What is that one thing that Bitcoin have done for you apart from making money?

I choose Bitcoin to stay safe, My bank account is always on empty mode until I need some money, that's when I will swap some BTC for Fiat, leaving my bank account to almost zero again after using the money. There are few attacks and kidnaps that happened and got revealed that bank workers are giving out information to bad people.

I choose privacy not because I am hiding any criminal habits, I choose privacy to stay away from evil eyes.

I live a life of secrecy, because of my country big insecurities, I have fear towards people that are struggling more than those that are living in riches because lack of money is the root of evil.

I don't know bout others but when i got my first car many eye are so much on me, I was in my compound one day and I saw shadows of two men outside my gate, I knew the car must have attracted them, i had to return it and get something smaller, whenever I get a shiny object, things or gadget I feel so unsafe.

Few people even showed how envious they are, judging with the words of their mouth and sudden change of attitude, which makes me conclude that poor people are far more worse than the rich.

Having large amount of money in your bank account isn't even safe anymore, Bitcoin have solved this part better for me than anything else, atleast no one will know how much I have or worth.

Financial Freedom, i can now take charge of my financial life and be in control of what belongs to me, i can invest in bitcoin without going through any central authority, make profit in it and enjoy my privacy, which the traditional financial system cannot give at all, it also expose me to the advance digital technology, which the world is moving into already.

Many, one of them is privacy.

Bitcoin make me to avoid getting scammed, it's fungible, so I won't get the fake version. This problem usually happen in gold, I might got scammed due to buying fake gold.

Safer to buy, if I want to buy real estates, I have to check the building/land, then verify the authenticity of the certificates, unfortunately there are many mafias in my country, the mafias are working with the government.

I came to Bitcoin and blockchain because of curiosity and frankly speaking, that time I had a lot of free time at work and I started to get bored. I was tired of watching youtube, funny pictures and trying to kill time until I can finally go home. Bitcoin, forum, technology and lots of ICO projects took all my free time, I became addicted to knew information, and crypto made my mind to work instead of degrade by surfing social media and playing 3-in-row games.

Bitcoin is like what post graduate program is in financial studies, this is because when I first came into this space I never know how factual and scientific financial analysis and practices are and how to be aggressive in financial dealing most especially in assets accumulation where Bitcoin comes in.

This Forum have helped me mostly in the area of financial illiteracy and assets management, so for that I can say that we can't really separate Bitcoin from financial help, which make this question a bit out of contest since everything still ball down to finances.

We know that the privacy and value that Bitcoin provides are the main reasons, which are very beneficial for many people, especially those who believe in Bitcoin, and are truly involved or connected with Bitcoin directly. Related to your question, I think there are other benefits that I get from Bitcoin. First, Bitcoin became one of the path openers for me to be more literate in finance and technology, especially related to decentralization. Second, being one of the witnesses of the financial revolution of Bitcoin, because I don't think everyone can witness the history of Bitcoin, including being a part of its history. I can imagine how I will tell people about Bitcoin, at least to the next few generations, and maybe that will be to my grandchildren or maybe my grandchildren's children.

So those two things are what I can give for now, maybe there are still so many other benefits that I haven't thought of, if they already exist, then I will add them immediately, because I think Bitcoin discussions like this are also quite interesting to talk about.

I can say that since I became an enthusiast after much doubt and skepticism, Bitcoin became a haven for savings, and my bank as well. I became free of unnecessary charges from banks and also, it also serves as my store of value because my local currency is not stable, so what is the point holding your money with the bank, which adds no profit but inflation and unnecessary charges whenever they feel like because they know you have no option but to keep saving your money with them. So far, I have seen the good side of Bitcoin, which is so enormous, and not everything is comfortable to say here.

Bitcoin has not done anything for me yet, all am still doing is to keep buying a little amount of it any time I have money to invest. I also  save small amounts from every payment I get on my signature. People that has made good money from Bitcoin are those that have been here before me and has been investing their money into Bitcoin a long time ago, as for me am even yet to make any significant profit from Bitcoin and the reason I also adopted Bitcoin is because of the profits am expecting to make from it and also because of the freedom it gives without any relationship with middle men.

