The volatility of Bitcoin is not supposed to bring any form of fear to the investors because it is part of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin holds volatility in high esteem as a factor and culture of it's functionality, it is flexible to adapt to those factors that can influence such volatility and the reason while new investors will keep coming in to the environment, Bitcoin price can never be stabilize I must say that such mindset can only be an illusion because the reality holds it that Bitcoin is volatile in nature. If the price of Bitcoin becomes stabilize the the interest of investors will be gone.

The price of the coin is already stable if you look some indicators like price range or outliers. As you may know for a long period of time (months) we have seen mostly the same price..
I guess it can be considered stable when we take into perspective other coins. Because other cryptocurrencies are incredibly unstable that it might be making bitcoin look stable but the truth is if you see it is still very volatile. It is unlike fiat still.
Quote
Its a missconception and a big error if people believe that the price of a product or something valuable couldn't change...everything will change on planet hearth...
of course with bitcoin we expect that price in the long term will be more higher or at least with a better power purchase...
Of course even fiat's value can change but it does not change in a day or in a week. It takes a long time which is why crypto is different.

Because most investors today are interested in Bitcoin's volatility. If Bitcoin is finally used as legal tender for everyone in transactions, it will also not make Bitcoin stable.
Bitcoin's value tends to increase, which makes it very suitable for investment. Despite some people who do not like this view, the fact is that currently, more people see Bitcoin as a profitable investment asset. If it becomes stable, then all that happens is diverting the money we have.

Bitcoin is never going to stabilise. Just know that if bitcoin ever stabilizes, then it will no more be an investable asset. It will be used more as an alternative to fiat currency than being used as an asset to be invested on. You should not think of that because the thought of that only might discourage from investing in bitcoin. If bitcoin was a stable coin, I don’t think the mass adoption of it we have gotten so far would have been possible. When you’re explaining bitcoin to the people just as another currency that is decentralized, privacy inclined and security cautious, not most of them will find interest in it, but as an asset you can invest into and profit overtime, many will keep coming to accept and own some of them.

I agree that bitcoin will never be stable, but in the future, it is believed that its volatility will be lower than it is now. If it may have been realized that governments have considered bitcoin as their reserve asset and if many countries realized this approach, then the price of bitcoin might be a little more stable. I have noticed that there are concerns about it in the future, some are starting to think about it now.

But who knows, bitcoin will never be stable even though investors may not get the same high returns as recently. If conditions like that occur in the future, then rest assured bitcoin has reached a better stage of adoption. So far bitcoin has been adopted as a means of payment in several countries, but this is still limited to a few countries.

When BTC goes sideways I feel worse off somehow, it should improve business for many but I appreciate more the constant change for interest personally.  Either up or down its creating an opportunity for us of some kind, either its become too cheap or the hype drove it high and its a decent price you can take if you like.   Purely stable and sensible Im not sure would be to my liking apart from I know it would help the business to have stability.

With the dollar so uneven from rabid politics, BTC cant look too bad currently imo.

Even gold with its massive market cap and is a strategic reserve for many countries across the world isn't stable price action wise but if you look at higher time frame it will look stable, stable is in the eye of beholders. same with BTC.
Current price is already quite stable if you look at BTC back then before the market cap is this big and compare it to now. but for newbie it may not look stable enough.
I expected price of BTC to be like gold, stable but not really stable because it's an asset and unlike stablecoin, because BTC's value coming purely from market and market driven.

Ther will never be a time that bitcoin will become a stable coin. People are of the opinion that bitcoin price will extremely stabilise when there is massive adoption and that will attract more institutions to adopt bitcoin. I don't see that happening. The more people join this bitcoin bandwagon the more the price will rise, that will be the resultant effect we will see.

Bitcoin might also get to the point where developers will vote to increase the bitcoin fixed supply and that will raise crisis that will lead to a major hard fork. Apart from this, I don't see bitcoin price stabilizing in the future.

