Title: The beginning of new journey in this forum
Post by: TokenTikas on August 22, 2025, 02:47:31 AM
I recently came here. The first post I saw after coming here was Bitcoin Discussion. There, I saw that everyone was discussing bitcoin freely. After scrolling for a while, I saw a short meta description below each discussion, which helped me understand the discussion. I am a new member and did not understand everything about this forum well. My question here, is this forum open for everyone? I can see that everyone can discuss about their crypto and bitcoin. Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others? If anyone could give me some feedback on how I can participate as a new member and I would greatly benefit. Thank you.

First of all... Welcome!!!
You've found the best place to learn and stay informed about Bitcoin and other criptos.

And yes... its open to anyone to post freely without censorship, as long as you follow the rules and maintain constructive discussions (avoiding spam and off-topic, for example).

The first thing: Read the rules and initial guides... throughout the section you'll find topics pined by the admins and moderators. Reading them are practically mandatory, as they contain important guidelines of how post, what's allowed and how to avoid penalties.

About creating topics... you can do this anywhere, but first try search and see if theres already something you wanted to comment at some existing threads... this way you maintain the conversation's dynamics and avoid repetitive topics.

Above all... avoid plagiarism, never copy something from other sites without making it clear that its a "reference". To do this, use the [quote ] tag.

Over time, you'll learn where everything fits... you'll see that its much more than a place to talk about Bitcoin... there are sections to discuss economics, security, technology, development, games, gambling, and much more.

Good luck!

(Newbies—Read before posting). This is a pinned post. When I go to this post, I see many links being shared. I looked at them for a while, but the question is, should I read the posts in a sequential order? Or should I pay attention to the other side? I did not understand this.

There's no restrictions of users to participate on those bitcoin and crypto related topics being discussed there of your notice. This is a communication mechanism to discuss, teach and learn from others.
But the fact you're eligible to post doesn't mean you should feel at home like it's one of the media networks where users are just in there to catch fun or spend their leisure for entertainments talks. This is an educative platform.
All users posts here in the platform is expected to hold contents of values that'll be focused on exploits. So. I'll advice you should do more readings and study how others participates with their own views so that you can develop your mind towards what you have to offer and adapt learn new ideals. Engage of more crypto news even outside the forum, this will help you come with better ideals about bitcoin and crypto if you're a total novice.

You already found out that everyone can discuss freely and still somehow, you don’t see yourself to be part of that “everyone”.

Well, it’s still okay for you to ask but my take is, wherever the comment box is open for you, you are indeed allowed to leave your opinion on the topic of discussion. If you make off comment posts, it would be deleted and if your comments are not welcomed in that thread, you might see it moderated as well. When these things happen, that get scared or act surprised. Just get the message and move on.

If you are willing to learn and open to controversies, then the forum is a place for you to be and learn.

Yes, it's open to everyone. But just like a community in real life, we have rules and social norm here. Someone already post the link of that so it's better for you to read and understand. And we are open for discussion everything under the sun, not just for Bitcoin and altcoins, but what is going around the world.

So it could be politics and society or serious discussion. But obviously the bulk of the discussion here is all about Bitcoin. For starters, I would suggest that you just go around the forum and play around. I remember when I was a beginner, I would bookmark boards that I frequented so that I won't forget it when I come back to login.

Best of luck in your journey here and hopefully you will become a good member in our community.

If the forum is not opened for everyone, let's think why did you join here freely and easily?

As you could join the forum easily, this means the forum opens for everyone including you.

This is an open forum where you are free to engage with others, discuss not only Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, there are many other things that you can discuss here. There is the gambling board that you can interact with other people in various sporting and no sporting activities, there is the games and round board where you can test your ability to predict Bitcoin price and earn fantastic rewards. We have the politics and society board where you discuss politics and you can even identify with people from your country if you can locate your local board and there you will find communication in your local dialect. The forum is indeed a place that is lively and full of activities to keep you busy and wanting more. Feel free to ask questions and you will be well guided.