How do you buy your Bitcoin, through centralized exchange that will require P2P and you will be sending fiat from your bank to purchase the Bitcoin. Banks calculate your total deposits and withdrawal for each month, if you're trying to escape the part of banks knowing how much you worth using accumulated balance for each month they can easily detect your worth.

Obviously money, i can't think of using Bitcoin for some other things but the only aspect has always been for profits. My fiat is always working for something, either business or investment, no need of keeping fiat in my bank for no purpose.

I got involved in Bitcoin as a young clueless girl seeking to gain more knowledge about bitcoin so I can invest and make some profits. However, while in the course of getting to know more about Bitcoin, I have gained lots of knowledge that has changed my perception about alot of things; the government, the financial system, privacy and even some security consciousness which I now have.

Currently I am DCAing bitcoin and cannot say I have made that profit that brought me here in the first place, but right now I am currently working on it and loving the whole process.

I am still doing lots of research about Bitcoin and broadening my knowledge of Bitcoin and technology. I feel within me that my future is secured with Bitcoin. Maybe later in the future I will boast of acquiring my first house with my investment profits   ;D

Personally for me the greatest thing that Bitcoin has provided besides money is freedom. I do not always need to rely on the banks and do not have to worry about their rules and limitations. I can cross borders and deliver value instantly without asking anybody and without permission. I feel as though I am more in control of my money. It is the feeling of independence that I hold more than that profit.

In my case it's mainly confidence and the feeling of security.

I used to have some money saved up, but deep inside I knew that it wasn't enough, so I kept investing, saving up. I had enough saved up to live for a year with no income, but wanted more. When bitcoin exploded I didn't have to spend much because I never needed to show off wealth, but what kept me going was that feeling that now I have savings that could last me for 10 years. Then it became 20, then more than that. Now I know that I don't have to work at all. I work when I want to and I live my life pretty much the way I did 10 years ago, but I'm completely relaxed. There's no pressure that this month a car broke down and we have to pay the mechanic, so no eating out and no buying toys for kids. I stopped focusing on material things, worrying about the next utility bill and that's very important in life.

Last but not least, since I went through my second bull market cycle, I sleep like a baby. The first was hard, but second and third was a piece of cake.

Bitcoin is money itself so one of the things that bitcoin has done for me is to teach me about security because since the coin is in my custody, its security relies on me because i dare not lose the passphrase and seed phrase that will grant me access to my coin so it has made me to take security of my asset very serious. Another one is transaction without limit because traditional banks has limits of withdrawals but with bitcoin i can make any amount of transaction i want to make without facing any restrictions.

This is one of my best attribute of bitcoin the anonymity gives you freedom and to have just any amount of bitcoin you want and not raising an eye brow. If it is a physical property it will be actually alarming for everyone to see but except you expose yourself you are actually anonymous with any amount you want.

Another advantage that I have enjoyed with bitcoin is actually the cross boarder transactions, seriously they have been lots of problems when doing cross boarder transactions where you need to actually convert your fiat to different currencies but with bitcoin you don’t need to convert your currency to another currency before using it

Financial freedom, no need to keep money with a third party, and privacy.

I'm sick of keeping money in the bank because of the government's ridiculous policy of freezing accounts without the owners' knowledge so they can't withdraw their funds.

This is a rather odd regulation even though the bank accounts have been reopened but it doesn't rule out the possibility of the government implementing similar policies again.

It's not that I don't need banks; honestly, I still use them for daily transactions however I no longer keep large amounts of money in them, and some of it has been invested in Bitcoin—one of the best ways, especially since it can be profitable in the future.

Bitcoin has made me have a deep reflection on privacy beyond what the perspective and importance I before now placed on it. With our finances being private the design is that we are secured from unnecessary censorship and  attacks that could have been attracted to us. Privacy is peace but the failed fiat system denies us this very unique peace and freedom.

Might be a bit of an odd answer but it gave me a community. One that is focused on technology and other innovations and that really gave me a chance to improve on my own knowledge about the internet and any technological advances that I may not have been made aware of in the past. This community not only focuses on crypto but on other general life topics as well so that’s been helpful personally.