Can't deny that it's definitely volatile, but it's the same level of volatility as other risky asset, people also literally losing half of their stock portfolio value with the tariff alone.
Since bitcoin unlike gold that's literally a precious metal with physical form, the only way for bitcoin to become stable is to have market cap so massive its as big as gold.
By then you'd see bitcoin become more stable because adoption increase, holders become more decentralized than ever and so on.
It's too early to judge.

The thing is that nobody knows the price of Bitcoin what it will yield because the price always interchange, you may see the price of Bitcoin at range of 100k today and before one week the price maybe higher or lesser than that, so I believe that price of Bitcoin is rotational and it doesn't be on one range or same range from my perspective.

Volatility is one thing that makes BTC not be in one place and keeps new people especially, more or less interested in it. Many skip core values of BTC.

That's normal, and that's probably how it would be in the future, albeit it the motion which BTC would take would be smaller with each cycle.

I think when people predict bitcoin will be stable in the future, they are comparing it to the stability of gold, not to stable coins. This has been happening, bitcoin is becoming more and more stable. In the past, Bitcoin price has increased by millions, thousands of percent and helped many people earn millions of dollars with just a few hundred dollars of capital. But those days are gone and what we get when we invest in bitcoin these days is only x2 or x5, and the returns will probably be even lower in the future as bitcoin gets bigger and bigger.

Bitcoin is becoming stable, and that is inevitable.

Just as change is constant this is how stability is to Bitcoin, you can't predict it's actual state or price overtime and it's been this way. Yes volatility is one measure in which one get to invest in Bitcoin amidst it's fluctuations rate and constant change in price. And again overtime we've experience or observed the adoption of Bitcoin in an increasingly manner but it doesn't guarantee any stability in price so I'll say in regards to this it'll definitely take a long while for it's price to be at a stable rate.

Good premise for predicting a price is this idea of balance is quite fair.   Also have to consider a bias or trend to the upside and so on but right now I go with the balance idea.
Here is my take for the ladder up from late last year and my very simple counter for that would be we take the ladder or even fall back down.  Here BTC likely stablizes and then I hope a proper rise later, seems to be the case it will happen:

Volatility is one of the main features of bitcoin and for that, there will not be any time that the price of volatile assets will ever stabilize Regarding the issues with why we hard Volatilities the answer is that volatility gives investors two signals when it uptrend volatility it gives holders the chance to cash out their profits.

When the volatility hits bitcoin to a downtrend it gives investors the chance to buy bitcoin at a discounted price then, so we need to accept both side effects of volatility in the bitcoin market.
That is the actual fact,  bitcoin can never be stable in price . Volatility are part of what makes bitcoin more interesting  and profitable.

Bitcoin is a digital asset that you buy and hold  expecting of making profits in return, if  the asset is in a kind of fix or stable price state, how do you make your profit?

However, I don't think bitcoin will ever be stable or fixed in price or value because volatility is a major characteristic or feature that makes bitcoin more interested an d profitable. Thank you.

We know that Bitcoin was not meant to stable, volatility has been a thing for Bitcoin and as a matter of fact I don't think anyone will be expecting a volatile asset to be stable just like that, I know sometimes we think in a wide range to get the comments on what people thinks about the subject matter, just as you said the beauty of individuals considering an investment in Bitcoin lies in it's volatility meaning that many bitcoiners are into it because they knows what volatility can do, that's to say price can drop and rise at anytime and I believe that's the hope of many investor and also the reason they got the courage to invest in Bitcoin in the place, op don't you also think that if Bitcoin becomes stable, it may scare people away from investing in it.
I think volatility is even the reason why Bitcoin is still in existence so why will I even think that Bitcoin price will be stable, if I should think that way that's to say that am trying say that Bitcoin purpose of existence should be defeated.

As long as there is still a volume of demand and supply for Bitcoin in the market, its volatility and marketcap volume will always be different from each cycle although the level of difference may not always be the same. But it will always be influenced by the amount of demand and supply from the market because that is what sometimes makes the price of Bitcoin unstable and continues to have a level of increase and decrease at all times.

