just in time for the announcement of the new bundesliga game schedule, it's now official and registrations for the new prediction game can now be made 8)⚽
there are also some changes to the prices (due to the current and future BTC price):

• sportsbet.io continues to participate with a certain amount (but this time in € instead of directly at the start of the pool in BTC)
• the participation fee decreases from 0.001BTC to 0.0005BTC
• the free bets can/will also vary for different matchdays
• if there is still interest in the jerseys, they can also be added to the prize pool (please note that if you win, you must provide me with a shipping address)

Well, of course you can count me in. No more Alonso, but I hope Bayer continues to provide a stern test to Bayern. I am forever hopeful of some Freiburg miracle, but we also have some interesting conversations with the new boys in Bundesliga, not least of all Hamburger!

P.S. Does anyone know where I can buy a good affordable past jerseys? Online searches are pretty bad esp for size S. Bayer's 120-yr jersey almost made me cough up..!

I am in of course. Not gonna miss on any football pool this upcoming season.

Would prefer if buy in stayed 1mBTC but I get it why it was lowered. Last season all the pools costed me around 800$ and this season that amount would go well over 1000$ which is a lot of many for most. ROI is great though and I don't think I ever finished the pool season on bitcointalk in the red. One good result is usually enough, even without the free bets part.

Nice to see Hamburger finally returned to Bundesliga. It looked that they kinda stuck in Bundesliga 2, if I'm not mistaken from all clubs that played in Bundesliga 2, Hamburger been there for longest time.
Last season for me was worst from all since I started playing Bundesliga pool. So, I hope to do better this year.

Already few seasons I'm planning to make spreadsheet to check how I'm doing in all pools, but I'm just too lazy :/ But I think that even if I'm in red, it's not deep minus.

the performance of Bitcoin is the reason why i reduced the buy-in by half (to 0.0005BTC)
on the other hand, i also want to give users the opportunity to participate in the bl pool, for whom 0.001BTC is a lot of money

and when the new season comes to an end next year, I don't want to know how much USD or EUR the 0.0005BTC will be worth then ;)

Of course I'm in. I'll send fee as the other pools announce themselves, I'd like to do it in one payment.
I would be happy with the old fee amount, but I understand that in that case some participants might not participate due to the high bitcoin price.
Overall it doesn't really matter since we are fighting for respect  8)

I just realised from Trofo's post how much this season's entry fees will cost for all the pools and he's right, it's just not financially viable for some people, given it's several months salary where I come from! But I think if you do well in just one pool, or at the very least take part in all the side comps, the freebets themselves should at least cover back the outlay.

That's a long-winded way for me to also say: would be happy if it were a bit higher, but happy to always have a good opportunity to win something. Been fortunate enough to win here and there but I'd love to get in on Bundesliga too. I'll try to play with a lot of care this season... haha

The very best in any profession stay ahead of the curve by competing with the best. To be sure, I'm still getting airsick every time I'm above the majority in a pool or league. I got lucky in the last AFCON and so far am holding steady in this tournament (maybe my genius resurfaces every time it's a short format).

I like crashing into walls anyway, so it's perfectly fine to continue my donation in Bundesliga -- but if I were you I would study the psychology of the hustler, who insists on losing often at first, to pull in more unsuspecting moths to the light. Enjoy the limelight as a footnote in the grand history of Bitcointalk pools, brother!

The embarrassing truth is that I do worse than most others on a regular basis and I thought I really know what I am doing, but at the end of the day this is good proof that luck is still a huge factor.

Towards the end of all pool seasons, you can see that often the leading guys have the same picks. They are pretty strategic about it as it makes sense then not to take risk. I guess taking too much risk and deviate from standard expectations doesn't make much sense anyway, but I sometimes can't help but go against expectations.

that's why i set the deadline so that all registrations are completed by then, because some people register but wait to send in their buy-in.

Hahaha well in that you have a strong point, is much worse when you are a local and you are gonna suffer it in the local board.

