Title: Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone.
Post by: aioc on August 24, 2025, 04:16:55 PM
There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.

I don’t know if there is a similar topic, but if there is, let me know, and I’ll lock this right away.

You can barely enjoy gambling alone for a very long time, gambling is best enjoyed in group, although such a time to gamble among the boys doesn't come always, but when the opportunity comes, it's always memories made.

My circle sometimes target 10 odds and each person is assigned to produce 2 odds and contribute to the staking power. We assemble the odds and stake high on it with contributed funds.

When it wins, it's not always about sharing the wins, we can use it to organize some fun outings among ourselves and have fun together, including gambling physically of course ;)

I have some friends, not many, who gamble responsibly, just like I do. This way, if I overstep my limits, I have people who can pull me back.
It’s refreshing to have a candid talk about gambling with friends who share the same interest; it gives you a new strategy and perspective, and keeps you on the safe side of gambling.
Gambling is entertaining, and discussing sports and your bets makes it even more enjoyable.

Personally, I don't see any point in doing all of that, everyone has different ideas about gambling and I think it's best to work with the ideas that you have or just do what works for you. From the list of topics I have seen I didn't see any topic similar to this but let's see if anyone else brings up something. I would rather have someone to talk to if I end up having some losses, this is important  because it helps me avoid thinking about it too much

I have few colleagues and friends, and they gamble too. I didn't become friends with them because of gambling, we were cool friend before I dived deep into gambling. Anyway, we do share our wins and loss together, and sometimes we combine to bet on specific odds we feel is better. What I can tell you is that, the aim of having a friend should not be about gambling, even if its a means to earn some extra bucks, there are other ways to make money aside from gambling.

Nowadays with the numbers of gamblers that we have around, it is almost impossible to gamble in issolation. even if you are not a fan of a physical gambling centre, there is no way you are not going to have interaction with others that are also gambling with you. let us take the forum for instance, as long as you are engaging in the forum discussion expecially discussion that is going on in the gambling board, it means that you are also relating with other gamblers in this environment.

Now that the season has started fully, sports discussion is going to be the major things you here guys talking on when they gather. and there is no way they will talk about it without shairing one or two things about there gambling lifestyle and the strategy they are using to gamble. by that way, even if you are a lone ranger, you still get to associat with other gamblers.

Personal I would like to continue gambling as a personal matter since most of the people in my life do not see gambling only in a positive way. At the same time, I think having friends sharing a common interest makes it more enjoyable since one can share ideas and the victories with them. I think it all lies with personality, some are comfortable with the company and others find it safer to keep it between themselves.

Most of my friends are from gambling, rest of them dont know i gamble

i think its important to have some people u can share your good/bad experiences, losing at gambling and having no one to talk to can very easily lead to some big mental issues

We have a group where everyones shares their wins/losses and even giveaways on a big win

I was lucky enough to meet some great people in this, not everyone has gambling friends they can trust

I cant even imagine what i would be if i didnt have these people to share this part of my life with, they have helped me in bad times more then i have  :'( :'(

Me too, I got friends who are gamblers as I am although we have been friends for a very long time, right from our school days, we do things together far back then but I must be sincere i don't like sharing things about gambling with any one although my friends do ask.me about booking codes sometimes for them to bet for themselves, we talk about football football too sometimes but I try as much possible not to discuss much with them on the whole gambling thing for some reasons.
Dude you got it right, keeping friends should be far from the purpose of gambling, but if I may asked do people attach this level of seriousness in gambling, our reasons for keeping friends should go beyond gambling of thing, many connections are there just as you note which we can get from friends.

I have friends who really enjoy gambling. But I rarely gamble when we are gathered. More often, we just share tips and experiences in gambling, and gamble on our own. But it's different when we visit a cockfighting arena. Usually, we go together and place bets. Even football matches in the village can also become a form of gambling for us. It is fun to have companions who share the same interest in gambling.

The saying is very precise.
Example:
You can see in your daily life and environment, a YouTube they will be friends with YouTube, the police are both police, the government is both the government, Tribes are both certain ethnic groups and so on the same as gamblers together with gamblers, they rarely make friends with those who are not both gamblers, it is already natural law.

Humans live in groups they will look for their own group to discuss anything, including their gambling when speaking connected, the point: what you think is indeed it.

I prefer playing alone because, for me, having someone on my side, whether I'm winning or losing makes me uncomfortable. So, whenever I play, I always do it alone. It's not that I don't want to share my winnings. I'm afraid that if my friends  become a gambler who can't control themselves, it will lead to future problems. For example, "they may become friends who ask "did you win again?", "share it please" and so on. If that happens, I think our friendship would be damaged. IMO

I understand the saying. So even if you don't gamble as your friends may do, people off the view may think you're also a gambler because they believe that saying that birds of same feathers flocks together.
On the side of telling just anyone that I'm a gambler is what I don't find comfortable for myself because being a gambler isn't what to be proud of telling everyone around you. Yes, gambling is more fun when you engages on event discussions with friends but I'd prefer sharing my gambling discussions with the friends I know that gambles so that I don't lure others who doesn't gamble to begin gambling due to interesting stories I may have shared across.

I don't have "gambling" friends per se.  I do have friends that I gamble on memecoins with.  That is more having fun with crypto than gambling or investing and trying to make money though.  We just enjoy buying ridiculous coins and pitching them to each other, laughing whenever the loss or the gains are far larger than any legitimate investment opportunity would allow.  No idea why this is fun, but it is.

I do enjoy gambling alone, I can enjoy a game of cards or any game I can play with friends but from when the game becomes gambling i best enjoy it alone.
I easily get distracted when I am joking around with friends so for me to be serious on gambling I will prefer being on my own. And thing I don’t do is gambling against friends, I can enjoy earning money playing against my own pals.

Not entirely gambling friends, but they do listen to me when I say I placed a bet on a sports event, especially basketball. Because they are also fans of the NBA, and that's why they will hear me out until the discussion turns all about the game, stats, and records of each team, and how strong each one of them is.

There are also a few who place their bets in the same sport, but they rarely do it. Most of the time, it's just the playoffs, and some just do it during the Finals. That's when we can talk more about the odds and the spreads, and then it will turn to more deeper analysis about the teams that are playing.

I used to bet with my friends, at that time I used to share everything about gambling with my friends, but since I started betting on online platforms, I don't discuss gambling much with my other friends. Not only me but my other friends also don't want to reveal the topic of gambling. That's why I don't discuss gambling with my friends like before. Earlier, there was a lot of discussion about sports betting, but now there is no opportunity to discuss casino gambling.

Yes, I have a lot of gambling friends, and just like you, in one sport which is horse racing, you can't enjoy that sports if let's say you go to a betting shop (we call it OTB here, off track betting) or even inside the horse track itself without anyone because it's going to be boring.

And it's good if you can discuss your bet with your friends, maybe you can copy each other's bet or have totally different bet and they you can have friendly argument as who is going to win. So yeah, even in sports betting or casinos, I have a lot of friends too who I play along many times even in land base casinos or online.

I don't have gambling friends and I don't like the idea of sticking around friends that do gambles alot . Though at times I do seek people opinions as regards some gambling strategy but I don't keep them as friends.Ambition is infectious, I believe sticking around friends that do gambles all the time may lead one to become an addict. So for a gambler who is addicted to gambling avoiding friends that do gambles alot will really be of great help in breaking free from gambling addiction.

The type of people who will have a group of gambling friends are those who are into sports betting. Those ones require based on the individual that they can share tips and betting odds to boss their chances of a win. Keep in mind that it is not everyone that likes this but some people actually do because it helps them. People like us who are slot lovers are mostly loners when it comes to gambling. There's no strategy to share, you just spin and that's all. However, sometimes, I do enjoy some company of friends as they watch me press spin on the slot game. We don't share any profit though.

I have friends that gamble but they don't gamble all the time, is anyone have any bookies which we think is 80% sure, we share it and stake. We gamble responsibly, it's fun when watch soccer games together, we mostly go out some weekends to watch live games, sometimes in the club sometimes our houses. The major reasons why I like the friendship is because we talk to each other anytime we notice someone is gambling racklessly.

I don't have any friends I can talk to about sports betting. I've seen my neighbors talking about sports betting a few times. I approached them to better listen to their conversation and saw that they have a group that talks about sports betting. They even lend each other money, create strategies, and celebrate as a group when they make a profit. But I preferred to distance myself from that.

Maybe I prefer to be alone, or maybe because I prefer to see sports betting as just entertainment, while they are taking it very seriously. I don't know how much they bet, but it doesn't seem like small amounts to me. I say this because it wouldn't make much sense for them to bet small amounts and then, after winning, start celebrating wildly as if they had won something big.

It's fun to have gambling friends especially in sports bet, there's a lot to talk and banter about, if you're in a place and start to discuss sports, people who have interest in the sport will naturally bond with you. You can do casino games alone because most of them are luck based like slot but in sports bet that requires analysis it's more fun if you have friends to discuss with. Most sports fans are now gamblers so it's quite easy to discuss sports and bet at the same time. Sports lovers and gamblers have TV in their homes but they prefer to go to bars and event centers to watch so that they can interact with friends and other sports lovers and bettors.

