It's not a new thing anymore. The rate of scam these days is extremely high. But one can aswell prevent himself from being a victim. Malwares most times are difficult to detect except you are someone that's very good with his device security. Sometimes we literally give these malwares permission to install without reading through to know what we are installing on our devices.

Most modern devices usually denies external installation and requires our authorisation before it proceeds. Again, avoid storing too much personal data on your mobile devices.

Download whatever apps that you want from the official site and stop using the same phone that you are using for your crypto related stuff and for surfing the internet in order to avoid any mistakes of falling victim to malware attacks. I don't share app with people to avoid story that touches.

Our security lies in our hands and that's why we must take every prevention measures to make sure that we keep our wallet safe and secure from any attack. Don't save your password automatically with your browser password manager, but write it down and put in your password manually.

We really needs to be careful with scammers, they are everywhere and are looking for ways to attach their phishing links so that we will not notice the links that will install malware into our devices that is why we need to always do our best to make sure we install every software we want from their official website; any link that will redirect you somewhere is risky because it can be used by scammers to install malware into your device.

This method above is new to me, although I am not a fan of downloading images online, but this can easily install malware into someone’s device because you will not notice it at all. The best way to avoid such things is to have an active antivirus in your device and windows protection softwares so as to avoid such malwares.

In recent times, the attacks of scammers are increasing, on the contrary, people are also learning the techniques to protect themselves from scammers. As scammers are upgrading in the knowledge growth cycle, people are also upgrading. But there are still many people who recklessly install applications or put themselves in danger by accessing unknown links. My highest advice would be, keep the device that contains your important information and Bitcoin, that is, the most important device, as far as possible away from the internet connection and keep it hidden from others.

Or even if you use that device, use it with extreme caution. Sometimes while watching videos on social media or visiting social media, we see some unwanted linked ads, these ads are the most harmful. Avoid these ads as much as possible and never enter those links or register with greed. I even think it is best to keep the device as far away from small children as possible.

It's quite concerning that scamming gets updated everyday, after thinking that the systems are over people sit down to think of another one to defraud people..if they can spend hours to think of such brainstorming things why can't they just do something legal? Well, the system has really corrupted the minds of people, they feel like success can't be achieved legally... downloading images from sites you are not sure of is very risky and one another thing people should be careful of are the ads that pops up saying they should click and claim their prize, if you go on with the process of that you might get hacked.

Many scam techniques are out there and they’re always changing and spreading out so quickly. You need to be very informed of all latest developments used by scammers to scam off their victims. Just when you’re happy that you’ve found a new hack that this scammers use, you’ll see another coming to you with another technique that if you’re now aware of can easily scam you. The digital world is evolving and so it everyone in it including scammers. We have a very big responsibility to keep our data safe and avoid it being infiltrated by the internet. This is important for us if we want a seamless experience in the space which are free of scammers.

I don't know how useful antivirus are these days because I've done without them for several years and the consensus then was that antivirus gives you the illusion of security when in fact, you're at your most vulnerable state so I won't rely on those.

What I do recommend though is instinct and caution in all our online activities

— I don't download images unless it is very necessary.
— Same as above for links.
— Any scammy/sketchy/sus looking mails or messages are deleted on sight so I don't have after-thoughts.
— As a general rule of thumb, anything that sounds too good to be true isn't true.

It is being said that old hardware can not fight modern day threats. On daily basis, different forms of scams are unfolding and without proper precautions, one becomes a victim. Updating systems defenders/antivirus for both mobile and desktop/laptop are things that can help combat these threats, while precautionary measures is put in to mind. Downloading of images for me is only when it is important, maybe, making a design that needs images from the web otherwise, I don't. Another thing is clicking on unnecessary links that pops up on ads.

You do not only need to be careful of links sent to you by strangers; you also need to be careful of links sent to you by people you know, that is, your friends and your family, because sometimes these people forward unsolicited links to you thinking they are links that will benefit you without knowing the risk involved in them. In some other situations, the people we call scammers are still humans; some are friends and even our family members, so having that knowledge at the back of your mind, it is very important to be conscious of who you choose to trust because scammers are not aliens.

Verily scamming strategies is quite undisputable to be underrated and it doesn't feel save enough to say our can't be broken just because we've some proved anti scam softwares in our devices. The best way to stay free from the online scam is to stay away from any source of information specifically links that comes from the unknown or even untrust source.
It's just unimaginable that photos stalled in our device can be redirected by the programmer and then have access to your Privacies without our consent. But the truth is that; it's a reality and possible to happen.

This type of information is not new on this local board, but thank you for sharing it. Any newbie from this local board that will fall victim to a scammer, I am confident that the person is not active here. Buddy the thing is that the more scammers antics are been identified, the more busy they are making sure that they come up with new ways of doing what they no how to do better,  we just have to be very careful out there, they internet space aren't safe again and that's more reason why we should even ask questions before downloading or doing anything that may likey lead us into being scammed, mate some people are blessed, they know so many things but the problem is that they prefer to go about this things in an illegal way just as you said which is very bad.
For me since I know what's at stake while surfing the internet, I have chosen to be extremely careful infact I don't tap links just like that because I understand what thses scammers can do, things have really gone very bad in the society where we found ourselves and people now see these things as opportunity to perpetrate evil in the name of making illegal money, I advise again that we should be more care whenever we find ourselves in the net, we should also not download untrusted apps because of the potential risk involved.