You have seen that your post has been approved, right?. that tells that the forum is an open space to air out your view and interact with forum members as much as neccesary without any form of restriction. as long as your intention behind joining the forum is pure, then you are very much wellcome and no one will stop you from actively engaging in forum discussion. the only thing here is that just like any other platforms, there are roles and regulation that guides the activities of members of the forum so you should make it a neccesity to go through those rules and ensure that you read them through theme so you can comfortably post and rect to post on the forum without getting yourself in trouble.

If you are yet to know so much about bitcoin, there is no need trying to lie about it, just be as open as possible and learn from already created threads and when there is a reason to create your own thread for a reasonable thing, do not hesitate to do so. the forum frowns at scam and anything that looks like it so you want to ensure that you distance yourself from any sort of things that will directly or indirectly implicate you. stay clean and you will enjoy your stay on the forum. good luck!

There's freedom of speech on this forum regardless of your rank or experience, but there are rules and regulations already provided above that you need to follow to avoid a penalty. You need to understand and abide by the rules and regulations because this forum doesn't joke with any of the rules and regulations.

Second, make sure your post gives a good impression, a positive impact on the reader, and don't post AI content, or content that may be flagged for plagiarism now or in the future.

If you can do all this you're good to go.

My question here, is this forum open for everyone?
The forum is opened for everyone who will abide by the rules. Is every board on the forum opened to everyone? No. There are some boards that unless you are a mod/staff you can have access to it. Well, in reality, those boards are just for administrative stuff so, nothing to worry much about.

Quote
Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others?
Yes, again you can. But I strongly advised beginners to read more first, than to be in a hurry to make a post. Because it is always likely that whatever question they may have to ask has already been answered. The only exception is when there is a more recent information or unique angle to it.

Yes, this forum is open to anyone interested in joining as long as they will be willing to stay, learn, follow the rules and also discuss about bitcoin, which was the exact purpose for its creation.

I can see that everyone can discuss about their crypto and bitcoin. Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others?

You can do so, however, this comes by learning first, you need to know about what you're interested in posting, take time to acquire the knowledge about bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large, understand how the forum operates, get used to the various boards and what is being discussed there, then you can post as you may wish in the pattern that goes with the forum quality standard.

The forum is open for everyone. And as long as you have certain topics in your mind that you think will be relevant to the forum, then go on posting. Just make sure that you have valuable information to share, otherwise members will lost its interest from your topic and won’t participate in your discussion.

What’s best about the forum is that everything is fair regardless of its rank or position. Everyone will surely be heard and seen as long as you are making positive contributions that will enhance growth and development of the forum.

No one here is going to prevent you from engaging in constructive discussions unless you spam here. If you create spam on the forum somehow, then someone would report your post, and a moderator would delete it as well. That means you are free to post relevant content on the forum by following rules; it's open for everyone. If you intend to learn from the forum, then spend more time reading various threads and engaging in discussion.

However, there are a lot of boards, and you should start a thread or engage in a discussion on a relevant board. As you said about the Bitcoin discussion board, you may engage there in the discussion related to Bitcoin. For some other topics like economy or altcoins, then there is a different board. So you need to choose the board before creating a thread, but you can engage anywhere based on the topic.

This forum is open to anyone who wants to learn about Bitcoin, you are also free to discuss on any board as long as you are able to understand the material being discussed. You can also answer other users questions if you have knowledge about what is being asked. Try exploring further to increase your insight and knowledge, there are many boards available and you will find important topics that have been pinned in them.

As a beginner who has just joined the forum, you should try to use the search column available in the top right corner more often, then enter keywords to make it easier to determine what you want to search for. Always use your free time to read some important topics and feel free to ask questions if you have any questions.

Those discussions you saw aren't just discussions, but the boards are specified for each discussion, such as Bitcoin Discussions, Technical Aspects, Economy Board, Beginners and Help Board and others. Welcome to the forum. The forum is open to everyone. Because the forum is indeed a place to discuss and share information, you can also participate. However, it's important to note that not all information shared is true. You must filter the information you read and seek.
We are free to express our opinions, but never feel angry when your opinion is challenged by other users. You can also ask about the information you obtain from outside to confirm its validity. Many experienced members in the forum can share their opinions and experiences.

