I love to watch football and also I love the excitement about earning some perks from the games that’s why I also place bets, the season is all fun for me from the first game to the last, I am big on a lot of football matches but I have bigger love for the top five leagues.
I have lots of fear or things that can drop my happiness level a bit and one of the is when the football season starts ends. I don’t know if I am the only one that feels this. Yes the season hasn’t ended but should may 30th after the Uefa champions league final match and the thought after that is actually not something I am happy about lol.
So as a football lover how is your season break like? What do you do to support your craving for football or do you just find another sport or entertainment to cope with during this time?

Are you able to earn this season from betting on the matches?

Season do not end for me because there are some other leagues that I can use for betting. The only thing I will miss are the matches to watch.

Also there are preseason matches that I can bet on. I do not like preseason matches and friendlies which will make me prefer some lower leagues but not too low leagues.

I think what will be missed is the excitement from the top leagues or 5 leagues you also talked about namely EPL, la Liga, Seria A, bundesliga, and French league. Gamblers miss watching them but they manage with gambling from the Asian leagues, friendly matches etc. There is always something to gamble on only the fun watching those favourite leagues will be missed. So for gamblers seeking for making money from gambling, they still have to go on gambling but fun seekers will miss the top leagues more.

Every football fan feels the same way but for me I wouldn't say I take it too personal, it's not like I make a lot of money during a football season lol. We just miss the thrill, excitement and sometimes disappointments that comes with it. From next month the season should be over and the fun is going to end for a while but this is a normal experience because we have been witnessing It for a very long time.

Sports betting for me ends when the season ends... although in my beginning stages of betting I made a lot of Profit from minor leagues like the Belarus league...This made me believe that winning most times isn't dependent on the clubs, sometimes you just need to get lucky...we are just used to the big five leagues but funny enough these leagues surprise us a lot of times because they underperform..When the season ends I just take a break.

When it comes to football, you have lots of choices, unlike how it goes with the NBA. When the season ends, you will really have to go on a hiatus before the season starts again. I've seen a lot of forum members here who are busy the whole year because there are so many football leagues that they are following. I think you will just have to do the same and learn more about other leagues so that you can keep on betting even if your favorite football league is on hiatus.

Me too I also do bet on other Leagues especially in South America but I have come to discover that those lower leagues are easily manipulated and match fixing is more dominant there than in the top league. I have actually seen lots of time where very high odds unexpectedly won a low odd, football can be unpredictable but the circumstances surrounding this event in the lower leagues are very questionable.

Yeah, the football matches are very entertaining, and for betting, it's a good opportunity. You can entertain yourself and, at the same time, earn from it. The leagues you mentioned are also good, and they are at the end point, but there are not just these leagues, there are more Asian leagues that offer the same betting opportunities. So, for a gambler, I think the opportunities never end, they always have something available. In this time of globalization, which has grown so much, I don't think gamblers will struggle to find opportunities or stay focused on just one league.

First of all, this is also common as same experience with so many gamblers, because during the season, there are lots of sports and gambling engagements happening around, news to talk about and as we also know that the champions league is the superior  of them all, so it's the most talk about of all other leagues, but the beauty is that you will still not going into missed it for long because another one will soon start before you know it, but before then, you can as well keep up with other leagues.

When seasons are over, I just hope to view those periods as moments for one to also take a break with anything football activities. The season may be over but we still have the preseason matches and also the transfer window opens where we get to analyse how teams will lineup their squads for the next season and see the ones that will have more potential to win. It’s all fun during the time of matches but I don’t see the break as a very long one that will make one feel reluctant or not having fun during that period to make one feel bored. It is time for break, so I think taking a break should also be something to feel relaxed about for a while before the new season begins.

I understand the feelings when the top league games are about to end and after they have ended because staking bets becomes so boring due to the fact that the major leagues will be on break till August, about 2 months and some weeks. However, as a gambler i always find a way to bet on other leagues such as the Australia league games because they scores a lot of goals so if you bet on options of over goals and BTTS, you can win bets on those leagues but the only problem is that they don't get big odds. Anyways, the only thing am gonna miss is watching live football matches but gambling continues on the league and games that will be available while the top leagues games will be out of the market.

Championships happen practically all year round, both here in Brazil and in other countries and continents. It’s easy to find another one to bet on and watch. Unless you’re a fan of a specific championship, like the Champions League, Club World Cup, Premier League or Bundesliga, for example, in that case your only option will really be to wait for the new season to start. I bet on several sports, so I don’t have this problem, but I really like the season in Brazil, there’s the Campeonato Brasileiro, which lasts almost the entire year (10 months), and before that the Campeonato Paulista (held in São Paulo). It’s practically a year of football for us here…

I watch whatever is available. Sports channels will find a game that’s worth watching as that’s how they attract views. If none of their content interests me then I’ll go watch latest football news. These news are almost as entertaining as watching a game. Every new transfer has an entertainment value. Team X signed a contract with coach Y or player Z… These changes force me to think about the future of that team. I can watch the people on TV discussing these news for 10 hours straight. It never gets boring. Sometimes watching these news is more entertaining than watching the actual game tbh.