I was a big blacksheep the last season i was at mid tab but i was the only one who didnt won a single round in the whole season, as far as i remember everyone won a round at least even the worst one at the bottom of the tabble.

So there I was, mucking around in Sportsbet "soccer" section and almost got a shock when I saw the Bundesliga market. A second or two passed before it registered on my brain that this was... Austria =) Two weeks to go before our German games begin, pleasantly surprised to find out I'd paid this long ago. Joined the league, waiting for the rest of you laggards.

Don't underestimate me at my best. It's probably a mental disease at some point to keep going with them despite the lack of incentive.

I will try to defend my position, although it seems to me that it will be more difficult than before, since the volatility of the results is growing (or so it seems to me).
In light of Liverpool's fiasco yesterday, Bayern's 1.29 odds don't look as attractive as they once did, although in the long run the likelihood of surprises is much lower.

Nothing wrong about going against them at times, but what you can notice is how equal the picks become the later we are into the season. Last season it was interesting to see the top of the pool have almost identical picks across all games. You could think it is one and the same person, but at some point it makes totally sense to go with the absolute standard pick, of course if it is more or less possibly considered standard. But maybe you and I like to challenge risky things too much :D But trust me, not to go with the flow has its merits ;)

finally - our champion from last season has now officially registered 8)
our mission now is to take his title back from him and do everything we can to ensure that we see another participant at the top this season ;)

EDIT: I have one question about one of the bonus questions. What does it mean "Who is going to win the first leg"? What is a "first leg"? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I really can't figure it out.

first leg in this case means the first 17 matchdays (i.e. the complete first half of the season)
the club that occupies first place in the table after matchday #17 is sought here. in the bundesliga, this is called the 'herbstmeister'

Yes, they send notifications to email. I haven't tried their app, maybe it also sends push notifications to email.

What are these odds on Kicktipp? They are a lot different than bookie's odds.
I assume they are aggregated pool choices? If so, we're really going for favorites to win in this round ;D

Bayern 6:0 Leipzig. Probably most of us expected that it will be high scoring game, but nobody didn't saw coming that season opener will have such humiliating outcome. After 5th goal I already started looking what was their biggest defeat ever. They lost to Man City in Champions League 7:0 few years back, but in Bundesliga they never had such big loss. In Bundesliga they had few 5:1 losses. Well, playing open football against Bayern is suicide. With parked bus they probably would had conceded less.

What was the score in Bayern's first game at the Club World Cup? Something like 10-1? I hope it's the same here - a bright first game and then a decline, I don't want a return to the days when Bayern clinched the title in April. All the pursuers are demoralized now, I'm sure.

@darxiaomi @buwaytress, I am very satisfied with my performance in this pool thus far. I told you that I will deliver a brutal fight to finish behind everyone else and this was a first big step towards that goal. I couldn't be any more proud of myself. Unbelievable... :D

But to be honest here, if anyone was at 15+ points now, something must have been wrong with that person :D Leverkusen loses at home against Hoffenheim (which I took as one of the teams being relegated...). Union beats Stuttgart. Freiburg gets destroyed by Augsburg. Dortmund loses a 3-1 lead in the last five minutes of regulation time. 9 points for Kanapda are not even bad given these results.

I should have listened to my heart of hearts about Ten Hag. Kicktipp scores a bit differently than Superbru - I submitted the Superbru standard. I need to approach this one a bit differently - I think this one is actually much fairer.

the scoring system at kicktipp is indeed slightly different from that at superbru, and it's like this:

Yes I mean this was a round where you could really get ahead, but you would have had to take risk that ruins your scores in the long run. Though to go against all those apparent favourites, but I really think that a few guys in our pool here will adjust expectations from Bayer Leverkusen. I don't think this was an accidental glitch, I think they are seriously weakened compared to the last two years. it is not only the players that left, but someone like Boniface who was in great shape 18 months ago is now a candidate who is prone to frequent injuries and their number 3 striker only. The whole team was torn apart in the last two months.

