Title: Bitcoin Art - How Do You Even Do It?
Post by: salmaChan on August 19, 2025, 11:21:36 AM
I’ve recently noticed more artists dedicating their work entirely to Bitcoin and crypto. That got me wondering: how do you even approach making art about Bitcoin, and why?

I invited one of these artists for a chat (turned into a lot longer than expected  ;D). We talked about his process, motivations, and the intersection of art and Bitcoin.
Curious to hear your thoughts: have you seen or collected Bitcoin-inspired art before? What do you think makes art “Bitcoin art”?

When you love the potential of bitcoin and appreciates her nature, you will be inspired to create a poem, compose a song for bitcoin and atr work wouldn't be exceptional. I have seen a lot of competition in this forum that bitcoin logo must be used to design what you created or baked. Some people pour out their minds/thoughts in art.

Do you know that this forum has a collectible section? If you don't, you can  check it out here. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0)

Personally, I have not collected any Bitcoin-inspired art, but I have seen the great work of a lot of artists which I will love to patronise soon. They are not just some common artists, but they do what they do for the love of Bitcoin, and all their artworks are sold using Bitcoin as a payment option.

I know it exists, but I didn't try to collect or find something to my liking as of now.

Oh hey you, you're an artist yourself with your red packets too, you know? ;)

Actually have supported/bought/gifted a LOT of Bitcoin art over the years. Many on this forum, very happy to have given exposure to some people over the years but many off-line too. Even was on the other side of the equation too (selling my kid's digital art).

Just don't talk to me about NFTs... allergic reaction haha.

My opinion is the following. Artists whose work is of little or no interest to anyone are trying to attract attention to themselves and their art with the help of hype for bitcoin.

That got me wondering: how do you even approach making art about Bitcoin, and why?
The most honest of these artists would answer like this: I draw all sorts of crap and just add the BTC-logo. Isn't that right? :)

What's the difference between BTC-art and regular art? Hmm, let me guess. The fact that the BTC-logo is added to the painting! It's just genius. :) Or is it?

Nice way of advertising your article or art ! You're a genius for this!

However, it's nothing special to me for this bitcoin arts, as long as there isn't no good story attached to it then it's just a regular art with bitcoin logo on it or something that has to do with bitcoin, I wish this artist told true story or Satoshi kind of stories with art then I would consider it awesome and interesting to have but basically they want attention just like I figured out that's what you also need by bring the art up here.

Maybe you have not seen a reality bitcoin artworks of it beautifies.
I have seen a lot of art designers on  customized T-shirts, mobile plate numbers, necklaces and the rest of it to its best.

You can also look out here for SmartGold01 POP interior house design here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5537116.msg65237252#msg65237252. very beautiful with the art look to contract discussions to what the symbol implies and so also it is creating awareness for bitcoin adoption.

When i talked to Bartosz it wasn't just about adding the BTC he really wanted to do something meaningful and his excitement and passion was really contagious, so much so it made go back to embroidery which i left few months ago
I love artists like that who are really passionate
BTW this is what i do

It's a very conceptual question, to be honest, but artists are like that, so everybody would answer differently ;)

Nice work!

It's really awesome what Bitcoin brought into us

They are basically saying bitcoin has been a game changer it is brought new opportunities more financial freedom and different way of looking at money just a simple expression of how much impact bitcoin has had.
However what they mean is that bitcoin has not just been another tech trend it is genuinely changed lives. for some it is way to protect their savings from inflation for other it is the freedom to send and receive money without restrictions and for many it is the chance to be part of something bigger than selves when it really awesome what bitcoin brought to us they are appreciating how bitcoin has opened doors sparked innovation and built a global community that would not exist.

The idea behind Bitcoin in itself is such a fascinating Idea enough to inspire collections and seeing one does not surprise me because it is enough to draw inspiration from it. I wish to own a piece from a Bitcoin collection some day and will definitely want to make.one myself if I'm able to build a skill in that direction either digitally or by hand paintings.

I have seen a few collections somewhere, I even had one I saw sometimes ago that was minted for NFT's and it was a really beautiful collectable. The independence, value system and sustainability of Bitcoin is very outstanding and can all be put together as an inspiration to create a collection, even the story with the creation of Bitcoin and other remarkable stories such as that which inspired Bitcoin pizza day are all enough inspiration so there's actually  a whole lot about Bitcoin to give a benefiting inspiration for a collections of collectable.

What do you think makes art “Bitcoin art”?

I think the artist has to understand how Bitcoin works, at least at a superficial level, to create an interesting piece of Bitcoin art.

One great example of this is Soul of Satoshi from Max Mellenbruch:

Honestly bitcoin itself is such a fascinating idea that I does not surprise me at all that people create collections around it there so much inspiration to draw from the independence the value system the sustainability even stories like bitcoin creation or the famous pizza day all of that can easily be turned into meaningful collectibles.

However I have actually come across few bitcoin collection before and one that was minted as NFTs really stood out it was beautiful personally I did love to own a piece from a bitcoin collection someday and if ever get the skills whether digital or hand painted I did definitely like to create one myself.

I've seen lots of them and I've collected a few... The question in the latter part is a tough one, but IMO, a bitcoin art is something that's original, unique and it can convey its message without the use of labels and symbols.