One other thing that makes football very exciting and intriguing to watch is the seasonal breaks we get. Once a particular season is over, we look forward to the next. But in between those breaks between the top leagues, there are other smaller matches a football fan can watch to keep himself excited. Preseason matches, national and international matches, replays, and many more. Even street matches are there to keep us entertained. Football never ends. A true lover of football will not only be attracted to top league football.

European team start to play friendly matches in July. The break is no longer than 2 months... but If you gamble in many competitions (based in several continent) you can play as much as you want. Plus there are minor series... juniores...  Or big tournaments like World Cup.
Personally it doesn't change too much to me if there is break in games and I cannot gamble. Of course "I miss the action" but for the rest its absolutely fine ;)

Well it gets very boring I must admit. I remember the times when I first started gambling and sport betting were massive back then in the early 2000-s and slot machines not that much, where I live they got a huge boost in 2004-2005 and up until now so in summer when major leagues ended I became very bored. I started finding comfort in Nordic leagues at that time as Swedish and Finnish leagues were regulars during the summer season at that time, don't know yet as it is a long long time that I only gamble slot machines and even slots I have stopped. I think you become a better bettor when you learn these less well known leagues as if you are able to win bets in these leagues I am sure in major ones it becomes easier. Of course as long as referees will exist surprise results will exist too  ;D.

I don't only bet on premiership, there are other leagues and even locals that I watch the matches and also bet on them times without season of the other main leagues, so whether it's premier League season or not, I still bet on other league that are on. It's not just the main league season that you can bet on except that's just your only focus and for people that just prefer it, when the season is not on, they will definitely have other activities to attend to or they will watch replays and then stay out of betting for the time being.

This is nothing but the real truth, there's always football matches from other leagues even after the European league ends,  most times other league starts during the break of European league  the only reason why we hardly talk about the league is because they are not as popular as the European clubs but they are not different from what we have been gambling on.

For the easier predictions and winning, I doubt if it's possible because gambling is very difficult to predict if it wasn't so, gambling companies won't be all over the world today.

It's like that always at the end of the season it always feels boring and feels like the end of the road for football entertainments, but that been the reality we can still while away our time with some other football game's and in other leagues so yeah we can't say it over because a season just end.

This is one issue I've not really thought of in a long while even though I sometimes experience this boredom moment during football breaks. It's okay to take a break when the season is over except you are a bettor that pay attention to those minor league, most people do not pay attention to minor leagues so if the season for the big leagues are over, they take a break and I do same because of no too much idea about the minor league, if someone is betting on them, it's mostly on luck and because the person just wants to make profit.

When the season of the major European leagues ends, I have been taking a vacation from betting. Hmmm, well, I love football very much but from all that you've said here, it shows I clearly don't love it as much as you do, because for me, seasons coming to an end has never been an issue to me, and have never been a reason why I should be sad, as a matter of fact, I've always been able to shift my attention to other forms of sporting events that is available during football breaks, and I've always enjoyed those sports as much though I don't place as much bets as I do during football season since I am more knowledgeable about football players and teams much more than in any other type of sports.

So in the nutshell, it is commonly said that whatever has a beginning surely will have an end, so whenever the football season begins, it is expected to end at a set time, I always have that at the back of mind and this helps me not to find it too hard to deal with when the end finally comes.

As someone who loves football & its association with gambling, I don't feel anything when the season ends. If it ends then I'll fill my free time to gamble somewhere else like playing slots or live casino. Work on yourself, if lack of football league brings you sadness there is a problem in your real life, something is clearly very wrong, it seems to me like you are not happy in your real life.

I have different type of hobbies, like gambling, gaming, movies and writing, when I don't find joy in one I move on to others, it's not that hard I believe, I know some gamblers that likes to bet only on sports games and once the leagues are over they stop betting but they have other hobbies too.

Life is not all about sports and betting. I don't know if you are married or if you have a family, or what you do for a living. For me, yes, I do love sports, but that does not really mean I have to be sad when a particular league ends. I have a family to spend my time with. I would recommend that you focus on building your career. If you have enough money and you don't want to do anything except watch football, it is up to you, mate. But find something else that you can enjoy.

Well, I think is a normal thing because is not a new thing anymore, it have been in a existence that season normally come and go. You are absolutely correct, finding time to watch other sports like basketball, table tennis, even football games in other leagues like in our local league is also a very good way to not miss the international league when the seasons come to an end, this is part of what keeps me grounded when the season ends and till it begins again.

