Title: Restaurant that still accept Bitcoin.
Post by: SuperBitMan on November 13, 2025, 01:31:45 PM
I know everyone here still knows the story of a man who used 10,000 Bitcoin to purchase pizza his name is Laszlo Hanyecz and the pizza was bought in Papa John’s store but the thing is Laszlo didn’t buy them directly by himself, what happened is that a user on the forum named Jeremy accepted Laszlo’s offer and then ordered the pizzas from Papa John’s using his own credit card Laszlo then sent Jeremy 10,000 BTC as payment.
A lot of us here may want to do similar thing buy using Bitcoin to purchasing a particular food too, you really don't need someone to help if you know restaurants that accept Bitcoin.

This are some places you can purchase foods with Bitcoin.

1. Bhukkad Café in Dubai.

The story of Laszlo buying that pizza has become legendary and the funny thing is that he didn't even buy the pizza himself, but Jeremy ordered it with his card and Laszlo sent him 10,000 bitcoins. It seems incredible now, but back then bitcoin was almost worthless. Today of course there's no need to order it through someone, because many restaurants accept bitcoin directly. In places like Dubai, America, and South Africa, there are several cafes and pizza shops that accept crypto payments.

I found some more restaurants, and I've listed some of them below.

1. PubKey New York City

https://talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPS7Xa.png (https://cryptoslate.com/trump-involved-in-bitcoin-transaction-in-new-yorks-pubkey-bar/)

  • This bar & restaurant in Greenwich Village markets itself as a “bitcoin‐friendly bar”.
  • Multiple reports mention they accept Bitcoin (and other crypto) for payment at the bar.
  • Tip: Make sure to ask at checkout “I’d like to pay with Bitcoin” and verify which wallet/payment method they accept.
  • Vibe: Very crypto themed, casual dive bar atmosphere + event space, good if you want something fun and off beat.

2. Chipotle Mexican Grill (United States)
https://talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPSBcT.png (https://www.flickr.com/photos/z0/5115793497/sizes/l)

  • Chipotle partnered with payments provider Flexa to accept crypto payments (including Bitcoin) at U.S. locations.
  • Tip: Because it uses a third-party app for crypto checkout, make sure your wallet/app is supported before visiting.

3. The Catch (Berlin),  Berlin, Germany

  • Why it qualifies: According to a “crypto spending in Germany” guide, The Catch in Berlin (Charlottenburg) accepts Bitcoin and other digital currencies via a crypto payment terminal.
  • Bonus: If you’re in Berlin and want a smaller venue with crypto payment support, this might be a good option.

I love to see some of them in my country Nigeria, unfortunately,  those that will accept will not make it public because of our government action against Binance, all other exchange IP addresses that are banned in my country and their crackdown on known cryptocurrency users. Despite these challenges, Bitcoin is still spreading like wildfire so there should be many shops accepting in low key.

 Restaurants That Accept Cryptocurrency

1. Bitcoin Coffee - Buy Coffee With Bitcoin.
If you're looking to spend Bitcoin and love coffee, then Bitcoin coffee ( US based online roaster) let's you do exactly that. They accept Bitcoin directly for coffee bean orders, shipping to many countries. Their slogan " Coffee on chain".

https://talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPS0zH.jpeg

What You Can Do.
. Visit their website, place an order for coffee beans ( shipped from the US) and pay with Bitcoin directly. Their site says: Buying coffee with Bitcoin means that we can cut out the middle man... We roast the beans... We're a community of coffee lovers and Bitcoiners.

What to check/ Limitations.
. This is an online retailer, not a physical cafe where you walk in and pay BTC for a cappuccino.
. You'll likely pay shipping or handing fees outside of just the beans
. Always check current BTC payment term on their website because policies may change.

https://bitcoincoffee.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com

2. Pizza Hut Venezuela - pay with Bitcoin for pizza

The global pizza chain Pizza Hut has done something pretty cool in Venezuela: they partnered with a crypto-payments company so that many of their locations now accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for food and drink.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPZZzj.jpeg

What you can do in Pizza Hut Venezuela.
. At Pizza Hut restaurants in Venezuela ( some cities like Caracas, Maracaibo, Barquisimeto and Maracay) you can order pizza, drinks, sides and pay using Bitcoin or other crypto.