Yes, it's not uncommon for gamblers to have several fellow gamblers and it's common. Many people with similar interests share information and exchange opinions - but I'm not very open about gambling because I prefer to do it alone rather than involve others. Gambling is a personal thing for me - so I don't open up too much to people although some of them do ask my opinion in between jobs.

It's true that people with similar interests often share - not just information or analysis, but sometimes even victories. It's up to them how they do it - but I tend to prefer to keep to myself and not involve anyone else.

I have friends who also place bets, and I consider this an advantage. First, we can discuss our bets with each other, and sometimes someone may notice something you missed in your analysis. Another benefit is that friends help keep the excitement under control and prevent actions that you might later regret. I know that there are friends who, on the contrary, push you into trouble, but that’s not the case with me.

I have friends that are gamblers. During the weekends, whenever we are together, we do the analysis of the match together and stake our bets differently. Watching the match together with some bottles is the fun part of it, because we'll be able to discuss about the ongoing match. Perhaps, I love gambling alone whenever they are not around.

It's more fun to keep all our gambling activities under wraps. The reason is quite simple, every gambler has a different mindset, and sometimes discussing gambling can lead to pointless arguments and often even hostility. This is why I don't like to discuss gambling or betting openly with friends to maintain good relationships. But when discussing sports like soccer, it's much more interesting than discussing betting.

I usually gamble alone because I believe that when you gamble by yourself, you are only responsible for your own actions. This way, you avoid the regret that comes from taking advice from friends, which could lead to defeat and blaming them, or from giving advice that causes your friends to lose.
Moreover, I am not the type of person who enjoys discussing gambling-related matters with friends, as there have been many cases where friendships were ruined over money and gambling issues. I simply want to avoid such situations happening to me.

Talking sports with friends yes that's part of  socialization, but gambling as a group, nah doesn't work for me...

Besides I have personal rules that I follow because people tend to be emotional over certain things, say a buddies team loses and get to laugh about it, or lose an argument and can't take it..so to avoid losing friends over petty issues I have decided to avoid gambling talks, politics and discussing people..it breaks friendships..so when it comes to gambling solo move is the best.

This depends on how you are going into gambling, because you can perform well if you are alone or with other people. Personally, I would prefer to gamble alone and focus solely on myself.

What I'm concerned about when you are alone is that it's only you who will make yourself accountable, but when you have company, they will try to ask how you are, and I think that's a great thing to have as long as they are good.

As a gambler, there's certainly that one friend or group of friends that  shares same ideas with you. Most time, people or most of us here on the forum, were introduced to gambling by a friend. It's just something that is normal when it comes to gambling.

It's easier to share experience with your friends as it eases the stress most times. Especially if you all gambling together, it makes it more fun and when you loss, you have someone to discuss with on what actually caused the loss. Things like this is more common in sport betting.byou find group of friends going to betting shops together to place bets..

Life keep changing frequently because its cycle of life in early days I have too many friends we talk about many things then introduced to gambling which bring good changes and flow of money was also increased which was big change for many of us, but this was also started of change because money enters.

But as time run we have different lives and jobs which not allowed us to keep in touch and things gone out of way now in last few years its almost ended because computer take replacement, and I am doing stuff online with no friend and nothing talkable few online friends always in touch, and we have good discussion which increase information and also allow having better chance of win in betting.

I do have gambling friends, but they're just virtual friends.

I don't see any chance to discuss about gambling with my real life friends, whenever someone talk about gambling, they will say to avoid gambling. I also think real life friends are mostly just for hangout or small talk, many of them not want to discuss something that need analysis or knowledge.

Currently, I don't need any friends when it comes to gambling. Discussing gambling-related issues with someone is also seen as somewhat degrading. When it comes to gambling, I give the highest priority on my self. I know that if luck doesn't favor me, I will never be able to win from gambling. So, other people's ideas about gambling do not get priority for me. I don't have any gambling friends at the moment.

If I gamble in a physical casino, I usually have a couple of friends that might also enjoy a game every once in a while.  It is a social setting, so its not surprising to meet other people who have a similar interest.

As for online gambling,, this is quite the opposite!  Online gambling is usually a solitary activity.  I mean, you are sitting in front of the computer screen, and usualy there is no community anymore.  And even when there is a community, like this one for example, not sure I can call them friends.  I think most online gamblers dont really talk about their gambling in their personal lives and try to keep it private. At least I do.

Firstly, I don't go around telling people I'm a gambler or that I do gamble but if you ask me if I do gamble, well depending on who is asking I will say yes and I can equally say no because I don't owe anyone any explanation. I play sports bet and yes I have a lot friends that also play sports bet though we don't share earnings but we do share booking code at times that is if I want or if they want. And lastly I don't really think it is necessary to be discussing about bet or gamble I mean I don't even have strength for that or let me say not all the time.

I have both friends, the ones that gamble and other that see's gambling as a reproach. For the more gambling friends question, i can't possibly count in numbers which side carries more people but my gambling friends are in good numbers, as a sports lover most of my friends have similar interest.

I hardly pick bets from any of my friends but our discussions are more argumentative on sports match results than sharing betting options.

I do have friends I discuss gambling opportunities with and its results but I never talk to them about it in detail. I think even with friends, there should be some kind of limit or boundaries to be set. Because there’s money involved and we can’t trust everyone when it comes to money.

I know some friends often gamble, and when we gather, they often share their experiences playing certain games, but I never act like a real gambler I just stay quiet and listen to their stories.

Because it’s too awkward since they know I gamble, especially when I win, friends usually want to be treated, and that’s what I avoid.

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.
In almost every circle of friends currently there is a gambler, either a person who plays sports bets or engages in casino games. It is alright, as it can even improve and make gambling more fun when you have someone as a friend whom you can tell relatable gambling stories to. It has its advantages and also its disadvantages.

One major disadvantage is that since the habit of a close friend has a good chance of rubbing off on you, if your friend is an addicted and an indisciplined gambler, the chances of you becoming addicted automatically increase. The opposite is the advantage.

There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?
I have friends and acquaintances who are into gambling (or are into it from time to time), although I am not currently involved in it. In a sense, I can be called an observer of gambling, because my friends and acquaintances tell me about the results of gambling. Although I usually didn't do the same before.

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.
True, I have noticed this too, because gambling is like a certain circle of interests, like a hobby, and people often discuss their achievements and failures in gambling among themselves. I see this quite often among my friends.

Yes I have a friend who enjoys Rugby with me and we bet on matches when the United
Rugby Championship and European Rugby Championship is on but he isnt what I would
call a serious gambler, more occasional but its great to be able to bounce ideas off
someone who is both into the same sport and is making bets.

I also loosely follow the Australian Rugby League but I'm on my own apart from
Timelord2067 over in the Rugby thread.

I only have a few friends, probably no more than three, who are truly open about gambling. And when we get together, we often discuss gambling and exchange ideas, especially sports betting. If one of us is on a lucky streak or winning, they'll treat us to coffee and snacks to make the conversation more enjoyable, and these get-togethers usually happen on the weekends.

Besides them, I'm much more private about my gambling problem. And I trust them to keep it a secret from each other.

Absolutely.... alone!
In my case is for privacy reasons, since no one in my family (except my wife) even know that I have crypto and neither do my friends and coworkers... I even participate in conversations about it, but I am indifferent when involve cripto betting... I donot think its necessary to share that I am betting :)

For me, gambling is something personal. I do not do it to create conversations or comparisons, I do it just to have a moment of pleasure and fun. I thing if a lot of people know I gamble then come the guesses, demands, and judgments... that isnt my goal, I just want to relax and gamble my way.

You know? It is not because I am embarrassed, its because I believe that some things... especially when it involves money, need to stay personal... at least for me.

I also have gambling friends but I prefer to be alone and just wanna be on my own, with either wins or losses.
So that I have no one to boast to with my profits and losses and I don't need to be with other people just talking about how much gains or losses, I've made.
I might be into the same group that has the same interest but if it's on my own finances and bankrolls, I prefer to be a lone guy.

Gambling with friends or not doesn't really change what gambling is all about; it doesn't make gambling predictable and certain. Gambling with friends may have its advantages, but it also has disadvantages. However, gambling with the wrong set of people may greatly affect one's gambling lifestyle if one's understanding of gambling is very low.

Just imagine gambling with someone who is already addicted to gambling while you are just gambling to make money, seeing gambling as a hustle; it is very possible to be influenced by the other gambler. The most important thing in gambling is to understand it, and when it is well understood, gambling with friends or not won't affect you negatively.

Gambling with friends can be very fun, especially on a local standard, but on the online settings, the outcome may not be fine, if one person is an addict who can't gain certain control over their actions. Friends are to help themselves regulate the way they play, but in a case where one party decides to follow the footstep of a compulsive fella, then, that could be detrimental to the both. The only good aspect of gaming with friends is for emotional observation. Intelligent or responsible gamblers are expected to pay attention to each other's behavioral development, that'll help them detect when one person isn't heading to the right direction.