Welcome to this great platform. I am happy to see newbies coming on board every day. OP, you have spoken well and from my observations, you took out time to carefully read through the platform before making a post of inquiry and that is a good one from you. This platform is rich in bitcoin and crypto knowledge, and if you are able to read and ask questions, you will learn more from this platform, as there are lots of old-time bitcoin enthusiasts here who have devoted their time and experience to this platform in teaching members on how to go about their bitcoin and crypto activities.

However, I know you will still need help to navigate through this platform, but first of all, as a newbie, there are a few things you will also have to know about this platform. I do not have an idea if you have seen them, but I will still put up theM up here for you to read them.

As a member of this platform, there are some activities which are prohibited here which you should have knowledge about, the use of AI to write is against the standards of this platform, you must write organic statements from your understanding as that would be much welcomed than using AI to post. Avoid plagiarism as it is against the forums principles, if you must make such post, then the source should also be included otherwise if found wanting, you will be tagged and possibly nuked by the mods. Feelfree to contibutes to discussions if you have idea about the conversations and do well to ask questions as it bothers you.

Sure, you can discuss Bitcoin or any other altcoin. like other people did, but there are rules you shouldn't break, I know that many guys would have given you the tips but the major problem is to abstain from anything plagiarism or copy and paste or using AI to make post. Because if you do that then am Afraid you may get banned because the rules here are strict. Why I want to inform you now is because most newbies have made same mistake unknowingly to them but it will be nice you become awear early enough and avoid it before its too late.

There is no restrictions to newbies, you can join crypto discussion topics if you knowledge of what is being discussed in each of the topics but do not make low value post or off topics replies and do not also spam the thread because if you do that your posts might be reported and gets deleted so just feel free to engage in any discussion that you know you have something meaningful to contribute and if you make mistakes and get corrected by a high rank user, do not be discouraged just take it with ease and take corrections as that is the way to grow in the forum.

Now, are you allowed to post? Of course, every member should participate and post what’s on their mind that can be a good discussion within this forum. As long as you think every member will benefit on the thread or topic you want to impart, then start sharing it and prepare for a healthy and informative discussion.

If I had not thought about anything that way, seeing everyone's comments has created a different love for the forum since coming here. It is a beautiful platform to exchange knowledge and discuss with new people.

Above all, I feel blessed to be here because there is a platform like this, where you can exchange views with everyone and master many things well by spending time here. If you do not understand something, it can be explained beautifully, and if there is a mistake, it can be corrected beautifully. I now try to spend the necessary time here and am learning a lot from here. :)

You are new here, does not make you new to Bitcoin. If you see a discussion that you know you can easily contributing rightly, dont withhold. The forum is meant for sharing useful information's and also having important discussions. Again, everyone here dont own a crypto or Bitcoin, I see you make a mistake there. Bitcoin was built by Satoshi, no one is the central owner. But be careful with other crypto projects, they can be rugpull, scam coins and fake projects. I will advice the best place you should spend more time here is this board. You will see topics that can help prevent scams and help you stay safe in this environment. I'm also a newbie like you in the forum, so we learn everyday.

No, that statement does not apply to this forum, which is open to anyone. The analogy remains the same: it is open to anyone, but the forum has rules and regulations for users. Anyone who enters here is allowed to do so, but they must follow the rules. There is no intimidation based on race, ethnicity, culture, nationality, or other backgrounds.

Regarding Mixer, it is only prohibited from being promoted on the forum. If we discuss it for the purpose of gaining knowledge, it is still permitted, provided it aligns with the prohibition statement, but it must not be associated with a specific project. If I recall correctly, and again, Mixer is not an individual.

As long as people can adhere to the existing forum rules, feel free to join and explore the forum.

Also, I won't say this forum is open for everyone because bans are imposed on certain users. Spammers could be banned at some point. The same with plagiarists.

If you're neither of the above, welcome, explore, and enjoy your stay!
Great job
Your writings are the bitter truth which just have to be said and yes op the forum isn’t open to everyone especially for those who have any negative intentions and thoughts for joining.
Adding to what Darker45 has already said, I think there is a proxyban on some countries in here and this is to help cum the rate of illegal or criminal (scams and scammers) on the forum.

