I think from the beginning the Nigerian board have always been at the second position in terms of being active. One of the things I know truly well is that the local board was slow in terms of merit distribution but when it comes to being active we have been active even the fact that we don't have  more merit source as of that time we were still active. But I believe now that we have more merit source, a lot of posting will keep on coming on the local board.
One reason why the board was at the second position those years was because many people normally go outside the local board to get merits so that we all can increase our rank and truth be told that we all have been doing fine.

Indeed an unbelievable stats in the month of June. Seeing how the Nigerian local board have taken over in the number of posts per local board is very encouraging. This shows how interactive the local board is to its members and quality posts for more engagements keeps coming in day in day out. This is very remarkable. If this consistency continues, I am certain we will also take over some other categories that the other local boards are well ahead of us with.

This is really a matter of pride for Nigerians. Although Nigeria’s position was not bad at all, I have often seen Nigeria in second place in terms of activity. But this is the first time I am very happy to see Nigeria in first place. It is very important for us to maintain this achievement.

For now, I do not think that our improvement is due to having more merit sources. Because I have not seen their presence in a significant way yet. I must not forget to give credit to some members, who always do their best to contribute to the Naija board. I especially cannot forget to give credit to our mod, who has taken several steps since last month to increase more activity on the Naija board and the number of quality posts on our (LB) board has also increased.

Extremists?! Anyway, the Nigerian local board since I have been a member of this forum has been known to be one of the LB's with quality posts so we having to improve more and more on that quality is only a nature of the locals in maintaining quality as we all preach generally in the forum.

My only area of attraction to this is that we were able to outshine the Russian LB this time. And it's really a good step forward which I believe will encourage the LB members to sustain that position next month and the next . I don't think this has anything majorly to do with merit sources in the local board although they're playing a role in it anyway.

The increase in post count in our local board is definitely attributed to the addition of new merit sources. Tjerefore i want to, once again thank Theymos for giving our board three additional merit sources. Even the post quality in our local board have increased as well and I believe it will keep getting better every other month. I hope the meet allocation of our new sources will also increased so that merit/post ratio will improve to to encourage even more participation in the discussion in our local board.

This is a commendable feat by the Nigerians. And from my observation, our activities will keep increasing because there are more engaging topics on the board. The Naija board is also attracting members from other countries because of educational and interesting discussions. I might be wrong, but it is also proof that Bitcoin awareness is increasing in Nigeria since many new members are joining the forum.

You are not wrong at all. My family and some of my friends know bitcoin/crypto through me. There were some that knew it before but did not believe it, but my presence in it made them believe in it.

This is a very natural phenomenon. When people feel motivated, they go to any possible extent to give their best. The merit sources, together with our able moderator accepting good posts and distributing merits in his [Request] Report Unmerited Good Posts Here. OPEN (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5506090.msg64423302#msg64423302) has made most users up their game and engage in the LB with more quality posts. It's a feather in our cap and one we need to uphold. I must mention I'm very happy seeing this chart.

Let us continue giving our best and with collective effort our dear LB is the best in the forum.

I don't think is because of our merit source in Nigeria local board that made it possible for us to be ranked this high, the reason why we are now ranked this high is because of interesting thread that was created by some members in the Nigeria board and because of how interesting this thread are it forced members to get engaged in them, and they where only merited by just 1% of our merit source so is really not about the number of merit source that was increased it is because of those interesting thread and how interactive we are to each other in those thread.
However some few merit source are really doing there job and they understand the reason why theymos made them a merit source in the Nigeria local board.
I'm so happy we have been ranked this high in our local board those set of people that always say there are no quality posts in our local board will not say that anymore, I hope we keep up this record, I'm calling on everyone to keep it up and also calling on those who are not doing the right thing to do so in other to increase our rank more in this forum.

Good statistics which is applaudable, the Nigerian local board have really increased in activity in recent years which shows that mass adoption and more participation and registration from Nigerians is the brain behind the recent statistics and i think this is the first time that the Naija local board is topping the chart because since my few years in the forum i have always known the Russian local board to always be at the top but now we have overtaken them and i hope we continue to top the chart through constructive posts and more activity in the local board. I think this statistic is a driven force to entice some of our local board members who doesn't frequent the local board to make posts. Congratulations to Naija local board for emerging at the top of the chart.

Of course, no crypto enthusiasts that is doing well in the crypto industry that wouldn't love to teach either his family or friends about cryptocurrency and considering how long you have spent in the forum and the reputation you have built here, i am not surprised that you carried some of your friends and family along. I also know a friend who have been in the crypto industry for about a decade now and he has really brought the awareness of bitcoin to many people in his community, and they now see him as their Godfather in the crypto space.