Bitcoin has truly changed my life. This is true, not metaphorical or exaggerated.
Bitcoin has brought many good things into my life. First, financial freedom, second, privacy, and most importantly, ease of payment, bypassing all the old payment methods that were banned in my country.

My experience with Bitcoin has been more than wonderful. Previously, I was looking for an online job and my main problem was payment. Most websites pay via PayPal, Visa, or MasterCard, all of which are banned in my country. Therefore, it was very difficult, if not impossible. With the emergence of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies working online and making payments has become extremely easy, and my intractable problem has been solved.

You have received at least one transaction with Bitcoin, that alone has fulfilled your need but from investment perspective, you have not really made something from it. Do you know that if you have been working or your signature payments is paid from bank from another country like USA, it will take days before your money is going to reach your country, I'm taking about lightening payment like Zele and the rest micro finance payment, I'm talking about real Banks but Bitcoin does it within 10 minutes of block confirmation.

You are doing DCA gradually and putting everything in your wallet, this is what Bitcoin does that other assets investment can't do. You can't buy a Gold from any exchange and decide to send it to your wallet unless you have to carry it around with you, you can't buy fraction of Gold and gold. It's going to look like you are wasting your money for nothing, this is what Bitcoin does that other assets can't do and you do it with comfort of small fees than the banks.

Becoming a investor. I mean yeah, most of us have gain financial freedom, but what is the path to accomplished them? And before most of us didn't know what investing it. We all know that we put money on them and wait for it to grow. But with Bitcoin, it's different, it give us that knowledge and we can maybe apply it to other things in life. Maybe we became to have mental toughness and discipline and that things take some some to be accomplished with.

Not be a popular opinion, but we all know that Bitcoin's first case is all about gambling. I have been a gambler though before entering the world of Bitcoin investment but mostly playing on physical casinos. But when I learned that I can gamble on Bitcoin related crypto platform, then I don't go that much outside and sometimes just play at the comfort of my home.

It's taught me a lot.  For one,  It’s taught me patience, made me question what money really is, and connected me with people I’d never have met otherwise.

It's changed how I see value, built real discipline in me,  expanded my world, created good and profitable community for me,  sparked innovation.  Bitcoin has done a whole lot for real. 

With bitcoin, I have an investment that is very affordable, easily accessible, long lasting and profitable. It would cost alot investing in real estate, gold or land. Anyone can invest in bitcoin as long as they have the capital to buy any amount of bitcoin they want and have a perfect plan that can help them become profitable in the future.

Again, bitcoin has been a saviour when I had issues transferring fiat to a vendor sometime ago. Fortunately the vendor was a crypto enthusiast, the transaction went smoothly and everyone was cool with it.

The fact that I can do my transactions without fear of being monitored or interrogated by a central authority is another aspect of bitcoin I am grateful for. I am really free from KYC issues with anyone.

There are people who has invested in Bitcoin and used Bitcoin to establish one or two things of their choice so I believe that is not everyone who invest in Bitcoin but I have not achieved where in Bitcoin starting from when Bitcoin were  introduce in 2010, so I know basically that bitcoin investment has made people to achieve many things such as

1. Business that yield a daily income
2. Achieved their own private building structure
3. Making a good established without government employment opportunities

There's no denying that financial freedom, or at least an improvement in my current economic situation, is something I've experienced through Bitcoin. After all, in the current circumstances, Bitcoin has been a lifesaver for me, as I've at least reaped some benefits from the investments I've made while involved with Bitcoin.

This is enough for me to navigate the current economic conditions. Although it may not be as significant as what others or the wealthy have, at least with this situation, I can make myself more comfortable while others are facing difficulties.

That money you keep apart is exactly what Bitcoin has done for me. I have used that money to achieve a lot of things, add a skill to my career, and now thinking of a business. Privacy too is part of it, just like others have mentioned in this thread. I can make payments with it online without thinking of the limit on my ATM card because Bitcoin has no limit on where you can use it or when you can use it, and many more other things which I have been exposed to because of it.

