AdventureCoin (ADVC) is a gaming coin based in a realm of 8-bit and 16-bit fantasy RPG gaming.  I grew up playing RPGs on the NES and Sega Genesis including Dragon Warrior, The Legend of Zelda, StarTropics, Final Fantasy, Shining Force, and Warsong.  You could escape into a fantasy world of being the hero, slaying the dragon, and saving the princess.

You can earn ADVC through dungeon quest rewards (mining), by embarking on a number of side quests, or by visiting Discord.

​Additional methods of earning ADVC are actively being developed.
However, we will be moving slowly, and that is by design. We want to ensure we do this right and that means we are not going to rush things.

-Why 10% Tax on Block Rewards?
Coins that rely solely on community donations for enhancements experience slow growth and roadblocks getting listed on exchanges and deploying additional wallets.

Staff and Moderators have traditionally given to the community out of their own pockets. We want to ensure coins are available to keep the community engaged and coming back while attracting and retaining dedicated developers and moderators.​

-Why CPU mining and not Scrypt?
Growing up we did not have much money.  One Christmas my brother and I got 1 gift - the NES with Mario and Duck Hunt.  We played that so much.  I look back fondly to those days.  The first RPG I got was Dragon Warrior.  I remember hiding in the toybox and peeking out while my dad navigated the Dragonlord's castle and then finally beat him.  We did not have the internet back then.  Just Nintendo Power and the Nintendo Hotline - neither of which was in the budget.

So where am I going with this long and heartfelt story?  The main quest of ADVC is mining, and I want mining of ADVC to be accessible to everyone - without needing to buy specialized equipment or deal with hefty electricity bills.  CPU mining is available to everyone with a computer and is old school, like the best gaming generation.  :)

I hope the launch is very soon,,, but the truth is I don't see the need for so many tests (this is a clone of a clone) tell me why not create a different algorithm......if they have the ability to change some parameters they can also build a new something

Some of the source codes we are using are broken or do not provide the best user experience.  Taking things slowly to help mitigate the need to make major changes post launch.

You can now mine AdventureCoin in TNN miner, using the --advc flag. On my 5800X, I get about 1.6 KH/s over sustained periods. The optimal thread setting seems to be For example, I mine with 5-7 threads on the mentioned Ryzen. Detailed usage info can be seen in the release notes.