I have friends who I gamble with, they challenge me always for a gamble and we bet almost on a daily . apart from betting in the casinos we also bet physically with ourselves. Most of the time when one of us lose a bet, the fellow will also be hoping that the rest also lose their bet, not necessarily because he’s envy or doesn’t want the success of others, but it’s jut for fun and that’s how we enjoy betting for fun always.

Well I don't think if this saying really matters in gamble, because I don't gamble with friends. Though sometimes my friends usually ask me to come over so we can team up but I always see it as a waste of time, moreover I don't want a situation where people will start seeing me as  irresponsible gambler which is why I like doing my thing alone.

do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

I have friends that also gamble, and sure sometimes after making Prediction I will just share my booking code with them if they are interested, the same thing applicable to when I experience win. But if it is to hang with them to  talk about gambling I don't always have that chance.

I have several friends who enjoy betting, and sometimes sharing strategies and analysis can be very helpful, especially if one of us misses some important information about the team we're betting on.
That said, I don't talk about my gambling habits openly. Not even my family knows about it; only a few close friends who share my interests know.

Of course, i have people that gambles as friends. They are quite responsible gamblers, but we don't talk much often about gambling or bets during a normal conversation. I don't think that they've ever influenced me to making a similar bet as theirs, and i don't think that i've ever done the same. When there is a big game, we rather just make our personal sentiment, and bet on who we feel like, but we don't usually treat it as a big deal to the point of start sharing strategies, which means that our gambling activities is kind of personal.

Of course, everyone wants to be ahead of other players and show it to their friends, proving that they are smarter or better at some games, even deep down, if they don’t want to talk about it in front of everyone. As for me, I prefer to play alone, because then I have better concentration and can be more focused, and if I play with a friend, I will have more fun, which will definitely affect my game in the end. This does not mean that I will not play with them at all, of course we will have fun, it’s just that my bets will be for small money, but I will get a great mood.

I have read about a similar topic on this board; some people just like to gamble on their own, while some like to gamble with their friends, share tips together, and rejoice together. But me personally, I fall under the category of those who gamble on their own, and until I see the need to share my winnings with my friends, if not, we just talk about how and which pattern we use, not on a regular basis unless when something drags out the topic.

I dont think that this is important, it doesn't matter whether you have companions or gamble alone, this is not going to change the outcome of gambling because winning is based on luck only...instead you should be focused on creating discussions on how to stop gambling addiction if anyone in your cycle of friends are dealing with it...the goal is to maintain discipline and to gamble moderately, If you can help each other by reminding one another to be disciplined then that's alright

That’s really impossible definitely everyone love talking to people with same interest and goal, having friends who gamble is not wrong as a matter of fact if they don’t affect your gambling lifestyle negatively. Personally I prefer getting close to people who can share more winning strategy and goal along side discussing fun games and sport, everything about gambling is done for fun likewise having gamblers as friends. Staying alone might be optional because not every time you mingle with friends and is totally understandable probably due to certain reason but, it’s not that deep staying alone or having gamblers as friends.

This will really depend on the environment the gambler finds himself in. You can be a gambler and still not be able to tell your close friends because gambling is seen as an illegal thing to do, and you’ll prefer to do it in hidden and not allow anyone knows about your habits. In realistically, having a group of partners that you all share the same interests is always very fun. This does not limit to only gambling but every other thing that a group of people can brainstorm to share ideas.

This is a nice approach and this approach will only limit you guys to not have to risk too much in order to get the happiness you deserve that time. This is a perfect example of gambling for fun because the wins do not necessarily mean anything to you guys and just staked in order to have bigger output and enjoy your outing to be a more memorable one for you all. I think I like this and will be a welcome idea to any circle of friends this is introduced to and they don’t allow greed to overtake them.

Most of my friends are gamblers but I prefer gambling on my own because I don't want anyone to know how often I gamble and how my losses and winnings always happen. The way they act sometimes, like when I have a win, everyone will want to take credit for it. I don’t like that behavior. Among my friends, some of them like to mock someone, especially if that person is experiencing long-term losses without winning. For these reasons, I enjoy gambling alone. But sometimes, if they ask me, I do tell them that I gamble, but not often. I always inform them, even though they always inform me whenever they gamble, but I’m not always that interested in hearing about their involvement in gambling.

I do gamble, and I don’t think there is any way which I will be hiding that from my friend, they know i gamble, and whenever we are together, and I want to gamble, I do always show them my bet before placing it, some times they make some comments about my bet, then it’s left for me to listen to them, or I will just stand by my prediction.

I call them my friends, so I don’t have to hide things like that from them, most of them gamble also, so why will I hide it from them that am a gambler, and even if they know that am a gambler, there is nothing they going to do about it, so I have nothing to hide. I don’t see anything bad in gambling, but if you are a gambler, or you want to start gambling, then I will recommend we all try to avoid being addicted to gambling. Gambling is normal, the only thing that’s bad is gambling addiction, which we all should try and avoid.

We share good tips on how to go about our gambling and if anyone has a good prediction they also let us know or drop details of the games so we could try since we mostly gamble on soccer bet but aside my guys I don't go out to start arguing about football or start telling anyone about my gambling life style talk more of sharing my earnings.

Alone is the best, as someone who is somewhat introverted in nature I don’t even like sharing my personal life with people physically except when I’m anonymous and no one knows who I am only then am I able to share a piece of my own personal story with other. And gambling is something I consider to be personal information and because of that I do not allow others know that I’m into gambling except when I’m in a football channel or groups where we discuss about gambling related stuff and sport related topics… that’s the only time I’m free to share them.

So for me, I prefer gambling alone - it’s actually better generally when compared to gambling with a friend; I can call a friend over to come watch a sport with me but for gambling I really don’t see the need to have anyone around.

Luckily, I do have some friends who are also fanatic into gambling. We share talks about our wins and losses, and some tips for further winnings, and most of all we learn new strategies from each other that we can apply when we start gambling again. That’s the advantage of having some friends who shared similar interests and goals, they make your life more meaningful and enjoyable, and for me, gambling could be a game changer for us.

On the other hand, gambling alone, without no one to share with your experiences is a bit unfortunate. But if that’s your preference, then there’s no problem even without gambling friends.

I have friends, we discuss a lot about games and some times they could ask or I might ask if they staked on a particular game, if they said yes, gues you already know what the outcome of the game was since we are following up with the match.

I have friends who gamble but we don't necessarily come together to discuss gambling strategies. Gambling to each of us is a personal thing. We have our jobs and families, so the attention on gambling is not much. We can come together to discuss and analyse sports and sometimes laugh at ourselves for our failures during our individual sport betting experiences or even celebrate ourselves for our wins; anything goes. I love my privacy too, whether I'm with friends or alone, it won't spoil the fun

Naturally, like minds attracts. It's not only in gambling do we need companionship, we do have/need it in whatever business or job we do. It's so we can compare and contrast what we're doing to judge where we're in progress or regress. They say, a tree doesn't make a forest. It's applicable in this context. However, that's not to say in doing that we should allow ourselves to be pressured into anything. It's to quicken us like iron sharpening iron.

This pattern have the disadvantage such that see a game that you know will work but others might discourage you, sometimes I feel like staying aloof to be able to think clearly and without any external influence.

I currently do not have friends I discuss my gambling activities with and I think I like it like this, I am not the type of person who loves or enjoys keeping lots of people around as my friends ,because this often can cause distractions or even sometimes may change the pattern of work when there are too much people giving opinion or advice concerning a particular subject or a way something should be done or a bet should be placed.

It's always very good to have people around whom one can talk to in times when matters arise and likes it's always said that two is better than one, he or she can reason with others and come up with a solution to a pressing problem.
But then, I think it's absolutely better to be alone than be with people who don't love you genuinely and don't care about your personal growth.

I always avoid gambling alone, and the reason is quite simple: when gambling alone, there is a high chance that I will gamble without control, and I have experienced this before. Meanwhile, when I gamble with friends, we can remind each other to stay aware and remain in control while gambling. And the sensation of gambling alone versus gambling with friends is very different. When gambling alone, even the smallest loss can sometimes be truly frustrating, while when gambling with friends, whether we win or lose, we can still laugh and enjoy ourselves. In other words, when gambling with friends, I find it much easier to accept the final outcome of the gambling session.

If it's just all about talk, that's fine. But sometimes, these friends of ours are the ones that are putting some bad decisions that we have to make and they're pushing us to do it for their own entertainment. Like doing an all in for some bets or doing more deposits when we've got enough already and we don't want to have further loss. And that's why you still get to choose the friends that you come along with because not all of them are your friends and they only become your friends when they have some benefits that they take from you.

Gambling is not like trading; you will enjoy gambling, especially sports trading, when you have a group of friends with the same mentality that you will share ideas on how to win games with because we all have our ways of thinking. If your friends share their ideas with you, you can use them to choose the teams you will bet on, and it will actually yield a better result because gambling mentality and trading mentality are entirely different.

Sometimes, your own instinct should work for you; you don’t have to agree with other people’s opinions if you are not comfortable with their choice so that you can’t blame anyone for making a mistake or big error that will lead you to lose money because it will be very painful.

Friendship circles are fundamentally built on certain bonds, based on shared interests, whether it's a hobby, a job, or even gambling. In gambling, besides winning, the most interesting aspect is sharing experiences and analyzing sports matches. Regardless of favorite teams, analyzing a match together actually strengthens the bond of friendship.