I used to be someone who really loved football, and always followed several matches to place some bets, so I understand how you feel, but unfortunately I am no longer so interested in football these days. At that time, I would usually stop following football matches temporarily when the season was over, and I think you also like and are talking about several leagues or matches that are often watched by many people in the world. So I looked for other entertainment than football for a while, and usually more interested in slot games, or sometimes watch a fight match to place a bet, but unfortunately I feel that not all fighting matches are interesting to follow.

Seasons breaks are really slow time. There are FIFA windows for international games but they are not as interesting as the club games and don't pack equal display of skills and hence excitement. Except for world cup and continental cups like Euro, other football tournaments and friendlies are not as entertaining to watch. Yes I know the players needs some rest and some time to get along with their national teams but for gamblers like us, its a slow time.
Take an example of 2025, we don't have any significant tournament on the season break. While 2026 is not going to be as dull as we have world cup in the season break which would keep us contained

I sometimes feel this way too after champions league comes to an end, I feel more entertained with champions league but once it's over I have no choice but to watch some new movies, I think those who are obsessed with football will have a hard time moving on, it's the same reason they feel angered when the game doesn't go their way.

Yeah there are other leagues around and across the world but the question is, are they as interesting as these ones you just mentioned? Can we see the intriguing and suspension these top European leagues gives us, I really don't think so? The thing again is the players, these other leagues don't have the kind of players these top European teams have and that's why players in these low leagues always wants to play in one of these top teams. Seriously, it's really kinda boring to watch these other play after the European league season break kicks in.

Hey, if you're really a fan of a specific sport, you should go watch other leagues too. I am 90% sure, there could be a betting line on those matches from those leagues. Don't just focus on the major league, because this is going to happen every time the season breaks. Try some local football leagues in your area. That's gonna be the closest league you'll ever find yourself familiar with. While waiting for a new season to start, I go on a season break too for football. Though, I had a reduced interest on football, having gotten some heart breaks from my team those years, for now I just watch, on some reason like, a must watch game, which team will survive this battle and for betting as well.

It's a good thing you can enjoy other games just like football, sadly I can't say same since I've built my life around no other sports but football. I hardly understand what other sports are doing, I know it's an issue with my lack of interests but I can't help it as at now.

It's a good thing not to have Monopoly of sports since it's obviously one sided, but the fact that other smaller leagues are still on for longer still gives me a sense of belonging. Maybe I'll try to look into cricket and volleyball going forward.

But you don't need to push yourself into liking other sports. If the season ends, like for example in football, you can just do other worthwhile activities while waiting for another season. Because if you will find another sports but you are not comfortable with it, I guess, you won't enjoy watching and betting in that particular sports. At the end of the day, it is you who will decide what to do afterwards, right?

Am sure lots of people are going to be affected by the season thats about to end,   You are going to see that lots of people are going to divert into the sport which they have little or no knowledge about, or leagues which they don’t really know much about, and they going to start losing money unnecessarily. If am gambling, I do place bet on only football, and I focus on premier league, champions league, FA cup and Europa league. Immediately all this leagues ends, I will reduce the way I gamble, I can just be spending some little amounts of money on other sports just to check them out.

I think it all comes back to each person perspective, after the domestic leagues and European competitions that are often followed end later, we can choose to take a break or bet on other leagues. It's okay to bet on other types of games, as long as you are still able to maintain the limits, and more importantly, keep the initial capital safe to face the next season. Meanwhile, if you choose to take a break, this can be a momentum to try other activities besides gambling. The Champions League and Conference League are not over yet, we will soon witness the final match in the near future. That is the last chance to bet and hopefully you are lucky.

I understand your point though, but we have to understand that the break is very important for players as well the team, in other to prepare themselves for the next season. During preseason the management board of the teams strategize on how to advance the performance of the team to the next level considering their previous season's performance.  This is where teams start bidding for new players and making use of some benched player or academy players to rate their skills and teamwork spirit. So in essence the break or preseason is also a very important time for the team to metamorphos to a better version of themselves.

Yeah it is also frustrating for me, i don't like to gamble on teams in leagues that i do not watch, so as soon as the top leagues go on their summer break, i take it that club football is at a halt. I do miss football during this period, but this year there is the world club cup and we are experiencing it in a new format, so that is something to watch and gamble on the games, at least before the season starts again. You can also try gambling on slot games, it is fun.

Sticking to what you know can keep you static, but sometimes it saves you from unnecessary gambling mistakes. Betting only on what you are familiar with makes it easier for you to analyze the game much more easily than when you go into unpopular and unfamiliar games. You can end up approaching it blindly because you lack all you need, although you can always give it your time to learn about it, but some usually aren't worth it.

