Losing money is one thin but losing it because someone else manipulated the result behind the scenes is a completely different level of frustration. It also destroys trust in the entire betting ecosystem if even the weaker team can win purely because the match was fixed how is anyone supposed to feel confident in future bets?

There is no two ways to that, and funny enough some gamblers keep bearing the pain of seeing their games getting fixed and results diverted to others, but still yet they keep gambling consistently but all of that will definitely change in the near future when the fight against fraud innthe footballing body.

Match fixing is most evident in the local leagues much more than the international leagues, most of the games and competitions in my region are all manipulated, the results are always inconsistent with the reality of the games.

If match-fixing becomes very popular, it will not only affect bettors' way of thinking and cause them more loss, but it will eventually kill sports betting. Nobody will want to spend time analysing a game in which the result has already been decided by a few people who will be the higher beneficiaries of whateverthey want the game result to look like.

I'll agree with you because the fixed matches is only possible to happen when there's a bargain with the officials and the players which all boils to the league making huge illegal amount of income and have to sell their positions in the match. But the question is if the players who're already rich and contented according to their payouts in the big teams agree to the deal? It's either yes/no because it's likely to bring shame among them when they've to loose against obvious smaller teams after accepting bribes.



Yes the events of fixed matches is usually happening in unpopular leagues wher players may be earning insufficiently and can afford to accept the deal because of increasing their payouts and jeopardize their stance against other teams and that's where the bookies get gamblers caught who justifies games outcomes by games odds.
So you just get overwhelmed how a team with a very high odds have to beat teams with a smaller odds which was supposed to be the bigger team.

Fix matches doesn't only affect gamblers, it affect the teams involved and that's why Fifa has banned all players from gambling. If you're a player and you registered by a club, one of the things Fifa federation prohibit is players involved in any malicious activities of gambling. If you are caught, you can get 2 years banned and suspension from club activities. You see why fixed matches can ruin things from everyone but this manipulation still exist in leagues.

They are not that many, the leagues you can see this numbers are leagues you see teams scored each other with 7 goals in a single match and this goals isn't limited to only match, they happened across all matches. You dare not gamble under goals with such kind of leagues, you will get rekt. It's such leagues you will think under 5.5 goals is difficult until you see a match with 4:0 in just 25 minutes of starting marche.

I once placed a live bet on a Basketball game at that time there was about 1 minute left before break time, I only need 2 points to win the bet and you know both teams don't score any points I mean they seem to want to waste time well from there I assumed the match was fixed and that's one of the reasons why I always avoid betting on basketball games. I've won on at least one fixed match because it was the underdog that won it and that was my bet.  I thought I was just a genius for picking that unlikely outcome not that it was fixed.   Later on they discovered otherwise but to me it was always credible so they really messed up to get discovered but its never ok to fix matches and its correct that its illegal because it ruins the whole industry and happens too often already sadly.

I also don't think it affects gamblers always because the outcome will not be win or lose, they can bet in number of yellow cards, so only ref can do this. It can be done by number of corner kicks. So, with those type of options, match fixing will not affect obviously the gamblers

Don't non-fixed (ordinary) matches cause depression and problems for players? :) How are you even going to figure out (before depression sets in) which matches were fixed and which weren't? I don't think ordinary players are capable of recognizing "fixed matches"б since only a limited number of people have this information (that a particular match is fixed).

I understand what the OP is talking about - if he made everything right, but loss - it really disappoints and add you some losses. But you 100% right - it is the same match like the others. We can say that it was "unlucky" match and forget about it. If we can`t do something with it - we can only leave it in the past.

But believe it or not, match-fixing can actually happen & have a very detrimental impact on those who bet on the matches that have been arranged. Because in my opinion, as long as the context is gambling, anything is possible & can happen, including match-fixing. Perhaps there is one acceptable reason, namely a team's bad luck resulting in a loss, but all of that feels strange if the losing team loses by a very large score. It’s hard to determine now if fixed match only happened on small league since there’s already a player prop option which they can do partial fixed match that involves only 1 player related on his stats.

It’s true. It doesn’t really affect the betting public that much because the lines always adjust to balance the action. We still don’t know the script or the real outcome, so we might end up on the right side or the wrong side like normal. Not all of us will bet on the losing side anyway.

The real problem with rigged games is the entertainment part, because the game stops feeling real. But for bettors, our mindset is different. We’re kinda fine with it as long as we read the situation right. Maybe we just need to be smarter, bet on the right side, and always keep the possibility of a fix in the back of our mind.

Organizers should stop doing this because this will ruin the reputation not just for the gambling industry but also for the players. This kind of event will lead to making negative speculation and discouraging people from watching the game. Much more on discouraging bettors. This fixed match just tells us that everything can be controlled by money, and this is not good to look at. We'd rather promote fair games than show they can be manipulated.