What to check/Limitations.
. While many locations in Venezuela are listed as accepting crypto, you'll still need to confirm the branch you're visiting, be it city or mall because local operations may vary.

. crypto acceptance may depend on the merchant's infrastructure and local conditions ( Internet, POS system).

https://www.coindesk.com/business/2020/11/30/pizza-hut-venezuela-now-accepts-crypto-payments

3. Safari Comedor, Tulum, Mexico — Jungle Flavours & Bitcoin Payments

Located in the Aldea Zama neighborhood of Tulum, Safari Comedor serves up a mix of creative Mexican cuisine in a stylish jungle‑setting, and it is listed as a venue that accepts cryptocurrency payments — making it a strong pick for your “restaurants that still accept Bitcoin” project.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPZ0iw.jpeg

 What you can do
. Safari Comedor is listed on a crypto‑merchant directory as accepting cryptocurrency payments (including Bitcoin) in Tulum, Mexico.
.You can visit the restaurant at: Calle Itzamna Manzana 26‑LOTE 13, Aldea Zama, Tulum 77760 Mexico.
. They mention “crypto accepted here” on the listing — which means you likely can use BTC or other major crypto coins (check with the venue which ones exactly) before you go.

What to check / limitations
. Payment method may specify which cryptocurrencies are accepted (Bitcoin, possibly others). It’s best to call ahead:
. Because it’s in Mexico’s tourist‑area, the exchange rate and currency conversion may apply: your BTC may be converted to Mexican pesos by the venue or payment processor.

https://bitcoinwide.com/safari-comedor-zama-b19a60ed-4d66-4288-a7a2-16f54888c2c5

4. Burger King — Bitcoin Payment Status

Burger King is one of the global fast‑food chains that does have locations where you can pay with Bitcoin — though it depends heavily on country and branch.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPnujl.jpeg

 What You Can Do
. Burger King in Venezuela began accepting Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) through a partnership with Cryptobuyer in early 2020. One of the first branches.
. More recently, reports say that Burger King in Paris, the Netherlands, Germany and Venezuela are accepting Bitcoin or a broad range of crypto payments as of 2025.
. This means in certain locations you may walk in, order your Whopper and pay with Bitcoin — depending on the country and store setup.

 What to Check / Limitations
. The acceptance is not universal globally. Many Burger King locations do not list Bitcoin as a payment method.
. If you want to pay with Bitcoin, always call ahead:
.The success of payment depends on store‑level infrastructure, local regulation and whether the location is included in the crypto program.

The were probably not interested in the first place, before the binance and Nigeria government had their issues no restaurant I know of in Nigeria showed any interest in adding Bitcoin to their payment system. And now I think the heat about the binance problem has dropped but I don't think any restaurant has already shown that they want Bitcoin in their payment system.
For now I don't think the government is only to blame, we need to have more franchises in Nigeria show more interest in Bitcoin.

I have done research about those restaurants in Nigeria that accept Bitcoin as a means of payment but I have not seen anyone but I believe they do accept secretly, however there are some online store that delivers food when you order it and they accept Bitcoin.
Kwikpik Food, Grocery & Bills they deliver food when you order from them, and they operate across Nigeria, when you want to order food from them you need to download there Kwikpik app and then order from there.
https://apps.apple.com/ng/app/kwikpik-food-grocery-bills/id6447007329
They have a built in non custodial crypto wallet where you can hold, send, receive and swap major coins including Bitcoin.
But we have school and church that publicly accept Bitcoin here in Nigeria.

Add to the list if you know anyone.

Nice points, Bitcoin is gradually making it way into daily transactions again, just like in the story of Laszlo. Making use of it for food or any small purchase would give it real utility more than just holding it as an investment.
To add to the list you made, others include:

1. Subway
2. Some selected outlets of Burger King Venezuela and Germany
3. The hotel called Old Fitzroy in Sydney, Australia
4. Room 77in Berlin this is said to be one of the first restaurants to ever accept Bitcoin.

Though it isn't common all over the place, yet adoption continues to grow, mostly through payment processors such as BitPay and OpenNode making it easier for restaurants to take crypto.