I think it's difficult to hide gambling activities from close friends, even though some people prefer to keep their gambling private. On the other hand, some friends can sometimes be the very reason someone gets involved in gambling. In my opinion, another great thing about gambling with friends is sharing your winnings with them, whether by treating them to a meal or giving them some money.

9 out of 10 times I'll be gambling alone online, either having a random go on slots or placing a bet with a bookmaker. It's a rare occasion but sometimes I'll go to a casino with friends or casually make some wagers when watching a game. That can make the experience more fun, having a laugh with friends and seeing who is able to walk away up for the session but sometimes they will take the bets too far - getting massively up then busting out seems a bit like a waste to me. On the even rarer occasion that I get into poker for a while (maybe once a year) it's also a solo setup, but I definitely seek out advice on forums and might even engage a little to find weaknesses in my game.

Tell me a better way other than losing and winning money with friends?

I'm part of a group of friends where we usually share ideas around bets, teams and options. No man is an island and from time to time, you'd begin to realize that you will need friends along the way just as the saying goes that if you want to go fast, you go alone but to go far, you go with people.

I have a friend I discuss bet with and he gives me 3 odds bets from time to time and I do the same from time to time. I've always liked it this way even in trading.

There’s a popular saying that birds of a feather flock together. Does this apply to your gambling experience? What I mean is, do you have more gambling friends with whom you can share your earnings or strategy, or do you prefer to be on your own, not telling anyone that you gamble?

This depends on my mood if I wanted someone to talk to.

Generally, I would visit physical casinos if I want an interactive experience where not only gambling would be my target. Whenever I visit physical casinos, I also enjoy all the amenities that come with it (e.g. buffets, hotel, alcohol, etc.) and I would bring either my brother or my friend to enjoy it with me.
In contrast, if I think that I would like to try my luck with some games, I would rather be alone and gamble at the convenience of my home rather than going outside.

At the end of the day, it really depends on one's preference because there are both advantages and disadvantages that come with it.

Gambling is fun when you gamble with friends. You share ideas, go to casinos, and do things together. There is a saying that says "A match does not make up a match box same as it is that a tree does not make up a forest" As a gambler, you can not do it all alone infact, most gamblers you see today became gamblers as a result of the company they keep and being a gambler you must have a friend who you both go to the casino together and you share bet odds and other stuffs as it relates to gambling and prediction.

It's more of a secret, as gambling is still very taboo and restricted in my country. Unless we're chatting and it turns out they share this activity, then we can chat and exchange ideas.

However, it's not that easy. At the very least, I'm grateful for this forum, which can be a place where we can exchange opinions, information, and even some tips.

I keep talking about the limits we shouldn't dare to cross if we must stay responsible; one of such is keeping friends that gamble too. Who's going to be a helping hand if anything goes south? To whom? That's pretty much like having a bunch of smokers as friends (and you smoke too) -- it's Very easy to get addicted, but letting go becomes a problem.

Quote
I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.
Why bother yourself then? Technology has made a very broad path that only 2-4 in 500 people close to you are interested in your type and pattern of gambling, unless you're a sport bettor.

It doesn't apply to my gambling way. I don't need any gambling friend in real life. I think it tends to bring harm over advantage. Talking about the strategy seems not useful because the strategy can be varied. No strategy that can really be effective to use in gambling games. Also, we must be aware that gambling is mostly about luck. So, strategy is just a small part of the winning opportunity. In addition, I am a typical of person who prefer to hide my gambling activities.

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.
If it is about sports in general, I think it is good to share insights. But when it is about gambling, I think it is no need to share each others. We have our own way in gambling. :D

If you don't have friends to share with, then how do you enjoy the fun in it or how do you learn and share your knowledge, experiences wins and others or how do you grow because in sharing of experience and others you gain more knowledge and understanding that will make gambling more easier for you, no matter how experienced or professional you may be, you still need to have a friend to share your life with either in saddeness or in joy, therefore keeping friends of the same habit is not a bad idea, mainly when you have good ones that are always concerned and there for you, good friend will not lead you astray but protect you, but when you notice that the friends you are keeping us not good for you, then it is better to be on your own and avoid problems that will come from friends, it is due to life experience that some persons make and take some certain decisions that they do for safety purpose.

If gambling privately is the best for you and you enjoy it, then it is good you do that.

Sometimes I still prefer to gamble alone the reason is that, my friends that are gamblers have lost a lot from gambling and at that their are always afraid to take chances even when they can easily win in such game, that have made me to see them as bad vibes for my gambling quest.

For that reason, I decide to gamble alone and in my closet on my Internet devices with such no one know exactly the next risk I am taking.

There’s always an advantage of you having some friends whom you can share your experience with gambling. Although I don’t see it necessary for others, but for me my friends actually help me in appreciating more the nature of gambling, and how we can benefit it in the future as long as responsible gambling is always present.

However, for some loner gamblers, it’s okay for them to have none because they are used to it. But the question is, just because they’re okay having no gambling friends then they just want to stay that way? I bet no, all of us need friends, just genuine friends that can help us rather than ruin us.

Gambling alone is a boring thing to do in our lives. But gambling with a circle of friends makes you more entertained despite losing. It was not the influence of friends why we're gamble, but rather to show how relationships are built stronger in all situations. This is one advantage of gambling. Of course, limitations should still be followed.

Sometimes in our lives, our friends could understand us better than our family. They'd rather give us advice while our family blames us.

Very few of the people I hang out with and the friends I have are familiar with gambling. Moreover, I don't hang out with them much, but I hang out with people who don't gamble. If I hung out with people who are into gambling, I would definitely be able to share my experiences with them. I know that if I gamble, I will definitely become a habit and at some point I may become addicted and lose control of myself. All things considered, I am not a big gambler, but sometimes I gamble very little, but I do it with great control. Moreover, if I gamble, I don't bet a lot of money at all, but I bet a small amount of money, which I can control myself if I lose.

I had a gambler friend who I enjoyed sharing experiences. However, we end reaching to a point in life where interests aren't common to each other anymore, and each one wishes to do things their own way. In this case, I identified gambling wasn't the way to go, while he continued faithful it was just a matter of finding the correct strategy to beat the casino. Since then, I haven't shared the company of a friend anymore on my gambling sessions.

Since then I have been watching videos, following some youtubers, and enjoying to follow their progress, but nothing close to friendships in gambling anymore. It's good to have a friend to talk about and share your gambling experiences, although it can't be anyone. It has to be someone who will be a positive influence and companion in your life.

Am not a gambler but even if I do their is no need gatherings friends around because it will be of no need to me, am a man that love doing things alone because a do not go by the crowd, I love leaving a private life. Many we say gambling will be more fun and interesting if their are mate or associate that gamble along side with them, yes they could be right because everyone has their own way of balling.

However, which ever ways you gamble either with friends or in low key  (alone) try not to get addicted to it because getting addicted is the only way that will lead you to yourdoom.

I have a bit of both but I prefer to be alone when it comes to gambling. When Im with my friends I didnt gamble much money, but when Im alone I have more wager funds. I dont know maybe its just Im shy to play and bet bigger when Im with my peers and differently when I am alone. Just a habit of mine, but sometimes its good to have someone to remind you to stop now dude.

I prefer to be alone playing gambling. I feel too many friends beside me in real life can interfere what I want to do. Sometimes I gather with them talk about gambling and share something. When we want to playing gambling, we will not play together very often.

That is because I don't want them know about my funds and from where I deposit the money. We also chat in our group and talk related to gambling and that is exciting to see their experience.

And sometimes, if someone of us have more accurate prediction on the match, we can pick his prediction to be our choice. That is just for fun only. But we know that we can not always make money from gambling and we always take care of us.

I think, based on what I've seen, that social gambling is less of a problem as gambler that do it alone.

I don't remember groups of friends putting all their money in and losing it all, but I have seen many people that are by themselves and continue gambling until they finish all their money.

It's a bit similar with alcohol addiction as well, usually groups of people drinking together are not as bad as the one person that drinks every day at home, alone.

Of course there are exceptions, but that's the general view I've seen.

My gambler friends are more of a casino players while as for me I prefer to do sportsbetting. Those friends of mine are real-life friends where some of them I can consider to be high-rollers. They go to casino to bet huge amount of cash and play competitvely.

In my case, I'm good with just online sportsbetting at the comfort of my home. I'm introverted enough that I can't handle going to physical casinos then interact with different people there.

Yes, there are some people who prefer to play with lots of friends, gambling with friends is not just about winning or losing but looking for excitement, which is difficult to describe when achieving victory. Besides that, discussions with friends from different backgrounds and experiences can open up new perspectives. This can help you see things from a different perspective and improve your strategy.

Moments like victories celebrated with friends can create unforgettable memories, and celebrating success together can strengthen bonds of friendship. Ultimately, both sharing, playing together, and playing alone have their own advantages and disadvantages. The most important thing is to do what makes you feel comfortable and safe in the activity.

