Title: First Bits? Any support left? Post by: OgNasty on May 13, 2025, 06:53:22 AM I don’t think the major block explorers have supported search by first bits for quite some time now. I don’t think we need to get into the reasons why, but I’m wondering if any service out there still supports a search by first bits, even if it is just using historical data and isn’t kept up to date. Anyone know of such a thing?

But it's easy to miss because the partial match addresses don't always show, the firstbits has to be clicked sometimes. Another one is walletexplorer, but it's more of an address-matching tool than a blockexplorer. It's also limited to one result even if there are two or more matches. Title: Re: First Bits? I haven't had an address that I 'd search for but couldn't find it. Of course it doesn't work for addresses without any transactions. But that's obvious since they haven't been broadcast. Now I can look at the coins I lost the keys to many years ago. :) Trying to decide if I should attempt to repair an old hard drive to try and recover the coins or not. Looks like I should probably check into it. I’ve been hanging onto it for more than a decade but I think the time may have finally come. |
