Title: How is it possible to buy and receive a product from here without Tax ID? Post by: bogdanb on October 08, 2025, 04:41:02 PM Recently I liked a (DIY 1000 TRX) note and expressed interest in buying it. When I contacted the product manager, he said that the product is available and can buy it. I talked about everything including shipping costs and was completely ready to buy.
But just before payment, when I shared the address, he said that their company cannot ship the product without a Tax ID. As a result I could not place the order anymore. In this situation: i want to know how is it possible to buy and receive the product from here without a Tax ID? Is there any alternative way? Do you mean you were trying to make a purchase for your business? Is that what they wanted? It makes absolutely no sense to ask a private buyer for a tax ID. Sounds like an unprofessional time-waster to me. Maybe you would be better off looking for an alternative source to buy from. In fact, it seems ridiculous that they did not mention anything about a tax ID beforehand... ::) Title: Re: How is it possible to buy and receive a product from here without Tax ID? Post by: MoparMiningLLC on October 08, 2025, 04:47:19 PM Hello,
that was an item from me, when I went to ship it, the shipping system simply will not let me proceed without the Tax ID or the CPF. When I reach out and request clarification, I am provided the following: Yes, shipping from the US to Brazil requires the recipient's Tax ID number (CPF for individuals, CNPJ for businesses) for all packages, a requirement in effect since January 1, 2020. Failure to include this information on customs forms will result in the package being returned or disposed of by Brazilian Customs. Imports into Brazil must be associated with a CPF or CNPJ, which serves as a business identifier. In some cases, packages can be shipped without a CPF associated with the delivery, but Brazilian residents must associate their CPF or CNPJ through the Correios website, which handles these international shipments in Brazil. Without this, as you rightly mentioned, the package will be discarded or held for resale by the Federal Revenue Service. The process is roughly like this. If you need any help with addressing here in Brazil, I can help! Title: Re: How is it possible to buy and receive a product from here without a Tax ID? It makes absolutely no sense to ask a private buyer for a tax ID. I was surprised at first, just like you were surprised to hear about the tax ID. I wanted to buy it personally and I also said that I don't have a business so I don't have a tax ID.Sounds like an unprofessional time-waster to me. Maybe you would be better off looking for an alternative source to buy from. In fact, it seems ridiculous that they did not mention anything about a tax ID beforehand... ::) Finally they told me that they can't send it without a tax ID. That's why I couldn't buy the product anymore. Yes, you're right, if I can't buy it from here, I'll have to look for alternatives. I also clarified that the Tax ID is called the CPF and all Brazilian citizens should have one. It's supposed to be issued to all Brazilian citizens, and residents - even if they're expats. You need a CPF to pay your taxes - but you also need one for lots of basic transactions - which might come as a shock if you're unfamiliar with the system.
