I've watched https://bitcoinity.org since before $41.30 ATH (oldest image I can find, LoL).
Its been down from time to time.
At one point I emailed him offering him 0.1BTC ($1k at the time) to add binance but never heard back.
I know comboy was running it at one point (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=197985.0).

Is it gone for good?
I've got a screenshot from almost every day going back years (5-10 ??).  Would be a pity if it died.

Bitcoincity website is currently showing maintenance break, and I didn't find any information they are planing to shut down service or anything like that.
There is a good chance they got ddos attacked, but you can always try contacting them to their email address if you want admin@bitcoinity.org
I checked their history on wayback machine and they didn't have any big breaks so far.

Its the longest they've been down in years.  I think my refresh Monday morning brought up the maintenance page first this time.  It wasn't a maintenance message but an error message, I want to say late Tuesday it changed to the maintenance message.

The last time I recall it being down this long I think he had to rebuild the database  (pre 2020).  
I have tried emailing historically but never received a reply.  Also per user info it doesn't look like comboy has been on here since 2017.

There have been a few components that have broken over the last few years and never been fixed.  I think Gemini broke late last year and has remained that way.  Many of the other data statistics the site once did have not shown data for years.  Maybe I'm just old (in bitcoin years) but it would be nice to see bitcoinity last.
Like I said I did offer him a decent bounty a while ago.

I do hope that it is not shut down. Bitcoinity has been my go-to for checking prices even since I started in BTC so very long ago.

I checked on Bitcoinity.org and they’ve got an active registry, updated on 27th of March, 2027. Though the site still shows that it’s on a maintenance break, I really didn’t know what was up about them though but, you OP javing to offer them 0.1BTC to list binance on their site, they must have been some real sh*t back in the day. It doesn’t really matter now should it all go down, there are several other sources for get Bitcoin or cryptocurrency related data today.

I think they will be back soon. The maintenance break message is probably just a temporary one, otherwise I don't see any reason if they really decided to go down for good. It's not like they are running away with anyone's money.  :D

I checked Wayback Machine and as per the last archive on 14th Aug 2025 (https://web.archive.org/web/20250814054704/https://bitcoinity.org/), the website was online.

Wow!, seems they're updating from the future... They're so much ahead of time if that's the case. Maybe you'll want to recheck the date again ;)

Hopefully they'd be back, if they do send email updates to their users and they mentioned it, then it's normal, else there's a bigger issue

I think that's a good sign as that's a movement from them. They could be working on a fix already, but I see these websites as a side project from devs so it may not be that much of a priority for them—let's give it some time. I do wonder what "shit could have been worse" mean in this context, provided it is related. Makes you think what went wrong exactly. 😅

Well, let's hope we hear from them soon, and it'll be a good news.

Looks like it is still being worked on but is back up.  Don't want to lose this one too!

How are they going to send out email updates to the users? You do realize it's a service that does not require one to sign up using their email address, right?

I have never heard of this site before (I'm very new here compared to some of you guys :)). I should probably go check it out.