But on the other hand, the forum is open to everyone who wants to learn and explore the world of digital assets, hence if you’re typically here to learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general then you’re highly welcome.

I didn’t check through your profile and I didn’t notice your country but I would advise that you try to identify with your local board(country), so it will be more easier to assist you and teach you more better how to best navigate the forum.

Welcome.

Thank you.
Welcome onboard mate, the forum is open to everyone, you can post on any board and you can ask any questions based on things you do not understand, we are all here to learn and to share our ideas with others.. I was a newbie too when I joined this forum. Keep making quality and constructive posts so that you will be able to receive merits and to increase your rank in the forum. Because the more you are engaging on discussions and you are also sharing valid points you get merits from it.

It is because the forum is open to everyone that you are able to make your first post in the Bitcoin discussion, and also make this post too. But my advice for you as a new member in the forum is to go back and read the rules and regulations that guide the forum. That will really help you a lot because it will prevent you from going against the rules. So calm down and learn first before jumping into conversations that you don't have knowledge about, because that is what can lead your account to be tagged as a spammer. Seriously, it is one of the reasons why most newbies' accounts are tagged with a neutral tag.

So, calm down and first learn. Don’t rush to post unless you have questions to ask. If you really calm down to learn, I don’t even think you will have many questions to ask over time because most of the things that new members need to learn are already pinned. It’s just left for you to learn.

Yes, OP needs to know that beginners are welcome in this forum to do anything such as ask something, open a topic about something, or share information. However, OP needs to be aware that this forum has several rules, especially for beginners, and OP can see them in several notices, especially in Pinned Posts. My advice, OP should do more learning first, read a lot, cultivate curiosity to be able to develop knowledge more quickly. If there is something you want to find out, but you can't find it, then you can try to open a discussion to ask about it. The point is, the more you learn, the more you will understand more about anything, especially about this forum. If you are serious, then you are guaranteed to get real results according to your expectations, so it will come true. So, cheer up, friend.  ;)

By the way, "OP" means Original Poster, and here are the reference I got, and I think you should read this too : Bitcointalk.org @The Cryptovator - Definition of some short Abbreviations used on forum. Everyone should know; (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4958338.msg44685656#msg44685656)

Well i understand your situation, you're trying to not break any rule in the forum, that's good to know but, I just want you to think of bitcoincoin like any other social  media  platform that you've used, but the basic differences is that here we discuss more about bitcoin and crypto and some other important discussions. All you have to do is make sure your posts are in line and ensure you don't break forum rules, like plagiarism or shit posting. That way you'll scale through and learn from the insightful discussions without having any issues with the forum. Lastly you're welcome to bitcointalk.

This is a misconception for every beginner that since they are in the forum, they are actually obliged to post immediately. But in reality, no one is forcing them to post, they can just read the threads in the forum all they want and don’t react or reply on it.

However, it’s still a different feeling when you join in the discussion, especially if your are well knowledgeable on the topic. You could have shared your valuable insights, and let the other members benefit from it, just like you benefit from their informative posts.

Simply put, the forum is open for everyone but there are always strict rules and regulations to follow. And if you think you can’t do them, everyone is free to move out. There is always freedom in the forum, but what is highly valued is our freedom to speak and let other people hear your personal and valid views on certain topics or threads that are related about bitcoin and the crypto market.

Welcome to the forum. But just a friendly advice, don’t jump into posting. Study first, and make the most of it reading and exploring the whole concept of the forum. Acquire knowledge first, because posting requires if not experience, at least you should have stocked knowledge and values to make the forum more interesting.

It feels different when you accept me like this and help me move forward nicely by giving me guidance and suggestions. I'm forever grateful to you.

Just like what you're feeling right now, that's how we felt also when we were new to this community. This is such a lovable place and community and that's why it's up to you on how you're going to learn when most resources are already here.

Everyone who's knowledgeable here are not selfish and if there is a need for correction, we should stand to be corrected and there is no problem with that.