If someone is looking for stability then he can opt for schemes like investing in bank schemes where there is no volatility just a constant fix profit. But keep in mind that profit given by bank is proportional to inflation rate. The volatility in price of Bitcoin is like a double edge sword, it can swing in both directions. The price of Bitcoin was around 25k in July 2023 and in less then two years it jumped from 25k to 109k, in other words it's the volatility that has taken value of Bitcoin so high. Not many things in human history has gone so high in such short duration and credit for that goes to bitcoin volatility.

I never hopes bitcoin to be stable, if the price is stable then bitcoin is no longer the most sought after investment asset and may have become a reserve asset for various countries. Price volatility is expected by investors and traders and thus both can get good return in the short term and in the long term. I can imagine that if bitcoin becomes stable, then many investors will look for other investment assets because the profitability they get from bitcoin is no longer as expected.

So far, bitcoin's performance is still quite good and its annual returns are really worth the risk that investors consider. If the annual returns become lower, then the price of bitcoin means that it has reached a level of global adoption as a store of value, no longer a profitable investment.

As institutional interest in Bitcoin increases, of course, price stability will be achieved and volatility will decrease. Physical gold also has volatility, but this is acceptable for investors. Because states are very generous towards physical gold and they accumulate gold. Price stability will be achieved thanks to the states that have started to adopt Bitcoin. Bitcoin's divisibility at the satoshi level will facilitate its use. In this way, it can appeal more to the general audience.

If Bitcoin is one day globally accepted and becomes a stable store of value, then its earning potential will decrease, and value retention will become dominant instead of speculation.

So if bitcoin becomes stable, many people will leave and move to alternatives but many people will come to it as well. Like gold, it is considered a stable asset but still many investors seek it and they are even the largest and top investors in the world.

I also don't like bitcoin being stable because that makes bitcoin less attractive but even if it is stable there will always be other people who need it.

For investors seeking profit from volatility yes, Bitcoin will become less attractive but for people who are into business and wanted to integrate Bitcoin as mode of payment, stability means a secure value for them.  Thus, these kind of people will be attracted to Bitcoin.

I also don't like bitcoin being stable because that makes bitcoin less attractive but even if it is stable there will always be other people who need it.

Stable or not, I see Bitcoin as attractive in either way.  Since no matter what is the volatility of Bitcoin, it will attract groups of people that fits into Bitcoin's market value fluctuation.

When it comes to Bitcoin price stabilization, it is quite hard to tell since Bitcoin is in an open market and is driven by supply and demand, and other outside factors and is susceptible to the influence of the worlds economic events.

True!. If we wont be seeing Bitcoin to have such volatility then it will be that totally having no attention that it would get if we do tend to compare on what it is now. We do know that on the moment that we do touch up this market then the primary thing that comes up into our mind is on how to make profits on which means that if there's no volatility then there's no way that we can be able to make profits. This is why it will be that a wrong thinking or mentality that you've been that trying out think about Bitcoin to stabilize its price because this is only that possible when dealing up with stable coins. If you've been thinking about stability then its better not to touch up crypto but rather stick into fiat because this is what you do want on this case. Its understandable that people do want up this kind of stabilization because they do want for Bitcoin to be accepted as legal tender or some sort in speaking about global adoption. It cant just that easily be applied or accepted because of that volatility and decentralized feature on which we know that there's nothing we can do about that and the fact that this is the main feature on why its been mainly supported by the community on which it is that totally opposite on what some people do want. They do need up that kind of realization at least on what they truly that wanting. If they can be able to see up such thing with Bitcoin then it is just ideal that you should be dealing up with other stuff since it cant be possible on this one when dealing up with crypto in overall. This is why its that important when you do deal up with something then you should be that doing up some research first on how you do deal up with things accordingly on which you cant just that dive in without having the slightest idea on what you've been that dealing up with something specially if its volatile then you do need to have to set that risks management if you dont want to have that huge loses incur.

Stability is too far to be realized for bitcoin. Volatility gives us the biggest advantage, so why would we aim to see its price stabilized one of these days? Those who are still thinking about that are clearly not bitcoiners. They are not seeing bitcoin for long term, so most likely volatility isn’t a big deal for them.