I bet no one would want to repeat the same of Laszlo using such huge amount of bitcoin for the specific value of pizza now. It was also affordable for Laszlo to do that transaction because, then bitcoin has not gained real world trading value and was evaluated below half cent $ which made a historical transaction with bitcoin.
It is either no more news that bitcoin can be used to pay for goods and services by these days as it has majorly been adopted and had not only been sighted as alternative means to make payments but both also asset values and resources.

So it will be irrelevant referencing Laszlo's to the above resorts that accepts bitcoins for payments. Maybe it would just do better if suggesting them as resorts that accepts bitcoins just for those who prefers to pay for their foods with bitcoin since bitcoin has not been generally accepted for payments services yet.
That of Laszlo with the excessive spending will be no more as bitcoin has become a global treasure.

There is no such facility in my country, especially restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream shops, etc. It is not possible to get any such facility here that will allow them to start their businesses as Bitcoin payments. Since our Bitcoin is considered a government-prohibited currency, if any organization wants to do business with this prohibited currency, it will face various legal troubles. If Bitcoin were viewed positively in our country like other countries, then perhaps Bitcoin would be accepted as payment in various coffee shops, ice cream shops, restaurants, hotels, and residential areas.

Speaking of, it would be nice if yelp.com could expand their ACCEPT CRYPTOCURRENCY filter into at least major cryptocurrencies like bitcoin for instance.

https://www.talkimg.com/images/2025/11/13/UPCx0o.png

I found multiple restaurants in the US that has the accept cryptocurrency tag. Though we would have to ring/write to them first to know exactly which crypto they accept. I do believe there are at least some that accepts bitcoin.  :D

Perhaps, if someone is interested, they could look into yelp and this particular filter.

I was expecting to see some level of crowd around the facility since is a rear occasions to see restaurants that accepts cryptocurrency payments.

I havent seen any of such shops that openly accept cryptocurrency for payments here in my country

In the USA, and possibly in other countries, you can pay with bitcoin at any restaurant that accepts Doordash or Uber Eats. Just buy gift cards with bitcoin on a site like bitrefill.com, then spend them at the restaurant of your choice.

So interesting that from this thread, we can have a number of countries and restaurants that accepts bitcoin as payment currency, i also wish the thread to remain for long, so that it could be often updated as time goes, bitcoin is gaining more ground already and taking over the financial system, yet some are not seeing this, until then, when we are left with no other choice than to use it and depend on it, which some could have been able to identify on how they have missed on several opportunities in it.

There's similar thread like this created by @d5000 here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5548042.0

Although yours is restaurants, but you can see in his thread that every places that accept BTC has been discussed in his thread.

Maybe people can also see some interesting places which accepts BTC as payment especially if they try to see those merchants and places posted in his thread. Great to see that lots of merchant accepting Bitcoin and provably there would be more as adoption rate continuous to grow.

I agree, and even if it's there, as you said - we would need to double check the info, I would do that anyways because the info on the net is usually outdated or there are updates or details to it (which coins are accepted or not, and so on).

One thing I love about this forum is that we get to learn everyday. All through my days since I got to know about the man who bought pizzas with 10,000BTC, I have always thought that he walked into the restaurant and offered to give them 10,000BTC for pizza, now I know better how everything played out.

I don't know if there are restaurants in my country that accept bitcoin payments. If there is any, then it should be that the owner of the restaurant is a bitcoin enthusiast that accepts p2p payments from those who request for it. Aside this, bitcoin payments are not official in my country.

Rather than relying on information from newspapers like Cointelegraph, people can use helpful websites for where to spend bitcoins proactively.

This site has links to many sites for screening where to spend bitcoins.

As long as cryptocurrency is not banned in these countries where the restaurants are located, the government cannot stop people from eating from them. My guess is the snapshots were probably taken early in the morning when they're opening up for the day. Starbucks had few persons. Though, I can't really tell if they're employees or customers.

The view is great, and it's great because in some countries, as shown in the picture, you can spend Bitcoin like currency without any restrictions.
I don't know what image to attach that shows Bitcoin being accepted in transactions because I have never spent Bitcoin directly in restaurants or other places since we cannot do so due to the applicable regulations.
I don't need to search the internet to find an image and display it here.