I used to have such gambling buddies about twenty years ago. We played slot machines together. But over time, there are fewer and fewer friends around, and technology has evolved towards, let's say, privacy. I prefer privacy now. It's even better than when others know too much about some of your hobbies. The same applies to betting, but I've never been an avid football fan, the kind who doesn't miss a single match. So I don't lose anything if I just watch the match on the screen and not in the stadium with the fans...

It all depends on the environment. If I have friends gambling in the area, they're usually always brainstorming strategies to win. However, when I'm with my family, I gamble in secret, worried that if my younger siblings or children see me gambling, they'll be curious and try gambling too.

Yes we sometimes share information and betting strategies but that's about it, because the decision making process ultimately comes down to personal preference. Perhaps because gambling is best suited for solitude, I don't think it matters much whether you share your strategy with friends or not. Based on my experience when placing bets, that information is often ignored opting instead to rely on instinct.

definitely you must have 1 or 2 gambling friends who you will shear thought with. sometimes going to the casino shop you will meet people to shear the same thought with even if they where not your friend, but there is a high tendency that you must meet that gambler who both of you will shear thought.

Of course, I don't have any gambling friends, but there are many neighbors in the area who are addicted to gambling. I meet them at the playground and usually when I go shopping at the market, but they are not my friends. Personally, I don't hang out with them, but I have some school friends who are currently working in different organizations. Unfortunately, one or two of them are addicted to gambling, but I hang out with them every now and then. It can be said that they are my friends, but not regularly. However, I don't like to be alone. Besides spending time with my family, I usually play games with the young boys in the area in the field in the afternoon. Most of them are addicted to mobile games but they are not gamblers.

Yes I have gambling friends and we all share ideas on games, we analyse games together especially football. We don't share winnings, everyone is entitled to their winnings and we don't feel entitled to friends winnings, because when we lose bets we bear the burden of the loss alone. There was a time early in my gambling journey when my friends and I used to add money together to gamble in order to increase our winning amount. We will add up our resources together and accumulate smaller odds which we think is more likely to play. When such collaboration turns out good, that's only when we share winnings together.

There will be 2 scenario that i want, I want to play with friends in a physical casino which we can enjoy drinking and eating while gambling and release our inner child.
The other is my peace of mind and relaxation at home playing online casino and have fun alone.

Where money is involved, friends don't exist. Unfortunately, interest doesn't bind people together. If you're true friends before gambling, your friend will be truly happy with your wins and truly saddened by your losses.
Friendship is a serious thing. I only have one friend; he's now taken the religious path and become a Franciscan friar. I don't consider all the other people I hang out with friends, but simply acquaintances.
I prefer to gamble alone, and if I manage to win, I share it with my wife.

It is common to have people you share gambling predictions with especially in sports betting. Sharing ideas about game predictions sometimes yields positive results. But there are no rules that wins will be shared among us. Winners might decide to give out gifts to members if they want, but it is not compulsory. But these discussion or analysis groups are not my friends because we are just bonded by gambling. I also get game from prediction sites or social media platforms.

Even in this forum, we always share some insights into what we do in our gambling or betting activities because it can be seen as a natural way to share experiences. However, it would be absurd to ask for or share the results of our winnings.

Unfortunately, such nonsense does happen, especially among close friends in my area. I have some friends who gamble, even on local sites, but they still engage in gambling, especially for slot games. They always play together, and I often hear them say that whenever one of them wins, they must at least give a tip to each of the losers, and this situation keeps repeating itself. That’s why I always keep to myself when gambling because, besides not playing on local sites (with local currency) and preferring crypto gambling as a game, this is also to avoid the irrational things my friends often do these days.

I do think that the opposite is also true, in the sense that you could in theory help a friend instead of a stranger to get a deal, and get money.

But I see your point, that when cold cash is involved, people can betray their friends for personal gain.

I think as usual there needs to be some kind of balance between friends and money. Of course a bit of money is fine to loan, etc, but a big amount?, that means you'll probably lose it, and your friend as well.

I have a friend who is very good at betting, and I can consult with him about bets, but this happens rarely because I mostly choose bets myself, sometimes I can share my bets with him to find out his opinion. But now he almost never bets and follows teams less, so I think this can affect the quality of forecasts. And so I am of the opinion that bets should be made only based on your knowledge and do it yourself. If in this case you can win something then everything will be fine.

I don’t rely on others’ opinions and I like making decisions on my own. Of course, sometimes it’s useful to hear advice, but I believe the most important thing is to know yourself and your limits.

For me, the topic highlights exactly what I talk about regularly. For me, gambling is time spent with friends; I don’t see any other way to play and have fun. Since our schedule is busy, we sometimes set aside time for entertainment, and gambling will always be on the list of these entertainments. What happens next? After someone wins, if this happens, our meeting begins to gain momentum; with this money, we either drink it or eat it away. Unfortunately, a large prize never happened, so we spent all that small change without regret.

They’d surely gossip about me if they knew about my gambling habits. Gambling isn’t new in our community, but still, nah. However, if it’s playing in the local perya, I love going out with my cousins and betting on the same number or color. They’re not into online gambling, and since I’m one of the eldest, I don’t want them following in my footsteps, especially they are still in their early 20's and still studying in college.

I am a lone wolf when it comes to gambling as I like to play in a very quiet place like my room laying in my coach with the ambient lights. This of course regarding only when I play slot machines as when it comes to sport betting I always discuss my betting ideas with colleagues or friends and we even watch important games together, of course when I am betting in sport betting I am not spending the same amount of money that I do when I am playing slots, in slot machines the budget is much higher and that is why I like to be in a very quiet place when playing slot machines. I consider sport betting like something to have fun with friends as it really cannot give you the substantial win you can get if you hit a huge or max win by playing slot machines.

I have gambling friends, sometimes I even take games from them but not always and I only do that when I don't have so much time to do prediction on my own. These guys are my friends right from college and we have been doing a lot of things together right from then, sometimes we go to the casino together. I can gamble alone and also with my friends but that's if I have enough time to sit out with them.

I have some friends who gamble but everyone tries to keep their gambling activity hidden. And no one shares their strategy or admits that they continue to gamble. But sometimes they tell stories of their winnings. Although all of them are conscious gamblers that is why they do not want anyone to know about their gambling activity. I also do not tell anyone about my gambling. Because my friends do not like that I gamble openly. Because if everyone knows about this activity, if they ever need financial help, they all refuse to do it because they think that they will gamble with that money. And if they lose that money, they will not be able to pay it back.

Gambling friend is such an unusual thing to hear :D However, I do have buddies with who we play different games (gambling, table games, any sort of competitions) and put money on stake. In my wild youth, I had a friend (dunno if its ok to say had, as we are still friends) with who we used to participate in offline poker tournaments. And sometimes we put two laptops together and participate in poker freeroll tournaments (but that was more fun and drinking, than serious gambling).

I still don’t get the point of this post, are you trying to talk about which has advantage or benefits over the other. Well as for having friends who you gamble with or share ideas about you gambling strategies is something every one do. I have friends who normally come around during weekends, we put head together and try to forecast a good game, but that doesn’t always guarantee out winning.

I know of people who intend to keep their gambling life so private that you can barely know that they even gamble. These is just about individual differences, sharing ideas with friends or not doesn’t guarantee you winning so to me it doesn’t really matters. The thing is just who which works for you and stick to it.

I have some friends who are gambling as well, but I have no confidence in sharing strategies, earnings, etc… I prefer to be alone rather than with them. Not because I don't like them, but I don't want to be influenced by their gambling behavior.

Yes, the same feather flocks together. That is why I'm worried about being close to them when gambling, as it could lead to addiction. I've already learned in the past, and so I don't want it to happen again, knowing the terrible things it creates.

I usually gamble alone, from home in the comfort of my sofa and on my phone, because I like to have everything which has anything to do with money only for my own knowledge. It would be a little bit uncomfortable to have people to know whether I end up winning a significant amount of money.
However, I recognize there is an advantage on gambling with people, it is less likely to become addicted to gambling if one is a social gambler.

Both gambling alone and gambling with friends have their own advantages and disadvantages, people who are not so social will definitely prefer to keep their gambling activities in private.

I have few friends, who make bets like me. It is interesting to meet them after weekend and change opinions about bets, odds and results.
Today the world is mostly online, so even during match day we share information we have and planning bets online. After it waiting the result becomes more interesting. Someone watch the game and share information in chat, someone celebrate every goal, someone find high odds or interesting events.
I think that it would be more interesting and funny to bet together but online betting with chat is more effective. Ideal situation is online betting and offline talks after match day.

I have gambling friends whom I share information with, I'm in a platform where we as friends share gambling tips among other things. Sharing and comparing tips is fun and we are not obligated to accept what is unanimously agreed, everybody has to decide what they want to bet on. Gambling is not like serious mathematics or serious decision making that lives can depend on so me and my gambling friends can casually discuss about our bets nothing serious. I agree that it's fun to discuss about sports and bets it makes friends with such common interest to bond.

ah so you play to pass the time or to make money, if you play to pass the time your fun is in being with friends and exchanging information
This morning at the bar my partner was making fun of his AC Milan fan friend and they were laughing, this is what sport or betting should do, bring people together

I think keeping such company is the best thing to do because this helps you maintain a positive mindset about gambling...its important to have those that encourage you positively to make the right decisions...influence matters a lot, there are people that gamble irresponsibly because of the type of company that they keep...your cycle of friends can either affect you positively or negatively...gambling can be entertaining with the right people

I also prefer to gamble alone, but because I dont like to be bothered or interrupted while I am enjoying the process. When I spend my money, I prefer to get good experience from spending them, and I dont like to hear someone talking all the time bla-bla-bla near me, or ask me something. That is why I prefer online gambling. That does not mean I skip offline casinos (but frankly, I a rare guest there), but if I am there, I spend time with people and gambling is always secondary.

