This is a beautiful Zambian amethyst gemstone and is natural- not hydrothermal synthetic like many of the amethysts that you see on eBay. The weight is 1.57 carats. It is cushion-shaped and well-cut for a lot of brilliance. The color is an intense purple. Someone asked me about the "line" inclusions in the first photo- those are actually my wife's fingerprints showing through the stone!!!! It is a very transparent and clean stone.