I know the answers will be different to everyone so my own answer is that Bitcoin improved my interest in cryptocurrency generally, I now have a better understanding about cryptocurrency than I did before and than I ever would have. I also observed that the interest that I got from Bitcoin concerning the cryptocurrency world has extended to other areas, as I now take opportunities in any digital space I come across more seriously than before. I was more of a person who believed in physical investment earlier, now I have believe in also digital investments.

Bitcoin has done a lot for me since our path crossed, it has made me a lot wiser on the internet, I got to learn more about technology and I research more now, it has made me to be coordinated and patient in every aspect of life and I'm more careful now. Instead of being an open book to everyone and probably to scammers, Bitcoin has taught me to be more private than before and Bitcoin has made me feel secure for the future. With Bitcoin, I'm in control of my money. It's a digital age and Bitcoin has been an eye opener.

Bitcoin is a currency to brighten the future of every person, if people invest here and keep it for a long time, they will get a lot of returns in the future. Moreover, Bitcoin transactions are very easy and it happens very quickly without any hassle and its benefits are many. It's true as you said, maintaining privacy and providing any information, whether it's assets or investments, openly or not. especially in front of strangers or the surrounding environment, this will make someone jealous and can also cause crime or threats to you. I came into bitcoin for freedom, like being able to access and put my money to use whenever I feel like without obstruction by anybody or any agency. Additionally I was free from the manipulations of the banking sector who holds my money and gives you less than 10% interst per annum on a stated which depreciates by more than that margin already within the specified period.

In my country, we experienced up to 350% or more currency devaluation in 3 years alone, Imagine someone who had his money in fixed deposit accounts and has gotten less than 40% profits even with compound interest, he is down by a whooping 310%.

If he had his money in bitcoin from that same time from middle of 2022, he should be up by more than 500% by now, so surely bitcoin is a proven hedge against inflation and currency depreciation

That's nice, it's good you've taken precautions so as not to fall victim to scammers on that platform, joining different random crypto groups over there is risky and could make  you victimised, anyways Bitcoin has taught me lots of stuff, from being security conscious when it to finance, to privacy,  but one important than I've learnt since I knew about Bitcoin is patience learning to hodl Bitcoin for a long-term is a sign of discipline and it takes one to be patient to achieve such goal. Hodling for long-term can also guarantee a better life after retirement and that's what Bitcoin offers to people who believe in it.

Exactly, the money that the OP kept aside is the most important thing that Bitcoin has done for me too. Honestly, Bitcoin is a life changer because I have achieved a lot of things through Bitcoin, the knowledge alone is something that normally makes me feel happy all the time, because I was able to do things that I was not familiar with before smoothly online without any challenge. We get privacy from Bitcoin. But unfortunately, with monitoring from the government, that slowly disappear because when we send the money to our bank, and that is big, the bank will report it to the government. We can save our money in Bitcoin so we need to be careful when sending the money to other sources, such as banks.

I can feel safe having Bitcoin because I can prevent other people from watching my wealth. I can withdraw my Bitcoin in a small fraction without attracting attention from the bank or the government or even my neighbors.

I don't have a specific place to keep my Bitcoin like a safety box but I don't use a tiny thing to keep my Bitcoin in my wallet. Bitcoin is not like gold, where we need to have a specific place to hide it.

It's important to have a choice to not show wealth to other people, even in the end government would successful to monitor how much people hold Bitcoin, but most people won't know us. This can't applies to real estate, once we bought the house/land, people will know us because information from mouth to mouth is quick to spread.

You got a good advise here mate, some people always like to learn in a hard way which is bad, there are many traps in the so called social media groups looking for whom to get trapped, so it now becomes our duty as individuals be careful and set our boundaries, all those shits called signal group and whatever groups littered in telegram Bitcoin enthusiasts should stay off those are the house of scam.
As for learning, Bitcoin is an innovation, Bitcoin has made me to learn many things like the p2p transaction and other things too, Bitcoin has also save me the stress of putting all my money in the banks idly for the benefit of banks not mine, atleast I now understand the power and benefit of investing in Bitcoin and I will advise people to start from somewhere too since we all do it with the little we can.

Bitcoin can only help you avoid buying fake version, it cannot help you avoid being scammed. Because scamming is human to human behavior, and as long as you can't control your greed. You can still get scammed even if you use bitcoin to make that transaction.