Absolutely right topic, because I think that when someone with his friends starts to get involved with gambling or sports betting, then in general they all participate in the same type of gambling entertainment.
For example, when I didn't know about gambling yet, my best friend told me about poker and after that we started playing this game constantly and shared results, thoughts and strategies about it.
Also, many years later, another friend of mine starts telling me about sports betting. After that, we start betting on the same Leagues and share our thoughts about it.

I prefer gambling solo mainly because I can focus on my game without considering others gambling status like when I’m winning while my friend is losing that can affect to my mood.

Also there’s no sense to gamble with friends if you will play games that only need to play solo like slot games or sports betting.

The only time I might consider gambling with friends is when we will just having a good time on physical casino like gambling a little then enjoy the casino amenities most of our time to relax.

When I played poker for profit, I treated it like a job, or rather a side hustle, and I played alone, although I participated in poker forums, but I didn't contact friends in real life because of it. There was a time when live poker became popular, in informal games with small stakes, and I would occasionally go to the casino to play poker, and there I did go with friends, but it wasn't my main activity.

I mostly gamble alone because it's hard to match a time with my friends.

Gambling alone isn't that bad too, it gives us to choose whatever we want without getting any intervention over our friends.

Friendship is a serious thing. I only have one friend; he's now taken the religious path and become a Franciscan friar. I don't consider all the other people I hang out with friends, but simply acquaintances.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you consider friend is someone who have a high empathy, you only want to be a friend with a loser. A loser, in most case have no power in social and I don't see any reason to spend a lot time with such people.

Friend isn't someone you can share about everything though, it's about both people are giving benefit to each other.

That saying is true, but I didn't share any information even though I knew he was a gambler because we were friends at X, then attended an event at the casino in X, then I greeted him, and eventually we had a conversation.

I also had a fairly lengthy discussion about betting and the games he enjoys, and whether he’s ever had big wins or losses, but we never shared information about football betting, for example. Instead, we kept each other’s secrets and bet on who could win the biggest prize by the end of the season.

It became more interesting because it felt like I had a rival in this field and was trying to give my best to beat my friend.

on certain special occasions or when we are looking for something fun to do, it may make sense to gamble with friends, but if you include your friends in your strategy, it will probably not end well.

gambling -as a method of making money- should remain a personal matter. including friends as part of the fun is perfectly fine, but when the primary goal of gambling is to increase my budget within a specific plan, my friends should not be involved. when everyone has their own opinions, choices don't make sense.

I do not have gambling friends, so I just do it alone and entirely online because so far I have only been gambling online. I used to play card games with siblings during the long holiday, just playing with very little money and just having fun.
I thought I would never have friends to gamble with considering gambling is viewed negatively in my community, so it's better to stay hidden.

My friends like to share their game strategies, and they can spend a lot of time chatting about it and the results of the matches or old bets, I personally find that boring, I prefer to make my bets without external influences that can make me deviate from my own criteria, so whether I win or lose it was based on my own decisions and not theirs, I also believe that this gives me bad luck, I do not like others knowing my play.

I usually gamble alone, in this case I do not gamble with friends or in groups. Gambling is a risky business where my friends may blame me if I lose, so I do not encourage any of my friends to gamble. A long time ago I told an online friend about gambling and he bet on a football club as I told him and I was sure that the club would win the bet but in the end the football match ended in a draw. In that case my online friend lost $50 for which he blamed me and I have not suggested anyone to gamble since then.

Honestly, I don't have any gambling friends for now, it was back then that I have. Although right from time I normally like to gamble alone because sometimes your friend can actually discourage you from winning. This has happened to me several times in one popular game like that in my area, so ever since then I always do it in my comfort zone. Because I often win when I gamble on my own and it has master me in such a way that I only have trust on my predictions.

Yes, I have many friends who gamble, but we don't usually gamble together, but sometimes when we hang out as friends in the afternoon, we play some card games or Ludo games, but as gambling, we bet the money for tea and cigarettes on the loser and it's basically fun.
But besides that, I don't think our friends need to get together to gamble in this modern era because there is thousands of sites on online . That's why I prefer to gamble alone. And besides, gambling is never well-received in our society, so I prefer it to be a privately.

I used to enjoy gambling with friends, or even with other people. But unless it's a poker tournament, i want to avoid it.

My reasoning is, that when i am alone, it's easier for me to control myself and how much i am spending. When it's with friends, even if alcohol wouldn't be part of the fun, i wouldn't want to be the debbie downer who says that i need to leave, as i don't have any money. Nor i would like to be the one winning while others would have lost their money. I would feel obligated to help.

And just watching others play wouldn't be fun. I wouldn't have any stakes or control over it, so i would get bored easily.

Title: Re: Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone.

I fall into one of those two categories: I have friends who are gamblers, even more than five. Sometimes I gamble with them at the same time, but sometimes I gamble alone. It depends on my desires and mood. Sometimes I want to gamble with friends because it's more fun, but sometimes I want to play alone. I'm sure other gamblers experience the same thing.

Discussing decisions together and seeing the results together really makes the situation more enjoyable. But I will tell you that sometimes when we win, we usually have to be prepared to give some of the money to our friends. My friends usually ask for a share, and they accept whatever amount I give them. But sometimes I like to take the initiative to give some of my winnings even if they don't ask for it. I don't focus too much on the winnings; for me, the important thing is that the experience is enjoyable. ;D

To be honest, i have several friends who often gamble together, but unfortunately they don't gamble on boxing matches, horse racing, or other sports betting. Instead, they focus on slot machine gambling, which relies on luck with every spin. We know that no strategy is enough to help here.  I’ve often said that if you want to gamble, it’s better to place bets on sports like soccer. This is certainly better, as it not only increases your chances of winning through analysis but also allows you to enjoy the game itself.

The most important thing in such a case is to take it calmly, because if one friend convinces all the other friends that a certain bet should be made, which then turns out to be wrong, he can be blamed.
I know that this will not be an obstacle to a good friendship if it is really strong.
But still, I always go when everyone places a bet based solely on their own conclusions and experience, and therefore everyone will be jointly responsible exclusively for their own decision.

Yes, I have some friends who are involved in gambling. I often discuss various sporting and live casino with them. My friends are more experienced in sports betting so I get tips from them and learn constantly. Meanwhile, I can play live casino well so I share my strategies with them. It seems like a win-win situation on both sides. It is impossible to say who has more experience and who has more skills so we get very good results by sharing with each other.

It's like planning before the game starts. Who will play on which field and who will play which role.

I have friends too that share common interest in gambling and sports betting as well. But I don't want to be with them if it's about my personal bets and gambling activities.

While them, they don't mind sharing it to me on how they're doing and how much they're winning and which bets that they are on.

And so, I prefer to be alone because I think that it's invading my personal space if I get along with them or it's just me that becomes irritated when I have them with me and trying to meddle with my bets.

Got it, you wanna keep your gambling on the down low due to serious privacy issues. however know that isolation may create some serious impacts. imo not telling anyone about gambling may result in loneliness, anxiety, depression and even suicidal thoughts since you would not have any kind of support which could cause shame accumulation very fast. you will find the majority of people with gambling problems do not discuss the problem with anybody, primarily due to the stigma, however those who do tend to feel better as a result of the discussion. Confiding in just a single person you trust can lighten that load and help you see it from another angle, bruh.

And when I lose money in gambling my friends scold me. They say that sports betting is easy and you can win easily there why do I play casino games which are very risky. And I don't tell them anything. I enjoy casino games alone. And the reason is that casino games can be played anytime and are very fun.

Honestly, I came up with the wrong approach. I was in the wrong gambling environment, and that's why I came up with the wrong perspective and mindset: trying to make money from gambling.

But honestly, a friend who told me about gambling initially asked me, "Are you sure you want to try gambling?" I said, "Yes," and then he said, "Actually, I don't want you to get involved in gambling, but okay, I'll teach you, but don't blame me if something happens to you. Gamble carefully."

Honestly, I deeply regret not following my friend's advice. But my curiosity was really hard to ignore, and finally, a few months ago, I experienced a lot of setbacks as a result of my gambling mistakes. Now I'm aware of it and am trying to fix it. Please pray for me, friend. :)

And when I lose money in gambling my friends scold me. They say that sports betting is easy and you can win easily there why do I play casino games which are very risky. And I don't tell them anything. I enjoy casino games alone. And the reason is that casino games can be played anytime and are very fun.
I think it is also annoying to share the topic of gambling with friends because many people cannot keep it to themselves. There are some who share something about their losses and then share it with someone else, which I think is a violation of privacy. Maybe that friend can share the topic with someone else out of regret, but if the topic of gambling spreads like this, it will definitely not be beneficial for the gambler. The more silent you can be about gambling, you will feel better.

