i'm mining with bitminter client with my GPU that is an "ATI Radeon Caicos PRO Prototype" with a speed of 20Mhps.. how long does it take to make 1 bitcoin mining this way ??? does it worth it? or how to easily get bitcoins fast for free??? i don't wanna buy bitcoins...  :-X

At current difficulty, if you mine in a pool, you will probably mine about 0.00001406 BTC per week.  That means, if difficulty doesn't increase at all, it will take about 71123 weeks (about 1367 years) to mine 1 BTC.  Of course difficulty will almost certainly increase during that time.  As such, it is quite possible that it will take more than 6000 years to mine 1 BTC.


In case you hadn't figured it out yet, bitcoins are money.  As such, what you are saying is:

"How to easily get money fast for free??? I don't wanna earn money... :-X"

There is no magic here.  You give something of value (product, time, service, etc) and in exchange you get something of value (bitcoins).  That's the way the world works.

Since Danny answered the first part of your question I will answer the second part:  steal them?

but i was thinking about mining bitcoins and then exchange it with dollars or ££££. maybe i should sell stuffs and set as payment method "Bitcoins" only. it seems to be the only way to have bitcoins for free.

Why do you think Bitcoins are free or should be free or that you should be able to get them for free?  What on Earth every gave you this idea?


This is not getting Bitcoins for free.  It is a trade of something of value for Bitcoins.  Not free.  Maybe you don't know what "free" means or maybe I don't understand what you mean by "free".

Forget mining you cannot make ROI mining using your card. You better sell it and purchase bitcoin directly. Right now bitcoin price is very low.

No, the electricity cost is higher than your bitcoin revenue.
No, there is no way to get bitcoin for free.

You can sell your goods or provide services for bitcoin, but it is not really free.
Even for doing faucets, you are still spending time on the sites, and giving site owner hits for the ads. :)

Try a signature deal maybe?

At this rate, the bots are eventually going to get so smart that they'll be worth keeping around because they'll be giving good advice and offering correct answers to complex questions.

Or you just buy it cheap when its low. I know its against you wanting to spend money, but its a huge potential profit of earning $40 + profit because you did that instead of waiting long time for 1 btc.

I wouldn't recommend mining now as the market is very unstable and the btc value can change instantaneously. I would recommend buying a better graphics card and mining after 3-4 months when the market settles down so the difficulty will decrease and the value will increase

You cannot use a graphics card to mine Bitcoins now, let alone in 3-4 months.

Try an ASIC for BTC or put your card to work mining scrypt(n,jane, adaptive-n),x11,sha-3,or blake256 coins. Personally I see potential in x11. 

OP gets only 20 MH/s on sha256. With such a low-end GPU, I think he should simply forget about mining.

That can depend on many factors of difficulty and blah other factors.  Do some research

The time to mine BTC was back 3 years ago - so if you find a way to go back in time call me. Jokes aside, mining is best left to those crazy people who have the capital to try such a thing - at the moment it'll just net you a loss (break even if you have cheap electricity) and definitely not using GPUs. You want to use GPUs, go look into setting up a script farm with actual GPUs, not old crap from 10 years ago.

Yes, there is no reason to use 20mh/s to mine BTC, you can try scrypt, but even then you will most probably burn more money in electricity then earning.

Depends on your hashing power. But most people pool mine. Also a lot of luck.

You should not mine bitcoin with your GPU.
Check a profit calculator (for example: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator) and you will get the reason. :)

For solo mining with a single GTX 680, which will produce 120 Mhashes/s, you would expect to find one block approximately every 98 years.

At the current difficulty, solo mining is inadvisable under practically all circumstances. Pooled mining should be done instead.

Furthermore, mining utilizing graphics cards is rapidly losing viability with the release of FPGA and ASIC-based mining hardware, which operates at far greater efficiency. Unless you have exceptionally cheap electricity or have a use for the heat output from the graphics card(s) (e.g. heating your house for winter), graphics card mining is unlikely to be profitable for you.

Additionally, mining with NVIDIA graphics cards has pretty much never been worthwhile, as they are far slower and less efficient than comparable ATI/AMD hardware, conflating the above issues with graphics card mining.