However, for as long as bitcoin remains volatile, price stability won’t come into reality, it will just remain an unspoken dream forever.

We won't see it coming yet, and we can't expect it either. The market has been known for its volatile nature, which makes it hard to believe that it could change in the future. As we believe that this kind of market behavior doesn't just offer a big chance to earn more profit, it is believed that it gives more interest.

Despite the uncertainties of some individuals due to its volatility. Other people also make it a reason for coming. If you are a trader or an investor, the ups and downs of prices are an opportunity to make money. That is why they prefer seeing the market more volatile rather than stabilized.

I am sure the higher we go ,the more stable we will become. Because those 500% changes can't happen at the top prices, even right now, so we are not going to see that. But the 20% type of changes will stay, even if we reach like one million dollars per bitcoin, we could drop to 800k, that doesn't sound too bad, and could go back to a million dollars, so those kind of movements will keep on happening.

We can't use bitcoin as an asset forever, it can't be just something we buy and hold and wait to make money forever, it will go up for a while more but it can't go up all the time. So, the best way to move forward would be allowing the price to get calm and then we can start using it as a currency a bit more commonly.

"Volatility,"the reason been why so many of us doubt that Bitcoin will hardly make it up to stabilize over time.Almost every Bitcoin personell believes that Bitcoin cannot navigate to that stability demand.

Not right now , not in this cycle but for sure in the next 5 to 10 years we would see very less bitcoin price volatility as it is now. One reason would be the increase in bitcoin adoption. As more world population would be using bitcoin, the influence of whales would be quite less and it may not be possible that the handful of people could pump or dump the price. Also I think the bitcoin halving and it's effect on price will be less.

Expecting Bitcoin stability is otherwise a hard on and it's stability isn't based on its adoption, as we all know things change in respect to time so there's no permanent price for things as this, let's look at fiat it keeps depreciating overtime, talk more of dollars that's having some slight increase and decrease so i doubt there would be stability of price of Bitcoin.

The price is not going to ever stabilize, as that’s not part of how Bitcoin is suppose to be it’s a volatile asset which it should remain so no matter how we try to keep the price in one place it’s not ever going to work, price can just remain standby in one place for some time but it will remain their for long, and if eventually it do become stable which it’s not going to happen I don’t see any extraordinary wisdom that I will need before I invest as it will be obvious that I can only choose Bitcoin for other purpose and not for profit making again.

One of the most attractive aspects of investing in Bitcoin is its volatility. Bitcoin is sometimes bullish and sometimes bearish, and Bitcoin continues to move between these ups and downs. Those who are investors benefit from Bitcoin investment through this high volatility, while some also face losses.

Many of the world's big individuals and institutional investors are now interested in investing in Bitcoin because they think that it is possible to get several times over the long term by investing. Investing in Bitcoin has now gained a lot of popularity among institutional investors. Not only institutional investors, but now governments of various countries are also trying to invest in Bitcoin for profit. The demand for Bitcoin has increased a lot among everyone, which is why people will be more enthusiastic about investing in bitcoin in the future. But if Bitcoin had stabilized, its demand would never have increased.

Bitcoin cannot be stable, the only effect on the market when all Bitcoin, (21 million) as the total supply. In 2140 Bitcoin won't be stable but the volatile performance and movements won't be much and large. 2140 is a long time from here, by then we won't be alive to witness that low volatile nature of Bitcoin, only now we can enjoy from Bitcoin is doing the right thing now it is much comfortable with price, now we have the time to enjoy huge volatility from the market, it is best to take every opportunity, early investors with strong holdings hands are going to reap the market early and better.

Bitcoin is so popular today because the Bitcoin market is volatile. If there was no volatility in the Bitcoin market, Bitcoin would never have reached this price and its price could not be expected or predicted to exceed 500,000 or 10 lakh in the future. Due to dumping and pumping in the Bitcoin market, people can invest in Bitcoin and people can take profit by selling their investments. Therefore, one should not expect a stable situation in the Bitcoin market and if it is stable, then Bitcoin will have no value because if it is a stable currency, people will not invest here and why would they invest because a stable currency will never grow.

