Title: How to check if website has a crypto drainer Post by: ovcijisir on November 07, 2025, 10:59:16 AM I recently came across one website which is filled with red flags. I highly suspect that it has crypto drainer, but before making accusations I'd like to check it to be 100% sure.
Of course I do not want to connect my wallet and risk losing my funds. I was wondering if there is some online service like malware scanner that could be of help so I can prove my suspicions? You can never know what's coded behind a wallet drainer website unless you have the knowledge and understand how smart contract works. If you know smart contracts you will be interacting, you can check what other wallet address has done with it in the past days, you maybe able to know if it's save or not. You need detail understanding of programming. The best you can do as a front-end risker, don't use your main wallet to interact with any Defi, create a burner wallet, fund it with little funds and do some testing and check if it's safe. It's better you use a new wallet address to interact with a smart contracts you're not familiar just to be safe. Just so you know, connecting a wallet address alone to a website doesn' drain. How old is the site domain?
You may not easily know if a site has malicious intentions but it is very possible that you can see some red flags. It would be better if you post the site link on this thread for us to let you know if it can be trustworthy or not. About wallet drainers, all fake sites are. You can even easily send the coin yourself to the scammer after you connect your wallet. If you don't trust the platform enough with just $5, don't use it, even if it is a reputable website.Of course I do not want to connect my wallet and risk losing my funds. To check if a particular website has a crypto wallet drainer, there are many things you need to do, but you need some tech knowledge to know if the website has a wallet drainer. One of the things you need to do is to check the website's source code using the right click of your mouse and click on the view page source as you see below. Another one is checking the website age because most fraudulent sites are always new, but if it's an aged website, search online what people are saying about the website using the "website url + scam" on Google. There are many ways, but that's the only way i know Title: Re: How to check if website has a crypto drainer Post by: bitmover on November 07, 2025, 01:25:08 PM I recently came across one website which is filled with red flags. There are so much scam and phishing websites out there... Just ignore and stay away from it. I'm almost completely sure that this website is scam because it is very similar to other scams I have encountered. Where did you found out about the site? How old is the site domain? This is the site I'm talking about, I'll use code field to make it unclickable: Code: https://mig-nodtraf.com/ It seems like they promote services like "claim airdrop" and "buy tokens" which is first thing that made me suspicious. I snooped around and it seems like copy of legit service www.nodes.ai so now I am definitely sure it is a scam. By using Whois service I was surprised to discover it was registered today, so definitely another big red flag. https://uk.godaddy.com/whois/results.aspx?itc=dlp_domain_whois&domain=https%3A%2F%2Fmig-nodtraf.com%2F Title: Re: How to check if website has a crypto drainer Post by: Hatchy on November 07, 2025, 02:04:58 PM Of course I do not want to connect my wallet and risk losing my funds. Sin e you already have reason not to trust the site then you should start away from it. Avoid connecting your funded wallet to any site for what so ever reason, many people have lost their funds to crypto drainers and you don't want to fall victim.Title: Re: How to check if website has a crypto drainer Post by: Charles-Tim on November 07, 2025, 02:05:54 PM This is the site I'm talking about, I'll use code field to make it unclickable: Yes, the site is a scam.Code: https://mig-nodtraf.com/ It seems like they promote services like "claim airdrop" and "buy tokens" which is first thing that made me suspicious. As today is 7th, the domain is just a month old and that make it not still trustworthy unless you know really much about the site and know what you are doing but with how the site is and how their URL looks, it is possibly another scam site. If the site is relatively new, the most rational approach, proven 100%, is to be willing to fall victim.
Regardless of whether it's a drainer wallet or not, it's best to prevent bigger risk by connecting each new service to a new, minimally funded wallet. If it turns out to be a wallet drainer, you'll only lose a small amount. Be wary of contracts that allow scheduled drains, which also need to be time-tested. If you don't test, you may never found out the vulnerability of the website, just like I said you can do analysis if you have the knowledge or with $2 ETH on base chain, you should be able to make simple transaction, there are some wallet drainers that will sweep wallet that has as low as $0.5 ETH if the chain is on base. Though, I'm not asking you to risk around any websites if it's not worth what you want to see. Not only Metamask, Rabby wallet has this feature, before you make any connection with any website, it tells you about the site popularity if it's has been listed on Defi lama and other Defi website tracker, this alone tells you the website is legit or fake. Another is Rabby wallet analyse the website based on activity, if there has been bad reviews about the website. It also warn you about the connection if it's a legit website. If the website support Solana chain, phantom wallet gives you warning too. It may even stop the page from loading if you have the extension on your PC or use the browser on the phone version. As mentioned, you can use other vectors to accuse them. People have already mentioned the age of the website, registrar info, the design, malicious ads placements, offering something too good to be true, and so on. I think it's fine to say that you suspect this or that website is suspicious from one of those things. You don't have to risk your funds to do that, unless of course you have unlimited or big enough capital to bother with it. Even knowing their used address might help too.I wanted to make sure the website is scam before I make any accusations, but all the red flags speak for themselves so I'm 99.99% sure it is scam website now. I used a watch-only Rabby wallet to simulate claiming their airdrop and it is definitely a scam. Before approving the smart contract request, Rabby showed a warning that it was a high risk contract. https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/08/U6799T.png I tried rejecting the request but it repeatedly kept sending the request over and over until I had Rabby block any further attempts. When I finally got out of that request loop, it opened a new popup asking me to enter my seed phrase. https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/08/U677so.png |