You never really know about Freiburg, could be anything. What I also doubt is that Kovac's success with Dortmund from last season made any real sense that would carry over into this season. I don't think so. Kovac and the team got lucky. Now let's see for how long he will be the Dortmund coach.

Erik Ten Hang have been relieved of his duties as the head coach of Bayer Leverkusen which means now have one of the bonus results, just after the 2nd week in the season, I'm not sure if anyone in the pool did pick Bayer Leverkusen to be the first team to sack its coach.

I don't think he's a great manager, he was good in Ajax though so that has to be said. Nobody should be tossed aside after 2 games - especially considering that in one of those (Werder) a team of seasoned professionals should not even need a coach to win.
He made 4 substitutions prior to Werder's red card so it was the players that are to blame. He didn't really put Schick on goal, did he?

He's annoying and full of himself - so I'm glad he's out of the club I like. But this is not what I want to see in football.

They're idiots or what? How you can sack coach after just 2 games? You can love or hate Ten Haag, but it's just nonsense decison. You sell almost all key players in summer and now what you can expect that coach is magician and will make Bayer into tittle contender with such squad.

Getting sacked after 2 games is crazy, there is no doubt about that. But from what I have heard in the media, there was far more going on in the background then the public is aware of and I believe that. Could probably be disagreements about the transfer policy, but the truth is that most of it was known beforehand. The question only was whether some stars go to Bayern or to Liverpool. Apart from that he left some of the new and the old players in the dark. They said he barely communicated any collective goal and told the players what role will be theirs. Still 2 games is crazy, but if you see that a coach gets into arguments with players in the first weeks and then bad results come on top, it is difficult to say what you should do.

One thing is for sure, this move is so wild that the bosses who decided to sign him and now decided to sack him should suffer from consequences too. That's the thing that annoys me the most. I wonder how much money they have to pay him. They should offer Rolfes (the guy responsible) to either leave the club or pay part of the severance pay for ten Hag from his own pocket. Creating this bullshit and then go on as if nothing happened is crazy.

I've always defended the manager's need for time and patience but something tells me this was a bit different. Seems to have rubbed everyone the wrong way, from management to the dressing room -- might be they were told something else and they saw something completely different. A handful of games might have been enough to suggest things weren't going to change toward what they had been told to expect.

Feel bad for the guy but EtH walks away with compensation and a slight sting on his cheek knowing others have walked into jobs after far worse. The club, on the other hand, will, no doubt, pay the most consequence for this.

They are 100% not idiots (okay, maybe 99.9%), it’s just that from the outside the decision seems incomprehensible to us because we don’t have all the information. I am sure that there were serious internal factors and ETH was the cause of them, maybe it was a problem in the locker room (ETH's ego is well known), maybe it was some scandals with the management (he was not allowed to buy half of the Ajax team for astronomical amounts of money  ;D ). In some ways, ETH turned out to be so unacceptable that management took such a step, questionable from all sides.

Probably some things happened behind the curtains, but still, I would blame Bayer board for what happened. Things like Ten Hag ego was known before, it's first red flag. And I'm sure that they had discussions before signing contract about what they can do on transfer window. So, for me it's strange that they decided to sign contract and things went so wrong just after 2 rounds that only remaining option was to sack Ten Hag.

If you have doubts about his character (which you obviously should), then you don't hire him in the first place.
I would maybe understand if it was a club that came from 3rd tier to Bundesliga in 2 years, so the structure isn't properly in place. But we're talking about a Bundesliga runner up from last year, a team in the CL, this is pure incompetence from the board.

They must have done their due dilligence. What did they expect? The guy is as problematic as a schoolbus filled with Mourinhos.

If they have a bad season, which is now quite likely, this mess will be behind it. A new guy coming in now without a pre-season - good luck, fellas.
