Title: Christmas gift to the community: free 0.5 BTC
Post by: Ricochet on December 23, 2011, 09:37:16 AM
Since my previous outreach program (http://gbatemp.net/topic/316671-who-wants-a-free-2/) failed miserably, might as well go here before my charitable mood dies out.
Same conditions as that thread.  First 5 people to post with a valid Bitcoin address get 0.5 BTC apiece. I trust you all not to abuse my generosity, and accounts under 20 posts will be heavily scrutinized for that reason.

I promise to deliver the funds, but please allow me 12-24 hours to do so.

-Ricochet

Clearly I posted this in the wrong section of the forum.  Could anyone suggest a different forum that would be more receptive to receiving free money?

I don't know if there's a better category where you could submit this thread. You could try Bitcoin Discussion, probably.

Here's an address if you feel like sending some coins.

Only selflessness can proof whether you're a human or not. I like your style.

That's the beauty of Bitcoin!  You no longer have to wait several days just to find out if your payment made it through days ago.

I, personally, don't want any either, but if still in the running, consider Bitcoin100: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.msg627057#msg627057

Interesting to see atleast some comments from individuals who are just not aware of what Bitcoin is, how it works or what it can do. Of course, including the obligatory trolls as well I see. ;p

"$2 is not worth using such an unsupported, cheap service."
Its open source and is not a service. And its free to use because some people don't like handing out their money for traditional banks to do such simple, low cost functions.

Too late... Darn, lol...

But it was a nice gesture and useful for those that did manage to get in there in time.

Merry Christmas to you :) (and to all)

As it turns out, Jeremy above used that vanity address, so I did end up donating without even realizing it, hehe.

May we add your name to the list? If it is not already there, that is. Your 1 BTC would already be accounted for assuming Jeremy and Bruno don't mind. I believe we need just 6 more names to hit the 100 mark.

  Cheers

Merry Christmas. I will humbly accept a few bitcents to 147xXQyYKZmfwbQvRcXC186Dpqs5zt2RiT
and promise not to spend it on unsavory things until atleast after Christmas.  ;D

all kidding aside, if it does not get spent it will likely end up in the wallet of some charity.

  Cheers

I will gladly accept any donations, I'm quite new to bitcoin and therefore don't have that many bitcoins. 14tyJ34vPEZ22LtkeJsMGPY2oBKq9VgGkE :)

Actually it's been quite a lot past 5 posts already, so posting any more addresses won't help.

I think myself and some others were posting in response to this;

"$2 is not worth using such an unsupported, cheap service."

hahahahaha

Quote from: wikipedia
"Look at my new tie," says a New Russian to his colleague. "I bought it for 500 dollars in the store over there." — "You got yourself conned," says the other. "You could have paid twice as much for the same one just across the street!"
