Title: How a crypto meet up exposed me to a decent opportunity Post by: Olamidetechie on August 05, 2025, 11:10:20 AM Yesterday, we had a meetup at a crypto event, and it was great. People discussed various sectors like DeFi, Web3, and day trading. There were giveaways, and I won 0.5 BNB and some XRP from a quiz competition. It was really fun, and I hope we have something like that again. In the course of the event, there were people talking about their rewards from trading dropping, and about 6 to 7 people got 50 BGB besides me, and it was then I realized that they actually participated in the trading club event, so either they win or lose in their trades, they're still entitled to get a share out of it. Honestly, the rewards created a FOMO for me, so I think I'll try to participate in the phase 2. 50 BGB = $218 if I'm not mistaken. It will do something for my portfolio. Have you had an experience like this before?

Have you had an experience like this before? No, and I never intend doing so for security reasons, I know that due to your winnings, you will be anxious on when the next meet up will be held so that you wouldn't miss the opportunity but bro, it's not safe out there, especially if you disclose how huge your holdings are, and secondly, if you are hell bent on attending the next one, make sure you keep key information about yourself and your holdings to yourself, because people can't attack what they don't know about. And lastly, your key device that possesses your holdings, leave it at home, you might decide to come with a device that doesn't have much information in it for security reasons, so that even though it get lost, you will be relax that you have nothing to lose, but am not a big fan of meet up physically because someone's security is not guaranteed especially in my country. As for offline events, I've experienced one, specifically a few years ago. It was a great event, as we gained a lot of insight & networking opportunities. After the event was over, we (the participants) didn't receive any crypto assets, it was just merchandise that we took home. Even though it was just merchandise, for me, the meeting was more than just merchandise. Then, when it comes to online events like trading competitions, I never participate. I think they're a waste of time, because I know I can't win with my money. There are more people with better chance & those people are tough to beat, LOL. Title: Re: How a crypto meet up exposed me to a decent opportunity Post by: aioc on August 06, 2025, 02:06:38 PM I never attended such an event, although in our country, there were invites for a meet-up for local crypto enthusiasts. However, many of these events are all about introducing a new token or coin or exchange, not really about teaching the technology behind cryptocurrency and adoption.
There are plenty of opportunities for meetups, but it's essential to know who is behind the event. If they are promoting their token for you to invest, this is not the kind of event that I will attend. But again considered the safety still. For those seeking additional connections and knowledge offline, this is great. After all, connections are crucial, especially when it comes to our source of income, the crypto industry. We should leverage this knowledge effectively to expand our knowledge and make new friends.Usually, at meetings like this, some of us remain anonymous between social media accounts and real-life friends, even though we share similar expertise. There's also some information that isn't shared publicly. If your new friend is a developer on a major project, it'll be easier to obtain A1 information and gain early access to leading projects. It must be fun to be join meet ups when there are giveaways and some discussions about how you all can get to take advantage of the market. There have been meet ups in the city nearby, I even know two local crypto users who I have made transactions in the past but only friends on social media. There is also a pizza day they celebrate every time I was invited but never get the chance to attend. It might be fun since I saw there are plenty of girls out there just drinking and eating. Just wanted to add some people in the circle would be nice. Title: Re: How a crypto meet up exposed me to a decent opportunity Post by: Marykeller on August 19, 2025, 10:43:45 AM Meetup with giveaways of crypto coins that are won, That's interesting. I haven't seen meetups with giveaways given to their attendees. What I have learn so far about meetups is for people to share their ideas and learn new things about the crypto space, that's all. Nothing like giveaways of crypto coins. But for the meetups you went to give away crypto coins to their attendees, that means they want to attract many people to the meetup next time they will do such a thing ''meetup"
Title: Re: How a crypto meet up exposed me to a decent opportunity Post by: Dave1 on August 19, 2025, 11:03:51 AM I don't think that we need to go to a meet-up in order to know this kind of rewards or competition as usually trading exchanges promoted it in their platform. Not many might not known it though, as they have been reaching us thru emails. So if by chance to didn't read the emails then you might missed it out.
Although it might be good to have a meet up from time to time, obviously we have the same passion. But I will still be very cautious though, you don't know who you gonna meet and just to be safe, there are a lot of physical attacks lately so that is just my concern on going on a face to face meetup. But if you can participate then yes, go by it and hope that you wil win that big price. Title: Re: How a crypto meet up exposed me to a decent opportunity Post by: passwordnow on August 19, 2025, 12:01:32 PM Crypto meetups and events have giveaways after. It's not only about pizzas that you guys are going to share but also about the coupons and even codes that they might distribute there. So, if someone is very active in these meet ups, they're probably employees of it and part of the organizers. Other than those reasons, they could be people that are wealthy enough that don't have a lot of things to do and just wanna expand their network and meet new people.