I gamble alone, not because I prefer it that way precisely, but because of pure chance. In fact, some of my friends love betting on sports (on sports that I don't like, unfortunately) or gamble but in platforms or physical locations I don't like. So, although I would like to have some friends I could talk to about my gambling experiences, the most similar experience I find it in this forum.

I do both, there are times where i gamble with friends  and there are times where I  just prefer to gamble alone probably because  of the type of game I'm gambling on. In sport betting, most times i like to share insight with my friends it make the whole thing more fun. Sometimes we win when luck is on our side but sometimes we loses come around. Whether we gamble with friends or on our own it all ends up in luck being the major determinate of the result. But sometimes the quietness is what we need to keep our mind focus to make the best decisions that we can.

Depends on if you mean physically or through the internet.

In a physical casino? With friends, sure. It would be sad and lonely to go alone.

But digital, at home? I do not see the point of inviting over your friends to gamble from your own device. That seems just as sad and lonely as going to a physical casino by yourself. But I can see the fun in chatting over the internet with friends while you gamble, to talk about stuff like insights on matches or races. But does that really count as being alone or with friends? I say it counts as alone as well.

Do you have gambling friends or you prefer to be alone?

Well, gambling friends ain't no good in here, I think. Because they are only your friends if you give some portions of your winnings, if you don't, then you're just nothing like a stranger to them. There will always be acquaintances, but don't treat them like your real friends.
I'm not sure if the same works in other places/countries. I'd rather have to gamble alone, because I don't like talking too much while concentrating on something where my money is on the line lol.

I have gambling buddies and we go out together to gamble whenever we feel like. Some weeks we share codes and crosscheck the matches we choose to play. When we have similar choices, we double down money on those games because it's like we might get good returns from that game and most times, this has worked out for us but we have some days that we loss.

Gambling for me and my buddies are like fun activities we have although sometimes we play it to see who makes the biggest money and the individual gets to sponsor the entertainment for that day by buying drinks and food. Gambling with your friend is better than gambling alone. With this strategy we get to make the games fun despite we losing the game.

I have friends that i gamble with and we used to share strategy together whenever we are gambling and anyone that lose his bet first, we will make fun of that person and the person we tell us that we are going to lose our bet the same way he lost his own bet. I gamble on my own now because some of my friends parents weren't happy their child were gambling, so for me not to seen as the person influencing their child to gamble, i prefer to gamble on my own so that i could maintain my friendship with my friends and also not bear a bad name that i am not.

I have a few friends who bet; we talk a lot about game outcomes and share some predictions, but I place my bets alone. Not everyone likes or follows the same sports as me. In a way, most of my bets are on casino games. I like slots and blackjack. I place a few sports bets, and when I do, it's usually on soccer and basketball.

I think that we've got a lot in common that we have friends that share the same discussions about the sports that we like to bet on. Soccer, basketball and even boxing. What's good with this is you get to have some sense or nonsense talk with them, and you get to jam with your friends. But never trust them with the bets that we do and it should come from us if. I also like to do it by myself and it's my money so it's gonna be my rules and I don't want someone to dictate what they want to bet and do it for me. I can hear them if they have some predictions but it's my last decision to put up whichever bet I want to.

In fact, in life you have to deal with many types of people. While dealing with many types of people, at some point you find that you form relationships with some people where you become friends or comrades with them. However, I spend the most time with them. Like me, they sometimes gamble for fun. However, none of my friends are professional gamblers or I have any friends who are not addicted to gambling. When some of us started playing sports, maybe we participated in gambling with very small amounts of money for fun, but that too online. Now we don't gamble offline anymore because gambling offline is already a big insult to ourselves because it lacks a lot of dignity. However, participating in gambling with friends is very fun, which cannot be found anywhere else or can never be enjoyed alone.

Just do it alone, that's best for you and your friendship with other. And if you are bet on individual irrespective of others choice and then gather around only to watch the game or to see who won the game then its good but when you all are betting on one together then someone will have to take the blame if you lose the bet. We can say we don't like that and we all share the responsibility among everyone but that's not the reality and that's why there's always misunderstanding happens even between the close partners.

on certain special occasions or when we are looking for something fun to do, it may make sense to gamble with friends, but if you include your friends in your strategy, it will probably not end well.

gambling -as a method of making money- should remain a personal matter. including friends as part of the fun is perfectly fine, but when the primary goal of gambling is to increase my budget within a specific plan, my friends should not be involved. when everyone has their own opinions, choices don't make sense.

You said it all! Playing with friends is great, but if they don't share your vision, it can end up pulling you down the wrong path. It's better to surround yourself with people who respect your limits too! We shouldn't always trust people who make us rude.

We could say that the common users of this board are a cohort of gamblers even if we dont know each other face to face.

The people in gambling will always have the habit of taking money from each other. Hence real friends are hard to find,  most are looking for some quick change to gamble their way into the night.

Still in real life games you might actually make some friends. But look out for cash grabbers.

That's all true, but nevertheless, friendly communication is full of disputes, when everyone proves that his opinion is absolutely correct and often in this way one friend can persuade another to his opinion, but this does not prevent the latter from later accusing him of literally forcing his bet on him.
Because we know that we may all be serious adults, but our conscience works in such a way that we always look for someone to blame other than ourselves.

And even though such cases are few, it is nevertheless always unpleasant when someone tells you that he had his own opinion, but decided to listen to you, and because of this he lost money.

It is not the same like gambling with friends.
We can play poker and the part of us would lose money, but we willn`t be angry for it. We would share our bets to each other and be happy if someone more would win. Here i wouldn`t be happy if someone will get my money in poker.

I don't even see the need for combined gambling. Being with a circle of friends who are all gamblers, the best we can do for each other is talk about gambling and share tips, which we should, and bring out suggestions about our honest view in a particular game. From that, each of us can then decide on what to bet on and what not to bet on. It's all a matter of our choice now, because it will even become complicated if we are to place bets on the same thing, as our choices might vary from one another.

Although I would like to share my gambling activities with people offline, like I said before, you are right that it has many inconveniences. I'm not talking only about your privacy if they talk about you with third parties (at least in my country, although gambling is widespread, it's still not seen with very good eyes by some people) but because I also think that when you know them in person, people are more prone to lie about their results, like if their egos wouldn't let them admit some embarrassing loses, but would encourage them to brag about their victories. Such biases are more common in person, I think (and in other social media), but here in bitcointalk, on the contrary, I think that we're more honest with our results and admit our loses more naturally. What do you think?

The only time i bet with friends, is on physical gambling. like snooker betting or ps4 game betting, aside this everyone faces their gamble life alone, at time when we meet we do share bet code, then i will edit it to my choice and stake on it. Gambling with friends might ruin the relationship, their parents might see you as bad influence, its better you gamble alone.

Do not be a the reason why your friend will disrespect or steal from his parent, many people borrow and steal to stake bet, so be guide and stop sharing code with them, let them not tarnish your image. Bet on a low key, if you friends want to bet let them do it by themselves. Do not engage your friends who does not play gamble to gamble. So that tomorrow they wont blame you for their misfortune.

That is the perspective of someone from the opposite side now what if they don't even blame us but just let us know that they wanted to bet on X but they also decided to bet on team Y because I am going to bet on them can create some guilt on ourselves that is why better don't discuss at all with others prior our betting and then it is okay to discuss how much they won with the closed group but there's another view of jealousy comes in play if I won and other party lost and over time it can also lead to hate crimes and many other things.

I prefer not to share my gambling activity to my friends as I don't want to influence them to play. Because they're not into gambling, I gamble online alone during free time. I'm more open regarding my gambling session to my partner, he's the one I can talk to about it whether about losses or winnings.

I would not say that I have gambling friends,  but rather I will say that I have friends that gamble. So we do share strategies and also our winnings with each other. I would even say that sharing this strategies and winning is also part of the fun of gambling and I really don't if there is anyone that gambles without letting anyone know about it.
Gambling for me is fun and entertainment,  so it's more fun or entertaining when you share with friends and we celebrate our wins and also laugh at our loses. This is just my opinion and I am sure that some other person might think differently.

I gamble solo because I don't want to have doubts on what I decide because there are other players that contributes to decision. I play solo since I prefer it and I'm at peace when I have the control for every decision, it's easy, peaceful and the profit is only yours.

If I lose then there's no one to be blamed on the outcome, the weight is on your shoulders so it's preferable to gambling solo. But if it's really for fun like losing money is not a big deal then it's fun, having a good bonding through gambling and laugh all of your losses, to avoid stress because it's just an entertainment.

I have some friends who are professional gamblers, but they have never actually suggested that I bet on anyone else. However, my interest in gambling actually started on the Bitcoin forum because while working on the promotion campaign, I occasionally gambled, which is where my interest in gambling began. I still occasionally gamble, but it's not an addiction for me. I only gamble when I need entertainment, and I try to abstain from gambling.