Although gold can be counterfeited, but some who buy fake gold because of greed and the desire to buy it cheaply. Because if they only go to jewelry stores, state-licensed gold processing stores, buying fake gold there is impossible.

Likewise, buying and selling bitcoins is only safe when you deal with reputable and liquid merchants or exchanges. Your bitcoin transaction is still not secure if you cannot verify the trustworthiness of the other party.

No offense, but I think if people get scammed with old school trick, that's their own stupidity. In Bitcoin, as long as we can differentiate between mainnet and testnet Bitcoin address, then knowing how many Bitcoin confirmation is enough (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5443953.0), we won't get scammed. Even the seller offer cheap Bitcoin, as long as we know how to verify it, we're safe.

Unlike gold, some people said gold with stamp is legit, but some people might create that stamp? to verify the gold authenticity, we need to use chemical, but does the company allow us to test? I doubt it.

There's no need to verify the trustworthiness of the party, if you do this, how you gonna trade via P2P? you can't even know the person you trade in the first place.

Just because you don’t keep money in banks again doesn’t mean that banks cannot trace your money as you use them timely. What I’m implying is that, the buying and selling of your assets that are in BTC are done through p2p which requires that you use your account for receiving money when selling and to also send out money when buying. Banks still knows the total amount of earning you get, just that they know you don’t keep money in your account for too long which means you won’t even be a target if you use such banks that give out information to kidnappers.


Having the control over my own funds, spending when I like is an important part of Bitcoin that I really appreciate a lot and I’m happy always that I’m part of this financial revolution where privacy and decentralization are the core principles of it. Bitcoin as a way of making money is well appreciated enough than the privacy it provides, but on any term you appreciate it on, bitcoin is still an asset to have for the benefits are one of its kind you can’t get around any investment you want to do now and still have control over your money.

You don't need to use chemicals to test gold, and as I said, you just need to buy gold from government licensed jewelry stores and gold processing companies. You will never buy fake gold and I am quite sure of that. Because my mother has been buying gold that way for over 50 years and she has never bought fake gold. Her gold trading has never had any problems.

If you cannot verify the credibility of the person you are dealing with, that is the risk you will face when trading bitcoin.
But if you trade bitcoins through centralized exchanges, it is no longer a pure p2p transaction and that does not mean there is no need for verification. Centralized exchanges have done that for you.

Bitcoin has opened the eyes of people to understand what scams are all about more. Before now, whatever investment we encountered, we accepted, and at the end of the day, you can't really tell what has gone wrong.

Before now, I had a shallow knowledge of asset diversification. But my experience in this forum showed that Bitcoin is a viable asset to invest in.

I agree with you here, receiving money payment from another country takes days because it would have to go through processes best known to the bank and others before it gets to you or your account but with bitcoin under few minutes, you will receive your payment without any need to worry or wait for days. My friend who does remote jobs told me same thing too that before it took him days to receive his payment but after a critical thought about the whole delay and not just only delay, the deduction from the bank after it is credited into his account and also his privacy as well because it seems as if whenever he goes to the bank, he is going for his dollar account which means he has been paid and the bankers now know him for that which not safe anymore for him as his privacy is no more guaranteed. All these made him to discuss with his employer to change his mode of payment to bitcoin which they agreed.

Bitcoin has not only opened my eyes to seeing the most reliable and infact best way to gain financial freedom, but also shown me that i don't have depend on anyone to keep my money safe. Yeah, with Bitcoin, i can have 100% custody of my funds without depending on any third party to do that for me. It has also shown me that I don't really need all of these shitcoins that are flooded allover the crypto space, with promises of huge profits. Now, my eyes has now been opened to the fact Bitcoin is the only digital asset worth investing in. (although some people might still wanna argue this).

A different way of life? I used to be a worker, who went to a job and worked there and came back. Now I am at home all day, which did cause me to gain a lot of weight :D but still, it's a comfort that I can't give up, and I love this. This is why I honestly believe that we are going to end up with a ton of difference for people in the future.