In the aspect of entertainment this is the part that would be missed a lot of bettors and football fans, most bettors love the challenge and competition that the big leagues bring to the table...even though the outcomes can be disappointing it's also exciting to get surprised, that's what makes it entraining..like you said, the end of the season doesn't stop anyone from gambling, football games are still going on you just have to choose carefully

Life is not all about sports and betting. I once replied to OP, but I assume he didn't see my post or chose not to reply. I suggested that OP not rely on one sport, especially not on a single league. If he does not like other sports, he could watch movies, go outside, and enjoy himself with friends. Also, one should focus on their work or develop some skills to build their career.

I personally do not even have enough time to watch matches even when my favorite team plays, that's how much busy I am with my works. Sometimes I wonder how people manage to watch ODI cricket matches?

I believe that depends on how you are as a gambler. I know some people who are really in control of their habits, so they pause for a while and just wait for the season to come back. Addicted players probably are looking for other avenues to satisfy their cravings, and that would be a hard thing to control, in my opinion. Make sure that you are controlling yourself and managing risk.

Seriously, for me it's like taking a holiday break from work. Especially now that the soccer system is putting the teams starting to play more soon. The time without soccer games becomes smaller, and that for us, the soccer lovers, is good news. I really doubt though, that the players and coaching staff see it as positively as we do. ;D

You are absolutely correct, a gambler who can not endure some months after a season ends for the season to begin again before he or she starts betting is surely an addicted gambler and such a person need to find a way to help him or herself..

I used to have a friend who was in this category when we were still together before I relocated to the place I live currently, he was a such gambler that if a match season ends, he would move to betting on other sports he has no knowledge of, even to the extent he bets on dog and horse race whereas he knows absolutely nothing about any of this games, he would lose money and come to me for help, I advised him the best I could before we parted, really hope he's doing fine where ever he is today..

You're right as well, getting involved by doing other things is also a good idea for a player's life after the season, I think this also is a good and lucrative idea that we take some time to rest or engage in doing other things than sports activities, this could be having time enough with the family, going on vacation, working on other things that concerns your career and being creative, this will give us a more refreshing moment when the season begins, because we already had enough time on other things during off season.

A very good point there, something we engage ourself in for a very long time non-stop become very tiring and uninteresting over time as time passes, this is why it is very important to take breaks.

Take the day and night for example, God made the day for us to work, and the night for us to rest because he know how important taking a rest is, if He wanted man to work non-stop, He wouldn't have made the night where men fall asleep after a long day at our various working places..

Same applies to our gambling activities during sports seasons, when the season is over, it's time for gamblers to have that rest and wait for another season, rather than forcefully engaging in other sports we have no knowledge of.

Actually what you said is right but in reality not everyone does that, that they will bet on a game or match and enjoy that match at the same time.
Maybe in the case of some teams they can sometimes do this if they have a favorite team, besides if they want to bet on multiple sports or matches in a day then they have to sit in front of the TV all the time which most gamblers do not do. If I say about mine I also do like this.

When the season is over for the matches I think there's need to observe a break and that's what i do, but during the season I place my bets on my favourite sports and get the fun and happiness that I want but that not withstanding if there should be an end in the season I won't panic and I'll definitely see it as a means of observing the moment or let's say having a break in by betting for awhile. But an added advantage to enhance my passion and love for football I'll go with playing with some friends in the neighborhood that's what I love doing.

Honestly I think this break is very much needed, people need to unwind & see what's out there and probably those hours of looking or watching football on the Tele can now mean you taking family out to spend some quality time together, maybe fix that broken plug that you have always wanted to fix or maybe visit a few family and friends when the weekend comes as your calendar 📆 says you will likely be free on those days  :P

I agree. Everybody needs a break every now and then, otherwise they get anxious, stressed and wired-out. All things that can lead to worse things, like bad life decisions and when it comes to a player, bad gameplay. Both the gambler/watcher as well as the player need to go on breaks.


I think the best thing to do is to find some other hobbies in the meantime. Life can't always be about the same thing and nothing else, can it?

Those who bet on sports that they are not familiar with just do it to get lucky... betting when the season ends isn't really enjoyable for a bettor because of unfamiliar leagues and sports but when the season ends doesn't mean that the fun should end, you can still gamble but if you are unsure about what you are putting your money on then you must ensure that your stakes are very low so you don't end up losing too much

It's always a problem to look for a game to bet on whenever the season is over because my favorite leagues are the top five leagues which will all go on holiday. I don't like betting on these small leagues due to the fact that I don't understand the strength and quality of the club to stake my bet on. However, I will try something new during this holiday to see if I will love it.

Waiting for another season is frustrating. The thrills of watching football and betting on these games cannot be gotten from any other form of entertainment. I tried to get familiar with another sport during the holiday last season, but I didn't find any sports that were as entertaining as football. The other football league that will still be playing games cannot be compared to the top five leagues in terms of quality. My option is to follow up on the transfer news and stsy patient till a new session commences.