As long as we understand, we are polite to others and respecting everyone's opinion. But if you deal with some below the belt people since we're not all the same here, you'll have to deal it on your own too.

You should also be able to maintain same energy and spirit when you are faced with criticisms which may not go down well with you. Yea, you should expect that. Criticisms does not mean hate, it's a way of correcting you but with a different tone. Learn from it and do not lose hope in the forum.

This forum has rules which must be followed. It will no longer be love and all friendliness when you violate the forum rules. Just be good and committed to learning.

Do not try to teach what you don't know or understand. Most newbies do that alot and such teachings can be misleading. Take things slowly  and you will grow gradually too.

Of course, this forum is open to everyone. If you can look carefully from the beginning and learn all the topics, you will definitely see that everyone here will be open to discussing.

You can also discuss Bitcoin and crypto like everyone else. If you can have a good discussion here, it will be good for everyone, but don't have a discussion where people will be harmed. There should always be such a discussion that something can be learned and known through the discussion, but as I said before, the Bitcoin forum here is open to everyone.

If you can stay attentive in the Bitcoin forum, you will become a well-known personality in the Bitcoin forum one day. But finally I want to tell you that never try to cheat in the Bitcoin forum, if you try to cheat, you will be destroyed very quickly.

Just to clarify also what he mentioned, OP this is a free forum where ideas and information are being shared with one another. Even if our participation here is free, there are still certain rules and regulations that need to be followed in order to maintain the peace and order of the system.

Make sure that before you create posts in different boards, utilize first the search bar and input your question there because it may have been answered already. Lastly, read the rules and avoid the newbie mistake of falling into scams!

OP, I am a firm believer that your experience in this forum is all about the journey. The destination is only part of the bigger reward- which is the knowledge that you will learn, discover, and experience during your entire journey in this forum.

Basically, posting is a very last step to do and before that, let's read, search and read to learn well before posting. Read more, learn more, and post less will reduce spam in the forum as well as build up an account unlike a spam account which is a good account development in long term.

This forum is a very well coordinated and organised forum. With all the coordination and orderliness, scams still exist here. Newbies may not know that they are not supposed to let their guards down in this forum. There are lots of unsolicited offers from strangers with the intention of scamming gullible newbies because they know that these newbies do not know their left from there right here.

If only newbies will try to be newbies that they are by putting in efforts to learn instead of being in a hurry to earn from these forum. Overzealous newbies might risk getting scammed.

You can read and understand that's great buddy, you just need to look what other forum users are doing and go with the flow. You may discuss about your crypto and Bitcoin but only to as extent because you wouldn't want to let out all your valuable information about your Bitcoin or crypto into the forum, as a beginner you should understand the importance of being anonymous and safeguard your Bitcoin because amongst us here are also scammers and beginners like you are usually their target so be aware. Never hesitate to ask questions if you are confused about anything in the forum, there are pinned threads in every boards containing rules and regulations for the forum, of course the forum is open for everyone even beginners but just be careful not to break any rules. Engage in discussions you can connect with and you will be fine.

My question here, is this forum open for everyone?
You should have seen different accounts on forum here, with different ranks on the forum here, so you should already know that the forum is open for all. If you want to Learn about bitcoin, and cryptocurrency, then I will say you are at the right place, most of the informations which you will be needing are here already on the forum, and if there is anything you don’t understand, if you ask question, then you will be getting answer.

I can see that everyone can discuss about their crypto and bitcoin.
Yeah you are free to discuss about your crypto journey here, but you should know that the forum is having rules and regulations, so you should just try and check it out before posting here, so that you won’t end up going against the forum rules. And make sure you don’t make use of AI to post, if you do that, then you will be reported, and your account will be tagged.

Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others?
You can post about bitcoin, and crypto just like others, but if you posting, then make sure you use the search engine first, avoid creating posts that are already on the forum here.

This is a very good response; the forum is free for everyone, but it doesn’t tolerate spam and fake information. You can’t just get any information without a reliable source and post it here in the forum, the forum have moderators that moderate its activities and the forum is always welcoming new idea from any user new or old, but mind you, you need to be dedicated before you can learn in this forum and you need to be active to get what you want in this forum.