Because many people will grow up with online world, and even maybe make money on the online world, from age 10 to 20, and when the time for a career comes, they will know, there is a possibility that they can make money online.

And not like every place requires thousands of dollars like London or California, there are so many nations which you can survive with 500 bucks, so kids will grow up, and not work at those jobs their parents did, and just use crypto instead.

Having Bitcoin means I can hide my wealth from others although somehow the government will be trying to track us by requiring us to show all of our wealth and sources of income to them. But other people will not know even the banks about our wealth in Bitcoin so we will stay away from the bad things.

Having a huge amount of money in the bank can make us become a target for hacking or scamming. They can search for various ways to penetrate our bank account and transfer the funds to their accounts. We will not know how they can do that but our money can disappear anytime.

Bitcoin provides us with privacy to hide it from those bad people. We don't have to show our Bitcoin to anyone we don't trust so we will feel safe and enjoy our lives.

Apart from making money, Bitcoin helped me to get good marks in high school. I was the only student who knew about Bitcoin, no other student besides me knew what Bitcoin was and lecturers also didn't have much idea about it. What I was talking about was very interesting for lecturers, especially since I was studying business studies and economics, so they liked that I was a unique student and it definitely helped me to get A marks. Bitcoin also opened new opportunities in my life because I was an early adopter. I knew about Bitcoin more than the rest of the people, so local crypto startups got in touch with me. I'm very thankful to Bitcoin for everything it did in my life, it really changed my life, or I would be extremely poor.

Bitcoin is a decentralized asset, peer-to-peer currency and that means it helps us increase privacy, reduce dependence on third parties like banks, centralized platforms. But honestly, I think most of us choose bitcoin for its big and quick profits, for no other reason. Because even if you say you use bitcoin to protect your assets from the government, protect your privacy. But I believe that if bitcoin suddenly becomes stable and no longer gives great returns, you will soon leave it and find something else instead.

Contributions to the world is one of the fulfilment that comes with solving a real life situation and problem, this is why we always appreciate satoshi for what he have done over the last one decades when Bitcoin came into being, alot of time we have seen some similar developments, but often than none it still doesn't build up to amount like Bitcoin did at present growth a d achievement, so year Bitcoin inspire better possibilities.

Understanding how money works. Yeah, the most basic part about having a limited supply and then made me understand that fiat can be printed unlimited. So, with that basic economics there, I've come to realize why fiat and other cost of living has become more expensive year after year. Whilst for Bitcoin, it made me saw how deflation is happening and it's possible through it. And other economical subjects, it forced me to study about them and even I am not good at those things, at least thanks to it for making me realize how they work.

Bitcoin definitely has a way of changing your perspective.  Before Bitcoin, I considered the financial system as an unchanging, fixed reality controlled by government that I simply had to trust.  I never questioned the fundamentals - such as where money comes from or why my savings slowly seem to evaporate over time.  Bitcoin changed all of that. At first it wasnt about the technology to me, it was about the people.  It was about the community of people willing to ask uncomfortable questions, and that challenged the notion that money has to be controlled by a central authority.  

For me, it is financial inclusion.  I used to be unbanked since I don't have trust in banks, and with this, I am not able to participate in global transactions.  But when I learned about Bitcoin, all the limits I had were bypassed, and I am now able to participate in global transactions.  I am able to buy stuff online with Bitcoin anytime I want. 

Later, I opened a bank account since it was needed for local transactions and payments, but I am more comfortable paying in Bitcoin, so I prefer it every time I have to buy items, so I look for a shop that accepts BTC and buy from them.

I learned that there are better digital opportunities in making money than focus on fiat alone. And with bitcoin, it made me realize that it’s always worth to be patient and disciplined if you aim for a long term investment goal, but you also need to know your investment well so that you won’t be spending some capital and waste your time and money in the end.

At the end of the day, I realized that bitcoin is they key towards a brighter future and retirement, along with diversification your investment to attract multiple gains.

I can relate to that. Bitcoin taught me how to be patient. There are several markets that I have no idea on how to get into, but after my investment in Bitcoin. It had made learn them as well. But just because I have an idea about them already, I won't just get into it and I've decided to stick to Bitcoin in a while.