"Price stability" exists only compared to a chosen base currency, and requires a lot of steering effort. Bitcoin was designed not to have any steering mechanisms (e.g. to deliberately adapt currency supply) that would be required to do so.

It could not be 100% stable but it can reach that point where price swing isn't so significant in my opinion and we could pull it off once we become 2nd ranked asset by market cap.
If you see the current chart, bitcoin's volatility isn't as great as it was back in the days.

So, if what we mean by stability is just slight volatility not perfect stability then it's still achievable.

As long as there's demand and supply for Bitcoin it will continue to be volatile, this is the major factor that is driving it's adoption. If Bitcoin price remains static it'll seize to become a store of value because there won't be any demand for it. But if that happens it's value will drop and people will FOMO and but hoping that it will rally, when this happens volatility will start again. Anyhow we look at it so far Bitcoin has a limited supply it'll continue to be a valuable asset because it's seen as a scarce commodity. If something is scarce it's demand will increase and it will always reach ATH.

This is very correct. Bitcoin acceptance is a product of its Volatility and would drop in any event of continuous stability. Bitcoin is an asset and not just a currency, so you can't expect it to be stable. If one needs a stable currency, let him go for the fiats. Even if it becomes stable, there would be a mass withdrawal which would still open it up to volatility.

In a word, Bitcoin will never be stable any day. But yes Bitcoin can fluctuate in a specific place as we can see a few days ago (104k - 105k). But Bitcoin will always be unstable. The way Bitcoin has become valuable to all people day by day. So everyone will hold Bitcoin and Bitcoin will be more upward. Since Bitcoin will not be more than 21 million, no matter how much Bitcoin is sold. Large companies will buy it effortlessly and the BTC will rise up with twice the power. That's why Bitcoin will never be stable.

Short answer: no.

Long answer, can you imagine what it would take for bitcoin's price to have at least relative stability?

For any asset that has a stable price there are institutions that control supply and sometimes fiddle with demand also. For instance, the FED as any central bank can step in and liquidate reserves to try and support a currency if it's about to collapse.

You can see this effect on the Russian rubble after the war started its value against the Euro very briefly went way down, then Russia liquidated some reserves and the price recovered to levels even better than before. We'll likely never have such an institution in bitcoin unless some of the largest holders decide to hold gold reserves or FIAT. Which sounds a bit absurd to begin with. I honestly don't think it's happening ever.

It will fluctuate less, but stablize? nope, same as tradfi don't stabilize.

And yes this is good..

Volatility is a factor in Bitcoin's price never being stable, if you look at the history of Bitcoin prices since it was first launched until now, Bitcoin has experienced an extraordinary price increase. Volatility can also give different feelings to Investors, on the one hand, investors will be very worried about their investments if the price goes down, on the other hand, volatility can also provide opportunities for investors to gain huge profits if the price continues to increase.
Another reason why Bitcoin prices are never stable is because it runs on decentralized Blockchain technology, so no one party can control its price.

Fiat also has no guarantee to always be stable because fiat can also be eroded in value by inflation and also by a sharp increase in the price of goods. And from several assets that I often monitor for their stability until now is gold because gold is still relied on by some people as a store of value that is so stable even though there are always increases and decreases in its price in a small percentage. As for Bitcoin, it is more of a future asset that can be relied on to be able to have sufficient profits after we collect it slowly through purchases.

No currency is stable - its price changes all the time. Bitcoin, fiat, gold and altcoins are all volatile - but their volatility varies. If you want to hold bitcoin for the long term, then by all means hold it, but also hold other currencies like fiat or perhaps gold. Bitcoin tends to be seen as a future investment asset and some people see it as a hedge - it has very good returns in the long term, whereas gold and fiat do not perform that way.

I'm not sure you and most other people can transact without fiat in countries where bitcoin or crypto is not legal as a means of payment. Fiat is needed in such cases - but bitcoin can still be used secretly, especially if you are willing to do so. But for the long term - I think bitcoin is the most recommended compared to gold or deposits.