Exactly, the more scammers strategies are been revealed and exposed the more they are coming up with new ones that they will use to scam people. Is just like what very Dark Man was saying, he said since the governor has declared to hold anyone with dreadlocks as a suspect then those suspect will go and shave everything and appear good and sweet to the point one can not even think of suspecting them. But the truth is no matter how they exposed or revealed this, everyone can not get to see or be aware of it that is to say that people will still fall victim but the age or Era we are, everyone is suppose to be careful and wise enough not to click anyhow link.

I figured out that even the ads that pop up on our phones are bugs that are being used by scammers to hack into our device unknowing to us. Scammers are coming up with new ways to defraud people and it's quite unfortunate that they are succeeding. Do not download just anything you see on the internet, there are certain applications too that are not also advisable to download, Nigerians download any type of loan app they come across not knowing that these apps are designed by scammers.

With the increase in scam rate, we have no option but to go back to the stone age, it is irrelevant/unrelatable as many of us has never been a victim. Scammers are upgrading if we don't follow their part to be like them in updating what we know about privacy and how to avoid scam attempts, we will be a subject of attack for them once they notice. There is no limit scammers don't operate even in what we see as the most irrelevant opportunity, these guys are ready to make use of it. We need to be vigilant as all we do is mostly online or socially exposing us to risks.

Hackers are not only making hacks, they are now building upon old hack and and coming up with new and more better way to reap people off their savings stored digitally. I always advice friends and family to avoided clicking random links no matter how it looks, even if it's a bit churchy, I don't care except it's from a trusted person. But what get me overly annoyed are online site that redirect users to different website without their consent, and majority of these redirected site are either pornographic platforms, betting sites or any random dating site which could be a scam platform without you knowing. However we should be careful with the Internet and some useful information, storing passwords to your cloud is not a good storage medium as it could get hacked.

I guess this is a message and warning alert to those people who usually downloads images anyhow from Telegram and Whatsapp groups, because I literally can't think when last I downloaded any image from a totally unknown Telegram or Whatsapp group. Because the other groups I I'm currently are my business groups, and nothing more, knowing fully well how scammers have try to update their skill to steals people's money, despite people getting sensitive daily about the risk of scamming activities. Our safety is the most important thing we should think about when using the web because if anything happens to our account that will be all for us .
Using or downloading from an unauthorized web or apps exposes us to dangers of malware and virus  attack, which can't be replaced when being attacked or causes a lot of damages to our system or our accounts, also scammers uses these unauthorized webs to scam and hack your account, therefore your safety and security measures is very important also needs to put precautionary measures into place  into if you really want to be successful .

Although wetin you bring so no be new think and everybody go done know about this thing already but it's good as you brought some reminder to us to help us remember say make we they take the security of our device serious unto the high rate of scams this days. Make we dey careful of the kind groups we dey enter and how we they allow anything download automatically for our phone because new ways of sending virus attacks they come out steady. I no go suprise if video too follow. WhatsApp gets automatic download options, make we try disable am so that we no go dey download everything been sent to the various groups that we find ourselves before somebody go target you and you fall prey to their tricks.

Honestly it's not a new thing to some of our members here though, he good if we dey always remember say scammers fit attack us at any moment via our devices, he go dey make us dey security conscious and dey careful of anything wey we wan do in terms of any financial transactions, because everyday on a daily bases scammers too dey learn more ways to make people wey dey careless fall victim, as such, as them dey upgrade, we go dey notify our love ones of any new discovery of their scamming patterns to dey careful of any strangers.

Even apps from official stores sometimes exhibit these fraudulent acts, some contain spy cats that uses optical character recognition to scan your gallery and attempt stealing seed phrase stored as a screenshot or saved as an Image and share it with their creator.

The best solution is to limit the apps we install on our phone or like you rightly said, you can have a separate phone or laptop explicitly for your wallets and banking apps in order to further improve security on a personal level.

Another way to prevent data breach is by denying remote access to online meeting participants in apps like Zoom, Meet, e.t.c since it has been proven that remote access to your PC can be achieved through remote meetings on these platforms.

Telegram and Whatsapp are major platforms for these imposters to target their preys. Then, the market is volatile and we should also know our stands in the system. Becoming more vigilant, we need to abide by disciplinary rules and keep basic settings for ourselves. Why stumble upon application from unknown sites? Even though they're ads, I don't share any prospect idea of imploding data, rather I make my own crucial research and become more successful in our dealings.

Hacking all depends on the messaging point of contact as in where exactly you are chatting with the stranger. The stranger might come as a business associates in your mailbox, a hookup agent sending you her sexy picture inform of a blur image for you to click and view properly, a p2p trader messaging you on a p2p message point by sending you link of proof of payment where you need to click, download and view the screenshot, so many of point of messaging center. It matters a lot.

You just have to know this and be extra careful to not click and download any link sent from who you aren't aware of his business relationship, you just have to be sure of the the person you are dealing with before you have to download whatever.

Yes...we truly need to be more vigilant because it will be so painful to lose all you have labored under two seconds...

We also need to know the kind of people we should trust especially when it has to do with giving out our phone.... either to repair, charge etc.