Nice list and I have also read about the story of the man who bought pizza with 10,000 bitcoin but I never hear or read a part that mentioned a third party in the transaction who made the transaction successful but I am really glad to also be on a same forum with the very person who made the transaction a success and I wish he can identify himself over here.

I have been in a church that publicly accept payments in cryptocurrency and maybe if I’m chanced within the week, I will try to go take some pictures and post them here and at some point, I almost thought it was fully legal in the country.
I would love to see restaurants that accept crypto payments and yes I agree that, exert you personally as them, you might not know that they accept and don’t want to make it obvious.

When I read this incident, I was a little confused because he paid 10,000 bitcoin for a pizza. Even then he could not buy the pizza directly because he was not in that situation at that time. But nowadays, the popularity of bitcoin has increased and Bitcoin is coming to a very good position. There are various types of restaurants in many countries of the world where pizza and many other food items can be purchased through Bitcoin payment.
The restaurants or food shops that are selling these with bitcoin payment definitely deserve praise because they are transacting through crypto payment in line with the modern world. If I am near such a shop or ever have the opportunity, I will also buy something by paying with bitcoin.

As of now here in my country Philippines I did not experience yet a restaurant acepting with the use of the Bitcoin as their mode of payment but on the other hand I just experience with the use of the crypto.com visa card as a form of payment with the different establishment and food stalls as long as the card is visa or mastercard still this treated as a debit card, now with that card I used a CAD as the stable coin to use and of course it has a fees if you want to withdraw into your local ATM more likey has a charge of approx 2$. But in swipe it will act as debit.

Consider that he used them directly even its certain the purpose was to prove that it was possible to buy real-world items using Bitcoin, which is why we saw him requesting pizza on the Bitcoin forum. Nowadays, Bitcoin is becoming increasingly scarce and the price is reaching its peak so there are various restaurants where you can pay with Bitcoin if you want to buy pizza or other food using the Lightning Network and other means. By now, many restaurants may be accepting Bitcoin for coffee, pizza, and more will be doing so But it must be said that America's Steak 'n Shake is not only a payment, Rather, it has created a treasury for Bitcoin. Also expanding their scope of business involving Bitcoin as on November 13th they opened a pop-up store in the first BTC Treasury accepting country, if someone purchases traditional food from there, Bitcoin will be deducted as a charge.

It's a natural development for BTC to step up even further and become the real alternative, not only in the world of Finance, but on a broader scale of just buying a pizza or food - too.

Don Biondini restaurant, located in Lagoa Santa (MG), has made history as one of the first establishments in the state to accept Bitcoin payments.

Other restaurants in the city already accept BTC payments, such as Na Brasa Grill (Av. Getúlio Vargas, 100), the traditional Toca do Surubim (https://www.instagram.com/tocadosurubimoficial/?hl=pt-br) (Av. Das Árvores, 496), which operates on Sundays on the same avenue.

Everywhere seems empty is there no users around because i can barely see anyone around the restaurants,  is it that government regulations is making bitcoin users to avoid those shops that accepts bitcoin or othwr crypto coins for payment.

I was expecting to see some level of crowd around the facility since is a rear occasions to see restaurants that accepts cryptocurrency payments.
As long as cryptocurrency is not banned in these countries where the restaurants are located, the government cannot stop people from eating from them. My guess is the snapshots were probably taken early in the morning when they're opening up for the day. Starbucks had few persons. Though, I can't really tell if they're employees or customers.
Many of these restaurants that have started accepting BTC for payments often make use of third party payment processor like Bitpay or something like CoinGate
They could also accept payments made with debit or credit cards by these third party processor service and that converts ones BTC to USD automatically.

Bitcoin adoption and usability rate is fast growing, and I'm impressed to see restaurants, cafe and coffee shops accept Bitcoin as a payment bitcoin.Satoshi Nakomoto would indeed be proud of he's invention wherever he is.Laszlo Hanyecz has made a pronounced name in the crypto industry for purchasing pizza for 10,000 BTC,I don't think any present bitcoiner would make such financial mistake, anyways I wouldn't blame him for he's action because back then Bitcoin was almost worthless.A lot of business owners would actually love to accept Bitcoin as a payment option but the restriction from the government concerning cryptocurrency wouldn't permit them to do such.
