Title: Best under 200W card? Post by: miner765 on April 02, 2014, 02:05:10 PM Which card would you suggest to mine on for under 200W power consumption?
Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: tinus42 on April 02, 2014, 02:43:42 PM The Nvidia GeForce GTX 750 Ti. It reportedly only uses 34W when overclocked and mining scrypt coins at 300 KHS.

Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: miner765 on April 02, 2014, 07:40:29 PM So what's the current best combination up to 200W if you have all the other components? I could fit 4 more cards into the MB.
Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: precrime3 on April 02, 2014, 07:42:50 PM BEst combination would probably be the 750 ti. the BEST single card would probably 7950.

Post by: VirosaGITS on April 02, 2014, 09:49:41 PM Might be good to note that the 750 ti run at 30s watt because its bios locks it. You can get a small but signifiant but not watt efficient bump in hashing power by flashing the bios. It will then use 50-60 watts.
Google 750 ti rigs for more information. The page in question has all the numbers layed out in 3 pages articles with a 6x 750ti rig. Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: King Coolian on April 02, 2014, 11:23:36 PM Hi miner765
Well, measuring as usual, from my experience: 1. Price 2. new/used card 3. Hash-power 4. watts So the winners are: 1. R9 270X/270, approx. 185 watts. Can be still found new. Nice hash(420 on average) 2. 7790. Almost perfect: approx. 85 watts and 220 kH. Fairly cheap, can be found new if u are lucky. 3. 7770 and 7750. I'd say those are just "for fun" nowadays. 80watts and approx. 170 kH. There is a bunch of other older cards. Mining on any Nvidia, except reported above is a LOL as per me, in matter of particularly ur question. Hope this helps ya. Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: precrime3 on April 02, 2014, 11:36:02 PM r9 270 gets the same hash (if any worse, its like 5%) and is cheaper. Biggest advantage is it only uses 1 6 pin vs 2.

Look for me on there, same username!
Cheapest reliable price (from a decent brand I mean) is $180 for a MSI V305 r9 270. For r9 270x, its around $220. So yeah if you NEED that 20 extra kh/s or so and willing to pay more for PSU's electricity bills and more money as its more expensive go ahead ;D (don't!) Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Are pulling 98 watts each so total 588 watts. Plus I only have to run one rig. Vs 3 broads, cpu, psu, ram, etc. six 270 are cheaper then 10 750ti. Either way I think it's awesome for 300kh/s for roughly 34 watts. It'll be interesting to see what bigger Maxwell gpu can hash. Also I just realized I stated the incorrect hash rate for my 270. It's 2600 MHz/s Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Post by: precrime3 on April 03, 2014, 02:04:21 AM So what's the current best combination up to 200W if you have all the other components? Its not even clock speed of the card as that would mean that the gpu be running at 2.6 GHz, which if true your a true Overclocker :) please explain. Title: Re: Best under 200W card? Leaning toward the r9 270 (non x, 270x really exists for no purpose besides making sales on stupid people) If you can find th 7950 at a decent price, go for it. As its out that 7950 is king of hash, people are charging so much for the card, even used. Title: Re: Best under 200W card?