I can see that the OP is trying, he do go through most of the response from other forum members, if the OP keep it up, he will rank up easily because active members do have access to share important information in the forum and also do get rewarded for their content.

Welcome to the forum, if you want to learn about bitcoin, then you can do that here, and why the forum is just a cool place to learn about bitcoin is that you won’t have to pay anyone any amount to learn about bitcoin and cryptocurrency on the forum here, people are ready to share their knowledge with you for free, so if anyone enters your PM, and ask you to pay some amount of money before they going to teach you something, then just kindly report them, they just want to scam you. The forum is open for everyone, and you can learn anything about bitcoin, and cryptocurrency for free here.

Can I also discuss or post about bitcoin and crypto like others? If anyone could give me some feedback on how I can participate as a new member and I would greatly benefit. Thank you.
You can post about crypto and bitcoin like others, but make sure what you posting is meaningful, and make sure you don’t make off topic posts. As a newbie spend more time reading than posting, we already have enough threads on the forum here where you can learn from, so you don’t have to start creating unnecessary threads, just calm down and start reading threads available already, you going to learn a lot.

Which is part of the reason why threads like this should exist because they will help in shaping the minds of those who are willing to learn. Even though we already have numerous threads which are like welcome notes for newbies, each newbie that still comes up with something like this and drags out the discussion won't be the only one to enjoy the suggestions and tips, but others who are also willing to learn will see the thread at the top.

Hey buddy, I'm also a beginner like you too but I've been here longer than you so I can say to you that this forum is for everyone. Try to visit boards that you can afford to join in the conversations or better still you read threads to educate yourself more and to learn about how things are done in the forum, everyone discuss and post about their Bitcoin journey so you can do that too if you wish to. The two most important rules that you should never forget are no spamming and plagiarism, look out for pinned threads in every boards you visit and you will do just fine.

As a beginner starting in this journey of bitcoin, you must know what to do and what not to do. You must read everything that you are supposed to read in this forum.
Bitcointalk is a place where we came to exchange ideas, interact, and know more about bitcoin. And as a beginner in this forum, you must get ready to observe and read everybody's post in this forum, knowing how trades are done and knowing the right time to invest and when not to invest.

Bitcointalk teaches us more about bitcoin and how to be successful in the market. But you must know that there are loses and gains in this journey, be bold and be ready to take risk because without risk, success can't be accomplished.

Set the initial motivation to activate yourself here.
There is no prohibition for anyone who has an account to discuss about Bitcoin and others as long as it does not deviate.
I want to say, don't force myself.
If you have special expertise about technical fields, such as coding or other, you can also give here.

Welcome to join the Bitcoin forum. Speech from a person who was once a brand new, newbie until now has a hero.

Welcome to the forum!
There is no sympathy or preferential treatment for new comers. So, it is good to say that the forum doesn't actually care if you are genuine newbie or not. (Newbies—Read before posting). This is a pinned post. When I go to this post, I see many links being shared. I looked at them for a while, but the question is, should I read the posts in a sequential order? Or should I pay attention to the other side? I did not understand this.

For your own good, stop making serial posts when you can simply edit your previous reply. Posting serially without allowing someone to post before making another post is good as spamming.

Now to answer your question, it's not possible to read everything posted in the forum bit by bit. You only focused on aspects you're much interested in to give and gain knowledge. As for the rules, you need to make yourself familiar with the common guidelines using the forum. The rules are not actually documented in a single thread, you have to visit appropriate links in regard to each case.

Thank you.

I welcome you to the forum bro! The platform is open for everyone as long as you respect the rules and post the right content in the right board! you are good to go... when I myself first joined the forum, I was also a bit lost and kind of confused as to where to start the journey, but as time passby!! I was able to find my own path in the platform... As a newbie back then!! Although technically i am still partially new because we learn every day, But i started contributing my little knowledge of programming by creating some handy tools for the community and that became my way to grow here... step by step, it helped me learn more, engage better & eventually i was able to achieve FullMember rank. what i realized along the way is that you don’t have to know everything from the start!! just share what you can, learn from others and slowly build your presence... even small contributions can make a big difference and people here will notice genuine efforts believe me.

so bro!! don’t worry if everything feels new now!!! just focus on reading, contributing where you can and you will naturally find your own way too i can assure you... with time & consistency you will also look back and see how far you hav grown in the forum... Best of luck!!!!

