OK, I see some illogicalities here, so if possible, an explanation.

Do you reserve the right to ask for KYC from your users at some point or not?
There is a very brief explanation in your ToS, but it doesn't seem like it's about no-KYC under any conditions. So, what exactly is here? Yes or No to KYC?

I am impressed by the number of new swap services showing up after exch was seized.

Looks like there are many small services trying to fill the gap they left .. unfortunately,  it takes time to build the trust we had in their service, which was truly kyc free

1) Thank you for noticing the date issue. We really didn't pay attention. The programmers were just coding from the templates. We were more focused on the exchange process itself, and all our attention was directed there. The date issue is now resolved. We've been working with the exchange since 2024, but we didn't have our own website before.
2) Regarding the KYC, there's no KYC on the website. We're not some kind of agency that verifies user data. However, the website does have an AML check to prevent money laundering. In that case, the user will simply be refunded without any deductions.

Considering that I couldn't find any traces of Changeum's existence prior to the creation of this thread, it makes me believe the following stats aren't accurate as well:

I suggest you critical look at the information on your website and revise it where necessary. I don't think it can take you more than 3 hours to do that, however any wrong or irregular information on your website can ruin your reputation for a long time.

It just becomes super hard to trust a service when you know at the back of your mind that some of the information they said about themselves is false.

I have to admit that things are a bit confusing around the Changeum exchange. Although they promised to correct some illogicalities on the site, they did not do so. They haven't even been active here since then.
In the meantime, they launched a review campaign, which is ongoing, but again the official account is inactive and there is no feedback from the team.

I have used this exchange a few times, although not frequently, and I must admit that it is functional. What I would single out is the more than competitive exchange rate for most of the pairs I tested.
If they really want to build a good reputation, they should be more active, otherwise, they seem unreliable to me.

You are welcome to the forum with a campaign. We hope you will stay long with the campaign. I just checked the exchange and everything is good to go. You almost have the Cryptocurrencies which is nice to have you. But I don't know the transaction fee yet since I have not carried out a transaction. In most time people are discouraged to use this services because of the transaction fee but if the fee is minimal lime $1 or below, people will take it as a daily transaction exchange but I don't know if the fee can be low as that.
The last time I checked an exchange like this, it was charging up to $10+ as transaction fee which is higher for many. All what I am saying here is a suggestion for low fee for the ordinary and average cryptocurrency users. Thanks for understanding.

I am thinking of joining the campaign, but I want you to confirm that KYC data will not be requested under any circumstances. In the worst case, the user will receive a refund without asking for any documents. Can you confirm that?

Hello, we currently don't have KYC checks and we guarantee refunds for now. However, I can't speak for the future; if any changes occur, all users will be notified in advance. Currently, we only have AML verification for all transactions. Liquidity is replenished with our own funds.

Does this mean that every incoming transaction is checked by AML, and in the case of too many risky coins, you must return the coin to the sender?

Interesting situation (how did I miss it?), it happens with platforms that have a limited reserve of coins. I will test Changeum.io to see the source of the coins and whether they use income inputs directly in other transactions or not.

AML checks are indeed here to stay. Although this situation involves only altcoins, I see lots of people talking about bitcoin fungibility when sending coins to exchanges. But I never see such situation when the user receives coins from exchanges... Fungibility means nothing in this situation...

I guess all this idea of fungibility really doesn't apply to stolen funds, specially when we are dealing with altcoins. Actually, fungibility is already questionable even for bitcoin. AML checks are here to stay.

I encourage you to test Changeum.io, because it works pretty well. I have done several swaps here and I have quite positive impressions. Also, when I tested it, at that moment, they offered the most favorable exchange rate compared to all other similar services, especially the current ones that somehow promise no KYC.
Honestly, I didn't look into the source of received coins in more detail, but the AML score was acceptable for another CEX where I later sent the same coins.

Judging by the fact that the swap process was done quite quickly, right after confirmation, and everything seemed quite automated, I am not sure if any AML checks coins that I sent were done.

Indeed, virtually every transaction involving major coins undergoes AML verification. If the threshold is exceeded, the transaction will be stopped and the funds will be returned to the user from a disposable payment address. This system will ensure that we don't accept tainted funds or participate in their laundering, while also avoiding unnecessary stress for users. Of course, in the future, we may implement KYC verification at the request of various regulators.

Have came across similar site, I mean exchange that preached same way but when funds that was confirmed to came through illegal way (from mixer), it was frozen and asked for additional verification and even as that such person where frustrated and wasn't able to have access to his funds anymore. I hope changeum.io stands on their words as everything spoken or written here are taken into note by the community.

I might be wrong but this isn't how it works to my mind. Programmers were just coding from the template? I, as a customer, take it like you don't seriously take care of it even though you say that exchange is your priority. Copy/Paste templates and text means low effort for me and it already makes me question whether the service is trustworthy and really works well or not (maybe a website made in a hurry to earn a few bucks).

Are you licensed? If you are, then how do you manage to offer no-kyc service? And if you aren't, then look at past competitors, they are all gone. It's very risky to run an instant exchange without KYC because someone might launder money and authorities will knock on your door.

This requires a separate address for each transaction, without any relation to your wallet. Otherwise, your complete service will be marked as money laundering-friendly.


Most often, however, KYC services, if they have a license, are from offshore zones, and it is difficult to determine the true ownership. Given the high likelihood of the regulator targeting such services, it seems like the only option.

This is an interesting subject. Do they need separate address for each transactions or the money that they'll return should be the same UTXO that they received? I mean, if X wallet (that receives many transactions) received money from Y wallet, and X returns back the UTXO that it received from Y, is that still labeled as money laundering?

If they have a license in offshores and regulators are targeting such services, then most likely they don't care whether they are licensed or have an offshore license, they'll take it as having no license, right? So, logically, it's not an option. eXch also had an offshore license but they got caught.