The current position of our board is certainly at a great level, and the biggest achievement of these is the merit source, the more the number of merit sources continues to increase and the more actively they take care of everyone, our board will continue to be more excellent and bigger, no one can deny that our board is constantly becoming more active and bigger, but personally I think that if our merit sources are a little more careful, then absolutely all the processes will happen faster. However, we are very happy with our current situation, and I hope that in the future we will continue to grow and we will move forward in a bigger way in all aspects, good luck to everyone, we have to take our board forward, so everyone need to be more and more active.

This is certainly a commendable and thrilling statistic because it clearly shows that our local board is actively moving forward. Considering the progress that the Nigeria Board has made to date it can be said that we may be able to be at the top but it requires more perseverance and effort. It is a victory for us to surpass the Russian local board because they have been at the top in terms of activity for a long time but now this Nigerian local board has reached that level.

However perhaps everyone has contributed here, and the merit sources also have a lot of credit. Indeed it can be said that many people in this country are now becoming aware of Bitcoin, which is why new members are joining the forum here as a result our local board will attain a higher position in the future.

I think so, if anyone was paying attention, it wouldn't come as a surprise because the activity few days after new merit sources were awarded, our activity increased, both topics that are on topic and not both counted as activity, and with proper moderation from staff, there are now more acceptable topics than before.

With more merit source that have been added to the Nigerian local board you expect things like this but am not particularly surprised that our local board is ranking first in numbers of post because every day and night you have good posts from the Nigerian board people trying to do their best in making sure that they pass the right information.



One thing that I see that is good about our board is that people are open to criticism and will wants to improve so this will make people to always do research before posting there by making the board always active

We all believe sae, in every smoke, fire don be dey. I no go totally talk sae na because we don get more merit source na em make we come get more post for our LB. We Nigerians have being posting for so long, and our stat for every other month no d d bad for someone not to commend on us as of then that we d try.

So wetin go happen as of now be sae, we don d see the need to introduced our brothers and sisters wey we get at home to join us here, so that they will be impacted with the Bitcoin knowledge, along the line make them bring themselves come our local board, to share ideas and knowledge with us. That come make the influx of post come plenty for our LB because there are plenty quality posts wey d to comment on. On that matter, I think sae, na the exact thing that is amounting to the tremendous increase number posts we d see for our LB. Not entirely on more merits source added.

Who no like better thing?? We are all happy seen that we topped the chart for the month of June. It's a thing of joy. Only this can go a long way in encouraging others to come on board and give in Thier best to move the LB forward. I know our way Na, we go like remain for top, 9ja no dey carry last, normally we go keep the fit. Retaining that position in upcoming months depends on our more efforts too. I no say some other country fit come open eye now say we don over take. Lol. I believe quality post leads to more serious engagements by people which increases our activity count. So the more quality we get, the more our chances of remaining at the top.

Kudos to our moderator, nice job! Your rank up thread and all other activities I must say is a big encouragement to all of us here in this local board. And to other merit sources added, Weldon as we keep on. Am sure everyone is happy for this achievement, and we sincerely hope for more in subsequent months.

While others who might be aware of it and actually believe in it their knowledge was too vague or were not even in the right track. They may suffer from lack of knowledge.

Although, another reason can also be from the fact that our Lb has been gaining good reputation on the main board thanks to more reputation of active members here, this has brought more here even those who might not be Nigerians by the way.

Charles-Tim the truth is that, despite the fact that privacy is the key factor in bitcoin and majority of it holders never make public statements about their bitcoin holdings, we still have some close family and friends who are still have the influence of bitcoin on them through our involvement in bitcoin.

I remember how my brother use to kick against anything online and never have trust on them, but lately he is beginning to pick interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrency because he sees it impact on me and other close bitcoin community members.

The increase in Ponzi scheme has made people doubt that there are genuine cryptocurrencies. Our people say when snake don bite person, the person go run if him see earthworm. Some of my close family members no dey believe say this sector get opportunities because of wetin MMM, CBEX and others don do them. But it's obvious that more people are picking interest.

I've always seen us trailing behind Russia for a long time now and its really good to see us top that chart.
I believe the new merit sources has been a morale boost due to their activities, but i wouldn't just limit it to that.

If you observe very well, you will understand that in recent times there has been more interesting thread on the local board thereby leading to more interesting interactions and replies, and advise. When people see these reasonable thread, there is a natural urge to contribute the best to know. Even moderation has been top notch because i've seen many locked threads.