You are right, bitcoin is not legal tender in countries that do not legalize it as a legal tender. If you visit my country, I will make sure you convert your bitcoin to fiat before you make any financial transactions or purchase anything. Bitcoin is legal as a commodity asset and can be traded and invested in, but it is not legal tender. I hope the regulations will change and become more bitcoin friendly in the future, but I don't think that will happen for a few years.

The price fluctuating due supply and demand all the time reflects that bitcoin will never be stable. Its volatility can be lower and it can be higher for some reason, but bitcoin price stability will never be achieved. Even if bitcoin is adopted as a global payment instrument and all countries have made it a strategic reserve, I still believe that its price fluctuation will never disappear and bitcoin will never be stable in price.

If the price will ever stabilize, what are the factors we need to look out for as investor to know that the time has come for us to apply extraordinary wisdom ?
There is actually no possibility that Bitcoin will ever become a stable currency. In fact, there is no such thing in the Bitcoin protocol.

And if something like this existed in the Bitcoin network, Bitcoin would never have reached its current position so quickly. If bitcoin had increased in price at an average annual rate of gold like 7%-10%, then it would have taken more than 10 million years for Bitcoin to reach this price.

So, I think it's sometimes not a wise idea to waste time worrying about all these things.

We'll never know. This is also what I can see because the market cap of Bitcoin is still very low right now and there's still lot of people don't know what Bitcoin is, we should consider also how Bitcoin is decentralized especially it's trading to different exchanges which is 24/7 compare to other markets.

None of us know the future, but Bitcoin's own characteristic never say that Bitcoin can stabilize in the future.

I always believe that the price of Bitcoin will always be on the rise as you said there is very few people knows about the bitcoin till now, since it will constantly increase and at the same time the adoption of Bitcoin will increase, it is easy to assume that the price of Bitcoin will also increase in the future, but yes, this does not mean that the bear season will end in the Bitcoin market, of course it will also exist.

It cannot stabilize perfectly at present because doing so would increase its worth far more, raising the price.   To introduce much larger stability in BTC then seen in previous years naturally makes it worth more, so what we actually would have is some kind of oscillation between the two effects and volatility could only really dissipate over many years.
Im sure many would track the trend of lower variation in pricing and so actually increase their reserves or allocation towards BTC, certainly people watch all kinds of assets for dangerous variance vs their leveraged risk and debt obligations; an asset with highly variable price can become a liability to those who require high liquidity and solvency to their leveraged cashflow.
It cannot be a simple on off but I'd expect BTC does alter its movements alongside a larger user base and presence in the world.

And one of the major challenges that Fiat is always facing is the challenge of inflation, and the only people who have power over inflation are not more than the people themselves through investing. And since the only solution is investing, and bitcoin is one of the options being traded out for because of the kind of nature it has, it makes more sense so that one way or the other, people will find something to do to help find a way to ease the inflation because this is something that no one has power over. The only way out is for us to actually invest. And for people who don't want to invest in Bitcoin, the only thing they can invest in is also gold. These are ways that can help them become a better person.

I would argue that it should ever rise since it is designed to combat inflation.  Dips occur when a few mega rich sell off big chunks to fund with cash.

look at it for last 59 days.  100k to 110k pretty much stable.  until the next leg up.

What you need to look out for is long term investment that will assure you profits that would seem like a stabilized rate, yes it's good to be optimistic but at the same time we are aware of the up and downward movement of Bitcoin price and hence it's going to take along while for it to approach a stable state which is why is advisable to buy and hold for long term.

Volatility is a negative to businesses, its part of why people dismissed BTC for so long expecting it to collapse from this negative perception of its instability.  Its true to some extent, you cant plan a price that can double or half and move about that much within a year when a business often needs to have a six year plan.
However the world itself is increasingly volatile and currencies are not what they once were for stability so BTC is just one of many constantly changing variables.  I would argue if BTC was stable, it'd absorb all that trade done on stable coins so increase in worth by that amount which is alot surely.