You have a good mindset, being considerate enough to your friends by not showing them your gambling activities. That's great, my friend. I also sometimes avoid gambling when a friend approaches me, even though he's not a gambler. The reason is almost the same as yours: I'm afraid they'll be influenced or tempted to try gambling like I do.

Honestly, I act this way with everyone, including my partner. I'm afraid my partner's perspective on me will be damaged by knowing I'm a gambler. As we know, it's not uncommon for married couples to end up divorcing due to financial reasons caused by one of their partners being a gambler.

I don't know if anyone finds entertainment in gambling alone but my experience is that I share various aspects of gambling with my friends and help each other by exchanging experiences. If you have a group of 8-10 or more gamblers then it is easy to learn about their experience and betting predictions and any new things related to gambling. Through mutual cooperation along with getting entertainment in gambling the chances of winning increase a lot. For example you can easily get detailed information about any new gambling platform whether online or physical and the benefits they provide and the chances of winning.

It doesn't matter what you choose to do but all that matters is that you win in anything that you try to do. If you have gambling friends, take advantage of them and improve your gambling results. Don't be the individual that everybody depends on for gambling results instead take advantage of the friends that you're following and improve your gambling results. If you have friends that you can't learn anything from then change friends. Do things that'll give you an advantage and help you in profiting them because you're entitled to being helped and not always the one that gives out the help. Gambling with people can be beneficial to you but you just have to know how to make use of that opportunity very well..

As they have the most community of fans, who shares knowledge and tips analyzing which team or player is most likely to perform best in their forthcoming match. Hence, when it comes to the question if I have gambling friends or gamble alone, I will say that I have group of friends where we analyze games together and bet with an amount we can always afford to lose.

Having a gambling friends or mate will make you to be addicted in gambling, so I believe that as a gambler, you need to follow your own ways of gambling method, do not have a group kind of gambling mates that might lead you to be addicted in gambling, in other way round once someone is addicted in the group other's may be indirectly be affected

In other way round, if you wants to make it in gambling you have to follow your own direction in gambling, and not basically depends on other people kinds of gambling.

In the past, i had gambling friends that we do make predictions and analysis together but that was when i use to go to physical gambling shops but when i started gambling online i prefer my own predictions, i no longer seek for anyone's opinion before i place my bets. I like my own space and i bet based on my personal conviction, even when am around gamblers and they are talking about a possible outcome of an event, i don't listen to them as i will just bet on my own.

Then you are not a hard core gambler, you only gamble for fun and for personal reasons, if you gamble this way then you don't need to associate with friends when doing so, also this might depends on your lifestyle too.

In my own case, I was gambling with friends before until I stopped gambling, ever since then, my friends no longer talk about gambling with me.

Sometimes I like gambling alone without any noise from no one and most times I like being around friends while gambling and together we share strategies and talk about different clubs, it's actually very boring gambling alone and my friends and I have the same gambling fantasies,  so we make sure we don't go overboard. It's more safer for me to gamble with friends because they lookout for me anytime I really to chase losses and I do the same for them too. My friend and I make different decisions and we have different opinions so we don't necessarily do the same thing in placing a bet but rather we share tips and reviews while watching the game.

Even when I'm with him and I want to gamble, I do it alone without showing it because I'm more comfortable gambling alone, after all. But I always tell him about the results, and my friend does the same.
Something I like to do with my friend is remind each other not to overdo it when gambling, because we have other activities to attend to as well.

It's much better to do it alone, as doing it together can often disrupt concentration and lead to feedback that doesn't align with our expectations. The key is to remind each other not to overspend. However, the most enjoyable part is if one of you is lucky enough to win the game, you can treat each other to celebrate.

I have gambler friends with whom I can share my insights on boxing matches and horse racing. Honestly, it’s hard not to have friends in gambling because you want to talk to someone with the same interests.

I got one or two friends that we mostly make strategies together to hit big on a game and that's literally one part of fun in gambling, having people of the same interest that share ideas that profits them. Sometimes being alone won't give you that zeal to strive but a council of few friends can proves a positive reports.

Of course that is right but most time friends often leads people to doing what they aren't meant to do. Though it's actually good to have friends that shares same interest with us whenever it comes to what we are doing, it could be game, studying or place of work. Sharing ideas helps a lot to contribute to the overall growth of business or whatever you guys are doing. I also have few of them but since my gambling activities are often regulated they finds it that difficult to regularly calls me to gamble.

I don’t know if there is a similar topic, but if there is, let me know, and I’ll lock this right away.

There's another aspect in gambling that people don't usually consider, which is the "luck" other people bring.

As long as the gambler next to you is winning, all is well, but the moment they start losing, I think it might even be dangerous to be around them, because people can get quite violent and irrational when they lose all their money

That's cool. Having someone to discuss your gambling activities makes the games more enjoyable.

I also have friends here in our neighborhood who I can discuss my gambling activities although they rarely place bets. Most of the time, they only do it during the Playoffs and the Finals of the NBA. It's nice, though, having someone to discuss the results of the bets and also the game itself. We love watching the NBA, and there are times we gamble against each other, but only for snacks and drinks. Only the loser will pay, but we will all share what he bought.

Having friends who gamble doesn't mean you'll end up addicted. The most important thing is to have self-control and know your limits, especially when gambling involves gambling. Enjoy having fun with friends, but know when to stop. At the end of the day, it's just a game, and it should remain just fun.

The problem is indeed just about self-control, because I have friends who gamble.
There are 2 of my friends who both play in gambling, let's say Doni and Gery (pseudonym).

Doni prefers gambling because he just wants to find entertainment with gambling,
but does not use too much money and Doni knows where his limits are to gamble so that it does not disturb him mentally and there are no big losses.

While Gary is more intense in gambling and focus, he gets big wins with quite a lot of capital.
At first, he got the jackpot, but he forgot to stop and kept playing until eventually he lost his winnings as well as his initial capital and made him stressed and had some debt due to gambling.

Gambling is indeed just a game, and this will depend on each player whether he becomes a responsible player or not.
Because many end up regretting losing money in gambling, but some people just make gambling as entertainment.

The author gave a funny proverb in the start post. But there is another common proverb "Eagles do not fly in flocks". There are gambling games that attract other people, and there are those that repel people from each other. Thus, we can say that there are so-called introverted and extroverted games. In games like poker, you cannot play alone even if you want to. But, for example, many casino games, such as roulette or slots, although they may imply the presence of friends nearby, do not actually need friends. It is funny that in many casinos there are rows of slot machines and people sit next to each other in rows, but at the same time they do not need communication as such for obvious reasons. In online gambling, this is even more noticeable.

Not everyone is like that, my friend. Some friends also enjoy gambling, but the good thing about it is that we remind each other, like my friend and I, who also enjoy gambling. Even though we enjoy gambling, that doesn't mean we lead each other on. Instead, we remind each other that we have other, more important needs, so don't overdo it when gambling, whether you win or lose. Reminding each other is a good thing. While I'm honestly more comfortable gambling alone, having someone else gamble with me isn't always a bad thing.

Gambling is fun when you gamble with friends. You share ideas, go to casinos, and do things together.

You're right but up to a certain point, after that point one must do things for themselves, there is no other option, it also depends on the type of personality of the person, there are people who want to do everything with their friends, others are more solitary, go out from time to time, what happens is that going out to gamble with a group of friends is very easy to associate and bet together , sometimes that can bring problems, there will always be misunderstandings with money.

I fall into both categories: sometimes I gamble alone, sometimes with friends. Honestly, I'm in a very active gambling environment. I have many gambling friends, and sometimes when I win, I give some of my winnings to them, or vice versa, when they win, they don't hesitate to give me some of their winnings. For me, as long as we're having fun, those actions are fine and don't harm me.
Honestly, I and some of my gambling friends share the same understanding that most games rely on luck, so we gamble abstractly in whatever way we like.

Yes it do applies to my gambling experience, to be honest I did not even start gambling on my own if all started with friends introducing into it, I started, started learning how to play and predict games on my own, with I can now do today without the help of anyone. So like you said beds of same feather flock together, I can do share my gambling experience with friends and they do open up and share their own too.
To me when we share gambling experience together I will know how to re arrange my next game am going to bet on or how I will play the next, after hearing from everyone side that why we bring up chat like predicting game's, which and which do you think will win if you place a bet on. To me that's how it should be done and not hiding experience.

Yes, at some point, it is not always get together to do everything together. Sometimes a wrong prediction by some friends can lead to misunderstanding by friends and blaming if such an idea came as an opposition to the real idea, maybe a bet odds or so. Like me, sometimes I go out with my friends and we play games together, and at times we win our bet, and also sometimes the reverse is the case, and we accept it, whatever the result is, because we have resolved to make decisions whenever we are doing things together, and we accept the results.

The reason why a lot of people don’t see gambling in a positive way is because of the risks that are involved, and again, it’s not something that a person can rely on. That’s why I wonder about those that take it as their personal source of income, and it’s not all the time that their predictions come out positive. I would rather find something to do specifically than take gambling as my personal way of income. Because it’s known that the salary they will be paying you is based on what you played the day before you get paid; that means if all the games you bet are intact, even though a friend shares his ideas, not all the time his ideas will come out as a victory.
