Title: Bitcoin Security
Post by: pancelot on August 28, 2025, 10:49:11 AM
The rapid development of overlay computing today has become a concern for users of classical cryptographic algorithms like Bitcoin, particularly the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). I believe this algorithm would be easily cracked using overlay algorithms like Shor's. This ultimately raises the question of Bitcoin's future security. Ultimately, while I'm confident developers and others will implement appropriate security measures,

So, how do we address quantum computing threats with the ECDSA algorithm that will be used in Bitcoin?

Also people keep on asking the same or similar question about bitcoin about quantum computing. Did you know that even the banks and many organizations will be affected by quantum computers?

Just do not reuse bitcoin address and you will not be affected.

Most likely.

Many users before the OP already asked about it, and got many different views and answers on the matter.

I strongly agree that Bitcoin security will continue to be developed as time goes by, considering that people's enthusiasm for investing in Bitcoin is very large and continues to grow, and I also predict that in the future the use of Bitcoin will become more massive and targeted.

If all of this stuff becomes a reality, BTC wouldn't have the biggest target on its back, though it would still be there.

And I do believe that by the time it - will - happen, BTC will be ready for it..

From your previous post, you already stated that you a newbie
I would advice searching for topics before creating another
You can use Google Search engine or alternative while adding bitcointalk to the topic
Or you can use this site to search for topics
https://talksearch.io/?utm-link=bitcointalk

Easy is a string word. The level of technology that can do such doesn't exist now or in five years.
The first thing that would be at risk to Bitcoin via quantum computing is addresses with known Pubkeys.

Question like this keep repeating itself majorly form newbies because they are not giving attention to what have been discussed before now about bitcoin network and quantum, assuming some of them also make use of the forum search engine, they would have seen the way a number of related topics have already been discussed, just as Charles-Tim has highlighted on some relevant links about the same subject matter.

Since the OP seems to ignore the DOZENS of existing threads on this very subject and decided to create yet another one - ignore button now active.

Thank you for your advice, looking at this site , it really helps me in finding discussion topics that may have already been discussed, so I won't ask or make new reviews.
