Title: Beware of Mt. Gox Phishing Email
Post by: mc_lovin on December 25, 2011, 04:15:05 PM
Hey guys just a heads up I just got an email (in my spam box) from a scammer trying to steal info from Mt. Gox users.  It sucks that whoever sent the email has... my email address... The URL looks like it says HTTPS but when you mouseover it, it's actually HTTP to some mtgix.tk server, total tricky basturds!

Be careful out there bitcoiners!

Thanks for the heads up, just like Paypal the scammers are hoping a couple of people bite which seems like they always do. You always have to be extra careful with any financial emails since they will try anything and all it takes is one to make it worth their effort.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the notification.  Please have a look at other phishing emails that have been sent out claiming to be from us in the past at our Phishing Forum on the Support website at https://support.mtgox.com/forums/20232703-phishing-forum.
We have already sent an email to the Abuse Department of the hosting service for the phishing sites and hopefully they will be taken down soon.