Welcome to the community most of us recommend to read the sticky thread on each board this gives you an head up whats this board all about, also dont get bothered if you can't relate yet with the disucssion because every people who gained knowledge to the communtiy also came to th forum from zero, well not others just sort of, you can freely create a thread here if you have a concern but its good to if you tried to search the topic first to avoid creation of multiple related concern. Or you can use the ninjastic.space

It's a free forum atleast if your IP address hasn't been penalize by the forum that you'll have to pay some fees before you can start posting on the forum. Just as others have said, you're free to engage in discussions on here but just make sure that every thought that you write is yours and not stolen, if you're to quote what others have written, always give reference to the source of your information. Depending on the section that you're posting in, you can make discussion on those subjects and it most not necessary be Bitcoin related. I want to welcome you to the forum and assure you that you're among people that wants what's best for you so take their suggestions you get, serious and adhere to the laws guiding the forum.

Please I have a question on something you just said, you said that if one is to quote what others have written, we should give reference to the source of our information. My question now is, will it be ok to use quotation marks, be it single or double quotation since that symbol is known to used while quoting something that someone else said?

You can and the way you write can also show you're quoting someone. Eg: Quoting Mr A " then you input his exact words". Or better still you quote using this
Quote
Mr A said this
. With time you can used the quoting format edited in a way anybody reading gets you clearly:
Bitcoin is the first decentralized cryptocurrency. Based on a free-market ideology
or you just indicate that you got your information from a particular source. Example;
Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin. Basically always indicate somehow that the information you're sharing isn't your original thought and that you aren't trying to pass it on as yours either,  to take credit (receive merits).

I'm also a new member who joined this forum and am still figuring out how it works. Essentially, this forum is very open to everyone—as long as you follow the rules of each board. To get started, I recommend, and I've done this myself:

  • Read the beginner's thread first to understand posting etiquette and the basic rules. forum tips from @lauda

  • I read that this forum has rules that we must follow. For example, follow the main rules: avoid spam/low-value posts, off-topic posts, and referral links. Plagiarism can result in a permanent ban. from @mprep

  • We also need to understand the rank and merit system: leveling up requires activity and merit. Activity can earn a maximum of 14 points every two weeks; Merit is earned from the quality of our threads. rank and merit from @hilariousandco

  • Be careful when making transactions: check the Trust profile of your counterpart and learn how the Trust/flags system works; use escrow if necessary. trust from @loyceV

  • We can also utilize Local Boards for discussions in our own language or ask basic technical questions. For example, here's the Indonesian leaderboard.
    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=191.0 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=191.0)

Here, I'll help you easily find threads related to the rules and how they work. This will make it easier for you, and perhaps new members, to find out. I personally still read all of this, use the search feature, and then leave concise comments that add context (for example, summarize the main points of the topic before giving your opinion). Once you're more comfortable, create your own thread with a clear title and source references to make it interesting. lets enjoy friend.. ;)

Please I have a question on something you just said, you said that if one is to quote what others have written, we should give reference to the source of our information.
It is normal to give the source of where you've taken the information, be it a website, from another member, or wherever it came from. It's called plagiarism, and it's against the forum rules and not just here, even in the real world plagiriasm is a big offense.

My question now is, will it be ok to use quotation marks, be it single or double quotation since that symbol is known to used while quoting something that someone else said?
As said by cryptopreneurbrainboss, you'll learn how to quote properly soon. But using double or single quotations they're also fine but you need to include always the link where you've taken your words.

It's going to be a code like this when you want to insert a quote/link.

Code:
[quote author=actual link]
[/quote]

Or simply pasting the reference to give credit to the actual source and try out to press the "quote" on these posts and you'd see how bb codes for quoting works.