I believe we can own the spot now because normally naija spirit na spirit of ruggedness and we no dy ever carry last.
 

Wow is good to see Nigeria board take first place of the June stat, but I do not agree with what the OP said is the reason why our local board too first spot in the June stat, Normally all the things that have been said so far are just speculation, nobody really know what made our local board to emerge first place In the June stat. But what I can speculate now which am not really sure that resulting to this first place in the June stat is that Nigerian's are active posters, if we can remember vividly all through out the month of June will where having good and quality threads, and those threads really attracted a lot of good and quality comments as well, but merits where not really distributed across those threads, But that's by the way I still encourage Nigerian's to keep up the good work and keep making our local board proud and also make the people who took the borld steps to make sure that our local came into existence proud.

The new merits sources are the reason. We were in the second position for a long time but came to first immediately after we were given 3 more merit sources.

The number of posts on the Naija Board is increasing day by day and at the same time they are becoming quality and acceptable. New members are joining here day by day. And they are also trying to give something good.

The combined efforts of all the new and old have made the board more dynamic and lively. And it is a matter of pride and victory to see ourselves in such a good position after leaving behind so many boards.

There will be no lack of effort from every member of the Naija Board to maintain this victory.

It has to be the new merit source being added and nothing more, more merit on the local board equals to more posts being created because now people know they can get rewarded more when they contribute to the local board. Although the merit still isn't enough because I understand the new sources weren't given that much merit and the old sources still haven't received enough sources merits like our neighbours. But still it's an improve development and with time our cry for additional merit source or increase allocations will be heard. All we just have to do now is to continue being at the top then our appeals will be given listening ears.

the fact that the increased numbers of post we have on the local board has not led to a decrease in the quality of post is what makes it even wonderful. we are not just seeing threads that are merit centered, there actually threads that are meaningful and that adds value to members of the local board and that tells that we are in on this ride for the long run. hopefully, if we continue to remain top in our actively on the forum and still try to maintain quality posting when we go out to engage in general boards, it will also help to make our reputation better such that we are known for positive things on the forum.

I'm really impressed on seeing this thread, it's good that we've claimed the first spot, it showed how hardworking and consistent our people have been in creating quality post, I urge everyone to keep it up and if we can maintain the standards we could remain in first position throughout the year and more, I haven't been very active last month due to certain circumstances but on seeing this it would motivate me to do better this month.
 Anyways the added Merit sources played a better role to achieving this cause everyone is now cautious of the posts they make, to attract rewards from the merit sources which is getting merits, I also want to thank the new merit sources for rewarding good posters and I think they should keep it up so it would encourage more people to do better, Happy New Month to you all anyways.

We are really making progress as them usually says "9ja no dey carry last" so we go take over all the boards because we know say we no dey carry last for any where at all.
When I came across this post at the meta I was actually shocked to comment because Nigerian are really working hard anywhere they are being found. Even out of this forum we are found in almost all the countries, there is no place (country) you would traveled to you won't found any Nigerian doing wonders over there.

Anyway, congratulation to us at least for the first time taking over the Russian board by post.

All that you said here are very correct, their are so many people like that who feels like anything that they can't see or feel physically are not genuine, even my elder sister till today feels that anything online is scam due to the fact that she has gotten a share of her own terrible experience in ponzi scheme, MMM to be precise.
Nothing you will try to preach to her that she will believe you, even when I told her about the forum she still doesn't believe me, in her statement " all of them na yahoo🤣🤣🤣" so I 100% believes all you said here.
So  when it comes to such people, The Best you can do is to let them be, with time they will accept the obvious fact, if you tries to pressure them too much, they will feels like you want to scam them, so just let them be, with time they will join the moving train when they are convinced.

I no say the Nigerian community dey grow at a quicker pace but if person been tell me say we go pass the mighty Russian community in terms of number of post made in a month within a space of 2 years and some months wey we get awa Local board, I no go believe am. You are right, the activity in the local board increased after we were given more merit sources because the reason why most of us do not come to the local board to make post is because it used to be very boring when you make a lot of quality posts and none could earn merits and another thing was that there were few quality threads to make reply but as we all can see, the local board have been busy with several topics that are worth engaging on. The growth of the local board in recent times is encouraging, commendable and applaudable.

Nigerian are quality posters for real and you can see that in the growth of Nigerians on the forum. Even before we had our local board, our people have been representing us well. What we just need is more allocations and the board will be full of more quality discussions because people will be certain that their contributions are going to be rewarded. Campaigns accepting local board posts also encourage posting on the local board so more campaigns have to start considering the board instead of ignoring it completely.
